Great low key neighborhood sports bar. Amazing home cooked food, friendly and quick service, and a nice location. The Steak Tips in au jus were amazing and the steak and sausage soup was a great side. I will be back again to try more of the menu!

Street corn dip was creamy and super good, could have made a meal on it alone. The Aloha burger was a neat concept and tastes pretty good, but the patty itself was super under seasoned. Didn’t notice much of the teriyaki sauce either. Prices were reasonable compared to any other major city. would come back if I’m ever in the area again.

Fantastic! I clearly waited too long to try this place, especially with how close they are.

It was my first time here, and Andrea was working the bar. She walked me through the menu, made her recommendations, and made me feel very welcome! She had a steady stream of regulars, knew everyone's name and drink order. The food was just as great as the service, and I was even given a pint glass as a warming gift!

I'm definitely looking forward to coming back and becoming a regular! ☺

We stopped here for dinner around 5:00 PM on a Monday evening. We were seated right away, however this place was very busy by 5:30. We had the Fish (Pollock) and chips and a Chicken Ranch Wrap, both were very good. The service was excellent and quite friendly and helpful. They have 12 beers on tap and several more in bottles as well as a full bar. We appreciated that even with several people in the restaurant, that it was quiet enough to carry on a normal conversation. This place is definitely worth a visit.

The wings are legit as mentioned many times in the reviews, service is superb but I think the prime rib could have used a little more seasoning. If you're in the mood for the best wings in town, look no further!

Parlour Ice Cream House

Really delicious homemade ice cream. The atmosphere is awesome, and the staff is really, really friendly. They have gluten-free and non-dairy options available, and all the flavors are really, really good. They make all their own cones here as well as ice cream.

Love this little place. Staff are incredibly friendly and fast. Ice cream is delicious and they have enough options to please anyone. When you walk in the place smells amazing due to them making their own waffle cones. Prices are extremely reasonable and you get a large amount of ice cream.

Hours on Google were not up to date with their seasonal changes.

Planned a date night around ending the evening at the parlor for dessert. I checked their Google listing for hours which said they closed at 10:30pm. We walked 8 blocks from our restaurant to find them closed at 9:30pm with a typed out page on the door saying their hours are different due to the fall transition.

Google listings being accurate are crucial. It would take 10 minutes to change the hours on their Google My Business compared to the time it took to type out and post their new hours on the door. Since it wasn't updated, I can't trust when they are open now going forward and can't plan them into my downtown plans.

I recommend calling ahead before heading over.

Living downtown and it is starting to feel like Summer, we stopped by to get some ice cream.   Not a lot of variety but the choices all looked fantastic.  We can’t wait to stop by more times this Summer and try more ice cream options.

The ice cream was pretty good. Not the best I've had, but solid. Prices are reasonable. One thing that bothered me was that they don't have the ice cream flavors written/posted on a big board like most ice cream places do. You don't know what the flavors are until you get up to the people scooping. I think this makes the line move slower than it needs to which inconveniences the customers and probably slows sales for the business!

Fancy bowl

Had a lunch meal here. I had never tried it and it was not busy. You are self seated when you arrive and then order at the front when you are ready. Then, the food was brought to the table. The food is conveniently given so you can package the leftovers to take home. Food was a cool variety of things that differ from the usual rice/noodles with whatever meat as well as tasty. We were in and out quickly and I am definitely wanting to try it again next time we are downtown SF!

Really great experience here!! The staff was friendly and helpful. I got the build your own poke bowl (recently discovered that I LOVE poke), and I got Tokyo spicy chicken as the protein. I love the way that you can fill out a sheet with exactly what you want for the bowl, and there are also some recommended combos as well. The sushi was good, but I will be coming back for another poke bowl!! (It looks small from the pic, but I got the small size and it was plenty. There’s a good amount of rice and other toppings underneath the chicken)

Lunch today was delicious! First time diner at Fancy Bowl, loved it! The dining room was clean and bright with contemporary music playing overhead. The friendly staff was making fresh batches of food right in front of us. We were served in a timely manner and our dishes were absolutely wonderful. Will definitely visit again!

I travel for work and like to do local when I can today I tried fried dumplings, Japanese fried rice and the beef Ramen bowl. I was very happy with the quality of food. Taste was amazing. Probably some of the best rice I've ever had. The brisket in the ramen was sooo good. I think the only "critique" I have is I prefer my egg yolk a little less cooked. Service was great too. If I come back to town I will stop by!

