Wendy's

Wendys food is always good. The management team should invest in more of an upbeat staff. The lady who took my order was exceptionally slow and not one of the staff walked with any urgency at all. I ordered my meal at 1:17 pm after standing at the counter for 7 minutes. I recieved my meal at 1:36! The lobby was filled with people waiting for thier food. Very shoddy wait times. The staff could do so much better.

Guy running the drive through ( tattoos all over with a rude attitude ) could care less about his job. Literally everything I asked for was wrong on my order. No mustard please. Mustard on my burger. Coke please. Gave me some unidentifiable diet something. Barbecue sauce for chicken nope game me ranch. I mean come on I paid for this meal it should be pretty simple to get what I ordered. Every single time I’ve gone there and this dude is at the drive through I know my order is going to be wrong. Do better please.

Their afternoon crew is great. Food prepared exactly how I want it. The only problem I have, is not with their people or food, but how the drive thru is laid out. The drive thru is meant to start when you go around the building, but if you follow that easy, you'll get other customers that don't do that and cut right in front of you from entering half way through...

I truly hate to give a bad review and usually just give a review if it's going to be bad. This was worse than that! First it was a Wendy's and after being the 8th car in the driveway through they tell me there is no Frostys. Why do you go to Wendy's. It should have at least been posted. I ended up getting a large chili, Jr cheeseburgers a medium pop. Over 9 dollars!! The chili which is usually at least good. Was meatless and bean less. There was hardly anything but juice. The large was at the most 2/3 full. Which made it a small. It was just bad guys. Like I said, I hate to give a bad review. Especially for a fast food restaurant. It is fast food after all!! Thus was bad on a different level. Sorry again for the bad review

Absolutely awful experience at this location.  2:30 in the afternoon, only one other person, and every table was dirty.  There was trash and food on the floors.  Spilled drinks on and around the trash can.  There were no napkins.  When I asked for some, the employee gave two and acted if they were coming out of his paycheck.  The staff were rude, unprofessional and unfriendly.  When trying to contact Wendy's HQ, they don't even list this location, so impossible to file a compliant.

Avoid this location at all costs.

First time here and wasn’t disappointed. Food was delicious. Staff was efficient, friendly and plenty of seating.

Great tasting gyro, with fast and friendly service. Will visit again when I am in the area.

Started off with the Tiropitakia (layers of crispy philo dough filled with feta cheese and herbs) and a bowl of soup (a Lemon Chicke Rice and a creamy sausage version)...I found dipping the Tiropitakia into the creamy soup to be a winner!
I ordered the Pastitsio...a Greek Lasagna and Terri ordered the Chicken Souvlaki...Chiken Kabobs. Both were fantastic!
I used the Tzatziki sauce that she didn't want on my lasagna...I don't know if that's right or wrong but it sure tasted good!
We finished up with their family recipe OPA Stawberry Cheesecake...MMMMMM!!!!
Deeeeelicious.....

The Gyro was as good as I've ever had and the generous serving of hand-cut French fries were also delicious, as was the lemonade.

McDonald's

This McDonald was cramped and dirty, as well as infested with flies. Gross. Also there was a play place but it was closed with no explanation.

My group and I placed an order for pickup at least twenty or thirty minutes before we arrived and they didn’t start working on it until we were in the restaurant and asked if it was ready. We were on a field trip with some students with challenging behaviors, which I understand is difficult. However, we had everything under control. It was really disappointing that not only the customers by but also the staff stopped what they were doing to gawk at us and get in our way, causing a potentially dangerous situation. We were not being disruptive and told then customers and staff repeatedly they everything was under control, and they beat thing to do was go about business as usual and use an alternate exit, but they completely ignored us and just made the situation more difficult anyway.

On a less serious note, our order was incorrect. Perhaps if the employees had concentrated on their jobs instead of being disrespectful and rude to students with special needs. What a huge disappointment.

Completely incompetent and rude management. The hours listed online are 24 hours. I use the app to place an order for counter pickup, as I have an oversize vehicle that doesn't fit through the drive, though. I get there and the door is unlocked, bit as soon as I enter, I am rushed by a lady telling me that I need to leave. I show her my order for counter pickup that I just placed, and she tells me that I need to go through the drive though, even after I explained that it is too big. As mcdonalds has no way of canceling the order, I had to stand in a rainy drivethrough to get my food despite the fact that I was already standing in the building.

