This is a wonderful place! I see Elizabeth for her osteopathic bodywork and she helps me so much. I have complex, chronic alignment problems from past injuries and surgeries, and her gentle, precise, highly intuitive work makes me feel tremendously better. She is infinitely kind and brilliant. The staff is kind and helpful, and the facility itself is beautiful.

David and Renee are both excellent practitioners and are clearly passionate about what they do.  I've been receiving treatment for the past few years following a major thoracic procedure which left me with many post-surgical issues (scarring, atrophy, dysfunction).  Their care is always administered in a thoughtful and measured manner such that it partners nicely with the body's natural healing and recovery mechanisms.  The therapy I have received has helped my body return to a state of normalcy while recovering and rebuilding from the trauma.

I’ve been getting manual therapy from Elizabeth McClain at Boulder Bodyworks for years now due to lower back problems (disc herniations, sciatica, etc). Not only is she an amazing person but also one of the main reasons I’ve been able to live an active and fulfilling life despite my injuries. Her along with the whole crew at Boulder Bodyworks are just great and I can’t say enough about how much they’ve helped me over the years! Would recommend to anyone wanting to improve their body mechanics in general or heal from injury!

The entire staff at BoulderBodyWorks is exceptional. They truly care and spend a lot of time making sure they understand your body’s needs. I have worked with all of the instructors and they are all wonderful, you never get the same workout twice.

I LOVE BoulderBodyworks. Every teacher and therapist is highly trained, insightful and kind. Every expedience I have had there has been superb. I’ve taken private and class Pilates lessons and had body work as well. I can’t imagine a better place.

Fires Fitness Center

I am in the Marine Corps and strictly have been on Marine bases. I can say this is the nicest gym I’ve ever worked out at. It’s huge. Has a lot of options and room. Very spacious and in good condition. The environment was good, no loud music though which is the only thing I thought was missing. Going back!

Great gym, 100 percent I.D. check so have it on you. Awesome staff, the heavy set lady is a bit rude but I ignore her. Clean and very well maintained. Awesome equipment awesome environment. I thought about going to planet fitness, but fires is just right for me... Props to the staff, they are always cool, it seems like a great place to be employed, I hope that ladies attitude gets better..

Great place to workout. Enjoyed the morning classes. One thing I hope is they get some more fitness classes  in the evening for those who can come afterwork. Overall good workout center.

Has a family room so kid friendly! Allows stay at home mamas with little ones to workout in a separate room that’s full of toys, in that same room there is gym equipment.

Good place to work out on post. They open at 8am and it is 100% ID check/scan in so make sure you have it with you.

Sweet Side Yoga

I have loved attending yoga classes at Sweet Side Yoga in Evergreen. I found the studio when I was searching for a local prenatal yoga class in Evergreen and I am so grateful to have found Amy's pre & postnatal class. It helped me out before and after my baby came and also came with an added gift of finding a community of fellow moms & new friendships. Amy is so good at leading classes that help you feel better and I love ending each class with tea & a treat :)

Sweet Side Yoga is the most welcoming place to improve your yoga practice. Classes are generally smaller, and I have found it to be a studio where I can grow and practice without feeling intimidated. My absolute favorite classes are the family classes-teaching my toddler all about wellness, self care, and yoga is such a blessing. Family yoga is an awesome combination of movement, play, and music! Prenatal yoga at Sweet side has made my pregnancy a joy! I can't say enough good things about this studio.

This is such a down to earth, friendly, and inclusive yoga studio. The owner Amy brings such love and expertise to her teaching and is accepting of everyone and where they are on their individual journey. I highly recommend all the classes at Sweet Side Yoga as well as the special workshops and retreats!

This is such a warm, inviting and approachable studio to start or grow your yoga practice. The smaller class sizes allow the teachers to customize each class based on the participants. They are awesome at being aware of any physical constraints and providing modifications for injuries, chronic pain, as well as pre and post natal members. There are several classes available that encourage you to bring your children along to participate with the group eliminating the need for childcare. Amy, the owner, truly cares about her clients' wellbeing and has gone through extensive yoga training in many different disciplines.  Classes almost feel like a private lesson with the company of several other clients.  Each class ends with optional warm tea and sometimes even a sweet treat. And to top it off, the pricing at the studio is extremely reasonable!

True Yoga Evergreen

Whether you're a yogi or simply looking to take an expert instructed class, this is by far the best facility. True Yoga provides a welcoming and safe environment for your flow/practice. Very friendly and wonderful energy!

I highly recommend True Yoga where I had a terrific experience today (8.28.20.)  I'm visiting Evergreen from NYC where I teach hot yoga. Our studios are still closed, so needless to say, I'm aching for some hot yoga and True Yoga delivered! Morgan was so kind to me this morning when I looked lost and had forgotten my mat. Kasie lead a fantastic Vinyasa class, and Jackie brought it home with her fluid and challenging Power Flow. Both classes were intelligently sequenced as each pattern built smartly on the last. Both teachers taught will skill and confidence. Their unique song lists were fun and inspiring, and I very much appreciated the use of Sankskirt. I will definitely return when I'm in Evergreen next time visiting my family. Well done!

