Shear Madness Haircuts for Kids

I took my 16 month old here to have his first haircut. I booked the “first hair cut experience” which was supposed to give us double normal appointment time to make sure everyone had time to get comfortable have fun. Right off the bat the stylist seemed to be in a hurry, did not listen to what we wanted from the haircut and definitely did not listen when I told her this was hard for me to see his curls cut. She didn’t encourage my child to get comfortable or give him time to adjust, actually cut his hair without the cape and kept telling him sternly to “sit still”. The entire cut probably lasted 5 mins. The haircut it’s self was awful and our first haircut experience was awful. The manager did a good job listening to our frustration and gave me the number to the owner who I still have not gotten a return phone call back. We will never be returning to any of their locations and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Couldn’t recommend Shear Madness enough! We are first time parents and brought our 2 year old here for her first hair cut. I was very hesitant because her hair is extremely curly. Kendra was our hair stylist and she was absolutely fantastic. From the friendliness to the employees, to the kid friendly environment. I really couldn’t think of a better place to bring our little girl! Will absolutely be returning for all future haircuts.

We had my one year old son’s first haircut at Shear Madness in Lee’s Summit today. Our stylist Maddy did such a great job and was so patient. My son was very squirmy and fussy the whole time and the cut still turned out great! I don’t know how she managed to do it but I’m very impressed! Highly recommend!

Great place to get a haircut for your kiddos.

There's different chairs for them to sit in: car, motorcycle, train, firetruck, etc. (6 vehicles total) so your kid can act like they're driving the whole time.

They're very kind for first haircuts and don't use clippers (just the scissors) to not scare the kid.

They have screens for each of the charis so the kids can watch their choice of show from a selection.

There's a lot of toys in the front of the store.

The haircut with the clippers wasn't perfect. Rather, it could have used some work. I think they probably think their clippers are barber grade (they are not), so they only go over the hair once when they should be going over it several times... and there were quite a few stragglers.

I will say, this would probably be a bad place to take a kid who gets overstimulated: toys, bright lights, lots of tvs, cars to ride. I imagine it would be hard for a child with sensory issues.

Took my  3 1/2 year old granddaughter to get a haircut Saturday. The girl obviously did not know how to just “trim”   Curly hair.  I could have done better.  Wish i hadn’t paid for seriously 3 maybe four snips and terrible braids( didn’t even part her hair straight ) Hair was uneven when we got home. Asked to have her bangs shaped up, wouldn’t trim them because she has curly hair.  If you can’t trim CURLY hair say so. Will NEVER go back there.

Dillard's

This is an awesome vintage department store.   I came in here to film the elevator.  They have an awesome 1974 Montgomery elevator that is glass.  Only reason this is 3 star instead of 5 is because an employee gave me very dirty looks for simply appreciating their vintage elevator.   She also followed us around the store as if we were shop lifters or something after we rode the elevator.  Apart from. That. The store is clean and very well stocked as well.  Also clean toilets as well.

The Dillard’s in Independence Center is very nice. We were doing some very last minute Christmas shopping and the staff in both the men’s and women’s sleep ware were helpful, and personable. Even though it was right before Christmas, they still had nice items on display and the different sections were well stocked. You aren’t allowed to carry items from one section to the next while you shop without putting them on hold, back on the rack or purchasing, so keep that in mind if that would make a difference to you

I was literally terrified. I was in the section where they have all of the pretty dresses. This lady with tattoos worked in that section of the store and at first I thought she was a cool lady but then she started acting off. She kept making loud noises with the metal signs on top of the wracks. Every wrack I looked at she came to the wrack and started making loud noises with the metal signs on top of the wracks. I don't know if she was on drugs or just liked the noise of clanging metal but it made it difficult to shop under those conditions. She continued to follow me around and move the signs on the wracks for no reason. I felt so uncomfortable. I felt so much anxiety and fear that I felt forced to spend $200 for these two dresses. She kept making noises and getting very close that I honestly just wanted to hurry up and buy the dresses and leave. Even after I bought the dresses she still followed me around as if bullying me to buy more items or possibly stalking I am not sure why she did this. I could not even truly look for a dress to buy for this Gala I am going to. She also kept looking at me in the dressing room and I felt uncomfortable. It was like she was stalking me. Even after we purchased the items she still stayed near us. It was just so creepy. It was the creepiest thing I have ever experienced. I felt bullied and pressured into buying these items because of the way this woman was acting. I was scared of this woman. I did not know why she wanted to follow me around.

