Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of Greater Tri Cities

Our insurance company hired this company out to get an estimate on some damage done to our home. Paul Davis never sent us a bill, they just called my husband and gave us a dollar amount we owe them for the report. We still do not know where they got this dollar amount from and it’s higher than what our insurance is telling us to pay. We asked for more information (a bill with an explanation for the dollar amount and an address to send the check to), again, they never responded to us. We even reached out to our insurance company in case the correspondence was going to them and they also had no information beyond a dollar amount (different than what Paul Davis is saying we owe.) Paul Davis just sent us a certified letter saying if we don’t pay, they will file a lawsuit. They still haven’t explained how they calculated the dollar amount they’re requesting. I will absolutely not be giving this company my business nor would I recommend anyone engaging with them.

I had an unfortunate water issue at my home over the weekend that required professionals. Derek and Phillip came to the rescue and were onsite in less than an hour. Their professionalism immediately gave me confidence that I had made the right call. They walked me through the process and what to expect in regards to the following days expectations and gave me a real sense of peace during a trying and stressful ordeal. Would recommend anyone in need of similar services give them a call!

Our home owners chose this company to conduct mitigation in our home from catastrophic water damage caused by a dishwasher leak. No care was taken of our possessions which were dumped into open boxes and left to be filled with dust and debris. Crews (never the same crew twice) were traveling five hours a day to reach the jobsite leaving them three hours a day to work and leaving us waiting on them hours and extending the mitigation by days while our home remained water logged. The lead manager of this outfit was rude, combative, verbally abusive, and misogynistic. He barked at me like I was his secretary and yelled at me on the phone. I have never been treated with such contempt as I was by him. His workers were driven like slaves and did not/could not exercise industry safety or carpentry standards in their work. Repair to their mitigation efforts have proven to be costly as subcontractors have had to repair their repairs. Do not let this company near to your home. OSHA needs to take a long hard look at this outfit.

My house caught fire on 12/1/19. I was 9 months into a difficult pregnancy. The insurance went through very smooth & they referred us to Paul Davis. The contractor from Paul Davis assured us they were going to get us back in our home as quick as possible considering our circumstances with the baby coming! We waited & waited with no work being completed! By the end of January (this being 2 months since the fire) half a days work had been done. The siding had been taken off & the inside was exposed to the elements! We had to go with another contractor who now also has to fix the damage caused from the elements being exposed. We were fortunate to get most of our money back but some was kept for bogus charges! I do not write reviews but felt this was necessary to keep anyone from having the difficulty & hardships with this company we have faced! They had 2 full months & some beautiful weather & only worked on the house for 1 day! That was 2 months our home was setting & we should have been living back in the home with our new bundle of joy easily. Run folks, find another contractor that’s my advice!

Joey came out and was very professional and detailed.  My insurance company sent him out to evaluate what was going on. Answer was not what i wanted to hear BUT..What stood out to me was his kindness.  Even in a stressful situation he made me smile. I can't say enough about Joey. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to work with Paul Davis Restoration and definitely Joey!

Ace Handyman Services Asheville

Adam happily fixed my leaky faucet and had extra time on the 2 hour minimum and offered to look at any other handyman issues I might have.  Very, very helpful.  I will use Ace Handyman when I need repairs they are worth every penny.

Not terribly impressed that I was billed $366 with the poor quality of work done. I needed the hinges on both fence gates fixed as the boards they were attached to were cracked and rotting. Instead of replacing two boards he just moved the bottom hinges higher up on the board and he didn’t even bother to fix or add screws to the higher hinges for added security, but instead added more nails to the fence board to keep it from falling off the post. I still have to lift my gate somewhat to fit it into the latch. He said it was $100 for parts…he only purchased 1 new hinge (which is probably close to $30). He used 2x4s that I already had in a wood pile in my yard to affix the hinges to the gate. Overall, my gates open/close, but not sure how long the job will last since the hinges are still affixed to rotting and cracked boards.

