Walmart Supercenter at Stateline and 135th.
Clean well lit building. Shelves were stocked and organized. For the day before Christmas I expected it to be busier.

I’m not a fan of check yourself out or bathrooms that aren’t clean.

WalMart is always an experience.  Fewer checkers and more self check-outs.  But this year they have lots of cute Christmas sweaters, onesies and dress up clothes.  They have sure to win ugly sweaters from the cow with "Christmas Mood" to the Flamingo (personal favorite).  One of the best Christmases  my 3 friends and I all dressed up in Christmas attire like the below, going out on the town.  It was a huge hit and lots of memories..... so check out Walmart's Christmas section before it all sells out.

This experience was horrible to say the least!
I was there to pick up  tires that I purchased online.  I had planned to schedule an installation but......
When I got to the outside service door for customers,  it was locked. An employee of the store was trying to exchange a battery and was also surprised.  I stayed in my car,  calling the service number for the next 15 minutes.  Finally drove to the front and customer service said and assured that someone would be back there to assist when I drive back around.
Nope, I actually knocked loudly on the door.  Sat on the bench and  called every number for the store with no luck,  no response.
Drove back to the front,  walked to the service center and found two employees working by the door I was knocking on.
When I received my purchase,  they were plopped in my basket and I was expected to put them in my car.  Thankfully the Very nice security guy walked out and loaded them into my car.

I had a question regarding shopping, and I asked for help with one of the lead on this store. He called someone on the radio, and I waited more than 25 minutes; I saw him again near Aisle 1, and then he hide.

The Walmart at 133rd & State Line needs better management. They are out of a lot of products & they don't keep their shelves restocked even when they have the groceries on pallets in the back of the store. Sitting on revenue because, too cheap to higher stockers. Some items sit empty for months. And, we are paying for the theft at this store, they allow them to walk out so they raise the prices for the honest people to pay for it. The police that monitor the store said they could get sued for stopping a thief if they don't see them take it. There are cameras everywhere & they still can't control their store. I witnessed a 20 year old male exit the store by slipping through the entrance gate with a bulging backpack on his back. He almost ran me down when he had to veer around my cart to the exit door. While this was happening a Walmart associate was checking a receipt of another shopper trying to exit, he had his back to the view of the entire room. You check a receipt, face the entire room next time!!!!!

Westlake Ace Hardware

Just left Westlake on 11-10-23 about 6:15pm on Independence ave. I was in line and the young man in front of me had around 6 items the cashier rang them up and then the young man said something to the cashier and walked off. I asked what is he doing she responded he went to get another item. I responded your kidding. I then laid the item down I was going to purchase and left. "Wow" not only was that unprofessional of the cashier that was rude. Westlake train your people better. I will shop elsewhere from now on.

A decent Ace Hardware. They have minimal turnover because I persistently see several long term employees over the last 3 years in the area. The store is decently kept and a helpful staff. I wish they had a better selection of some things, but it has 90% of anything you would need to build a house. Key cutting and knife sharpening is a nice touch.

Helpful employees, was a little put off on how expensive their animal accessories were tho but overall pleased with my experience so far!

We went in to get a quality grounded ext. cord and after looking around at the entire stock & comparing all the specs we found a really great one. It was a 25ft med. duty grounded one marked at $16.99, GREAT, the others we liked were & 35+! I didn't think it was too odd since they had others (granted not quite as good) around the same price. At the register the cord rang up for $36.99 so the cashier checked it & YEP that was the price. I explained that was hanging with a few of the same cords on a peg marked with the low price then took an employee back to show them. The employee found I was right but soon discovered that almost all the cords were hanging on the wrong price hooks. I asked if they would be willing to honor the price b/c well that is where it was. They had the assist. manager come out & after watching both the employee & assist. manager go through everything to see how wrong the display was set up & looking to see what overrides they could do on the price I asked if they would be able to meet me in the middle of what the price said & what it should actually be - the assistant manager agreed and apologized for not being able to do the much lower price. Honestly I know some people will still think they should have done the lower price but the employees don't make the rules & there is only so much they can do without getting in trouble themselves PLUS they could have easily said "nope it's the price that the bar code reads".

So thank you to the employees that were incredibly helpful & very fair Randy, Keyon & Mary (hope I got all the names right!)

It's nice to shop somewhere the employees are helpful & do what they can to accommodate customers. It seems to happen less & less especially at big chain businesses.

Yesterday, Dana and Joe, from Westlake (6201 Independence Ave), helped getting a 2nd car key and fob, for our car!  They did a great job! We really appreciated it and saved us money! Another Associate, Morgan, also helped me when paying with a my new card, but it was declined. I was about use my primary card, when Morgan said I entered a wrong pin number, but I couldn't remember it. She said try it again, and use it as credit, and it worked! 3 great Associates at this store!

Was asked if I needed help twice, found what I was looking for and was checked out promptly. Great looking new store. Very clean. Very friendly staff

On the smaller side for a Westlake, but they have most of what you would need for small projects around the house. Very friendly staff and willing to help you out around the store. Very clean and well-stocked.