Went for a gala dress. They have a large assortment of gowns and dresses. The plus size section was sparse, especially the junior plus section. Everyone working there was very nice and we had no issues getting a dressing room open whenever we needed one.  Prices were average for formal dresses

Dillard’s has done a lot to make the store look excellent!!  Loved the displays especially in the beauty department Kiehl’s branding.

Lots of excellent sales!  Even though the mall is dead as a door nail, Dillard’s still has it going on.

America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

Went to America’s Best in Lees Summit yesterday. I expected a long wait and to have to pay full price for getting my damaged glasses replaced, but Chris waited on me quickly, checked my file and to my surprise, I had purchased the damage warranty when I bought them 9 months ago! She was very polite and patient with an old blind geezer like me , and she was extremely helpful. She made my day! I don’t use Google in my phone, but Chis made such an impression on me, I had to borrow my wife’s phone to post what a fantastic employee she is.

I'm uninsured, so the fact that I can get two custom pairs of glasses WITH an eye exam for less than the price of an annual vision insurance premium, is astounding. Even after a mistake was made, the management took ownership and swiftly resolved the matter with a smile.

If you still hope to have stores with actual humans in them in the future, then go ahead and give these guys some love. For the price and service, it is really unbeatable.

This place has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I went to order contacts and was rudely helped by a woman at the front desk. When asking her the price of a 2 pack vs a 6 pack of contacts her answer was “cheaper than the other one” ok jaw dropped then so I asked for a manager she then said she was the manager. Ok so I kept composure and continued my order buying the 6pack because they were actually cheaper in the long haul. After rudely putting in my order she said it would take up to 96 days to arrive because a shortage. I placed any way knowing she was just detouring me to purchase and they shipped today… It’s sad that there person over the hospitality(customer service team) has no respect for the company,

This was my first time going to this location since living in Raytown. I had an amazing experience. The staff is very polite and helpful. I also enjoyed Dr. Sukaromya. She was very informative and compassionate. Asha made my day. 🤗 She was very pleasant and made picking out my frames and purchasing my glasses a breeze.

I wasn't impressed by the customer service there. Check-in took forever because nobody came over to help. After my exam, I had to wait for assistance because two employees were more concerned about their own glasses then helping me. I stood behind them waiting for one of them to notice me and they didn't do a thing. I pray my glasses come out right. They are bifocals and the girl assisting me didn't know what she was doing.  Not impressed at all.

Big O Tires

12.23.2023- scheduled an appointment for 10:00am for a flat tire repair. It is currently 11:43am, I just inquired of my repair and the response given was
“It’s been overlooked and has been sitting, once another car is completed we will begin working it”. Let’s just say these guys have no clue how to run a shop apparently once they pull a car in they do not begin to work on it . Unbelievably sad and frustrating. These guys do not even apologize when a mistake happens. I guess that’s the treatment when you deny their request to upsell you, they initially tried to sell me a replacement tire instead of just plugging it. My whole morning has been delayed as it is now almost noon.

***Update*** 12:16pm, just got told they do not feel they can repair it, so now I need to buy a tire. Imagine that! Looks like they got me for almost $150. Repair still isn’t completed as of this writing.

***Update*** 12:55pm, just received the car with new tire.

Ordered some rims for my kia stinger, they came in yesterday. Called and set an appointment for today at 8 am. They got me set up by 10 am, I made it on time to work. George and Kevin the manager were awsome. I recommend highly recommend this location.

Do not go here. They didn't put the tire on right. I had mechanics look at it and they said it came off because of the tire. They're blaming it on the strut when it wasn't because of the strut.

They went back and forth LYING saying they were waiting on a part giving me the run around. Then changed their mind syaing they weren't covering it. They will screw you over!

They were very helpful! We had an unexpected leak show up in the tire and we went to big o. This could sometimes be an all day event, but they were so fast and got us back on the road in such a short time! Would highly recommend!

This is the worst tire purchase ive made. Since buying the tires and insurance i feel anytime ive gad to use the warranty it either gets worse or some-new problem a rises. They snapped a stud on my tire the proceeded to tell me how it was my fault when putting on a doughnut but they were the one who didnt put on the tore correctly. There is better customer service and ownership of responsibility in a fast food joint then we these jokers. Avoid this shop like the plague unless you want headaches followed by an outpour of false promises

Budget Blinds of Lee's Summit

Have used Budget Blinds 3 times since moving into our new home a year ago.   Every project has turned out exactly as ordered - no issues. With her experience and expertise Taylor has been a dream to work with, making style and color selections super easy.  Always on time.  Reasonably priced for custom work.  Never a problem with installations. Superior customer service.  Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend Budget Blinds. From the initial appointment with Morgan to install with Ryan, everything was efficient and professional. All the steps were laid out and expectations met. Communication was great!

