I had Nathan come out to my house to fix a nest thermostat issue. Great experience, Nathan arrived on time for the company’s estimated arrival window of one hour, compared to some others where the arrival window can be between 4-6 hours. Nathan fixed my Nest quickly and got everything up and running perfectly.

Nathan was out to the house to get my furnace up and running (the day after Christmas!). He was here when he said he'd be and did the work in a timely  efficient manner. Nathan explained everything as he went along and now I have heat again! Excellent work.

Dakota Unlimited

We used Dakota to replace our fence line that was falling apart. On the initial consult we got helpful information and recommendations, and we ended up needing to wait for our garage remodel which Dakota was incredibly flexible to work around. We expanded our scope and ended up doing our neighbors fencline as well, Dakota was able to go back and forth with us and also price out a specific request for our neighbor.

Tear out went quickly and the crew was very efficient, and the install crew was also very professional with their process. Our fence is now using concrete footings instead of just dirt or on a retaining wall, so I have significantly more confidence in the longevity for our backyard. This has been a major improvement and we are incredibly happy with how great our fence looks. We will absolutely work with Dakota in the future for any needs and recommend them for others. High-quality fence installation that all of our neighbors with their new fence sections are also raving about.

We had a great experience with Dakota Unlimited. They provided fabulous customer service and great communication as far as scheduling dates for install. The install teams were very professional and helpful with questions. I love our new fence! I would definitely recommend Dakota Unlimited.

Although Dakota Unlimited was more expensive than most fence companies, I was assured that their quality and service would make it worth it. After the job was complete, I asked that they come back out to fix one of the walls as it wasn't straight. They came out and "fixed" it but it still wasn't straight. I told them that "we are not entirely happy with the fence line but I think we can live with it." They decreased the final bill but didn't attempt to fix the line again. When reading a review, I think you ultimately want to know one thing: knowing what you know now, would you have picked Dakota Unlimited to install your fence? The answer to that question is no. The quality of the final product below average and we will not be choosing Dakota Unlimited for future work.

We have had a fantastic experience with Dakota Unlimited for our fence. They have been on-time, polite, and do great work. Twice my fence has floated up and my dog could crawl under- I called and someone came out within a few days to fix it for me. Now we had some damage to the fence and four years later I recognize the same crew, they’ve again been prompt, friendly, and helpful. Thanks so much!

We couldn't be happier with our beautiful new wood privacy fence and gate! Our old fence was falling down, we decided to go with Dakota Unlimited because their representative Zach was very knowledgable and was able to answer our questions and make great recommendations when doing the quote.
The business was great with follow through, while we had to wait a while to get the fence installed, they met all of our expectations and then some.
The quality of our new fence and gate is significantly higher quality, more sturdy and much more aesthetically pleasing than our old one. The crew, including Jake, that worked at our house were all professional, friendly and didn't leave any type of mess. I highly recommend PuroClean! Mikias and his team were great to work with when I had water damage in my house. They were able to come out right away and stopped by my house every day to make sure everything was drying out. They encouraged me to reach out with any questions, no matter the time of day. From stopping by earlier for estimate through the job, Mark was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions I had.  The railing on my front steps was rickety; the person who originally put the steps/railing in used nails in place of bolts where it needed strength; as well as a few steps needed to be tweaked.  I have osteoporosis and the railing the way it was was dangerous if it was needed to assist me  on the way up/down.  He also powerwashed everything.  He only used new pieces where needed,  which you don't see this nowadays.  Everything looks brand new and strong.  Since Mark had a little time after project was done, I got his input as to possible things to tackle next year, which I appreciated.   Thanks again!

From start to finish Ace Handyman and Jason did a great job on estimating and repairing my basement from water damage. In addition, I had them install a sheet rock ceiling.  Jason did a phenomenal job on the new ceiling furring out the joists installing the new sheet rock and doing all the mudding taping, sanding, painting, himself.  It looks awesome and I actually gained some space over my drop ceiling height. He also installed  new LVP flooring throughout and on my stairs. In addition to installing new baseboard in the space and repairing some damaged walls. Jason has an incredible work ethic and doesn’t stop until the jobs done.
I am so happy with how everything turned out!  Highly recommend Jason and Ace Handyman.

Mark did a fabulous job of caulking our bathtub and sink. He also took some extra time to regrout some of the bathroom tile that needed it. This was not necessarily expected but just an example of how he went above and beyond to make sure the bathroom looked its best. After all his work, the tile looks as if it was just newly installed. I can’t say enough about his skill level and willingness to help. He was also a pleasure to work with.

Mark was nice, but didn't really know, at first, what was needed to fix on my toilet.  He then says loudly, THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE.  And when I came it to see, he said my toilet was loose and that the valve handle was missing.  I said we needed to focus on getting my toilet to flush properly.  So, it seemed like a scam to get me concerned about a loose toilet, which I still don't even see this (does not act loose at all for me).  Scare tactics are not professional.

Also, when I scheduled this appointment, I was told all drivers had "fully stocked" trucks. Mark had to leave and go get both the toilet and insulation parts.  It took a longer time to do the work, due to this.  So, I feel duped from both parts of this business.  Therefore, no stars.