I walked in on a Thursday around 6pm and ordered a poke bowl to go. Order process was very easy and fast. The bowls automatically come with items that other restaurants consider toppings. My bowl was huge and personally it will last 2 meals. I’ll definitely return!

Went in the drive thru. Quick, friendly service. Food quality? 🤔 Fast food…It is fine if you are starving…hamburger was not the best hamburger of my life…

We were traveling and decided to stop and eat here. Had a party of 5, staff was great! Our food was made fresh. I had the new nacho Burger it was delicious! We had to wait just a few minutes which was totally fine but we all were offered free frostys!!! Thank you to all the staff that night!!

We always enjoy the fresh food here, especially the chili and frosty's!  The service is friendly,  and they make a 1-lane drive thru move nicely.   Their burgers and premium salads are always good.  We eat here regularly and will continue to do so.

I'm an out of town customer from Utah and I was struggling processing my order through the app in the store so I proceeded to the counter where Anna helped me. She provided amazing exceptional service to complete my order. She was amazing for the frontline of the store and I commend her for being so awesome, as someone (me) that has over 2 decades of experience in customer service. Kudos to her!

Decent. Line was super long. They need another register. My chicken sandwich could have had a lot more dressing. The staff were friendly. The table we sat out could have used a good wipe off.

Fresh Mediterranean Express

Fresh Mediterranean Express in Waukee - wow!! Haven’t had a 🇬🇷 meal that good in a hot second. Had a cllassic gyro, Mediterranean spiced fries, rose lemonade and baklava. The owner was very friendly and everything came out quickly. It was all so good. I have absolutely zero complaints.  Extremely filling, delicious and very fresh meal (that we had leftovers of). Worth it! Try it!

I walked in to grab a snack to go while my husband did indoor golf next door, and I’m pretty sure this was the best food I’ve had in the DSM metro- and im a huge foodie. I was greeted so openly and excitedly and was offered guidance on what to order. The food was freaking fantastic. I just found my go to spot, and it is def not around the corner from my house. The trip will be well worth it. Thank you for the incredible experience!

Came in on a Saturday, when we arrived we were greeted immediately, the staff was friendly and helped my husband decide what to order. I ordered a gyro and Greek fries, my husband had a platter with gyro and red pepper hummus. We also got a drink which I'm not sure (I asked the woman taking care of us to surprise me) but was maybe a saffron lemonade, excellent flavor, I would go back just to drink it again. Every bite was absolutely phenomenal. Fresh ingredients, tasty through and through. Check them out, you will not regret it.

The fresh platter was good to share as a light dinner.  Ingredients were very fresh with great Mediterranean flavors.  Tables inside or on the outside patio makes this a good choice for lunch or dinner.

McDonald's

I hit the drive-through at about 10:15 pm. while on a cross-country trip. The staff was prompt and friendly with service. The food was typical McDonald's but obviously fresh with hot and crispy fries.. I was pleasantly surprised that the shake machine was still available. Lots of times, it is closed for cleaning at that time of night. Overall, it was a good McDonald's experience.

I am an undercover worker. Had a bad morning after overhearing a Coworker say out loud! How much she hates her job and doesn’t want to work there anymore!  Well guess what? I’ll make sure she never works again! My Food was great! Her attitude needs improvement!

We actually went through the drive-thru and the gentleman that was taking our order was very nice , seemed happy, and was generally interested in what we were ordering. We had a specialty order and he read back the entire order that we placed and upon receiving our items everything was perfect. We did not go inside however, but the facility is brand new so I would expect it would be spotless.

I recently had the misfortune of visiting McDonald's, and it was an absolute disaster. The wait time for my order was beyond belief. I could have grown a garden and harvested my own vegetables in the time it took them to prepare a simple meal.

The staff seemed to be in a state of perpetual chaos, with no sense of urgency or customer service. It felt like they were moving in slow motion while the rest of the world was in fast-forward.

When my order finally arrived, it was cold and unappetizing. I could hardly believe that after all that time, they couldn't even manage to get it right. The taste was a sorry excuse for fast food, and it left me wondering if they had forgotten how to cook.

I left McDonald's feeling frustrated, disappointed, and with a sense of wasted time. This experience was a stark reminder of why I should think twice before setting foot in one of their establishments again. It's safe to say that this visit will be my last.

Walmart Supercenter

Shopping experience was good. Several employees said hi and good morning. Only thing I don’t like is when employees are stocking they place their carts in ways that cause you to have to go around or to different aisle. Not so much ch a complaint as a “something to consider” when dealing with flow of customer traffic.