For the most part they are nice I have had one or two people be kind of rude once when they charged our card but said they didn't and then a young girl today who was rude when we were paying half cash and half card. She acted like we were putting her out so much. I even apologized about it,and she still acted like it was too much for her to do. But every other time they are nice

Literally only got 3 items which I didn’t order and was missing more like they literally hire anyone now… be better McDonald’s

Well I guess they can't really help being in a terrible area, 10 out of 10 times, there's no way of escaping 2 or 3 people standing either in the front of the main entrance, or around the corner where you go to order in the drive thru, most likely harassing people for change or food. It seems though they more often than not have people who speak little English taking all the orders for the drive thru which makes it quite annoying and because there is MEGA language barrier, perhaps come off all rude as hell. Other than that  couple MEGA turn offs, they do try to get everything out to you very quickly. Could do a much better job with making sure more often their fries are fresh, because WE ALL know, McDonald's fries are disgusting when they aren't FRESH.

Prairie Canary Restaurant & Bar

Visited on 1/5/24 between 6:05pm-6:45pm. This is the only "fine dining" established for the mid-sized town of Grinnell. Basic/bare-bones atmosphere/lightly furnished but nothing bad about it. Menu prices are on the low end compared to other visited "fine dining" establishments. Had their Bacon Jam Burger w/ fries & 1 beer. Total came to near $20. Service was friendly and prompt. Only approx. 7-15 other patrons (with a seating capacity of at least 50) during my time. Sounds like when it comes to booth seating that are reserved they hold it the entire time until the party shows up, instead of having reservation time windows. Only con I had was when asked on how I wanted my burger done, stated medium well and it was abnormally pink inside.

Stopped here for mother's day brunch as part of our road trip. The restaurant reminded me of the weathervane in Neenah Wisconsin... Comfortable, classy, and clean with a wide variety of food choices.

Everything about the Prairie Canary was excellent... though reservations are recommended, we were able to get seated quickly. Our waitress is from Belgium and a Grinnel College student. Very very friendly and Johnny on the spot when it comes to service and refilling my coffee (by the way, their coffee was fresh, not bitter, and had a nice creamy texture to it to it).

Of course I had my usual Eggs Benedict but their Mothers Day special was served with asparagus and truffled hash browns. Brian tried something new. An open-faced dish of avocado, goat cheese, heirloom tomatoes, and eggs on homemade bread.

They were very busy but service was still great! We had the fried brussel sprouts and lettuce wraps for starters. The lettuce wraps were our least favorite part of the meal, they were just okay. The brussels are definitely a shared starter as it's a larger portion and delicious. We had steak de burgo and the Iowa Chop for our entrees. Both came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. I like my steak medium rare, and they nailed it! That doesn't always happen. I also had the apple salad... loved it! For dessert we had crème brûlée and mixed berry shortcake.  They were a great finish to a wonderful meal!

Amazing dinner and cocktails in a cool modern setting with excellent service! Really enjoyed the Aviation and Basil Drop cocktails. Our two appetizers, Brussels and Spinach Artichoke dip were wonderful and the entrees and dessert were great. Highly recommend!

AMAZING!!! Service was prompt, super friendly and inviting. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The NY Strip was the best I’ve ever had, and I eat a lot of steak. Check this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

Poke House Centennial

Solid poke bowls but they also have other options for those wanting cooked fish/meat: chicken, steak, tempura. Will be back to try the popcorn basil chicken skewers that look yummy. Service was great !

Awesome food, poke tasted really fresh and their specialty bowls are a decent value. If you dine in, they gave me a free miso soup just for dining in which a nice bonus. I give it a 6/5 because the free miso soup (unlike other whiny reviewers who gave this place a 4/5 just because they didn’t get something free)

10/2/21-The food was really tasty and the 2 workers were nice. They also had cute Halloween decorations around. The only thing I'm dinging them slightly on is that other poke places with similar prices include miso soup and this place doesn't. They are not the best or worst value in the area, so on that I'd give them an average. Overall I'd give 4.5 stars out of 5.

The Lychee lemonade taste so good and lightly refreshing. The food is made to order and fresh. There isn't too busy after lunch. And way easier to order after 4pm. I highly suggest their sweet spam musibi or the shrimp musibi.

Open parking and handicap accessible.

We’ve been going to the one in Denver, but this will be our new spot because it’s closer. Sane great quality of food, good service, Abe atmosphere! We like the parking spaces too!

Chick-fil-A

I’m giving it a 4 because we have very few issues with this location. Today though.. We are disappointed.
First, we were given the wrong order, but that’s not a dealbreaker.
Second, one of the chicken biscuits had a tiny breast that was woody an inedible. I’m more upset about that than being given the wrong order because the breast had to be thrown away. I probably wouldn’t have left a review if it was just small. I know for a fact that is bad quality control which is unlike Chick-fil-A.
I’m a bit surprised and disappointed. Will it keep me from going back? No, but only because it’s never happened before and usually the food is on par.