My handyman Adam was a great guy. But while installing the hanging metal storage rack on my garage ceiling he misinterpreted where the various screws were supposed to go. That caused at least a 15+ addition of time as he had to undo several screws to replace them with the correct ones in the directions by the supplier of the rack. I thought he should have at least deducted a quarter hour from the project cost. Especially since they charge a $60 trip fee on top of a standard $120 an hour rate. I’m glad I didn’t attempt the project myself but the 3 hour price tag of $420 plus tax was still $100 over another non-hourly quote. Probably will look elsewhere if another non-DIY project comes up.

We've had a fantastic experience with Ace Handyman Services. Adam has helped us out with several projects. He has been dependable and done excellent work. We also have had a really positive experience scheduling with Stephanie. Grateful to have found a handyman service that provides such great service and is a pleasure to work with.

I was able to get a appointment with two days of calling and the service was fantastic. The gentleman that came was friendly and quick. Our carpets had soil marks from pets and was definitely weathered and looked practically new after the treatment. I would highly recommend this business for their customer service, quality and price. I was very satisfied by the end product and bill for our carpet treatments.

I didn’t get the name of the gentleman who cleaned the carpets but he was friendly and professional. He explained what we needed to know and got the job done pretty quickly. He showed up about 4 minutes past the 30 minute window which is as good as on time to me and the price was exactly what I was quoted over the phone. The house smells nice but not overpowering. I’d use their services again and I recommend them to others as well.

Besides the fact that I love the feeling of the carpets and that there is no chemical type smell after having the carpets cleaned by any of the Chem-Dry services, this particular Chem-Dry of NW Florida did a great job! The technician was very kind, did a great job, and also didn't take as long as I thought he would. Very Impressed and will use them again!

Easy, quick appointment, they received a flawed windshield and set me up for a replacement immediately. They came back out at my convenience yet again. Nice guys and worked in the rain the 2nd time,  good thing for a garage, but guy never lost a beat and completed the job.

Took my car in thinking my rear window was leaking. The older gentleman working in the shop was very quick and went beyond to help me figure out where my car was leaking. Turns out it wasn’t the window at all it was actually the rear lights. He took his time using a water hose to help find it and even showed me where it was leaking. Super nice, super helpful! Didn’t charge me to look. Definitely will return when needed!

Stay away!!!!!! Everything was wonderful at first then at end of lease it all went wrong. I had a professional cleaner come in and even shampooed the carpets but then years later applying for rent to found out they put bad hit on my credit!!!!! They said cause i didn’t do a walkthrough with them and still some how apparently owe them 1000$ these people are crooks!!!!

I received my house dirty. I left with it clean. They still had the nerve to charge me $425.00 for a cleaning fee and $125.00 because “they needed to trim the bushes.” Ironically, when I arrived the yard maintained about as well as the house was “cleaned.” They also told me there would not be an inspection on my way out, and later called to ask why my power and water was off saying “we need the electric to carpet clean.” Even though the entire place was hardwood. They then charged me a fee to turn everything back on. I paid 1195 a month and only lived there six months, due to the military, and they still took my entire security deposit. Any time we needed any maintenance done on the house it was incredibly painful, and often they would say it’s not their problem. Highly unprofessional business, avoid them if you can.

P.S. they say they’re not the same company, but if you go on their website the rental section leads you to regency management.

I am only giving five stars because I don't want to bring down the real estate agency's score, my issue is with Regency management. They do not have a listing to leave reviews on, unfortunately.

