The Walmart super center is the best option if you’re looking for variety and good prices. The place has everything one can need. The freshness is excellent and the staff is welcoming . I’m impressed

I'm convinced there may only be 3 employees working here, and 2 of them are management. I've only ever seen one of the 753 aisles being run by a human, all the rest are self-checkout. Almost everything you need is going to be locked up behind plexiglass, and finding an actual employee that doesn't just ignore you exist *or* is actually in possession of that key is a quest akin to trying to return the evil ring back to Mordor.

This store is always clean and organized. The employees are helpful and always ready to help you find that hard to find item. I’ve been here several times and never had a bad experience.

It’s pretty mellow here as Walmarts go.  People quietly do their shopping, each in their own bubbles.  People in Fairbanks are fairly friendly and private at the same time, in general.  This Walmart is as huge as any other Walmart anywhere.  I only go here once a year.

Big store with a great friendly and helpful team. We were after a wide variety of goods and staff were brilliant at directing us to the appropriate aisles. Prices were excellent and wide variety of sizes and products.

Love that they're redesigning the store and finally adding a good amount of self-checkouts. Used to be extremely long lines with only 6-self checks. Now there are 26!!! Much better

Listen, I don’t know if y’all been to this WalMart lately but they have really stepped up their game! There’s new inventory, to include food and clothing, there’s a new set up! The workers actually help you and there have been an increase in real life cashiers! I am extremely thankful for the effort they have put in and I have increased my visits because of it!

It's walmart. It is what is. I'm annoyed pet supplies got moved to the back. I used to be able to be in and out and now I have to walk through the whole store. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This place is big and good. I found everything and anything I wanted . It was lost of working people on flor I was able to ask questions. If I needed help I got some one to answer.
I definitely will be back here when I pass by.

The Cookie Jar Restaurant

I really enjoyed the new twist on mozzarella sticks with the cheese being pepper Jack instead. The food was good. The service was kind of slow. I think I would have enjoyed eating here for breakfast more. The waitress walked by our empty water glasses like 12 times before filling them. She had a lot of tables and was never just standing around with nothing to do in her defense.

Dropped by on Sunday morning. Hostess  was friendly and sat me quickly despite how busy it was. The kitchen was really slow - it took about 30 minutes for my order to come out.

Food was ok. I ordered the French Toast Platter. They skimped a bit on powdered sugar. Ham was tasty and nicely seared.

You know it’s going to be good when you need a steak knife for your cinnamon roll!! The homemade hash was excellent, have to love the fresh stuff vs canned.  Eggs perfectly cooked, sourdough toast lovely and good coffee.  We were lucky it wasn’t a long wait for a late brunch, definitely recommend. I HAVE to mention to out of towners, it is BEHIND the car dealership, so driver between them.  We did circle around a bit.😀

Came here for breakfast while visiting for the first time to meet my boyfriend’s family. I decided to try the quiche, and it was so tasty! I’ve never had a quiche this rich, cheesy, and savory with such a delectable crust. Really flavorful! I’d love to come back and try more dishes.

▪️Google directions is incorrect. It stops in the middle of Wembley Ave with no signs of the destination. Once you are on Danby St, it will ask you to take the first exit on the first round about on Danby St towards Wembley Ave

Instead, continue on Danby St and take right on Bainbridge Blvd. Then the first right on Cadillac Ct.

▪️Ordered Becca Burger and got Bacon Cheeseburger. As a replacement they removed bacon and brought it back.

▪️ You can probably order food and the visit the town of fairbanks. High chance that it won’t be ready by the time you are back
▪️ Takes an 50mins to an hour to get anything except coffee and hot chocolate
▪️ Slow service is not due to the lack of servers. Kitchen is not up to the speed, rather it’s not at any speed.

I was the first customer through the door. I found everything I was looking for, but staff is about as happy and cheerful as a bereaved family that just found out they're not in the will.  GOD only knows how their mangers treat them.  Wish they would cheer up, greet your customers with a smile and nod at the very least.

