Walmart Supercenter

This is has to be the busiest WalMart in the state. Parking can be a difficult. It is pretty easy access off the interstate. Can be challenging to find an associate for help. They all seem to be in the self-checkout area.They have someone checking your receipt when you leave. I never stop though. They have cameras and associates watch as you check your stuff out. I never stop. I’ve used the curbside pickup and it was pretty fast. They usually have at least one option for what I’m looking for. Produce is pretty basic and not always the best selections.

I have never been treated so badly by a team lead! Was there Thursday around 530. And had a decent cart of things.  Waited in the self check outs and then after finally checking out. My bf was trying to use his 15 percent off coupon.  It wouldn't work. The cashier came over. Couldn't suspend my transaction so had to cancel it , she took me to her team lead.  All she had the audacity to say , many times,  you need to just go wait in the line. Said very rudely  I explained I already rung up everything, but it got voided , again she said you need to go wait in a checkout lane , if you don't like your job find another oe..  extremely rude!  Don't know her name but started with a C..  will not go back to that location. No reason to be disrespected, could of been more professional.. I was thinking of transferring to that location  but no thanks

my friend and i went there for a girls day prep trip and Timber was working the check out. She was amazing! usually people are sulky about self checkout workers but she made our day so much better from the amazing attitude she has! such a bright employee and it was much appreciated :)

They got me on 2 accounts! They never fix charges that they have charged the wrong card constantly!!!!! I have 1 leg and just had my big toe amputated and said I need to come into the store and they never have carts for me to use much less any one disabled!!!!

Very helpful Employees with great customer service. I’ve been to a lot of Walmarts and have not received customer service like I did at the Windsor Heights store, It also seemed pretty clean to me. I’ve seen a lot of other stores with trash all over the parking lot and trash inside the store and cluttered. That was not the case here.

AT&T Store

Staff  was very patient answering questions and helping me find the perfect phone to use when I have arthritis in my hands. Harder to use phone during flare ups, together we narrowed it down to three, then I made the final selection. Thank you Cody for time and patience.
Also Jeff the day before explaining my plans to me for my family. This guys are really great. This is part of the reason I'm still with AT&T.

I had an amazing experience at this store! From the start I felt welcomed in by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would give 10 stars if I could!

Terrible customer service tonight.  Sat in the store for over 20 minutes just to get a couple replacement protector screens.  Service was busy with a customer.  Once finished essentially ignored us as we sat there.  When she finally came over we showed her the screen protectors that we needed.  She went in the back, came out and took another phone call.  Left us sitting there not even acknowledging our existence.  Whole situation was strange as we couldn’t figure out if she was ever going to come back and actually help us.  After sitting there for over 20 minutes she said “I can’t help you tonight”.  Complete and utter waste of time.  Terrible customer service.

Worked with Luke and we were in and out in a timely manner. Given beyond 5 star service, and made us feel warm and welcome throughout the entire interaction! Will be coming only here  for my AT&T needs and I am from Colorado visiting.

If I had a better experience in my life, I can’t remember when ! In a day & age people seek a responsible intelligent customer service and personal, Luke at AT&T is the consummate professional! Your company is in great hands! The world needs more Luke’s !!!

The UPS Store

Tried to charge me money to take back my Amazon return. UPS delivered that package to me like that. My Amazon QR code says they will pack and ship it. This was the first time and last time I will use go to this location. I have been using 2 other places for about 4 years and have never had this issue.

Very fast service. Been coming here for their shipping and shredding services and I've always have great experience with them.

This location has always been friendly and courteous. Professional and know their jobs.

I stopped in the store to ship a package to Campbell California. The attendant that I was dealing with in person told me the address keeps changing to San Jose in your system. I said that’s not correct at Campbell she told me that what we can do is try sending the package and if it doesn’t work it will be returned. That’s exactly what happened we tried sending the package the package was returned. I received a phone call saying that they need a new address to update because it was returned. The lady I just spoke on the phone with at the Johnson store said I would have to pay again for it to be shipped even though I was told the first time that it would be reshipped out at no charge. And then proceeded to tell me that she didn’t have time to deal with me because she had customers in the store and hung up on me. I am out raged and angry and I refuse to pay for this. I work in customer service and this was absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. I will never be using UPS again.

MidAmerican Moving

I had the best moving experience I've ever had with Dave and Co. I am an older single woman and have moved A LOT in my life. My experience with MidAmerican Moving was the best; on time, helpful, professional and fast. I don't know why I chose them out of the "10 Best" in my area but I am grateful I did!!

By far the best moving company ever! I needed help moving my home office downstairs and moving my guest room upstairs I also needed them to pickup a few furniture items from an estate sale they did a great job and picked up and delivered my new armoire it was not easy up my staircase but they made it happen I can't say enough top notch group of hard working men. Thank you so much!

