iDry Blowout Bar - West 7th

I had an appointment on New Years Eve. I scheduled online. When I arrived, only one staff member was working. A woman receiving another service spontaneously asked for a blow out, and they put her ahead of me. I waited somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 minutes, which really stunk since I scheduled this appointment right before our dinner. I have naturally curly hair that was tangled underneath from wearing a jacket. To untangle it, the sylist said it was easier to brush it before washing. So without any conditioner or moisture whatsoever, she proceeded to detangle my hair by just brushing through the tangles. I consider myself to be very tough headed, and it was painful! It remained fairly rough throughout the appointment. I endured it because I was out of town on NYE, and I wanted my hair to look good. I knew I probably wouldn't get an appointment elsewhere at that time in the evening. I think this business is mismanaged and there will probably be more scheduling issues, etc. Why did they only have one person scheduled on NYE? Why would they let an unscheduled appointment take precedence over one who had booked? Why did the stylist brush through my tangles without wetting it and applying conditioner? BTW, I DID like my hair, but it was a painful experience that was not worth the time, money, or pain. I enjoy getting my hair styled as a special treat. I've probably had somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 over the last 6 years. This was my worst experience by far. I've never had someone be so rough with my scalp/hair. Pay $10 more and go somewhere else.

Great place with great prices!! First had my eyebrows threaded then came back the next day for a shampoo and blow out and Jonathan was super!! I have already made my next appointment.

Stayed at the Omni downtown and found this drybar. So happy now I have a place for blowouts every time I'm in town close to my hotel!

Lady that did my hair was nice, but I had no bounce or style 30 minutes later. Waste of money

I had THE BEST experience with Jenna! She was recommended to me by a friend and she did not disappoint! Not only was her space radiating the best vibes, she was extremely kind and welcoming. My maps brought me to the wrong location and Jenna literally came outside to find me! She was not upset and made me feel better about my mistake. Drybar - Dallas - Highland Park

Haven’t been to Drybar in over a decade. I came here literally last minute. I had booked an appointment at BAM and they did me dirty saying I never booked. This was on a Saturday at 5pm! Luckily for me I called Drybar and got an appointment at 5:30! They literally saved me.

I was already nervous since I have had a blow out/straight hair in years. (I have naturally curly hair).

The professionalism and quality of service was top-notch. I am so satisfied with how my ho hair turned out. I asked for a classic old Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe style and the stylist nailed it. I felt so beautiful. It’s been six days and my hair still looks amazing.

I have never been to a DryBar location before and was recommended to go. I went to a DryBar in Highland Park, Dallas on 3/20/21 at 1pm, a few hours before I had to attend a wedding. I asked for the old fashioned/ Hollywood curls and was appalled.  When I was in the chair, there was no mirror in front of me, so I could not see what was happening as the stylist was curling my hair, therefore I couldn’t stop her.  At the end of the service, she gave me a mirror and I was in complete shock. Not to mention, I had a wedding to attend only 2 hours later and was confident that I’d have to shower and now redo my entire hair, starting from scratch.  It was the biggest waste of time and waste of money I’ve ever spent. I hardly ever write bad reviews, but this experience was awful.  I could tell the staff and other customers were staring at me as I left the chair in disbelief. I wish I remembered my stylist’s name, but I don’t.  Not to mention, while she was curling my hair with a straightener, she was extremely rough and I could feel her ripping out hair.  Lastly, when I tried to contact the salon after leaving and explain how incredibly unhappy I was, I waited on hold for an hour and was never connected with the someone at salon. I have been going to get my hair colored and styled for 20+ years at other salons and have never had such an awful experience.  I wish I could give this a 0 star rating.

Love blowouts and a good location with lots of parking. The front desk employee was very cold and unwelcoming last time but in general I've had very positive experiences with the blowouts themselves.

Had a great experience at DryBar for my blowout! I had it done the Friday before my wedding and needed it to last a couple days through all the events. It looked beautiful and voluminous for 2 days!

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The African American lady that did my hair did a terrible job! she burned my scalp when drying my hair, was in a hurry washing my hair and style was absolutely awful! She put so much hair spar when drying my hair she totally fried my hair.  I will get lawyer and sue them! She damaged my scalp so much!

Chrome Salon & Blowout Bar

So excited to find a salon who not only values the health of your hair but has hair stylist that cater to women with short/pixie hair.

Amanda is fantastic! Instead of burning my hair with dyes she did a “test” on a piece of cut hair to see if my hair would take. After 30+ min it didn’t turn any other color. (Due to me using cheap dye) recommended me getting my hair healthy and in the future can attempt highlights. I highly respected this approach instead of ruining my hair and charging my 200+ for burnt hair.

In SF it is very hard to find a good salon there is a wait almost everywhere. But I will wait for Amanda here cause of the careful attention to keeping hair healthy and looking good.

Worth the wait make the appt (I’ve heard the other stylists are just as good from friends who also come here)