In response to Handyman Services response....my toilet is not wobbly nor did he show me that water moving due to this.  THAT is the duped part -- it is not true.  The only issue with the toilet is what Mark only 1/2 fixed...with new flusher and other part, but it is not satisfactory at all as he never fixed that it is SUPER HARD TO FLUSH STILL.  That was the initial problem, which I still have.  So, that is why this poor review.  You just tried to defend everything from your end.  Where is your guarantee and customer service?  It isn't corrected.  I paid you in full, but have the same issue with the toilet.

Rob is such a great guy and super hard working. Great sense of humor too! He added stairs to our existing deck. His attention to detail is so appreciated. We highly recommend and will use for future projects!!

Rob came out to scope out the job of fixing up our old and hideous basement stairs. I didn’t really know how to fix the stairs — replace all the treads and risers? Install vinyl caps on top of the existing stairs? — so I wasn’t even sure what it was I was requesting, other than “make these stairs not look so terrible.” Rob recommended the vinyl caps. He told us exactly what to buy and how to prep/demo the existing stairs, and then he came out and gave our stairs a beautiful facelift! He also did some extra stuff that we hadn’t even thought about, like driving in some extra screws to get rid of some of the squeaking. He was efficient and friendly too. We will definitely hire Ace Handyman services for our next project.

Chris is courteous and very skilled. He fabricated and replaced very complex trim using PVC rather than wood (which had rotted). He did a fantastic job!

The job was to install a pre hung exterior door. Seemed straightforward but apparently not for our installation. I felt kind of bad for the older gentleman and had to help him with some of the lifting and positioning. I’m not sure if he was given proper instructions by Ace Handyman Services but he seemed a little confused about the job.
I had to leave for work and my wife told me he took 6 hours to get the job done @ $120/ hour! Trash and service charge brought this up to $955. Seems excessive but the going rate. The trim board on the exterior side of door looked horrible like it had been installed by a amateur. It took me a hour plus of my time to make it look acceptable.
We recently had a full sliding glass door installed by a single installer from Crew2 and it took him half the time and the workmanship was amazing.
Another negative of Ace Handyman is they were all over me to pay immediately. Just a overall bad experience.
Avoid them!

I was overly impressed with Chris. I had 3 very unique jobs and he accomplished all three.  He was very knowledgeable, has great critical thinking skills and found solutions, he knows carpentry, patios, and construction. He went above and beyond.    I will defiantly use this service again and request Chris specifically.  Great service.    Can’t thank you enough - being a single person who has no help, this service is amazing.

BlackHawk Garage Door

Black Hawk replaced two 20 year old garage door openers today. The installer arrived on time and completed the install in less than 3 hours and hauled the old openers and rails away. I thought their pricing was great and Bob the manager was very helpful picking the right model.

The spring broke on my double garage door. I was able to get an appointment for the repair within a couple of days. John had all the supplies he needed to complete the project. He was very personable and was very kind to my fearful dog. He took extra few minutes to make him feel more comfortable. I’ve used BlackHawk before this and I will use them again.

We had a few estimates done. The places that had coupons charged a little more but once the coupon or discount was deducted the prices were all pretty  comparable. The Blackhawk rep was very knowledgeable he let us know all the options we had with out pushing us into buying something we didn't want. We did have a little bit of a communication issue. Played a few rounds of telephone tag.  But end result ☆☆☆☆ Very Satisfied. The guys who did the install were very courteous &  efficient. The garage door is so quiet & looks great. *Thanks Blackhawk Garage guys job well done*

These guys did a great job.  They answered my questions over the phone, directed me to the best garage door opener for my situation.  Were prompt, took care of the job professionally and at a price I felt was reasonable.  I'd recommend them and would use them again.

We had two doors installed and they are very good quality- better R value, quiet going up/down, look very nice. We had bought garage doors through menards, and they were less than 'ideal'- paint flaws, dents- ordered replacements and they were just as bad!
Price was slightly higher than what we had through menards but this included installation and the doors are much better quality so it was a great deal!  I would highly recommend Blackhawk!

Zac removed our porch rail and installed a new one. He did an outstanding job. He was on time and very professional. He also paid attention to details and my new rail looks great!

Zac was great at fixing our huge sliding door! He was professional and quick at his repair. Cleaned up everything and really made sure it was all level and in hood working order. Would highly recommend Ace Handyman services and Zac!

Rich did a fantastic job with my list of items after my home purchase. If he didn't have the correct item, he went to get it. For other things like glass replacement he recommended solutions.

Paul Davis Restoration of West County

The whole team did great work. They answered all my questions and they were very professional. I would use them again in the future!

My basement has been under reconstruction since April of 2021. It is now the end of September of 2022 and they still have not finished the work. Contacting this company is like pulling teeth and when I do get a response it's vague and when I spoke with the owner I just got cussed out and hung up on. My recommendation is to literally use any other company that is not Paul Davis Restoration of West County.

