As close as Potrero Chico as you can get! Service was excellent and very accommodating. We had a great breakfast every morning. Room was also clean.

Wonderful setting and super close to climbing. Hosts went way out of their way to make us comfortable. New lounge area was modern and enjoyable. Will definitely come again!

Lemuria used to be the luxury hotel from what we heard. But upon arrival, we discovered it was falling apart, poorly maintained, not cleaned (trash from previous guests still in the room),  mold on the walls, and full of bugs( not kidding maybe 100 mosquitos on the walls) . The beds didn't even have a sheet, just a mattress pad.... and it was obvious that it hadn't been cleaned in a while (there was hair on the sheets from previous guests).

We requested a refund since the room was not what was advertised. the management and owner refused to give any reimbursement. They tried showing us another room with the same problems, a dirty, ill-maintained room with a bug problem. They also snuck in a 6% upcharge for using a credit card, which was never mentioned in the booking advertisement or the website, and only upon arrival did we discover the extra charge.
The wifi is only available outside the main office.
Take your money elsewhere. The rest of the accommodations in the canyon are better value and cheaper.
The only upside is the proximity to the canyon. Which in my opinion is not worth it. When there are significantly better options 5 minutes walk away.

While the view was beautiful the hotel was not. The only thing that seemed clean there was the pool. Yuck-hair and stains on the sheets. Rubble and garbage on the grounds-the room had a mirror that had not even been taken out of packaging or hung on well. Overall gross do not recommend.

There are no words for how highly I recommend this hotel. We got married here and the night was described as magical and as "the best wedding ever" by everyone who attended. I cannot thank Jorge, Liz, Maria, Maria, and the rest of the staff enough. Wonderful, wonderful people who make it their mission to make your stay incredible. Thank you everyone! We can't wait to see you again.

Timberline Glamping at Clarks Hill Lake

Site 55 was PERFECT for my daughters 11th “Glamping” birthday sleepover. Just a few steps from the bathroom, the covered pavilion and the playground/vollyball court. We had so much fun and will definitely be back!

We had the best time staying here! The tent was great, bathrooms clean and very close by, felt extremely safe and the water was just a few steps away. Had an issue with my card but the owners were so patient & we got that figured out with no problems. We will definitely stay here again sooner than later!

Very friendly people, beautiful and quiet. Well cared for area. Maybe a little bit bigger of a playground. Only because between campers & visitors it was too much for the small one there.

We’ve been on several trips and always have the best time! They are super thoughtful and make it so much more convenient to be out in nature with the family.

Had a great 2 day stay. Very clean site, and would recommend for anyone looking to get away on a budget and get some quiet time and recharge.

Silver State RV Park

We will be moving ASAP. The park is not well-maintained, and right now, there is a problem with the water - as in there is no water.  *There was some sort of issue with a water leak, and ALL THE WATER IS NOW SHUT OFF.  Yes, they shut ALL the water off in the middle of the day, and did not bother to warn, or tell anyone.  My wife was in the shower, and had shampoo in her hair!  Also, it is loud - people come and go at all hours of the night, and someone here has a dog that won't shut up.  No, no, and just NO.

~*~ RESPONSE TO DISHONEST PARK MANAGEMENT :  Look at your reviews.  You do NOT have good reviews.  That says it all. I am a seasoned Google "local guide".  I have no reason to lie, but you do.   The water in the park was off for most of the day, and we were forced to leave early, as a result.  Your park is old, and poorly maintained.  *If you, ( person reading these reviews ), look down at the reviews - notice that there is a "manager's rebuttal" on pretty much EVERY single review.  There is always some excuse, or "spin" on every negative review.  This happened.  I am telling the truth.  This park has problems.  Read what others are saying, and take heed.

Very bad experience. We arrived after a long ride with our 5 kids at 5.05 pm to find out the pool closed at 5pm.. they didn’t mention anything about this on there website, and was the main reason I booked this campground. Sites were dirty, I was not able to clean the picnic table. Same for the pool area. Most of the campers are seasonal employees (I guess). Arriving around 5/6 pm and leaving around 7 am. Nice atmosphere. Washrooms and showers are clean and big. The next morning I told the kids we will go to the pool for a bit before leaving again. The pool would re open at 9 am and we were all ready. But at 9 the pool didn’t open. The lady at the desk told me she didn’t have a key and we had to wait for the maintenance guy. He arrived 40 min later.. (9.40 am). The pool wasn’t cleaned but my kids really wanted to jump in. So we have been swimming for 30 min maybe before we had to hit the road again.. I told the ladies at the front desk that I wasn’t happy at all. It didn’t seem they really cared.. I asked them for a refund: one of them told me she ‘would fix it’ but 2 weeks past and I’m still waiting.. will never come here again!

This place is worse than than previous owner. Raising rent $25 every year. What services do you offer raising it constantly. Those in the mobile area can’t even have access to the pool. Also making it hard for those on a fixed income like Social security.

Stopped by for a quick night of rest after a long day on the road. Pulled right in, got a tent site, they have clean restrooms and showers. Great for the motorcycle camping. Was greeted in the morning, offered a hot cup of coffee, went on our way. Great location.

Stayed here for a year and a half while my husband was on a job. I loved it. The front office lady’s are the nicest.

Sleepy Hollow Campground

12/9/23 my girlfriends and I had a Saturday night stay at the campground. We bunked in the Safari cabin and it was perfect! The cabin was decorated so nicely and the bed was super comfy! The layout of the campground is awesome, with plenty of picnic tables and fire pits every which way. Definitely planning a trip back!