Fun fact, if they screw up your online pickup order, you have to call corporate and cannot easily be refunded. I did not receive $34 worth of items I ordered and 2 items were substituted without telling me or changing the prices.

I try to be loyal to the Kroger brand because I'm from Cincinnati (where HQ is), but this was egregious. I will be shopping at Carr's from now on because they carry a couple products Fred Meyer never has anyway.

They take way too much of my money. Love how consistent the cashiers are and we have our favorites we always seek out. With supply chain issues they are out of items of late but still our go to shopping center. The specialty cheese section is hands down the best in town and always a treat.

Good people in the jewelry dept always friendly & attentive.  FM stores have a commitment to community service & involvement.

Bought plenty of groceries. Came to about $400+.  Their brown eggs are cheaper than Fred Meyers and Safeway.  Was a good shopping experience. Couldn't leave without ice-cream.  Haha

10/9/23- I found some good deals on the same souvenirs in downtown. If you have time shop around and come here for good prices!

They actually had lines open with real people running the cash register It was amazing thank you!!!

My delivery was missing most items today. Driver stole them. Store refused to help me. Reported store to BBB and Attorney Generals office. Take no responsibility for bad actions. Driver was Christopher, I tried to ask him where my other things were and he ran away! He stole my purchases.  I filed a police report and talked with Corporate in Arkansas.  Beware !

Typical Walmart in location, cleanliness, and organization. The item I was looking for was out of stock but I looked above the shelf and found one hidden above. I would come back if needs be when I am back in town.

Sipping Streams Tea Company

I got the sweet peach white tea and three of their creamed honeys as well as their water bottle with a strainer at the bear paw festival today and the customer service is beyond amazing. The creamed honeys are so wonderful and flavorful that I bought three!! Will be recommending this to my fellow tea drinkers!

I visited Fairbanks for the first time ever and checked out this place Friday,  wonderful lady named Madison helped us Friday and let me tell you. She is by my definition a Teaologist.She was very  informative and i learned a substantial amount of info. More than the Museum we went to later that day!

I came back today and she was there working and helped me again today   If I am fortunate enough to visit Fairbanks again I will be back because of Madison's top-tier hospitality.

My husband and I are new to tea and Sipping Streams has been amazing! The staff are always very excited to share what teas they love and answers any of our questions, a store that we will be coming back to for years to come.

I've been coming to sipping streams since it opened and it has been a staple in my life from the first sip.

My life has taken me far from home, but when I come back here to fairbanks I always make it a point to stock up and sit down for a pot of tea with lunch.

Love the product, the selection, the food, and the staff.

If you're in fairbanks make it a point to stop by to warm up.

I absolutely love Sipping Streams!  Their tea is amazing all around and their customer service is superb!

Great Harvest Bread Co., Anchorage, AK

Spicy Italian sandwich was delicious. Gave us a free slice of goodness of our choice to munch while waiting for food.

The bread is fantastic and it makes for a great sandwich.  5 stars for the fresh bread and flavorful sandwiches.  Only reason it isn’t 5 stars in the rating, they seemed to get the orders out of order when being made.  I know some sandwiches will take longer than others but I got my sandwich and my son, who ordered right after me, took much longer.  Several people who ordered after us left with sandwiches in hand.  But I will definitely recommend this place to friends and be repeat customer when I’m in town.

Great local place to enjoy a wonderful menu and choices of hot and cold sandwiches! Cookies usually sell out before noon, but are just as amazing!

order: Turkey Cobb sandwich(Turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese, lettuce, onion and tomato, blue cheese sauce. ordered no onion, no blue cheese(mayo instead) and extra tomato

recieved: no bacon, no extra tomato(I hope 3 half slices is not extra which cost an extra $1) and half a teaspoon of mayo

it's painfully obvious that the help doesn't listen and cannot write.

As a lifelong Alaskan, GHBC has always been a go to staple for tons of reasons, great bread, creative options, good sandwiches, etc. Lately, not so much. The bread for the most part continues to be a leading reason to visit, but the lunch menu has now become "conservative" at best.