Update as of 1/6/2023 - Updating this review to share that it has been just over a year since anyone from their team has been to my home. There seems to be a lack in organization on their part and you can never seem to get ahold of anyone with this office. Don't use this company, they start jobs they can't finish and leave the homeowners to deal with the extra stress. I would give them 0/4 stars if I could. Also, I noticed they responded to my original comment and they mention that My "husband" was my project manager? I'm not even married.

Apologies for writing this late. Paul Davis did an awesome job in mitigating our flooding issue. Our emergency occurred late at night, but their team still arrived quickly and got to work. Very appreciative for their services.

Glass Doctor of Minneapolis

Very positive experience. They worked on decorative glass shelves and restored my mom’s display cabinet. They were personable and professional.  I worked with Bryce who was honest and upfront about the scope of his business and what he could and could not accomplish for my mom’s request. The installer was delightful and conversational. He enjoys his workplace which speaks to the culture Bryce has established. I have already recommended them to others.

They were quick to respond to my first call for service repair. They answered my call immediately and they were out the next day to do measurements. The order was placed and the window pane was in within 2 and half weeks and installed the next day.  The window looks brand new. The even removed the blinds to replace it and put them back up. I am in a townhome association and will be recommending them to my association for anyone who needs repairs. I am very pleased.

We were house sitting a window was accidentally broken. Glass Doctor was very helpful. Got someone out right away. The window was very old original Anderson. That used folded thin glass. Glass Doctor went above and beyond to make the glass and replaced the window. Took a little time but kept in contact with me. Always showed on time and very kind. Thank you again!!

Our shower door was replaced, and the new one is beautiful, sturdy, and impeccably installed. Hope to work with Glass Doctor again!

I wouldn't give this place even one star but it won't let me write a review if I don't without leaving a star so they got one! I paid $29.99 for a service call & was told that the $29.99 would be applied to my final total balance price. When he was here he told me they had to order the weather stripping. I was also told that when they come back to fix my door it would be about $50 to $100 dollars with the $29.99 being applied at that time. So in no way did I think I was going to be charged what they charged me! They said they'd call me when the part came in. I had to keep calling there once a week to see if it came in yet. Finally on the 3rd phone call he told me yes it's here. The guy came out the next week & installed my window stripping. After he was done he gave me a grand total of $153.46!! I was taken back! But I still wrote the check & decided to call the manager to find out why I was charged so much..? The guy couldn't give me a straight answer & kept changing why it was that price. I asked why the $29.99 wasn't applied.. He tells me it was! Your grand total was $183.45!! I about fell over!!! Their was no sorry it wasn't made clear to you but instead he made it sound like I was a nuisance. Even though I was told I would get updates on my part being shipped to them I'd call to see if my part was in & he says to me, "didn't I just talk to you" ummm yeah ya did! You were going to keep me posted but haven't!! I wouldn't use this place ever again! I definitely wouldn't recommend this place either!

Soulard Garage Door and Fence

On Friday, 7/15, I had a portion of fence installed.  66 feet total, 165 slats, 12 posts.  That meant there were 12 post holes dug with a manual post hole digger.  I don't remember his name, but the young man installed all of it by himself!  He was on time, worked so hard in the heat and in the light rain.  He was also very professional and didn't act annoyed at all when I began asking him questions about how I needed to treat the fence when I do landscaping around it.  My neighbors have been complimenting me on how nice it is and I literally can't stop looking at it.  OK, I'm a nerd LOL.  I would recommend this company to everyone.  The company staff were eager and made it very easy to work with them.

Brady and his team are top notch. I reached out to them while my husband and I were in the process of purchasing a home, knowing we would need a fence installed ASAP. They were communicative and even willing to go out to the property before we bought it and give us an estimate on getting a fence installed.
Once we closed, they scheduled the work ASAP and got it done in 1 day. They did a wonderful job and it was exactly what we were looking for. After the fence was installed, we realized there is an awkward gap between our carport and the house that would leave a space for our dog to get out. Brady immediately suggested a solution and got it taken care of within a day. Reasonable prices and great service--can't recommend them enough!

Five stars are given for great customer service, for quality of installation and for the finished product. Our black aluminum fencing was installed in one day, and our two dogs escaped within minutes the first time we took them out. The space between pickets should have been too small for our 15 lb. dogs to get through, but they somehow did so with no problem. Brady found a fix in the form of vinyl coated chain link which he added to the bottom two feet of the fence. The addition can be removed, if wanted, leaving the original fence intact.  Our dogs are now able to run in the yard and we know they are safe within the fence.

This was the only company I could find that could help me with a last-minute fence installation. Our wedding plans got changed during quarantine and we chose to get married in our backyard. Soulard agreed to install a beautiful privacy fence over Memorial Day weekend. We felt so lucky and are so happy with how it turned out!

I just can't say enough good things about this company and the people that work for it.  We initially asked for them to complete a moving gate project for a parking pad.  We were so impressed that we hired them to complete a fence project.  In both experiences, we were impressed with the relationship this business developed with us, consistently working through our projects, and of course, the final project.  They are thorough, kind, affordable and delivered a finished product.  You will be thoroughly pleased with the product and experience.