RIDICULOUSLY expensive!  Unless you are on fire and need an extinguisher, go to blue or orange. Some items, electrical, 100 % over priced.

I prefer to go in the mornings before it gets busy. They have self checkout which I prefer. Regular lines get crazy long of course. Always a big selection for food & clothes. Saw these dolls while picking up a birthday gifts and they were all messed up. They need better quality control for what they put on the shelves. Lots of $5 dvd's with good kids movies. Nice deals on TVs

I placed a pick up order through the app and it went to the wrong location which I didn't realize until I had arrived at my regular location and no one came out when I said I was ready to pick up my order. I attempted to call this location for the better part of an hour including trying multiple departments and I was either put on hold or it rang for over 10 minutes each time. Still have not been able to talk to anybody but the pharmacist who did transfer me over to the front desk again only to be put on hold for a fifth time. Don't know if my order has been canceled officially and they're also telling me that in addition to it potentially not getting canceled at all that I could bring the order back if I drive the 30 minutes out of my way to pick it up at the wrong location. What?

Wish I could rate lower than 1 star. This store has rude employees. I brushed it off the first time, thinking that someone might be having a bad day. But I’ve been back twice since and they are all just rude and not friendly at all! Won’t be going back to this location.

I'm not a picky customer BUT I do take my personal safety very seriously. Due to the convenience, I occasionally go to this store at I-70 and 40 Hwy in Independence near Sterling blvd. Almost every time I go to that location I see people doing things that are bad with customers or to customers. Being a former US Marine I typically just shake my head in disbelief. Two nights ago that changed. I will not go back there again. In front of the security, KCMO Police, a car slowly drove by and the passenger threw a container at me as I was walking to my truck. No one else was around.  I saw the person who did it but I did not want to get into any type of altercation.  Whatever was in the container got all over me and it was disgusting.
Don't go there. It is not safe!

Worst customer service ever..I waited at self checkout for 30 mins for a price change on something that was marked incorrectly.  Had to go find my own manager becuase the self check out person did nothing.

I went there to purchase the fairy lights.  I love them.  They are perfect for my white Christmas tree.  You can't tell that they are on the tree unless they are on.

They are just too expensive. And the "deals " are a joke. If you are a rewards member be sure to read the fine print of the coupons and rewards bucks they send you, it's a slap in the face honestly. If you care about good deals and saving money DO NOT GO HERE. but If you need convenience at the last minute and somewhere close to home then this place could work, just be prepared to pay a little more.

Ive been coming to this Ace store for 4 years to get my propane refilled weekly to heat my garage in the winter. Just today I went in for some home repair items. Im always treated like a milllionare. The employees are friendly, professional and polite. They are superior to the local raytown walmart employees who are ALWAYS rude and unprofessional.

Typically, they have everything, especially little, obscure, specialty nuts, bolts, or screws. Staff is almost always helpful and either knows how to help or takes you to a colleague who knows. This is my first stop for hardware store purchases.

I enjoy shopping at Westlake Ace Hardware, especially at the Raytown (Hwy 350) location.  The folks there always work with me professionally and patiently.  I've always been able to find what I need and there's always a smile whenever I come in.  Thank you!

Walmart not only seems to be increasing their prices, but they are also lacking sufficient open registers for Real Life members (but that's a different issue I won't get into here).
However, my recent experiences with Walmart's meat department have been highly disappointing. Over the past week (from 9/5 to 9/7), I visited multiple Walmart locations in hopes of purchasing a pork shoulder, only to find that they were all spoiled - and I mean ALL of them.

At the first location, I had to return the meat twice, thinking that it might have been an isolated incident. I exchanged it for a new one, but upon arriving home, I was met with the same unpleasant, rotting odor as the first piece (back to the store I went).

Feeling determined, I decided to give a different Walmart location a chance, one that was 20 miles away. To my dismay, they were facing the exact same issue with their meats. It seemed like every cut of meat in there had an smell that could only be described as if death itself had taken a sh!!t and left it as a reward for the lucky buyer.

My advice: steer clear of Walmarts for your meat purchases.

We, along with 2 other customers, had to ask 3 employees and still have been waiting here for 15 minutes to get into a locked cabinet and still nobody has shown up, and no, the store is not busy. Still waiting as I am writing this review. It's should NOT be this hard to buy lube! No matter who you ask, they are disinterested in helping anyone with anything.

I’ve been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes waiting for my groceries that were ordered before this afternoon. It’s 7:45 pm. I’ve been here since 6:30 and I’ve watched several cats who pulled in after me already leave with their groceries. Keep calling the number but it goes straight to voicemail.

After having numerous issues with my delivery order, and a whole 2 day ordeal dealing with online orders. Isaiah from pickup and delivery who just started working there was the only person in this whole store who has helped me this much. This person deserves a raise at the very least. If more people like him worked there then the world would have truly awesome people. 5 stars Isaiah, good job.

Good convenient store for wine and beer near state line but there are issues.  They have more traffic than other stores in kc so some items will be sold out.  Our last curbside order had 30 items and 5 were sold out.  If you only want food, you'll get better luck in south jo co stores.

