Shear Madness Haircuts for Kids

I took my 16 month old here to have his first haircut. I booked the “first hair cut experience” which was supposed to give us double normal appointment time to make sure everyone had time to get comfortable have fun. Right off the bat the stylist seemed to be in a hurry, did not listen to what we wanted from the haircut and definitely did not listen when I told her this was hard for me to see his curls cut. She didn’t encourage my child to get comfortable or give him time to adjust, actually cut his hair without the cape and kept telling him sternly to “sit still”. The entire cut probably lasted 5 mins. The haircut it’s self was awful and our first haircut experience was awful. The manager did a good job listening to our frustration and gave me the number to the owner who I still have not gotten a return phone call back. We will never be returning to any of their locations and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Couldn’t recommend Shear Madness enough! We are first time parents and brought our 2 year old here for her first hair cut. I was very hesitant because her hair is extremely curly. Kendra was our hair stylist and she was absolutely fantastic. From the friendliness to the employees, to the kid friendly environment. I really couldn’t think of a better place to bring our little girl! Will absolutely be returning for all future haircuts.

We had my one year old son’s first haircut at Shear Madness in Lee’s Summit today. Our stylist Maddy did such a great job and was so patient. My son was very squirmy and fussy the whole time and the cut still turned out great! I don’t know how she managed to do it but I’m very impressed! Highly recommend!

Great place to get a haircut for your kiddos.

There's different chairs for them to sit in: car, motorcycle, train, firetruck, etc. (6 vehicles total) so your kid can act like they're driving the whole time.

They're very kind for first haircuts and don't use clippers (just the scissors) to not scare the kid.

They have screens for each of the charis so the kids can watch their choice of show from a selection.

There's a lot of toys in the front of the store.

The haircut with the clippers wasn't perfect. Rather, it could have used some work. I think they probably think their clippers are barber grade (they are not), so they only go over the hair once when they should be going over it several times... and there were quite a few stragglers.

I will say, this would probably be a bad place to take a kid who gets overstimulated: toys, bright lights, lots of tvs, cars to ride. I imagine it would be hard for a child with sensory issues.

Took my  3 1/2 year old granddaughter to get a haircut Saturday. The girl obviously did not know how to just “trim”   Curly hair.  I could have done better.  Wish i hadn’t paid for seriously 3 maybe four snips and terrible braids( didn’t even part her hair straight ) Hair was uneven when we got home. Asked to have her bangs shaped up, wouldn’t trim them because she has curly hair.  If you can’t trim CURLY hair say so. Will NEVER go back there.

PickUp USA Fitness Lee's Summit

There is no better place than Pickup USA Fitness for comprehensive youth basketball development! I recently moved away and my son misses this place tremendously! Brian Boyer and his staff do an amazing job!!! If you are in the KC Metropolitan get a membership! You won't be disappointed!

My oldest grandson plays basketball in a men's league. This is where they play. It is nice and a clean, well kept place. On the left side are two full size basketball courts. The right front side of the building is a small gym/workout area. There is always someone at the front desk to help you and direct you to which court or what area you need.
This is a nice place. They do have the hard fold out bleachers though. I walk with a cane and it's a little hard to set on the bleachers for a long time.
I had a great time watching my grandson play in his "men's league."

Individual attention with coaching..  also pickup games afterwards.. 7 days a week with membership k..  can't beat that.  I'm satisfied

BEWARE. ..
Paid for 1 on 1 training for my son and did not get it. 1rst trainer was not engaged was focused on training his nephews under my paid 1 on 1 time. Day 2 I arrived then he texted me saying sorry he forgot he has someone else booked. ( After me driving 30 min. ) I then showed up a 3rd time he left b middle of practice to go train someone else. And ended training 15 min early. I finally spoke up and requested a new trainer. The 2nd trainer brought his son. I advised I paid for 1 on 1 training and he says he's training his son also regardless. ( Even tho my money was paid) open gym is cool at this place but no real training. . It all went down hill when I paid for 1 on 1 training. Money and time lost. Will not be returning to this facility ever again. Very unprofessional. And not happy w money list. Definitely did not get what I paid for

My son and I thoroughly enjoy this place.  The facility is always clean and spacious.   There are multiple courts to use for scrimmages or individual skill development.  The individual and group training sessions have dramatically improved my son's game.  The trainers are very knowledgeable and passionate about helping players get better.  I highly recommend this gym!

#Wax

Kelly was so awesome! It was my first time and she was very kind and provided plenty of info to help me through the experience! I will absolutely return. The office is so beautiful and clean. Definitely recommend!

I was totally nervous to get waxed especially being plus size. But Ari has been so amazing!! She has always made me feel so comfortable! I recommend #WAX  for all your waxing needs.