In the past, these sandwiches could be thrown through a car windscreen. Just a brick of wholesome goodness. After visiting with my wife today, a spicy Italian sandwich that has a single slice of ham a single lettuce cut, and, I think I got the inner two rings from an onion.

Oddly, the price still remained the same.

I would advise other lunch locations for the "best bang for your buck" factor, but, the bread is still good.

Enjoy now before the bread samples become $.50 a  slice.

It's the biggest I've been in. A lot of stuff to see and find. The biggest problem is the size. Maybe having map handouts to where things are, an advertised web map, or signs. But everything was clean, the floors and shelves spotless. The staff was helpful. Overall a good visit.

It seems to be very over run with homeless . The employees are friendly and helpful. Clean and well kept aisles as well as people cleaning . I’m getting better at shopping there. The lady at the self check out was intense but helpful. After a few pffff, or pushing me aside. Trying to help me. I’m very particular about my food and who touches it.

A very busy part of town. Souvenirs were great designs and low prices. The customer ahead of us in line was rude to the cashier, so we felt for her. Our cashier had a bright smile when we treated her kindly.  I'm glad we bought Alaska t-shirts here.

Big selection and overall the lowest prices in town. Great value brand is often just as good or better than the name brands so you can save a lot of money.

I needed directions but the African immigrant I approached literally could not speak a lick of English! When I asked the question he looked troubled. I said to him.. “you literally cannot speak a word of English! What do you do around here?” He just gave me the zombie stare then disappeared into the aisles. Another Walmart moment. Walmart has the goods though!

Wooden Spoons Alaska

As a Jersey girl in Alaska, it’s been hard not having a bagel place here. Anchorage was overdue for one, and this one isn’t just filling a missing demand here. The bagels are exceptional! I finally was able to try their bagels and they taste exactly like NY bagels. And the homemade cream cheese is some of the best I’ve had! This place gets the NJ stamp of approval!!

Excellent bagels!! I’ve been waiting for 10 years for a halfway decent bagel shop in Anchorage. These bagels are not just halfway decent but excellent!! Get the cream cheese to go with them too!

We went out in the snow storm today because we needed to try this bagel place, and it did not disappoint. The owner was lovely, and the bagels are delicious. We also got some of their homemade salmon cream cheese and  we 10/10 recommend. Thankful for local places like this one, and we’ll definitely be back!

These bagels are so good and remind me of east coast bagels, they had the perfect chew! And the Nordic bagel was awesome, we’ll definitely be back!

Middle Way Cafe

Middle away Cafe is fantastic. In terms of quality and quantity, you get what you pay for and more! In my experience, the food has always been better in-house than to-go order. I can’t say enough about the quality of the food ingredients and the pleasant feeling it leaves on the stomach post gorge. Enjoy!

Got the Baja bowl. I have celiac and a dairy allergy. I chose it because it sounded okay and I wouldn't have to fuss with substitutions. Well, it was so so good. Really delicious.
I also got a ginger berry smoothie.
I will get both again. So good. And really kind and helpful, cheerful staff as well. Great experience.

Friendly, self-serve water, and pastry options. BLT was solid, but the soup of the day can be a hit or miss. After eating, I could feel my stomach become healthy and happy. Pastries were also quite nice. Vegetarian options available. Would recommend!

Some grab n go items available if you're in a rush. I got the Avocado spring rolls - they were incredibly fresh and even came with 2  sauces so you have plenty of sauce for each spring roll.
I also tried the vegan Ruben - loved how crunchy every bite was. The taste was really good, I wish it had a bit more sauerkraut but that's just a personal preference thing.

There's tons of places to sit, I was surprised to see how far back the cafe actually goes. And there's a back deck for sunny day dining as well.  It was quite loud inside but the tables in the back were a tad more quiet. Overall I loved it and am so excited to go back and try more good food!

They have several vegan options! Every vegan dish I have tried so far has been delicious and filling. They also have vegan cupcakes and other treats. I’ve tried the cupcakes (which are also gluten free) and they are so good!