I recently went in to purchase plumbing parts and found out Ace let my favorite manager go.
Clint was one of the best Managers the Liberal store had. No matter what time of the day I went there I would see him working his tail off to make sure everything was in order at the store. He would make it a point to assist customers when they walked in the door.
I'm just not impressed with the decision of letting him go. Now I go to the other hardware stores in Liberal.

Called to make sure they had ABS black pipe. Assured me they did...with plenty of fittings even.  Great! I drive 85 miles & the woman I spoke to says, Here, we have this gray pipe. It's the second thing!
Uh NO, it isn't the same thing.

Nice store friendly staff, was able to locate what I needed at fair price. Good place to go to find those hard to find items.  I would recommend.

They are always helping you find what you need, very friendly atmosphere!

Dillard's

This is an awesome vintage department store.   I came in here to film the elevator.  They have an awesome 1974 Montgomery elevator that is glass.  Only reason this is 3 star instead of 5 is because an employee gave me very dirty looks for simply appreciating their vintage elevator.   She also followed us around the store as if we were shop lifters or something after we rode the elevator.  Apart from. That. The store is clean and very well stocked as well.  Also clean toilets as well.

The Dillard’s in Independence Center is very nice. We were doing some very last minute Christmas shopping and the staff in both the men’s and women’s sleep ware were helpful, and personable. Even though it was right before Christmas, they still had nice items on display and the different sections were well stocked. You aren’t allowed to carry items from one section to the next while you shop without putting them on hold, back on the rack or purchasing, so keep that in mind if that would make a difference to you

I was literally terrified. I was in the section where they have all of the pretty dresses. This lady with tattoos worked in that section of the store and at first I thought she was a cool lady but then she started acting off. She kept making loud noises with the metal signs on top of the wracks. Every wrack I looked at she came to the wrack and started making loud noises with the metal signs on top of the wracks. I don't know if she was on drugs or just liked the noise of clanging metal but it made it difficult to shop under those conditions. She continued to follow me around and move the signs on the wracks for no reason. I felt so uncomfortable. I felt so much anxiety and fear that I felt forced to spend $200 for these two dresses. She kept making noises and getting very close that I honestly just wanted to hurry up and buy the dresses and leave. Even after I bought the dresses she still followed me around as if bullying me to buy more items or possibly stalking I am not sure why she did this. I could not even truly look for a dress to buy for this Gala I am going to. She also kept looking at me in the dressing room and I felt uncomfortable. It was like she was stalking me. Even after we purchased the items she still stayed near us. It was just so creepy. It was the creepiest thing I have ever experienced. I felt bullied and pressured into buying these items because of the way this woman was acting. I was scared of this woman. I did not know why she wanted to follow me around.

Went for a gala dress. They have a large assortment of gowns and dresses. The plus size section was sparse, especially the junior plus section. Everyone working there was very nice and we had no issues getting a dressing room open whenever we needed one.  Prices were average for formal dresses

Dillard’s has done a lot to make the store look excellent!!  Loved the displays especially in the beauty department Kiehl’s branding.

Lots of excellent sales!  Even though the mall is dead as a door nail, Dillard’s still has it going on.

School of Rock

An outstanding group of people.  They are both flexible and patient with working professionals who don't always have the time to practice and sometimes can't make class.

We had our son's birthday party here and it was amazing!! Julie was incredible to work with for the party, making everything easy! The staff that worked with the kids were great! They kept it fun while teaching instruments and music to young kids. They had a very short period of time to work the kids, but the kids all had a blast! Lots of smiles, giggles and awesome memories!

School of Rock camp is the summer favorite in our house!

The kids learn so much in one week!  Music, team work, self confidence, the list goes on and on.

We can’t recommend this program enough.

School of Rock Lee's Summit has taught my child so much, not only as a musician, but also as a team member.  He has made good friends there and is fully supported by all of the staff members.  We love it here.

We LOVE School of Rock. We love it so much that we drive two hours each way so that my daughter can participate. Instructors are amazing. She is challenged every week to be a better musician. The friendships she has made are so valuable. We appreciate this program so much!

Don is the man!! Scott the new manager is amazing and friendly as well, happy to have all the staff there. So welcoming and knowledgeable too!

This Ace Hardware is well-kept and the people are great - specifically Debbie. Debbie always provides thoughtful, next-level customer service. She hooked me up with a calendar last time and I know someday she'll get me signed up for the rewards too. I kept saying I don't come in very often, but it's becoming a go-to spot! 10/10 would recommend visiting this store to experience the service they provide.

Westlake ACE Hardware is a one-stop merchant for just about anything you need or want for home repair,  yard maintenance,  or tools and fun stuff. They're close, and more convenient than the big home stores ,

Just had to make a Review,  I been going the this location now for about 2 years,   Mostly for Lawn Care and EGO Power items,  One person seems to always be around to help me out.   DON, this guy has answered every random question i have asked, and in detail.  I always get a little education every time i stop in.   Thanks for making this ACE the PLACE.