Again, my issue is with Regency management. Our bathroom flooded late one night because of roots that were grown through the sewer pipe, and we called and left a message. It was a true emergency so we called a plumber and got him dispatched. Regency finally got back to us, and told us to turn off the water at the main line and cancel the other plumber and they would send someone out in the morning.
I asked her what we were supposed to do for bathroom and water until the morning? She responded with,"I don't know, go outside?"
Who wants to pay almost $1,000/month to have to go pee in the yard? We had the original plumber still come out, and they did reimburse us for his fee.
Melissa was our leasing agent, and it took an average of 2-3 messages for her to get back to us anytime we needed her.
There were a few times that she was just rude and condescending for no reason.
Upon move out, I called to schedule a walk through and was told because of COVID, they were not doing walk throughs but that she would call me to let me know if there were any issues. Oddly enough, they had no issue making us show the house to potential sellers while we were still living there, despite COVID.
I never heard anything back from Melissa, until around 60 days after move out when we got part of our deposit back. We had the home professionally cleaned, I cleaned the carpets and repaired damages. We were still charged over $1,000 for damages and cleaning, even though we hadn't heard that there were any issues.I guess we should just be grateful we got anything back.
Overall, I definitely would not rent from these guys again.

Rented out a house, spent the entire first week cleaning the dog hair out of the carpets, off the walls, cleaning black mold off the bathroom ceiling, and flea bombing my bedroom. It was my first rental & I don’t like to make issues out of situations I can fix myself, so I took care of the mess left from the previous tenant. Year & a half later I thoroughly cleaned the house to leave it in better condition than I moved in. I moved out and was charged $300 for cleaning fees (6-8 hours worth) in a 1100 sq. ft home. Told my property manager (tony) about some issues with the home while i lives there (I.e. the bedroom windows could not be opened or closed, the tracks were broken) & they did not fix it the entirety of the time I lived there, and rented the house out to the next tenant a week after I moved out. Safe to say they’re still broken. Took them exactly 60 days to get my security deposit back to me as well. My family would joke about how the house was operated by slum lords, in hindsight I’d say that’s a pretty accurate assumption.

America's Home Place - Athens, GA

America's Home Place of Athens just finished our home and we could not have asked for a better experience. Charlie, Skylar, Mandy, Justin and Bill were all great and easy to work with. This is the first house we had built and they made the process as seamless as possible. We would recommend them to anyone.

I would strongly recommend America’s Home Place in Athens, and their team to anyone wanting to build a custom home plan in this area. Mandy, Skylar, Charlie, and Bill have been amazing and extremely helpful during the process. Reviewing and customizing the home plan has been a great and easy experience thanks to their help. The building phase will begin soon and we are excited.

We are still in early stages of building but so far they have been excellent to work with at every step. We moved back home in June of 2020 to build a home on my family land. We had nothing but trouble trying to find someone that would do anything at all. I wish I had just gone to AHP from the very start.
Every person we have worked with, Cullen, Mandy, Bill, and Bobby have been wonderful and made this so easy and dare I say quick!
Lastly, I am having custom master closet and pantry work done by another company. When they came out to measure after framing was completed, they said this is BY FAR, the cleanest job site they had ever seen. Also they said the framers had done an awesome job and the measurements were dead on, apparently that’s unusual, and I’m guessing this closet company looks at some fairly high end homes. They were visibly and genuinely impressed.

Working with America's Home Place, Athens, GA office has been a pleasure!  Friendly service and follow through are consistent with a business that wants to do their best for their customers and vendors.  They are easy to communicate with and responsive to your needs. The locations I have photographed for them have been built well and are in excellent condition as the construction process is finalized for the new owners.  Solid, reputable company with a good moral compass that values their customers and vendors.

America’s Home Place is hands down the best place to go to if you are looking for a home builder in the Athens area. Their team is amazing and will go out of its way to get you exactly what you want. Highly recommend!

My kids broke the inside pane of their bedroom window, I called Glass Doctor and the next day they had a technician at my house to take measurements and give me an estimate. The price was reasonable and the tech was professional and efficient. It took a few weeks to get the glass ordered in but I was notified every step of the way and within a few days of getting my glass in their warehouse it was delivered and installed. A different technician installed, but he was also extremely kind, professional, and efficient. The window looks amazing and the quality of workmanship is top notch 👌.  I will definitely recommend to family and friends and they will be my go to call if my teenagers ever bust a window out again.

