Mr Gyro's Greek Food & Pastry

Mr. Gyro's has been my go-to for Greek take-out for as long as I can remember. As the name implies, the gyro platter is great stuff. I also like to get a small Greek salad on the side. The dressing is excellent, and for a small salad it's a lot of food. If you're in the mood for dessert, they've got a whole case full of excellent pastries. I've literally never had anything I didn't love. Though I tend to get carry out, I've dined in on occasion in the past and found it pleasant outside the lunch rush (though I miss the screens showing video of landscapes and small town scenes from Greece).

I've been noticing this gyro place for a long time It was pretty good They had their gyro sandwich that was decent size and did need extra dressing and it is a place that is fast food like to get something Greek after all especially if you want gyros l.

there was a rude boomer in line ahead of me who screamed at the cashier but she did such a good job at handling her. looks like all the bad reviews are just old people that have never been told no. My service was pristine, she was so nice.
to the snarky ungrateful boomers in the comments, learn how to speak to cashiers. So glad this place puts their employees first. Don’t see that often anymore

Normally love this place. Food is great. Staff is a bit abrupt. We usually eat at the Overland Park location (83rd and Metcalf).

In line at 6:21 this evening to order food fire dine-in. The staff member behind the counter starts pulling the floor mats and piles them up on the customer side of the counter. Keep in mind the store will not close for 1.5 hours. People were sitting on the bench right next to the grouse stinky stack of floor mats.

This is at least the third time I’ve had this experience. The staff has no regard to how this impacts their customers. Tonight a gentleman in a wheelchair and all other customers had to make detours around the pile.

This was purely a convince for 1 staff member. Trying to get her side-work done early.

We did a catering order for 50 people today and everything went great! The food was ready at the promised time, everything was packed well, and the portion sizes were great for an office with young men. The food itself was warm and tasted amazing. Thank you for the great catering experience!

The Big Biscuit

If you love biscuits and gravy, this one is mighty fine!

Capped off a weekend visit to KC with a stop at The Big Biscuit.  This place overall had been talked up highly by a few friends and this particular location did not disappoint.

Service was friendly and prompt, we chose to sit at the counter as seats were open.  Our server greeted us almost immediately and we were off to breakfast wonderland.

I love biscuits and gravy. The pursuit of the perfect B&G is a bit of a lifelong chase and this is one of the finest!

Perfect biscuits, made in house, served with a nice topping of sausage gravy.  I could use a bit more gravy, but that is no complaint.  Delicious and crispy hash browns with cheese complimented the B&G well.

The place was busy and one customer was grouchy with the staff about something, but overall we were 100% satisfied and would definitely stop again next time we are in the area!  I even took home some merch which is a rarity in my stops!

When you come to Kansas you gotta stop here or any of their other locations. The service & food is on point. My mom came in from out of town & she loved it. I would highly recommend any visitors to check them out plus the price is right. This is what I had & was full after a few bites.

The outdoor tables could use some work. Food came out fast but was meh. Server was okay. Convenient location. Turkey/chicken sausage would be a great addition, which the server said they didn't have.

Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy as they were phenomenal! The cinnamon roll pancake was a little underwhelming for flavor and the hash browns were good on flavor, just a little too greasy for my liking.

My favorite breakfast place, locally owned and growing company, always great food, expanding to new locations, best pancakes in the city, quick and friendly service, Biscuits YUM!

Walmart

Went to this location to buy a marine battery. 1st rep I asked to unlock the cage to get the battery didn’t speak English. 2nd one didn’t speak English but understood that I needed a battery. Left and never came back. 3rd rep understood English said he didn’t have keys and would be back, never showed up. Finally I grabbed a manager and she unlocked the cage. Poor customer service, parking lot was a challenge as you dodge customers fighting for a parking space. I’ll never come be back

This is the worst Walmart that I've visited in the KC Metro. I was there for less than five minutes because they didn't have the three items I came in for (kosher salt, ground beef, and a refill PK of eclipse gum).

First, I think they're probably being robbed blind. In five minutes I saw at least three separate individuals blow through the entrance gates with products in their hands and then run for the parking lot. On an aisle I was shopping, I'm pretty sure I saw someone stick product of their shirt out of the corner of my eye. When I got to the front of the store, they were several employees just standing around chatting as the entrance alarms went off. No one seemed to even be paying attention.

Second, as I said above, they didn't have three simple things I was shopping for. I've been let down by the store many times in the past and this would be the last visit for me.

Finally, the place is filthy.

I do not recommend. I never have what I need and I think the place is downright dangerous.