I was extremely happy with MidAmerican Moving. Dave was very supportive of the fact that I had to change my move date twice. On the day of the move Dave came and introduced all of the guys to me. Everyone was very nice and respectful and I was truly appreciative. They packed my belongings one day and moved them the next. Everything was handled with care and they took everything apart and put it back together. They also put everything exactly where I wanted it. I couldn't have asked for more. So, if you need an excellent mover then contact them. They are absolutely wonderful and I truly recommend them to everyone !!!!!

The movers here took great care in wrapping all of my breakables. There wasn't a single shattered plate or glass from my branded dinner set. They were really thorough and patient with me. I recommend their service!

Great group of guys. Super impressed with the way they packed and covered everything and handled my Harley-Davidson with kitten gloves

Des Moines Art Center

One should definitely visit the art centre if you're in Des Moines. The exhibits are truly a work of art! Also, there is ample of parking space available outside. Free admission is a bonus!

Such a great place to go and visit for free.  Beautiful works of art, really cool sculptures, great architecture of the building itself.

It was raining and we came here before our flight out of town.  The outdoors also has some nice seating and photo opportunity areas.

A real gem.  The museum is perfectly situated on a hill in a park. Wander the grounds, the expansive gardens, admire the architecture, both outside and then inside. And inside you'll find an eclectic and fierce collection of work including Basquiat, Singer Sargent and O'Keeffe to name a few. Grab a bite at the Cafe and something at the gift shop. And drop in a donation when you leave.  After all ... admission is free.

I absolutely loved my (free!) visit to the Des Moines Art Center. I came when they were working on installing a few new exhibits, but there was still plenty to see and ponder here. The staff were overall friendly and kind without being overbearing or interruptive; the fellow who welcomed me in was pleasant and talkative, but at no time did I feel beleagured by our chat. My only complaint is that in the Richard Meier building, one of the staff seemed to get very close to me as I viewed the artpieces, and another staffperson was playing music or a video on his phone, which was quite loud to begin with and echoed up into the top floor.

The art on display was quite captivating and lovely to view, and it spans a wide variety of styles, eras, and cultural origins. The temporary exhibit, Double Take, was interesting, tho I wish there had been clear signage on which photo was staged and which was candid; not knowing made it difficult for me to engage fully with the exhibit. I absolutely fell in love with Water Woman by Wangechi Mutu and kept physically and mentally returning to her. And there were plenty of other stunning pieces I keep thinking about as well.

A stroll thru the Rose Garden afterward was nice; I remain unsure as to where the sculpture garden is. Exterior signage in this way could be improved. I also was delighted by the Little Free Art Gallery by the Center's parking lot. I wish there had been materials provided to make my own piece to add, but I did take a delightful little turtle painting by an artist of the name of Alleighlee.

One major issue I noted was the Center's accesibility. I can see that this museum is trying to be an accessible space, but a few major issues stood out to me. One is that one of two disabled entrances (the one on the north side) appears to be more of a sidedoor and afterthought. The entrance on the south side of the parking lot is a closer choice, but I'd love to see a solution worked out so that people with wheelchairs or strollers can enter thru the main set of doors.

Also, the single elevator in the Meier building was not operating the day I visited. This means that the lower and upper floors could not be accessed by anyone who is unable to use the stairs. The bathroom on the lower level of the Meier building also is *mostly* accessible (plenty of space, lower paper towel dispenser, etc), aside from the heavy doors that could be an issue for some folks to get open.

Overall I absolutely loved my visit to this museum, but as an ablebodied person, I also had a lot more freedom to roam and explore than some people may have. The artwork here is beautiful and diverse, and has given me so much to ponder.

The Des Moines Art Center is always a nice place to visit. The collection is interesting and well cared for. The gift shop has high-quality unique items, and is well managed by friendly staff. The restaurant is bright and spacious.

O'Donnell Ace Hardware

I Love Ace hardware! It's a smaller more intimate environment and the customer service is unbeatable. I appreciate the employees knowledge and teamwork. O'Donnell Ace Hardware happens to be about a block away from my home and super convenient. The staff is more than happy to help you find what you need and I'm never apprehensive to ask for opinions or even how to do something. I'm never steered wrong and always leave a happy customer!

Very good store to go to for tools and home improvement stuff. The customer service here is very good with no complaints. I just got in and out with the supplies I've needed and then some, definitely coming back in the near future.

Great customer service.  Sam provided a lot of details regarding models EGO battery powered hedge trimmers and line EGO string trimmers.  I bought both.

Close by to my residence, and prices are not bad. Also friendly helpful staff.

It's smaller so, makes shopping easier plus staff is always available and helpful/friendly which you don't find in the bigger stores. So for most hardware needs I go there first.

Cappel's Ace Hardware

Great customer service. Went in there looking for a tap. They didn’t have it in stock. Was browsing their Stihl equipment. Gentleman was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on their equipment and different things to do to prolong the life of my equipment. I will definitely be purchasing items from them when I am in the area.