I went to Chrome salon to have my hair color corrected on July 1 of 2021 I waited 2 months for this appointment.
I was given an estimate of what it would cost over the phone, and I was fine with it. I was told it could take several hours to do my hair, and I was fine with that too. I took off work for this appointment.
My stylist was ____  She seemed to understand what it was that I wanted fixed. She suggested doing highlights and lowlights. I told her I trusted her, and I just wanted my hair to have even two tone highlights. We did not discuss partial versus full highlights or anything like that. I was there for a color correction, so I thought that meant the stylist was going to color correct my hair.
Right after my appointment I thought my hair looked much better, with the exception of it looking a little bit green on the ends. I told the stylist my hair catches ash and purple toner easily, so she was aware, and could make adjustments if needed.
2 days later I went to style my hair to wear it half up and half down.  I looked at the back of my head, and  It was completely uneven. I had patches of dark hair, that looked black against the blonde. There was an entire section of my hair that the stylist did not even touch. Apparently she only did the top layers of my hair. I don't have a lot of hair, and my hair is very thin, so she didn't do much.
I did not feel that this stylist color corrected my hair. I called Chrome the following work day, and I was told to email my photographs, which I did.
No one called back. I finally was able to speak to the manager, and then the owner a week later.
I was told that color correction can not be achieved in one appointment. I was told that I agreed to the service, after the consultation, but the thing is I never had much of a consultation. The stylist told me she could fix my hair with adding highlights as well as lowlights and a toner.
She never once told me I would have to come back in to do the rest of my hair, if she had I would have been fine doing so, but I was not told.
I thought she had corrected all of my hair. That is what I asked for. The owner, Jessica and the manager Julianna were extremely rude and aggressive with me on the phone. They placed the blame on me, and told me that they can't wave a magic wand and fix my hair In one session. They told me they cared about the integrity of my hair, and that they were not going to damage it. The thing is the hair that they failed to color was my natural hair, so it could not have been over processed, because it had no color at all on it. They came up with excuse after excuse as to why my hair was not corrected. Then the manager basically called me a liar, and told me I had changed my story 4 times. WTH?!
I spoke to 3 different people at the salon, the receptionist, the manager, and the owner, and I never changed my story. That's a lie. I do not know the technical terms stylist's use, like partial versus full highlights etc... So I may have been confused with my wording, but I certainly did not lie. What did I have to lie about? The photographs speak for themselves.
I was put on hold for almost 13 minutes, and when the Julianna finally came back she told me that they would not be fixing my hair. She said my stylist feels uncomfortable doing my hair, and they don't have any other stylist's that are taking new clients. I told her I needed my hair fixed for the wedding, and she did not care. She actually hung up on me while I was still speaking.
I have never in all my life been treated like this by a business. Julianna the manager, and Jessica the owner acted like 2 teenage bullies. I paid close to 250.00 for this color correction, and my hair looks terrible. It is now 4 different colors.
Nothing is blended, and the ends of my hair look green.
I would also like to ad that, I believe this is the first bad review I have ever written. I'm not one for writing bad reviews, but I want people to be aware of the way this salon treats it's customers!

Jessica Perea always does an amazing job! I have been going to her for cut and color for about two years now and wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. The staff is always extremely friendly and the salon is nicely put together.

I finally decided that I was done coloring my own hair and I put my trust in Jessica at Chrome and I am SO glad I did. My color has never in all my years of coloring it ever looked better. I'm kicking myself that I didn't let her do it sooner.
All the stylists are really good at color and cut also, every time I'm there everyone  I see is walking away happy. It's been 5 years I first started going there and I won't go anywhere else.

4 years Later: 4 Years after writing the review below and I'm STILL going to Chrome. There is no salon better than Chrome PERIOD
And for me there is no better stylist than Jessica.
She is AH-MAY-ZING I've been coming to her for over 4 years and ever single time she nails it.

All the stylists at Chrome are fabulous and you can't go wrong with any one so you won't be sorry to have them as your stylist peeps.

But Jessica was a gift from my previous stylist when she left to go back east and I honestly think she could NOT have picked a better stylist.

Go to Chrome, you honestly won't regret it.

Blo Blow Dry Bar

I went to Blo Blow Dry Bar and I was placed with Dana. I have been looking for a person to work with my hair because it’s very curly and hard to work with. But the very first time I got with Dana she did an awesome job. I have yet to be disappointed. She’s done an excellent job with my hair every time. I highly recommend Dana.

I went to Blo for the first time and Dana did my hair, she was so fast and my hair was so beautiful!! i’ve been to many blow bars before but a friend of mine gifted me this appointment but I will be back!! this was the first time that I have gotten in and out so quickly considering I have such thick, curly hair . Natural hair girls please go see Dana you won’t regret it

Found this place back in November and have continued coming back! Place is clean, people are nice and I look great when I leave!

Pros:
- can buy a monthly membership with 2 blow outs included at a slightly lower rate.
- use good products on your hair
- can have your blow out done in under an hour
- are not heavy handed
- easy to book
- provide text confirmation and reminders of your appointment
- serve chocolate and champagne!!!

Cons:
- texting system has a couple flaws
- could potentially have to see different stylists (both the ones I've had though have been great but I know some people are funny about who they go to)
- if you're on the monthly plan, unused blow outs don't roll over

I love this place! I’ve been a member since February and it’s totally worth it! Dana is my favorite stylist. She makes my hair look amazing every time and the style lasts for days! Highly recommend!

I went in today as a last minute appointment. My stylist was Melissa and she was sooo wonderful. My hair was amazing and she was so incredibly knowledgeable to all things my hair needed.

Broadway Centre Spa & Salon

A most excellent salon in a very well restored downtown Bismarck historical building.  The service was good from moment I walked in the door. They made me feel welcome and were very polite and asking if I wanted a beverage. My stylist took time to get to know my hair preference and she was very personable and professional. I like the results a lot. The only thing bad for me is I don't live in Bismarck ND and was traveling so may not get to return. Highly recommend this beauty salon. It's spacious, clean and they did a great job.

Communication was horrible. I’m not a spa girl but received a gift certificate for much needed self care. Tried to communicate I only had a certain dollar amount so I’m not trying to add anything extra. She says she will throw eyebrow tint in. That was not the case and I paid for it. Dermaplane was horrible SO many missed spots. She didn’t take her time or communicate any aftercare instructions. Was very rude and made me feel uncomfortable. She was just there to upsell her horrible services. I expected a lil more but lesson learned and I will never take my business there. You should leave the spa feeling better NOT worse!!!!