They came to my daughter's work and installed her new windshield so she didn't have to take time off work to go have it done. They were very kind and right on time. I got estimates from 6 places, and they were the lowest price I found. Would definitely use them again.

The replacement glass to my front door was difficult because it was an odd measurement, which the replacement was cut perfectly. The original glass was difficult to remove because not only was the glass glued in place but so was the trim .
The service rep worked very hard and completed the replacement as if glass and trim were the originals.  He also cleaned the area as when he found it. Thank you.  Great job.

I highly recommend Glass Doctor. I received friendly  professional service from scheduling to completion. Both technicians were courteous and showed respect for my vehicle. They replaced my windshield for $200 less than other places with quality parts and service.

Working with Paul Davis of Greater Asheville has been a fabulous experience. We came back from a vacation to find our water heater had ruptured, flooding our basement. Wish we had known about Paul Davis from the beginning! The way things worked out Paul Davis of Greater Asheville did an amazing job with the rebuild of our solid maple floor. From the first contact with Patty Myrick ( an outstanding, positive communicator), everything was fantastic, respectful and very professional. They ran like clockwork from the packers/movers/cleaners (shout out to Karina Paav, Cory Conrad, Cynthia Cortez, Quenani Penalota, Ana M. Cortez) who all demonstrated a high level of respectfulness and attention to detail; to Marcos and his floor guys (who did a superb job laying the floor with skill and precision); to Oswaldo the excellent painter (who made the rooms shine!). They came when they said they would, communicated throughly and throughout the process, brought skill and very cheerful positive energy to the space. Incredibly helpful and so skilled! I highly recommend Paul Davis of Greater Asheville for any restoration/rebuild needs.

Paul Davis Restoration came when I had a water leak in the wall behind my refrigerator. The ladies that came to move and clean things were wonderful! I was especially pleased with how careful they were with my china cabinet and all the things in it. They even put think back like I had them. They are amazing and I would definitely use them again if needed.

We had a fire in one of our properties. It was the first time we had ever gone through anything like it. Jan Paul was so thorough, helpful, and understanding with our questions and concerns. Terrible communication, I've waited 8 weeks for someone to come out and start working on some storm damage on my house. When they finally hired someone that someone arrived with the wrong sized boards for my ceiling.  They continued to paint the wrong boards and would not listen to how we did the process to come up with the correct color stain.  The workers were adamant that they knew what they were doing!!  we called sharon at paul davis to complain and all she wanted to talk about is that I needed to send her a deposit amount of $3200 before any more work can be done.   I said I dont feel comfortable giving that kind of if this is the kind of work that's being done already.  (The workers only worked for 2 hours)
This has been a nightmare with this company. ABSOLUTLEY NO COMMUNICATION!!! but what do you expect in this incompetent world these days!!  everyone is out for money and not producing Quality.

Update....The deposit was not a problem, the unprofessional work and handling of the project was the problem.  I was not asked to provide a deposit upfront until I complained that the work was not being done correctly.  If it make Paul Davis restoration Happy to tell There story a different way The'll have to realize one day that customers these days are wising up to The "good ole boy way" ....
I repeat when I shared my concerns that the job that was not being done properly The rep (sharrron) was very demanding of payment that I was just informed that I had to pay it up front that same morning that the workers were at the job sight.  Again I asked her "would you pay for something that You could see is already being done incorrectly?  Her answer to me was If I dont pay the money she was going to pull her crew off the job.  I stated back to her if this is how the job is going to go I would not give Her the $$$$ until she hired a competent company to do the job.  I don't understand why she could not reason with my request.  And another thing to Your response,  Sharron must have dropped the ball because I was in contact with her about finishing the job since the end of July.  again,  no responses to emails or phone calls until I kept after her to do something.

Paul Davis , you can tell your version if you want to but its not correct....!!!