Terrible customer service, asked an employee to get something out of a case and was told I needed to go to customer service. Went to customer service they paged overhead and I waited around 15 minutes for no one to show up, went back and they paged again. Waited another 10 minutes for no one to show up and my girlfriend and I had to track down several employees to eventually get someone who had a key to unlock it. Every employee we had asked pretty much said the same thing and that was to ask customer service.

The only reason I don't give one star is because it's close to my house. Almost all of the employees look like they wish they were anywhere else in the world. Listening to the way the manager talks to his staff, it's apparent why they feel that way.

I rarely go to Walmart to begin with because I usually have a less than pleasant experience. They have now completely lost my business. I was there trying to find something when I had 3 different young boys who worked there walk right past me and ignore me when I tried to get their attention. I finally was able to ask one of them for help when he called for another employee to come help me and then the boy he called over looked at me, turned his back, and walked away. The other boys were off with their friends who came into the store to visit. I complained to a manager and they knew exactly who I was referring to. That alone should say enough. It is beyond frustrating but really just extremely rude more than anything. Stop hiring young kids if you’re going to just reinforce unacceptable behavior and awful customer service. Doesn’t seem like you’d be missing much without them.

Gyro Grill KC

Absolutley love this place for a Mediterranean fix.  The all meat plate was great for my diet, the greek salad was perfect for my wife and my kid loved the chicken birani (sorry for the spelling).  Its a cozy environment pretty simple, but the service was great, and we will definitely be back!  Highly reccomend.  Oh the hummus dish was incredible!!!!

I like a good gyro, gyro has an okay sandwich.  Their hummus was good but really runny.  I would prefer Aladdin’s or Jerusalem cafe.  Good but not great.

Really awesome gyro Philly on pita, crispy, hot fries, yummy appetizer but the salad was a disappointment. It was huge, but not high on flavor. Nothing like salads in Greece, Turkey or Egypt. Staff was super friendly and helpful in what to order!

We came here for my Dad's birthday. The food is great, I order the Chicken Shawarma Combo with Yellow Rice. When I visited, the place is a work in progress. Nonetheless the atmosphere here is amazing. Definitely would recommend! (4-25-23)

I ordered the gyro plate combo. It was excellent! The staff were very nice and the ambient music made for a good dining experience.

Papa Murphy's | Take 'N' Bake Pizza

Great place to get a "take and bake" precisely the size of the pie, and with your choice of crust type, ingredient combinations, and even seasoning. No place to eat here, though. YOU supply the oven, which can be preheating while you head home with your creation.  It's GREAT pizza, made your way.

Everyone was so friendly especially Van the person that prepared our order. Love this place.  Great place to get pizza on the go at a great price.

I've gone to this location for years, so it's sad for me to rate this place low as the staff and quality of food are great. But damn, $15 for a medium pizza that you still have to bake at home? I just can't justify how expensive it's gotten.

I never thought I'd like the idea of baking my own pizza back when this first came out. But now years and years later, I absolutely love everything about it. I order & pay online, swing by & grab it off the rack, & I'm on my way home.

I will go out of my way to specifically drive to this location. It’s clean. The staff is polite and super helpful. The Manager works alongside his crew and you can tell they all get along and work well together. This store is not really even close to where I live but I won’t go anywhere else for my Papa Murphy’s Pizza.

I ordered a simple family size cheese pizza, got home ready to take off the saran wrap, and noticed bugs where crawling around in my pizza. Called the store to speak with a manager, no Manager was there. I was told to bring my pizza back up with my receipt for a refund or to remake my pizza. They are apparently unable to give refunds over the phone. Here I am unable to go there due to extracurricular activities with kids after school. (The main reason I stopped and grab a pizza, quick dinner) so money not well spent. Will never go back to this location. I took a video but it will not let me upload here so I have screen shot the best I can to post.

We have gotten Papa Murphy’s salads and pizzas for as long as it has been there on North Oak. Always given excellent friendly service and I feel like I’m part of the family when I walk in there. Their pizzas are second to none because you build them and they just put them together and you bake them at home fresh anyway you want to. Add salad lovers. Their salads are individually made to order and my wife and I usually get one salad and split it with one pizza but if you just wanna make a salad your dinner, it is more than enough quality ingredients to make a meal.. I have tried other pizza places the last one Papa John’s did not have 2/3 of the ingredients on a very simple chicken barbecue pizza. The ingredients did not even come to Within 2 1/2 to 3 inches of the edge of the pizza very little chicken, will never eat there again. From now on, it’s Papa Murphy’s. Always.❤️