This location has all sorts of problems. The theft tracker on the self checkout goes off for any rapid movement. Then of course it takes a while to get an employee. Then the machine struggles to accept a card which inevitably ends up working later. But being accused of theft and getting shown a video of you scanning the item that you were accused of stealing is enough to chase me away from any establishment. Not returning.

Relative to other walmarts, this one is pretty good. Their curbside pickup is extremely handy, and they've been helpful when they've made mistakes on our orders. It's one of the only places for groceries on the northwest side of town, and it's relatively clean for a walmart. Overall glad to have it nearby!

Went in for 2 new tires and an oil change. (Only 1 car in the bays  so not busy) 3 HOURS LATER they finally finished. I had requested the new tires to go on the front and they put them on the back. Went back into have them correct it, ANOTHER HOUR before they were done with that, and they forgot to put the hubcaps back on. Beyond frustrating!! Don’t recommend

Had to get a new battery for our Jeep. Called service at 7am and was told I battery and price for my Jeep and told to come down there showed up and Gabe wa there new nothing about the call and said person probably didn’t work in service. He found the correct battery and it was double the price. Was not able to schedule a time today to have it installed advised him would attempt to see if I had the tools for it. I got home and didn’t and called him he told me to come back and would get me in I waited an hour as he was swamped and had no help in his area especially after Black Friday. Needs more help. He took care of me and deserves help. Thank you Gabe. You are the best!

Papa Murphy's | Take 'N' Bake Pizza

Every single time I am more than satisfied with the service and quality of the pizza and salads! We are frequent customers and love repeat ordering - quick and easy online ordering and the food is delicious. We get the Papa's Favorite Large thin crust and at times the keto version plus a club salad. Top notch!!

This place will not honor the $5 pizzas on Fridays! I think it's sad especially for seniors on a limited income. The manager claims they are losing money because they are not busy. Maybe if they had better customer service at this location they would get more business.

Purchased the Crustless Pizzas on Wednesday 1-5-22. I got three kinds (the Cowboy, the Vegetable Delux & the Favorite Combination). They were terrific!

I had occasion to speak with the manager and he was very friendly and helpful.

The service was super fast and my order was accurate.

I will definitely purchase this again for my mom who is on Keto and for my husband and me who are not practicing Keto.

Loved everything about this place. The flavors were superb and the food very fresh. The service was efficient, friendly and overall excellent. They also were very accommodating of our young children. We loved the classic music and ambience. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience at the restaurant last night. The food was exceptionally delicious - a must-try for American diners. The unforgettable flavors are sure to be a hit. Additionally, the service was outstandingly impressive. Highly recommended!

Just had the best lunch I have had in a long time. I thought this was a new restaurant but found out they just moved and but been established for 18 years in Des Moines.

The humus was probably the best humus I’ve had in Des Moines. We stopped in just after the lunch rush so we received a little extra attention with it being a little slower which was nice. Karren (I believe her name was) shared with us how they prepare their food which was a nice touch. Very friendly.

I’m super excited to have found this restaurant that is close to my office.

It’s a small, contemporary feel and the food is great quality. Not that frozen processed stuff you can find dinning out.

I’d recommend starting with hummus and ending with the baklava with Turkish coffee.  We had the jalapeño chicken wrap and the garlic chicken wrap. Both extremely flavorful. Chicken was very tender.

I’d also recommend asking for a side of the hot “sauce”. Went great with the humus and I added a little to my wrap too.

I’ll definitely be back.

Cooking your own food is worth it for this pizza. Try the chicken bacon stuffed pizza. It's delicious.

Stopped at 6:20 tonight to get a pizza, door locked, kid unlocked it and told me they closed early, I could get cheese bread.........No way that is acceptable. The hours are posted til 8!!! Been going there for yrs, maybe not now!!!!!!

Ordered pizza by phone. Indicated pick up would be after 6pm. Was not notified of early closing time .. website says 8pm. Lights out and closed when we arrived at 7:20. Today we were advised the closing time is posted on door ..no help. Been a long time customer ... thinking twice now. No apology.

I had never had a problem with getting a Military discount at this location. I always ask if they offer a Military discount even if I’ve asked the same pizza artist. Never was an issue until tonight. The Manager kept saying we “usually don’t offer it” being very disrespectful. Kill them with kindness and still tipped them $5 😆