We spent a long weekend here late August. Our site was clean and shaded. The owner was on-site and very helpful. It's a quiet campground with easy access to surrounding, more touristy destinations. The New Germany State Park is close, with great hiking trails. The seasonal campers are friendly and helpful, if needed. The only reason for a 4 rating and not 5, is the lack of an on-site dump station. There is one close by at NGS Park. The owner said that a dump station is planned for the near future. I would recommend this campground for a nice, quiet getaway.

Our family of seven stayed in the two adjacent medium cabins which had plenty of room for four guests each, comfy beds, and efficient small heaters. The bathhouse with plenty of hot water and heat is a short walk away. The site has beautiful trees and shade and is an easy 20-30 minute drive to local points of interest. Cell service was spotty and wifi was only available at the bathhouse which promoted family fun and lots of reading and relaxing but we could still check important updates intermittently. I would highly recommend Sleepy Hollow for a cabin or RV stay. The tent sites are walk-in, small, and limited in flat space with no electric or water option. I'm a bit of a lazy tent camper! We'll be back for some of the local events.

We brought our 21ft trailer for the long weekend. It was easy to pull in, had fire pits and picnic tables. We loved the ability to use the bath house and felt safe sending the kids over solo. It's dog friendly which is a must for us.  We will be back soon!

McCoys Ferry Campground

It's on the river.  It's quiet and very pretty this time of year. There is potable water by a hand pump for cooking and cleaning just bring something to put the water in. We used a empty 5 gallon water bottle. We're on the group camp site that can fit 30 people there is only 15 of use so there is a lot of space. The single camp sites are nice to. There are sites with small campers on it and still plenty of room.

Great camping spot for a weekend getaway. Quiet when the train isn't going past on either side of the river. Beware there are no facilities other than the porta johns and the vented toilet at the parking lot (the porta johns were cleaner). Bring your own hand sanitizer and water. Even though there is a hand pump there, it has been known to miss the handle at times. Also, the entrance to the park is a slight right into a dirt road from the main road.  If you keep going straight you go into a dead end. It's not marked very well so you might need to turn around to come back to the entrance. The tunnel you pass through is really fun as well.  It's a one lane tunnel so take your time to make sure someone isn't coming through on the other side.

I love the layout of this campground. The campground is always clean. They added some very nice picnic tables.  A grill and a firepit are on each site.  Overflow parking is available and porta potty's.  No water or electricity. Bring your own. Pack in ,pack out. Most importantly. Leave no trace!
My friends and I gave tribute to a fellow camper that passed away suddenly. It was 27 degrees the last night.  We were ready, though. RIH Alona

Great Place. Quiet and clean. Only downside is they got mobile toilets. But good thing, they were clean.

Amazing views. Yes, the sites are a little close together, but it didn’t really feel intrusive. Definitely reserve river side (1,2, and 6). Basic amenities, fire pit, grill, nice leveled places to pitch, water pump, port-a-pot. Really just a super pleasant spot…..except the trains. It literally sounds like caterwauling banshees coming through the campground. Honestly, on a misty mid October evening it added an interesting effect. Sleep was wrecked though.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA Holiday

We had been traveling in our small camper van for a month, and needed an easy place to stay for just one night before returning home.  The lady who answered the phone was so kind and efficient, and found us a spot on short notice.  They offered pizza you could order as you checked in, and they delivered it right to your campsite.  It was hot and delicious.   The bathrooms/showers were some of the cleanest we saw during our trip, and we slept so well at our quiet site beside the creek.  We would highly recommend this KOA

Spent a couple of nights here back in March. The site was nice and close to amenities with a pleasant view of the nearby river, but it was difficult to access (I made the mistake of arriving after dark). Restroom/showers were extremely clean. Very peaceful location. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. If I go through there again, I'm sure I'd return for another stay.

Great little campground. Yes it's small and sites are close together as many have mentioned. HOWEVER in my opinion that didn't take away from our ability to enjoy it. There is swimming, canoeing, tubing, gaga ball, jumping pillows, giant chess, chickens that visited us each morning, a camp cat which we loved, crafts, train ride etc. Lots to keep busy with. They are also great with responding to their text app for questions or issues. There was also a movie night which was nice. Customer service was good. We did have less than stellar service from one guy in the snack bar but nothing I couldn't handle. Camp store was nice. Bathrooms were clean and our cabin was good. Fair to mention there's many bees around the cabins. Not a deal breaker but I know some are allergic. Anyway we had a good time and would recommend. Nice little campground to get away for a few days.

My wife and i went for an overnight stay on the way to Florida from NY.   In our way in, some lady squirt us with a water gun.   After we check in, we are escorted to our site.   I told the guy we can back in ourselves (which we've done plenty of times).  The site was very very small and there's a rock wall on the opposite side of the road making it take a bit of maneuvering and a little more time.   Since this is the only route, the next camper had to wait a couple of minutes.    Obviously the "escort guy" was a bit impatient and starts telling me incorrect directions to back in making it impossible for me to hear my wife.   I told him to stop as I can't listen to 2 people at once.  For $70+ a night, being right on top of other sites, it's not worth it to me.

The electric and water worked fine.  I didn't use the sewer,  though the site was equipped.

The dog park had 3 piles if poop in it that weren't cleaned.   The bags are provided, yet 3 poops left there.  Not necessarily the campgrounds fault, but the other campers clearly don't care.

Awesome KOA with great bath houses and friendly staff.  The cafe is great when you need a quick bite or coffee.  Off the beaten path but still close to civilization.  Small collection of animals too!  Will definitely go back.