If you don't mind taking a little extra time to cook your pizza when you get home Papa Murphy's is the way to go! They're awesome

I have ordered food from this location for YEARS, but they lost me as a customer. I ordered a salad,  large pizza, and Smores dessert through Doordash. We started to eat the salad, and, thank goodness, I noticed the FURRY clumps of diced tomatoes before ingesting any. (see pic) Salads are eaten raw, so we could have gotten sick from the rotten produce! And, I checked the date on the salad container, which said it needed to be sold by that day's date. Obviously, if you put old ingredients in a salad and call it fresh, you're wrong. Freshly made and fresh ingredients are two different things. So, since I cannot trust this restaurant with my health and safety, I won't be ordering from them again.

I placed my order online and expected it to be ready 30 min later when I showed up. It wasn't.  So I sat and waited as there were alot of people in there. I notice they were taking new orders and only making the new orders. I finally get one person's attention and asked if they planned on making the online orders. She digs through a pile of receipts and say oh yeah here you are and then they made it finally.  I didn't really look at the pizza quality until I got home as I was just frustrated.  Get home and the pizza crust is much thinner than normal, the quality of how they made it was a mess. I will never go back to that location.

Red Lobster

Very disappointed 😞  we got tablespoon of food for a high dollar price 😕 😪 😒 😑 Waited 45 minutes for our shrimp
UPDATE 2023. Went on my Birthday dinner. Was the worst service and worst food ever. Sprouts was burned. Lobster tail was extremely small and cold. Service was extremely slow. We will never return.

Went in for the endless shrimp special. It was $22 even though Google said it was $20!  Good choices.  I think looking back, 3 types of shrimp for $18.00 would have been enough!  Drinks are pricey, but have a few options for $5.00!

I go to this Red Lobster every year on my birthday… This year was no exception. In fact, this year might have been my best experience at Red Lobster ever.

I just left, and I think I am so full that I might not have to eat for the next three day.

It’s always delicious, always filling, the cheddar biscuits are always excellent (and I love that if you ask for some to go, they will give you a bag of biscuits to go), and the shrimp scampi is always to die for.

I have to give an extra special shout out to our waiter, Casey. Casey is up there with the best waiters I have ever had at any restaurant. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic about the menu, accommodating to all needs, and even asked if he could help with things before we even asked for them. Casey even noticed that my parents had brought a gift bag and brought me a birthday brownie to help celebrate my birthday… No one even told him it was my birthday, he just did it out of the kindness of his heart and his attention to detail. He genuinely made us feel at home, and I could tell that he was genuine in his approach and enthusiasm and kindness in general. He is the type of person I would want working at my restaurant, if I had one, and he is the type of person I would want working anywhere that I owned. If there’s one reason that that I would pick this one over that another… It is Casey’s helpfulness. If you are Casey’s boss, give him a raise! And, if you’re going to Red Lobster… We sat in the section to the right of the door, and make sure to ask to sit in Casey’s section.

Food was great, I ordered steak and it was on point which I didn't really expect being it's a seafood restaurant. My friend had the salmon and 2 different styles of shrimp and he couldn't get enough. Of course the biscuits were amazing.
Waiter was great, space was clean and quiet. Definitely would go back.

Took my wife for a Friday date night. The food was good, though the service was outstanding. Dusty was attentive, had good suggestions and was very personable. It's been a long time since my last visit and the place did not have that "nice, fancy dinner out" vibe that I remember from when I was younger. It was moderately busy and they were clearly understaffed but it was still an enjoyable experience. It was not packed with people waiting outside like I remember either. Though it was chilly out so that may have had an impact.  Overall a good experience but not the wow I was hoping for.

Walmart Supercenter

I am here visiting family. Basically I have to say that if I didn't know that I was in another state...it feels that if you've been to one Walmart, you've been to them all. This one felt like the rest. However, there was only self checkout available. I have a spine injury and sometimes it's difficult for me. It would've been nice to have 1 lane open as an option for those who need a bit of help. But signs of the times.
The produce department was very nice and fresh.
Overall nice store...clean

Great store. Even as some prices are skyrocketing, Walmart keeps certain everyday items affordable. This store is always clean. Checkout is fast. This is my go-to store for groceries, clothes, and much more!

Came in for an oil change, as you can see from the pictures, it obviously wasn't done. Look how brown the oil is. Fresh oil is always a very light color. Don't know if you can tell from the dip stick that it is dark and over filled. Also, now my tire censors don't work either.