Had key made & it worked fine. 🚴🏼‍♂️✌️😷

Sales rep Joe was extremely helpful went out of his way to get me the information that I needed and I will be back to order the barbecue I was looking for

Great store to be a shopper, but terrible if you’re an employee. I recently left this store due to drama caused by another coworker that was newer than I was and the owner and manager sided with her when I didn’t start stuff, they don’t care about their employees at all and have no loyalty to those who work hard there. I moved to the norwalk store and was then let go for being sick. Terrible management and handling by owner🙄 Another employee I’m in contact with Aalto was just let go because of the same girl starting things with her.

Great Ace Hardware, as per usual! The employees truly care and try to help you with anything you may need, starting the moment you walk in the door. Are the prices the cheapest? Not always, but they tend to carry some premium products so their pricing isn't out of line. Plus, you're paying for convenience. I am always willing to spend more if it means I don't have to waste half an hour driving across town and back to save a dollar at a big box store.

Ace is the place!! If you feel like avoiding the big-box stores or just need something in a flash O'Donnell Ace hardware is the only spot you need. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and can help you find just the right items for your project.

Went online to find the bike lock I wanted, verified my local ace hardware had it in stock, then picked it up in minutes. Hassle free.

It sure would be nice if, on a Sunday afternoon, I could grab a weed trimmer and case of ice cold beer at O'Donnell Ace Hardware.

I've been into this store several times and 9/10 times the staff are very rude and disrespectful. They act as if doing their job is an inconvenience, I've witnessed them treat other customers this way as well. There have been multiple times where I have offered to help other customers because the clerks have basically said they won't help them. It's been my experience that if the transaction consists of anything other than scanning a label and tossing the package into a box from the cash register, they are angry, rude, disrespectful and not willing to do what needs to be done. When I have pushed back on the staff on what could or should be done, I've been argued with or told that they don't have to do that. I've also witnessed this behavior to other customers while waiting in line. I shouldn't have to argue with staff in order for them to do their job. It's come to the point where I DREAD going there but there isn't another option but driving clear into Des Moines. This is nothing new and has been going on for over a year, so I don't imagine management or ownership will do anything. But atleast this might warn others in the community.

Edit to add** As you can see for yourself by the "owners" very professional response below. Asking if the label can be manually entered is not quite the same as demanding. Printing another label at the store was not offered to me as a solution during that specific instance. No solution was offered at all actually, and when I pushed back stating manually entering the information WAS an option, I was told that "not every job has to make it work". I might add that there were no other customers in the store at all and no line requiring the process to be "sped up". But, this is only one of MANY instances I have both experienced and witnessed. The "owner" response to this review really speaks for itself supporting this review.

The people who work here have real sour puss attitudes. I understand working is hard, dealing with customers is hard, but if you don't like your job it shows. And the employees show it... Ether corporate needs to treat their employees better, customers need to treat them better, or they need to find new employment. Cuz it is not pleasant being in that store you can feel the tension.

Had my wife return my package today that I didn't mean to buy. And when she went inside to drop it off the lady that was working was extremely rude, demanding, and beyond disrespectful. If I ever go in there myself and have to deal with this after this current date, hope they don't expect me to be nice. Bad day or not whatever you have going on it isn't my problem. All you have to do is take my package and do your job. Deal with it and get over it. I called the store to demand an explanation and she goes on about all of the vendors they deal with I explained I don't care about your vendors I'm here about my business with you and she hung up on me I tried calling back and they didn't answer

Oh my goodness. Fast, easy, and affordable service. What more could you expect? I went into the Merle Hay store location and I was immediately greeted by Shaddai and Nida. I was in the market for a phone that I could use for work and I have pretty high standards. I was able to get a brand new iPhone 13 without much hassle. It took about 45 minutes max (and that’s pushing it) Nida and Shaddai were so efficient and they worked diligently to ensure I left happy and satisfied with my product. I am so appreciative that they were able to assist me. The atmosphere is almost familial and it was a pleasure working with them. I will 100% be returning if I have any questions or other issues. Went in today and had an amazing experience. The store was clean and staff weee attentive.! Went in around 5:30 and didn’t wait at all.! I was helped by Shaddai who was over the top.! Knowledgeable and personable.! He helped me upgrade my device in no time.! I was very satisfied when leaving the store.!

Extremely long wait times. I assumed understaffed at first with only 1 employee doing his best to help out a full store, but after waiting for over 45 min a bunch of employees came out of the back seemingly all having taken their break at the same time.

Came into store frustrated and irritated- d/t phone issues.  Efrain was very helpful, considerate, and personable. Got me a good deal since I have been long time customer. He helped put me at ease and I left a satisfied customer with a new phone.  Thank you