This is our favorite CF in the Springs. We walk here often with our daughters (who love the play area). The atmosphere at this location is always pleasant - flowers on tables, holiday decorations, and of course the big smiles on the faces of the workers.

FOOD: It’s Chick fil a, so you know it’s good/consistent.

SERVICE: These folks that work here are extra wonderful. Whether we order on the app for in-store or delivery, they are courteous and helpful. Great staff here. Authentically joyful.

ATMOSPHERE: Always seasonally decorated. Flowers on the tables (at a fast food restaurant!) Good place to take the kids to play while you get some work done or relax with some nuggets..

The food was absolutely delicious, just as always! I appreciated how fresh everything was even though I had to wait until I got home to dig in. When I got there, I was surprised by the efficiency of the place. Mobile drive thru, open service, and great customer service at that!! Window and personal order takers were both so pleasant. I’d love to come back for lunch! ;)

The sign on their door clearly says that the dining room closes at 10pm but they close it at 9:30. I already know management is going to hop on here with some cope telling me it’s for cleaning. Change your sign to 9:30 then. Ridiculous.

EDIT: As you can see they changed the bottom of the sign to (likely in response to my review) to read 9:30. Well done. You get three instead of one now.

This store is quite spacious and I like the different types of seating. From ordering to consumption, the experience was just as good whether you eat in or outside of premise. The chicken sandwiches always consistently meet expectations. Less is more; kudos to their small menu and focus on customer service. Give me another chicken sandwich, please!

Never thought I would review a Mickie D's, but here I am.

We waited 25+ minutes for a drive-through order for 4 cheeseburgers and a medium fry around 2pm. When we finally got our food,  the burgers were burned and the fries (the item we had to wait on for 25+ minutes) were cold. I'm fairly certain they simply looked over us from extremely poor organization - and about 10 other folks waiting. Many went in and came out visibly frustrated.

Something is highly wrong with this locations daily operations and it's obvious.

I came in today during lunch rush, I was surprised to see the soda machine completely ripped out of the wall, for that reason I gave atmosphere a 3. Please give this store their damn soda machine back, it’s quite crazy. During a rush with all screens full employees do not have time to give refills. They simply do NOT have time. The staff was amazing but like I said they do not have time to take refills during rushes. I didn’t get a refill since I knew I’d be standing their for 20 mins. Get more staff and pay them correctly, or get a soda machine back here. I won’t be eating here again if this is still a problem in the next two months. I feel so bad for your employees, it’s ridiculous.

The lady who took our order was great. The sandwich maker sucked. My fish was 8/10ths off the bun. Literally, only the very edge was on the bun! Food was hot and good otherwise. Restaurant was pretty clean as well.

Ordered a drink on the mobile app hole in the bottom of the cup now having to clean out the whole interior of my vehicle and my sweater was ruined. Their solution was they will give me a free one.

I ordered 3 mcchickens from the app, and when I got there they were ready within minutes. Great service and amazingly fresh chicken; however, as I ate my second mcchicken I found two small pieces of bone, one very sharp, in the chicken. I proceeded to call and warn them that they should be careful and maybe warn people to check their food in case kids eat them. They were very quick to usher me off the phone as they were busy and said they'd tell their manager. I know it's not their fault and I wasn't trying to complain, I just don't want some little kid choking or worse because there are bones in their food. Both their chicken distributor and mcdonalds need to be held accountable though, as we give them our trust and obscene amounts of money.

Be sure to check your order before you leave. When I got home, I realized my large fry was the amount of fries in a medium fry. So I did not get what I paid for.

There have been two incidents where I am in the drive-through and I have gotten skipped over three times. Tonight I pull up in the drive-through with a sleeping child in my car who is hungry I sit at the window and the guy says I need you to wait just a second so I wait another car pulls up their order is taken and they pull through so then the guy comes back on. I start giving him my order and he says I can’t hear you as I’m yelling into the speaker, and then he says I’m going to need you to wait a second so I wait again and then he comes back on and I start giving him my order and write in the middle of my order a girl pops on to say can I help you so then I’m telling her that I am distraught over this and the way that they’re doing the drive-through and she gives me attitude and says I don’t know can I help you , that is the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life and I have been in management multiple times at different restaurants. This was so not ok but the guy that brought my order out was nice and talked to me. He provided much better customer service.

