Terrible customer service! Tried to speak to both individuals and they wouldn't speak back!

I've been here once, and it is the only GNC I have been to. It's a suite in a strip mall-like area, so of course not incredibly large. The selection is decent, prices can be a bit higher compared to larger franchise shops or of course purchasing online. They have some items you can't find locally very easily otherwise. There are some products I purchase often that are the same price or cheaper as options I have found online, such as Now Eucalyptus Oil.

The employee was extremely friendly, and actually rather insistent about making conversation and going quite above and beyond to look through a large book they have on hand to find products that would meet my criteria. I think perhaps the employee was a bit bored as it was late at night and had probably been pretty quiet there for a while.

Employees don’t have a clue what they’re doing half the time and just push you to buy things you’re not looking for. GNC Ankeny is much better than this one

The lady working there provided a good experience and helped me setup my account. She helped me with what I need and did an awesome job

Went there to ask about some supplements for my new diet plan and the guy looked at me with an expression of "oh okay" and looked at me from top to bottom. I know I am a big girl with stomach issues and he made me feel uncomfortable.  I walked out only buying 1 item out of the 4 I needed. They have variety but he would of kept eye contact and yhe vibe was better,  I would of walked out with all 4 items.

Midas

I started come here for oil change about couple months ago and I like this shop a lot. They do a great job and free inspection on my car. Cody, the front desk gentleman is doing a great job!

Steve and his team are simply the best. They have worked on multiple types of my family's vehicles for over 20 years. There has NEVER been a bad experience.
Three years ago, we moved out of state, but would come to Des Moines to visit periodically throughout the year. I would wait until I was back and Steve would find the time to get me in.
You will not find a more reputable auto repair location and team than Steve's Midas group.

I went to Midas as no one had time to fix my tire. Cody was kind enough to come look at it and advise it needed replaced. While he didn't have time the shop was so nice to offer to put my spare on. I appreciate the assistance and kindness!

I regularly go here for my cars. Steve, Cody, and the crew is watched when it comes to customer service and quality. It truly feels like a family every time I walk in. I have been with Midas for 23+ years and I can say they are absolutely the best team between Steve and Dan! Dan has always been honest when it comes to work he does and he is meticulous when it comes to his craftsmanship.  He takes pride in his dedication to the customer and does so with a smile every time. I have grown to have a relationship sharing our family stories back and forth to the point I consider them part of my family.  I will continue to support these awesome guys - for as long as they are around and after!  They truly deserve the world for all they do and especially what they have done for me way back when I was a 16 year old young girl who didn’t know anything.

American Fence Company - Des Moines

American Fence is by far the best fence company in the metro area! I had them install a 4 ft black link fence and they did an amazing job! They are professional, provide excellent service, timely, great follow up and fast working! I just used them again to replace that fence from 3 years ago, that still looked like new, with a 6 ft fence for my newly adopted fence jumping dog. They removed and installed the fence quickly and once again exceeded my expectations with their timeliness and were excellent to work. After using them twice with the same outstanding service I wouldn’t use anyone else!

I'm so glad we chose this business.  They were quick to measure, quick to quote, and quick to update us on the project.  If there was an update needed on materials, they let us know.  They were respectful of our property, cleaned up after themselves, and now every time we drive home, we are happy with the new fence.  It matches our deck, keeps our dogs safe, and adds value to the home.

We just recently had our vinyl fence installed and I HIGHLY recommend American Fence Co.!!! Dan M. was great to work with and stayed patient throughout the whole process - never pushy. To be honest, they weren’t the cheapest nor were they the most expensive, but they were the most responsive and knowledgeable! Being on a corner lot which has it’s fencing restrictions, Dan went to bat for us with the city even setting up his own meeting with them at our property. Above and beyond service. We had over 350+ feet and 3 gates installed on a hillside, sloped walkout lot with a nightmare of unevenness terrain in the midst of winter storms and they executed perfectly! We’ve already received multiple comments and couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Dan M is your guy!

We are commercial property owners in the Des Moines area. We decided to give this company a shot at building some gates before we got a quote on Fencing a commercial property. Spoke with a guy who said he would get us a quote in a couple days, waited a week and called back. That guy was out but the new guy I talked to would find out what's going on and call back by the end of the day. Waited another week called back talked to a third guy same story. Now 3 weeks in and nobody ever called back or sent a quote. Poor service on the front end imagine what's its like if you gire these guys. Plenty of fence companies out there. These guys obviously don't care about customers.