Walmart has become a mess since the cashier less check outs have come out. The isles are always filthy. When you need help you can't find it. Cardboard pieces laying around. Sam would roll over in his grave if he could.

Ordered 4 Chineese food dinners.  The gentleman helping me was extremely helpful & nice.  Sesame chicken was delicious.

Shell

Wow. Cashier with the glasses that has camouflage pants, gray shirt, bun held up by hair clip. Yeah she’s the rudest gas station cashier I’ve ever met.
I went to the wrong register because that’s where she was sipping her drink she goes “over there.” I said “oh sorry I did think you guys usually don’t use this register” and walked to the other side.  that was the ONLY thing she said during the whole process.  Not a total. Not “do you need a bag”. Very uncomfortable process.
Every time she is there , she is rude.
The older lady that works here as well, she is SOOO wonderful. My 6 year old loves to see her there!

I like this store always nice friendly and customer oriented.  The only issue I have are the posted prices aren't correct and I'm always charged more like everytime I gohere. When I Mentioned being overcharged by .60 was told nothing she could do because the manager wasn't there 🙄. This isn't acceptable. You need to be trained on all functionality before you get a customer that may not be as kind as me. Now I go somewhere else for it.  Watch your money!

This happened today not to long ago…I’d like to say that for the most part of the workers from this location are great…yet it is one employee that not alone yelled at me, but also throw my item on the counter…I then go to try and reason with Danielle about her being disrespectful for her to tell me that I’m done, and walk off! If you have problems out side of work…leave them at home specially if you deal with ppl as you job…

Stopped there for the first time today to buy a pack of cigarettes 🤦‍♀️.  I shared with the cashier, LeeAnn, that I had quit smoking in November 2021, but was stressed about something and I thought I just had to have a cigarette!  Well, LeAnn knew better and talked me out of it.  What a fabulous person - she absolutely made my day!  While I was there, I also noticed how friendly and personable she was to every customer who walked in. We need more people like LeeAnn in the world, especially during these trying times.  Thank you, LeeAnn!!!

Fraudulent transactions and customer service that will make your head spin. You better hope they get your transaction right or you’ll have to deal with the manager who believes that something is impossible just because he doesn’t understand it. They won’t go the extra mile, even if it’s their fault and will belittle you if you call to ask them to do what they need to do to fix their mistake.

I had a great experience today, although my team did not win my dining experience won!!!  Aubree was my server, and she set my game up and made sure she checked on me just frequently enough and definitely was not bad on the eyes.

I ordered the Buffalo platter and requested that my wings be originally fried. Well, they came out naked 😔....but I was very pleased how they made sure that my order was corrected with ease. The manager even came to my table to make sure I was satisfied.

I visited this location last week and was very disappointed with the wait staff. No host at the door, bar staff was too busy to acknowledge anyone, and sat for 10 minutes before even being acknowledged despite sitting next to the aisle all servers used to get to the back. Priority was about getting closed up instead of tending to customers (there was over an hour of open time left).

The food was quite delicious, but also took another 10-15 min to receive.

This is the same atmosphere as years ago which was one of many reasons I didn’t return. Unfortunately, I will again not be back anytime soon.

Oh we had a blast!   The food was great and the waitresses were extra sweet.  It was my nephew's 26th birthday and they all came together and sang Happy Birthday to him and they let us take a picture of him with them.   They had live music, they had a young man in the corner playing jazz solo guitar and it really added to the evening.

Where do I start? We used to go here in the past frequently when they had the previous garlic parmesan wings before what they currently offer. The sauce was so good you could drink it.

My husband and I decided we'd order from here after not going for awhile and as we were deciding what we wanted we kept saying to each other "Why did we stop going here?" We couldn't remember so we proceeded.

Well the first reason is because the garlic parmesan wings offered now pale in comparison to the original ones. The steamed shrimp weren't completely deveined so that's gross all in itself. The Shrimp Baja tacos had 2-3 Shrimp on each and were covered in goopy sauce and cabbage.  Definitely NOT worth the money.

The ordering process is weird now as well. You're not connected to the restaurant. It sounded like a guy working from home that could care less about taking our order and definitely didn't thank us for our business.

I didn't enjoy anything we had or the ordering process and now I KNOW why we don't order from here or dine in any longer.

My sliders were over cooked and my curly  fries were cold. They did give me a new meal of shrimp tacos and mozzarella sticks no charge. The waitress kept disappearing once we got our food. Never asked how things were or refilled drinks. Waitress needed more training 😞. The waitress we had last time was much better. The manager was amazing