True Yoga provides a welcoming environment and a wide variety of yoga classes.  Their studio is always super clean, they have full locker rooms, their teachers are awesome, and their prices are competitive with other studios in the area.  I love their variety of hot or "Bikram" yoga classes which are a bit more challenging, especially their hot power vinyasa. If hot yoga isn't your thing, they offer several restorative and traditional yoga classes perfect for beginners or those nursing an injury or dealing with chronic pain.  I felt very welcome and comfortable at this studio the second I walked in the door.  Give them a try!

Such great teachers, welcoming environment, strong yoga community. Beth is one of the best businesswomen I have met in the yoga community. This studio has many props to support your practice and the heated floors are lovely!

True Yoga is a great place for all sorts of hot yoga. They have the best yoga instructors and it’s always very clean. Go, you won’t regret it!

The Original La James College

Emily is a lifesaver on top of being a Rock Star makeup artist and hair stylist. The night before my wedding my makeup artist had to cancel. Emily came through in such a big way, took the stress off, looked at the makeup style I wanted and executed perfectly. I gave her creative control of my hairstyle and it was so much prettier than I had initially imagined, just waves. She added a boho braid to make sure my tresses weren't blowing in my face during the windy outdoor winter setting we chose. Gracie came to assist with the lashes and her own lash glue after the glue I had just wasn't working like we wanted. They saved the experience of being the bride,  pampered, taken care of and made it perfect. I cannot thank the girls and staff enough. Absolutely go see Emily! You won't be disappointed!

Second visit on 3.3.22...Emily didn't disappoint yet again. My tresses look amazing if I do say so myself.

I have officially graduated the massage therapy program at La James! I lived for 8 months in their dorms. Wich was a huge blessing! So convenient to live directly above the school in a nice comfy apartment that quickly turned into my safe place and sanctuary! I loved the school, the owners and the teachers! Every morning they greet each student with a cheerful smile and greeting, they actually care about their students and will go above and beyond for us! I'm not the easiest of a person. I'm complex, I'm spiritual and I really love the way I felt welcomed and a part of something much bigger than myself.  To feel accepted is huge! I love this school and recommend it to everyone!

What a wonderful relaxing atmosphere for a  massage and facial!! I’ve been to LaJames several times and always get friendly, professional services. Very cozy and peaceful area the college has for the facials and massages. The staff is great to get clients in, even at the last minute !! It’s a nice and VERY affordable place for pedicures too. I just had a pedicure last week here . I now have happy toes and feet 🦶 ready for flip flops 🩴 🤩. It’s also a SUPER fun place to have birthday 🎂 🥳parties for kids! The decor is amazing and it’s a clean place. Stop in and give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been a client at La James College for many years. The atmosphere is very pleasant, extremely clean area, always greeted very warmly upon my entrance and seated almost immediately. The instructors and students are ALL GREAT also! Highly recommend visiting them or attending their classes!

LaJames is definitely a secret gem of Mason City. For students who want to be able to enjoy a "college" experience complete with an apartment option that is very reasonable for out of state students. Very fairly priced and a thorough complete educational platform. The services rendered by the students are very attractively priced and are teacher supervised. A great option for value driven consumers. Go and support this school! get that facial, have your nails done and get a haircut for the fraction of the price you find elsewhere.

Shoshoni Yoga Retreat

Had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the retreat hut cabin was great, especially for the price. Clean facilities in such a beautiful wilderness setting. I enjoyed all the activities and the meals were delicious. I would love to go back again sometime!

My first time at Shoshoni was wonderful as it’s truly a unique and charming place to visit. Over the weekend my favorite parts of my yoga retreat included the hatha yoga classes (which were 1.5 hours each inc. meditation led by lovely yoga instructors), evening temple with chanting and meditation, sacred art in the art cabin, and the gorgeous views. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating of my food allergies, and my fellow guests were all very pleasant. My friend and I stayed in a cabin, which was spacious, clean and the bed was comfy. I actually ended up having great phone service (T-mobile) so I was able to check in on my family since this was my first time away from my 2 & 4 year olds, but I took a break from technology, otherwise. The itinerary is packed with so many activities that I chose to slow down halfway through my visit and skipped a few things (sadly, didn’t wake up early enough for fire temple) to ensure that I took time for myself to relax in the gorgeous location that is Shoshoni.

Shoshoni is absolutely magical.
Attended an overnight anytime Retreat and had a blast. The schedule is constructed well and offers many options for any visitors taste.
The vegetarian meals were delicious!
The staff goes above and beyond to know each guests name and special needs that may have (physical, dietary, etc).
The family style set up offers many opportunities to get to know the many people that are coming from various walks of life.
Bring appreciate attire to enter the main Temple and ceremonies. Yoga attire is acceptable in all other areas.