We had a wonderful experience with American Fence of Des Moines for the installation of our wood privacy fence. Brandon and Manny were fantastic and so helpful throughout the entire process. Even several months after installation when we had an issue with our gate, they came out immediately and fixed the problem with no charge. We’re very happy with their service and our fence is sturdy and beautiful!

Run away! They carry the brand of pool we wanted and love the pool but, this Des Moines franchise is very unprofessional and don't stand behind what they say.

First of all everything we agree to in our pool proposal didn't matter if they didn't put it into the contract. So multiple things didn't get done or were at an extra cost. And somethings in the contract they refused to do. Contract said they would put back any fencing they removed, they didn't and I had to have it reinstalled after they wouldn't. No temporary safety fence was installed during project even though it was in contract.

Concrete was done very poorly and we were overcharged. We were told we would only be charged for what was installed once final layout is done at a price of $21 a sf which is $4 over other professionals in the area. First they needed extra money in advanced of the pour for thick edge to create a wall around 2 spots. They only pour a quarter of what was planned. Poured almost 100 sf less of the slab we were charged for. They were going to pour  slab on bare dirt in a lot of areas. We got them to hold off on pour so we could get it prepped properly and run drain pipe outside of slab which they had just buried half way across the patio to be poured. After we ran plumbing and worked on moving a lot of dirt and rock and sent pictures to the foreman the said they would fix the rest. Some things they did some they didn't. Patio pitches the wrong way so nothing we can do next to removing and having someone else do it.

Charged us for pool permit and then had us pay and pull the permit with city and didn't give us a refund.

Pool lights were to include electrical and transformer which we did not receive transformer had to use our own and had to supply conduit and run it our self for bubblers.

Kept being told someone would be by for chemical start up and balancing never happened till it was time to winterize the pool. So for the month and a half it was open we had to do all water treatment.

Company has very poor in-house communication one person says it will be taken care of, while another says it's not included even when it is in the contract.

Posting this I will probably not get any warranty work if needed on pool but can not believe anyone would do business this way. After all was done I have heard stories from other pool companies while seeking a service provider of other peoples problems. Really wish somebody would have posted them. To save us this heart ache.

Before you spend over $90K on a pool project talk with installed customers not service customers.

Prompt, professional swimming pool contractor!  Delivered on-time project and continue to provide excellent service after the install.  Have now opened a full-service branch that can take care of all of your pool needs.  Highly recommended!

Shawn and his team installed ours 3 summers ago and we enjoyed working with them to build our dream pool!

I give 2 stars because our pool works. Otherwise they’d get one star. They were very hard to get in contact with & when we didn’t we never got a definitive answer & it would always be changing. They never finished the job as our pool was being installed at end of season. Come 2023 opening our pool we found they put a lock on our system to where we had control over nothing. They preach customers for life but only seeing negative reviews. As a customer who wants their backyard to look beautiful & be proud of. Consider another company due to premier being unable to fix & complete their mistakes leaving us with the final repairs.

not very efficient in working through paperwork and responsive on email. I also would watch out for their sales event.

Walmart Supercenter

Very surprised! I expected to wait awhile for them to bring out my purchase. Not today! I maybe waited 3 min, and the only other time I used curbside pickup was almost as fast. From my experience, they have definitely been on top of it! Thank you!

I am very pleased how this store is run considering the amount of people that come and go.  It is clean and tidy. I usually shop groceries because of quality as well as low price. The produce here is awesome! Occasionally,  at busy times, some stock may be low, but there is a worker replacing in timely manner. Having self checkout keeps price low. Shopping does take time. People need to be patient and understanding of this. Employees are busy and some may not smile, but they do their job well. I do understand everyone is different. I, myself work with a few autistic people that know their job and speak very little. Thank you for all you do!