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER! This company was a total waste of my time. I should've listened to the "red flag" when my consultantation appointment didn't take place as scheduled. No one showed up! When I called them after waiting a 1/2 hour on the day of my original appointment, I was told I didn't even have an appointment scheduled by the person who actually scheduled my appointment. I was given an apology for the "computer error!" From there, NOTHING got better!  Extremely poor customer service. It took 2 1/2 months of back and forth only to find out NOTHING was ever accomplished. In my opinion, and based on how I was treated, if you're not spending thousands of dollars with them, then you're not valued. Also, do not believe it when they use the term "additional discounts!" You'll be waiting forever! When I requested to SPEAK to the owner, she sent me a TEXT telling me I would be "better served going to a big box store or DIY." I was not even given the professional respect of a PHONE CALL from
her after she was fully aware of ALL my concerns and the unfortunate things that transpired from day one of me contacting Budget Blinds. NEVER AGAIN, will I consider or even refer ANYONE to Budget Blinds based on my HORRIBLE experience with them.

I just finished a new construction home and was very impressed with the ease and speed of working with Budget Blinds. They were very competitive on pricing and helpful with the design. The installer was in and out of my house very quickly and did a great job! I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

Kent brought every sample imaginable because initially we weren't sure what we wanted. He explained options thoroughly including both the pros and cons. After we decided, he measured and ordered our shutters. When they arrived, Tallon (Talon) called and scheduled an installation time and was here promptly. He installed our plantation shutters efficiently and expertly and our house is so bright and looks amazing.
Working with Budget Blinds was a pleasure and I highly recommend them.

School of Rock

An outstanding group of people.  They are both flexible and patient with working professionals who don't always have the time to practice and sometimes can't make class.

We had our son's birthday party here and it was amazing!! Julie was incredible to work with for the party, making everything easy! The staff that worked with the kids were great! They kept it fun while teaching instruments and music to young kids. They had a very short period of time to work the kids, but the kids all had a blast! Lots of smiles, giggles and awesome memories!

School of Rock camp is the summer favorite in our house!

The kids learn so much in one week!  Music, team work, self confidence, the list goes on and on.

We can’t recommend this program enough.

School of Rock Lee's Summit has taught my child so much, not only as a musician, but also as a team member.  He has made good friends there and is fully supported by all of the staff members.  We love it here.

We LOVE School of Rock. We love it so much that we drive two hours each way so that my daughter can participate. Instructors are amazing. She is challenged every week to be a better musician. The friendships she has made are so valuable. We appreciate this program so much!

The HoneyBaked Ham Co

Packs of sliced off-the-bone ham were nice addition to traditional turkey for Thanksgiving. Highly recommend the honey-baked ham they are famous for.

The meats are delicious and easy to serve-just heat and plate.  The prices are expensive, so it is not an option unfortunately for everyone.

Our company catered HoneyBaked Ham for the team members the day before Easter. I was DELIGHTED with the quality of the lunch box. The ham was delicious and not too salty, and the use of the croissant for the bread was amazing and unique!! tomatos were fresh and not watery, and the lettuce was crispy! the sandwich was also big enough for me to save some for later. Our company has catered from several different places but they have all been pretty “meh”. I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect than the lunch we got today from the honeybaked ham team in Lee’s summit!!

Pu ham on Sunday. Tried a piece on Monday . This is the dryers ham I’ve ever bought from honey baked ham. I will not return to a honey baked ham store again. It actually taste like it’s been frozen. I use to order on line have them shipped, but in the last couple of years, they failed on that too. So it’s good bye honey baked hams!!!! Absolutely no customer service!!!!

Pretty sure it is a great ham, but was sad that they did not take the $8 off ( coupon) that I gave  the girl today. It was the last day for the coupon. We handed the girl the coupon, but realized when we got home the coupon was not used!
So make double sure that they make use of the discount! Pretty expensive!!!

Don is the man!! Scott the new manager is amazing and friendly as well, happy to have all the staff there. So welcoming and knowledgeable too!

This Ace Hardware is well-kept and the people are great - specifically Debbie. Debbie always provides thoughtful, next-level customer service. She hooked me up with a calendar last time and I know someday she'll get me signed up for the rewards too. I kept saying I don't come in very often, but it's becoming a go-to spot! 10/10 would recommend visiting this store to experience the service they provide.