Surprisingly sad.
I placed on order through the mobile app in order to expedite the process.
All together it took over 8 minutes from the time they said 'pull around' until the time I had our food.
It wasn't a complex order.
Two happy meals.
They were having basically everyone park and then bring out the food to you.
The standard used to be 90 seconds.
Perhaps the menu has gotten too big to facilitate this but the wait still seemed ridiculous.
The poor girl trying to bring out food was going car to car asking 'is this your food?' like she was trying to find a home for a lost child.

Get it together people.

This place has been renovated to be streamlined in a sense.  Nothing in the lobby to keep clean like condiments and soda dispensers.  That can be a disadvantage for the customer though.  We left there with our three drinks in hand.   It was a good experience!

My husband and i placed an order at the kiosk at 7:17, we watched as several delivery orders popped up on screen and were taken care of while we waited nearly 30 minutes for 3 sandwiches and some fries. We ended up finally receiving our food at 7:45. It's a shame that delivery orders seem to be more important than customers in-store.

Papa Murphy's | Take 'N' Bake Pizza

Love Papa Murphys! This last time I ordered on the app. It was done prior to the expected time and order was exactly right. If your looking for great pizza, good and fast service this is the place. Always so fresh.

I had a walk in order. There were two teenage kids arguing over who was going to "work" and make the pizza. This went on for far too long. One was newer and didn't know how to make my pizza. The other was busy doing nothing in the back. My pizza took a literal 42 minutes to make. They do not even cook them! Just assembled! Six other customers came in and waited just as long. Absolutely unacceptable.

Ordered a large pizza WITHOUT mushrooms had mushrooms also ordered mini pepperoni pizza wasn't made at same time. Would have given more stars but.... And they wanted a tip which couldn't say no on the cash register so they got a tip anyway. People wanting tip for not doing their job properly.......😔😳

None of my sauce or topping were weighed or measured. I got a thin crust Thai Chicken which did not bake crispy cause sauce was just poured on there with zero weight known. I ask to add tomatoes and no crushed pepper and had to stand there and tell them to add or take off cause it wasn’t on the slip. Working at a Papa Murphy’s before I was quite dissatisfied and disappointed in the pie I drove 2 hours for.

I ordered on line and added feta cheese to our Chicken Bacon Artichoke & paid extra for it and still didn’t get it. That happened twice. This time the spinach was wilted and nasty & I had to throw most of the spinach away. We have always loved Papa Murphys but the Republic one has gone down hill. I did the survey online & asked that a manager contact me & no one ever did.
A few months ago I went in and ordered a special Low Carb Style pizza and when the lady was making it I told her maybe she misunderstood me that I wanted it on the pan just no crust. I explained that i wanted everything else though. She was putting it in a pasta dish. She looked at me like I was an idiot and said this would bake the same as a pizza. I realized then it was fine & tried to be polite & thank her for doing it that way for me. When I got home I realized there was no sauce and NO FETA!!! I pay extra for the feta and never get it.

Wanted a change. So instead of going to Dublin donuts, I saw this cute bakery, coffee shop. Some of the trays were dirty so that was a bit off putting, other than that I did like the cleanliness of the shop. Customer service was great and did not wait in line too long for my Mocha frappe (which was super sweet, so would definitely try something else next time. I did try a donut which was really good. They have cakes, cookies and a variety of different drinks. It’s small but enough seating if you wanted to enjoy your pastries inside. I would revisit if in the area.

I live about 20 steps from this new cafe and pastry shop that just opened. I Love pastries so this might be a little problematic. I have had a few of the items in the past week. I plan on having quite a few more. The people and the service could not be better. Today I had a peach iced tea, it was a little sweet, but most people will love this… it was cold and refreshing with a great natural peach flavor. I also had an almond pastry with almond cream- it was delicious. I am posting pictures of items I have had since I have been in.
You can not go wrong with anything you choose. They have hot and iced coffees and teas. They have sweet and savory pastries. They offer tarts and cakes. This cafe is so inviting and comfy. Inside and outside.

I really wanted a 5 star bakery here. The pastries look amazing. I bought a raspberry lemon macaron. This was the one I expected to like the least. It wasn't bad at all. It did give a fake lemon after taste. Not horrible though. The almond pastry is the one I was most excited about. It has gorgeous almond slices and powdered sugar on top. The inside has some kind of cream. It's definitely not almond and was pretty flavorless. It made me very sad. I got a chocolate pastry. It has a very THIN layer of dark chocolate inside. While it is tasty I don't think it can be a true chocolate pastry with such a little amount. Service was awesome and the employees were friendly. I'm glad I came. Would I come back? Probably not. It really makes me a little sad. I really wanted the pastry to be more flavorful.