Maybe if the curbside pickup worker would pay attention to what he was doing instead of asking me if I have a boyfriend or hitting on me with his pants half way down maybe my curbside pickups would’ve gone a lot smoother. My delivery (for someone else mind you) was missing a lot of stuff and didn’t even have any bags!!! He just threw the stuff in without bags which made it a hassle for the customer I was delivery to through Spark. So thanks a lot for the one star rating. Hope whoever got the rest of the groceries enjoys them while I got a bad rating. 🙄

I placed a pickup order yesterday and when I got there, the store had apparently been evacuated due to a gas leak and I was unable to pickup my order. I was frustrated that I wasn't notified about the situation before I got to the store and annoyed that it took nearly 15 minutes for an employee to take the initiative to explain the situation to me. I was able to pick up my order today, but my experience yesterday was disappointing.

I shopped and got stuff, then I left. Lol, the truth is that they have the isles full of pallets of merchandise to stock the shelves and so you can't get around easily or hardly.  And barely any of the employees know the English language.  So don't even try to get pointed in the right direction.

Great store, has everything you need with knowledgeable staff.  Fantastic annual maintenance service for snowblowers & mowers-store will pick up & deliver.  The best window & screen replacement store in the metro with the most reasonable prices.

Helpful & friendly staff. Always willing to help. The only ACE I go to!!

They have a pretty good variety of products but can sometimes be a little more pricey. Convenient and also have key making services. Knowledgeable staff.

This is a great place to shop local! They are so helpful and have everything I need every time. Rusty knew exactly how to help me and gave great advice. I really appreciate it!

Would not recommend getting a storm door window replaced here.  Very poor workmanship.  When I sent pictures to management they denied even doing the work.

Ace Hardware of Ankeny

I live 5 minutes from two big box hardware stores, but choose to drive out of my way to go to Ace Hardware.  Every time I need help finding something, a knowledgeable person will show me exactly where the product is.  Everyone is friendly and the store is big enough to have what I need yet not so large that it’s overwhelming.  If you sign up for their rewards they will send nice coupons in the mail, and the 3% back with the Apple Card is great too!

I can’t say enough good things about this business! But the customer service is by far the best! Someone always takes the time to ASK ME what i need and provides expert advice! I explain my project and a worker will think of everything i could possibly need for it! Our latest project was painting our inserts and we got all our supplies and paint from here!

I had two things going on at once. Started my snow blower, didn't work very smooth called ace. They picked up the blower and had it running great in a few days. I also had two cracked basement windows. Went to Ankeny Ace talked to John, he cut some plexiglass for me while I waited. Recommended some caulking went home and fixed the two windows. They are not always the cheapest but they know what their doing.

Perfect. Had exactly what I need for reasonable prices. Great selection. Great staff and clean environment.

Great little hardware store. I like the fact that I can buy the nuts and bolts, etc., piecemeal instead of a whole pack like the big box stores sell. And, I'm now an ACE rewards member!

Boone Ace Hardware

I like exploring all the different things they sale here. I prefer to only shop here after 4:30pm as the kids who work after school are so helpful and nice. During the day the adults are very unwelcoming and make you feel likea nuisance for just stepping through the door.

Very helpful.  Good products, reasonably priced.  Yes, more expensive than WalMart, but much better quality.

Went to Ace for a brass fitting, hose clamps,  and seen a role of electrical tape that tickled my fancy. They had exactly what I needed. They always ask me if I need help when walking in the door.

I wish they would carry less stuff that Walmart has. Because they'll never be able to beat the price on grass seed, lawn ornaments or grills. And instead focus more on the home repair and improvement. I think a solid third of the store space is wasted on things Walmart has at better prices. With that extra space they could carry some green treated lumber or composite lumber! Or here's a crazy idea how about a plain black shingle for repairs after storms.

Only employees I seen were young kids that wouldn't have a clue if you needed help with anything no one even asked if needed help. Nothing like other ace's.

I called to ask some questions and Caresse answer the phone. She was so polite and bubbly and it sounds like she loves her job. Her customer service was excellent and answered all my questions. Great customer service is rare these days and Caresse was extremely pleasant to work with!

Great experience with desk check-in and I can see crew are working together to get my Jeep serviced.  Definately would recommend this Midas garage.

Marcus, Caresse, and the whole team at Midas East Euclid did me a solid when my car decided to give up today, Black Friday 2023. Brought it in at 2:45, they were able to get it fixed. They stayed open late for me. They did their best to get me the lowest possible price for the repairs.

Very easy to schedule an appointment online!! Staff were very friendly and professional! Made me feel like all my car needs were met and answered all of my questions that I had! Excellent service, staff, and help!