Shoshoni and the people there have been such an inspiration. When I found out about their yoga teacher training a week before it started, with no knowledge of Shoshoni/ShambavAnanda past what I could find on the internet, I jumped in given the great reviews and the fact that they appeared to take yoga seriously. I had no idea I would come out the other side changed for the better as a person, better as a practitioner of yoga asanas, and as someone who finds comfort and learning through meditation and mantra (fairly new to me prior). They also prepared me extremely well as a yoga teacher, and the effect the people there have had on me in 3 weeks has been profound and life changing. I learned so much more than I ever expected at a YTT and I see why they get such good reviews. I now see yoga as a way to be a better version of myself (and for my future students) mentally, spiritually, and physically, at a very fundamental level, and not just as a way to stay in shape and be flexible. I said that they take yoga "seriously"- and they do- but always with laughter, plenty of breaks, activities, and always modify/accommodate.

The food is incredible and made by the instructors who are also the staff; it is clearly made fresh and with love. They are also extremely accommodating and helpful, and again just inspiring and wonderful humans to be around and spend time with. The hiking trails nearby are well marked and take you to fantastic vistas, right from the lodge. I didn't have a car and probably hiked more than anyone when I was there, so access is great. Mats, yoga props, bath towels, toiletries, tea/coffee/water/fruit are always available, there's a hot tub and sauna that are well maintained... I can't say anything negative about this place. I have a loving family back home and I missed them terribly, but I was sad to leave Shoshoni. I will be back one day, I hope. If you have the opportunity to do a weekend retreat, or YTT or mediation training here, you should jump at the opportunity. I'm glad I did. ❤️

Shoshoni is my favorite place on Earth! I've been visiting for 12 years on yoga retreats and as a work study student.

The meditation practices keep me coming back, because they are real and authentic. My life is so much better when I meditate and Shoshoni taught me how.

I love the lovingly prepared food, the kind residents and teachers, the beautiful temples filled with sacred art, and the sweet dogs who will hike with you on the trails of the 200-acre property.

Remember a headlamp, snow boots, scarf & mittens, long skirts or dress slacks for temple, and a swim suit for the sauna and hot tub.

Only AT&T has service and there's wi-fi in all the buildings, but do yourself a favor and put your email on out of office, put your phone on airplane mode, and tell loved ones to call the office if they really need to reach you.

This is the perfect place for introverts and highly sensitive people to unwind and turn their attention inside.

BOOT CAMP MADNESS

After two months of nearly daily attendance, my attendance this month was spotty due to an injury and personal reasons. Eventhough I wasn't able to attend regularly, Carlos was paid up front for july dues. Today out of the blue he texts and says he assumes I'm not coming back and to remove myself from the chat group.

I had intended to return this Thursday and had a check ready to go for August.  Very unprofessional to make an assumption and tell me to leave in one text without even asking what my situation is. People have lives. People get injured. He seemed understanding of that until this random and unprompted text.

I’ve never really been a workout person but BCM is really fun, it’s always different , and it’s super welcoming.

Amarillo Fit body Boot Camp

Coaches are encouraging and motivating. The workouts get the heart rate going and I love that I don't have to write them! The coaches have also helped me with nutrition changes and a more balanced healthy lifestyle. I also love that the workouts are 30-45 minutes so it's easier to get in and get on with my day. If I could give 6 stars I would!

I went to AFBBC for a free trial session last month, signed up same day and haven’t looked back since. The coaches are great and the workouts are different each day. I finally feel like I can reach some long overdue goals with their knowledge and guidance without feeling inferior. I’d recommend again and again!

I joined wanting to build strength and obviously lose some weight. I've been going 5 days every week, and I absolutely LOVE it. The workout is planned and the coaches guide you through the 30 minutes. I wish I found this sooner instead of feeling hopeless and lost in what to do in a regular gym.

Great place to work out!  Love the coaches and the style of workout. Love that it’s different every day and challenging for both the already fit and the trying to get fit!  Highly recommended!

I love Fit Body Boot Camp! This place is so welcoming and accommodating to everyone who walks in! I love seeing all the different body types come together to work hard and have fun! Highly recommend!

Cedar Valley SportsPlex

This place has all you need. Two great, massive soccer/American football fields, lockers, weight lifting room, treadmill room, two tennis/volleyball courts, one track field, and a swimming pool with lap swim and waterslides. The track field is very nice, it has a lane for jogging and one for walking. You can look out of the wide windows while jogging. The pool is very cheap and is good for kids. The gym is in great condition. Would recommend getting monthly pass if you are planning to go there often.

We went to a football tournament here. There were a lot of areas to sit and watch. The facility was clean and easy to get to with parking right across the street.  They had basketball courts and a fun looking pool that was having a birthday party. We did not use the pool.

Had a birthday party and it was very nice and plenty of space the kids had a blast on the playground equipment p

Mondays and Thursdays mayor's League youth basketball from 5:30 to maybe 9:00 good competition fun to watch

My only concern was how far away everything was and there were only paths in front of the complex but not through it. You definitely need a wagon if you are carrying things here because it's a long walk to the back fields.