I've been to #Wax twice now and both experiences have been excellent. Kelly did my waxes and they are better than any I've had at previous places.  Very friendly, very fast, very professional. I also like that they make it easy to book online appointments, appt changes, etc.  Great place!

Kelly does a fantastic job and is the most thorough aesthetician I have found in the area.  I went to multiple places prior and left each place unsatisfied with the service and expertise I paid for.  Kelly has always gone above and beyond to ensure I was happy with the outcome of each service she's done.

She is fast, efficient, and soooo professional, so much so I really don’t even know I am there to get a Brazilian lol

Great gym that is definitely NOT your typical public commercial box gym.  National champion powerlifters train here. Membership is limited. Training available.

They have expanded to their floor space and also added more new equipment. There are also more limited memberships available.

Just had a very well run and attended Powerlifting competition there on Nov 18. It was great entertainment.

Conveniently located off the interstate this gym offers a clean and welcoming environment for those new to the gym scene to the most experienced.

This is a great place to work out. Clean and organized. Owner gets to know his members and always willing to get what is needed to make a persons progress.

Burn Boot Camp

Burn has really helped me transition from Minnesota and given me such a supportive and hardworking outlet! Everybody wants you to push yourself and the trainers encourage you and work with you to help you reach your goals. They really are dedicated to you!

I did my first day of my free trial and loved it! It provides childcare that my daughter loved and I didn’t feel guilty about bringing her there! The atmosphere was so welcoming and makes me want to continue coming!

I absolutely love Burn Boot Camp! When you hear "Boot Camp" it may sound intimidating,  however, at Burn, the trainers take care of you individually while leading a full class.  Every exercise has modifications you can ask for proactively,  or if the trainer sees you may benefit from doing a different exercise,  they will help you. Everyone is so friendly and supportive!!  Josh, Liz, Dan, Heidi, and the full training team are inclusive and care for every person, no matter your fitness level, shape, or size. Their focus is to  help each of us achieve our personal health and fitness goals!!

This place is absolutely fantastic.  A+ staff. I have put exercise on the back burner for a few years and the trainers and members have made me feel welcome and are so willing to help me when needed! Just give it a shot.  It's for everyone!

First week, and I am truly enjoying it. The child care was a huge deciding factor for me and the 45 mins are hard but oh so nice to take that time to work on my health. 10 out of 10 recommend giving them a try! First week is free 🙌🏽

Barre3

I love coming to Barre3 when I need some "me" time. It is a good workout, and the instructors are encouraging throughout the whole thing.

I can't say enough good things about this place and the people there! The instructors are warm and encouraging, and the studio is beautiful (and always super clean!). I love that the work outs are completely modifiable, and I love that I always leave feeling strong and empowered. I'm so thankful that barre3 came to Sioux Falls!

I cannot say enough good things about barre3! From the friendliness of the staff to the community of members to the workouts....everything is top-notch. Not only do you get a physical workout, but the mental clarity is also an added bonus after a workout. If you have not taken a class, I highly recommend stepping into the studio and signing up for one!

Very welcoming and friendly! It is a nice, clean studio with everything you might need.  Love that you can just come and get a great total body workout without having to worry about bringing any special equipment.

I took Rachel’s class recently and she was an amazing instructor! Great cueing to get me deep into the muscles! The studio was so clean and the staff was warm and friendly.

Club Pilates

The classes and instructors have been good, but prospective clients should be aware of the policies and class schedule of this location.
Over the past few months this location has decreased the number of evening classes during the week and no longer has classes on Sundays.  The packages are not flexible and the credits do not roll over.  Due to these factors I opted to cancel my membership, the cancellation policy requires a 30 day notice, therefore I had to pay for another month on my membership per my billing cycle.  I received my normal credits for the month and scheduled the classes, however, the cancellation went into effect 5 days prior to my final billing cycle ending, resulting in a forfeit of 2 credits.  I called the studio and they tried to help, but after discussing with their management I was told it is policy and there was nothing they could do.
Again, due to the decreasing number of classes, I forfeited a total of 5 of my 8 credits over the last two months.

New owners new issues.  I wanted to try club Pilates again after some serious issues with the previous ownership.  But they only allow memberships that are 3+ months.  I live outside the United States so just wanted to continue my daily pilates while in Sioux Falls for the summer but they are inflexible on memberships so can't even try again

My body loves Pilates.  It has improved my flexibility functionally and mobility. I am a human. I move around all day long. I play golf and chase my kids. The owners are first class professionals and the instructors are very passionate so much so that it’s contagious.  Come on ...get out of your rut...improve your body and mind...take an intro class and change your life...you can thank me later. Blessings:)