Westlake ACE Hardware is a one-stop merchant for just about anything you need or want for home repair,  yard maintenance,  or tools and fun stuff. They're close, and more convenient than the big home stores ,

Just had to make a Review,  I been going the this location now for about 2 years,   Mostly for Lawn Care and EGO Power items,  One person seems to always be around to help me out. Great service and very helpful. Made an appointment, which I highly recommend since they tend to be very busy. I've bought tires from them twice now for 2 different vehicles and their prices and payment plans are great for when you're in a financial pinch. Got an oil change this time and it was much less expensive than most places, plus it didn't take too long despite them being extra busy as usual. The manager was very nice and gave me the coupon discount without having it, which was a really nice gesture. Good service and quality here as well. Between the other place I reviewed and here, you really cannot go wrong going to either. Nothing but great experiences at three separate locations. They also practice what they preach about friendliness, helpfulness, and customer service. Things that are nice to find and seem to becoming rarer and rarer these days, especially with some of the younger generation, who seem to have lost that human touch possibly with the expecting to do everything online. It's just nice to run in to people that treat you like a person and with respect, instead of the usual attitude of indifference.

Friendly, knowledgeable! Easy to make appointment online and they promptly confirmed. Only downside was I waited over two hours for 4 new tires to be installed even with my appointment. This seemed a bit long. Overall it was a positive experience.

I began by booking an appointment online. Received a call the next morning as I had forgot to include tire size. The gentleman took down tire size ,looked them up and said they were in stock and to bring car in at 10. Once there I was greeted, had all info taken off car. Car was moved inside , repaired and the advisor then told of items I had checked along with an estimate. Very professional and courteous. With me being a service advisor before retiring I know how tough that job is. These 2 guys at the front were great. I will definitely return for service.

Horrible experience here with the "Assistant Manager", his name was Charlie. He was rude, back and forth on what the issue was, talked down to me because I am a female, and just out right terrible. He was not one bit helpful in my situation and talked to me as if I knew nothing about tires. He was not informative or helpful in any way. I am shocked they allow this type of person to be the "assistant manager". He tried to tell me the tires, that were IMPROPERLY aligned by them, were worn down because of the struts when he never even went out and looked at my car. He legit lied to my face and thought he could get away with it because I am a woman and he assumed I knew nothing about my truck or the tires. He was honestly the worst mechanic I have ever had to deal with and I do not think he should be allowed to be in a managerial position with his horrible attitude and lack of self awareness. Absolutely awful man to deal with.

The man that actually helped me was named Chuck. He was nice and extremely helpful. He talked me through every single detail and even allowed me to see his screen so I could pick out the perfect tire to replace the other ones. He was very sweet in his demeanor and delivery of things and always allowed me to speak and ask any questions. He was thorough and very thoughtful. I would gladly recommend that Chuck become the assistant manager over Charlie because of this. Chuck knows how to deal with customers and it's very clear that Charlie has no clue how to do so. Chuck was literally running the entire store by himself while also dealing with my issue. He was running back and forth between answering the phones, helping other customers and helping me all at the same time. Even while being so busy he remained calm and nice. That's the kind of person I would want to run my store if my Manager were on vacation, not Charlie.

The next day was my appointment to have new tires put on to replace the bald ones. The "head" mechanic that was working when I went in to get the new tires put on literally refused to work on my truck. He was sarcastic and extremely unprofessional. He said "I'm not working on that thing." and had two others working on it while he sat and watched then would occasionally shoot me a smirk and a waive. I am so shocked that these kinds of people are allowed to work here and deal with customers. That is no way to treat a woman nor a customer no matter who it is.

I also took my truck to Nissan (where I take it to get most of the work done) to have it looked at before this appointment to see if what the "assistant manager" Charlie was telling me was true. Keep in mind he never even looked at my truck. The struts are fine, absolutely nothing wrong with them. The shop that I trust (Nissan, not Big O) made sure to take photos and videos in case the Big O Tire crew messed with anything or did anything to them. They literally lied through their teeth in order to not allow me to use THEIR warranty that I paid EXTRA for. I still had to pay for the labor to put the new tires on, which is absolutely absurd. After everything they put me through they were rude, sarcastic, unprofessional, and insanely sexist. These "men" need someone from HR or Corporate to do a training seminar on how to treat ANYONE. It's 2023, why are people like this still allowed to interact with other humans in a managerial position?! Again, the only man that was nice and helpful was Chuck. I honestly feel so bad for him, he has to deal with those "men" everyday and pick up the mess they create. He deserves so much more praise and respect than what they give him. Chuck should be the Assistant Manager, not misogynistic Charlie.

Moral of the story is that if you have to go here, I would not go here EVER again but if you absolutely have to, ask for Chuck. He is the best guy there and will actually take care of you and not take advantage of you. Charlie was awful and will absolutely take advantage of you if given the chance, like he tried to do to me.
