Big O Tires

We’ve used Big O Lawrence for all of our auto needs that they’re able to service. They are prompt, helpful, explain options objectively, and I feel like they give me real answers rather than trying to upsell. All of the routine maintenance and one-off repairs we’ve needed have been done well (not needed correction and taken care of the issue) and we’ll continue using them for our vehicles going forward.

Rotated tires changed oil and fixed the brakes. I haven’t been to turnpike speed yet but will soon. This car was totaled several years ago and they have kept it going just fine.

I have always been Happy at Big O Tires in Lawrence Kansas. I just call and they get me in ASAP, or let me know if I am not in a hurry, just drop it off and it's done by the end of the day. Great folks and hard workers. I pull in to have my tires checked and they always make time for me.

I have a Subaru Crosstrek that I hope can last me a long time and I won't hesitate to go back! They also put new tires on my car , changed my windshield wipers and I am happy with those as well. There is always a follow up call ,email or text to make sure that the service I received was good and was there anything else they could do for me?

These guys were able to get me in for a bulb replacement, oil change, and tire rotation without an appointment. My wait was only a couple hours, and the waiting room was comfortable and clean. All the employees I spoke with were friendly and professional. Prices were fair. I'll definitely be back!

Asked for 4 Michelin tires that were not in stock, told them they could order and I would install in a couple days.  Then called back to see if we can do it sooner.  They got them in, and started that day at 3:00, along with the-alignment, oil change and wiper change out.  Picked it up a bit after 5:00.

Very happy experience!

Shell

The bathroom was disgusting. The line was 5 people long and the cashier was too busy having a conversation instead of doing her job. I have to buy something to use the bathroom and I stood in line longer than I did using the bathroom. I was not offered my receipt.

This place is pretty nasty.  You can tell they haven’t cleaned the fountain area in a while.  They have some sort of special going on for chili dogs where there is chili sitting in a crockpot with old looking cheese in a container next to it.  Behind the counter is a mess with clutter everywhere, including food.  The cashier was eating cashews while ringing me up.

Only a few good employees others are rude. I refuse the ever use this station again & I spend about $600 a month in the store.
My son ran in for me and got a cappuccino but it was bad so I told him to grab a different one & they said" you know I'm going to charge you again right" um no forget it, I shop in there every day & get treated like that?! This is not the 1st time I have had bad customer service but this set me over the edge. I never write a bad review but this is very upsetting. I pay .58 cents to fill up my own water cup & get gas food ECT ECT every time I'm in when most stations don't charge for water unless you use their cup lol. Must be a small town mentality.
Whatever I won't let my husband or kids in that store again!

Friendly staff that provides quick service! Always neat and tidy, including an indoor public restroom. Hot food for breakfast and lunch. Products are well stocked and marked.

I get gas,drink and worker nice it clean. I only get there when lady down the street Take me

Top of The Line Steel Buildings LLC

It’s been 8weeks and still no building. Was supposed to be installed on 12-21-20 and when I called to confirm, to my surprise they are closed until 01-04-21. No communication to let me know anything. Very unprofessional. Also, when you call, the message says if you require assistance press 1, then it hangs up! Terrible customer service.

Budget Blinds of Lawrence

Budget Blinds no longer has a store in Lawrence, KS, but their store in Johnson County is still in business.

Westlake Ace Hardware

Nice semi local hardware store. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good place to go if you need something fast and don't want to deal with the giant Home Depot or Menards.

That said it's a bit pricey. Go there often enough because they have a great selection of random small fasteners like nuts and bolts and screws.

Usually has what I need but you're going to pay more at Ace than if you go to Menards or Home Depot. That said, it's closer to home and when I just want to finish a job they have whatever it is I needed.

Ace Hardware has the widest selection of replacement parts for household plumbing and electrical in my area, much better than the mega-chain lumberyards in my area.

The people are more experienced also.

Always have the right hard to find plumbing supplies for older homes!

They took so long on hiring process. I waited over a week just for interview. They seemed very positive with me. Then I had to wait over a week later for them to tell me that they don’t hire just for summer. Store is already short staffed so what would they even have to lose by hiring me?

Also customer service is attocious and they always are short staffed.

Mediterranean Market & Cafe

Food was fantastic! Got the chicken gyro and was NOT disappointed! The pita was so soft and moist! The grocery selection is ridiculously diverse. The hummus was fresh and flavorful. I wish I lived closer to this store cause I’d eat there everyday.

First time to eat here and wow I’m shocked it’s taken me this long to try it.   Best lunch I’ve had in a while.  Gyro and spinach pie are incredibly good.

This place is DELICIOUS!!! The food was fresh and was a nice big portion. The pistachio baklava was some of the best I’ve had. I even bought some dressing to take home - that good! This is definitely our new spot! The owner was so kind and nice. Support this local business!

We loved eating here! My falafel sandwich with baba ganoush and tahini sauces inside was to die for. So satisfying. We came to eat at 11 AM on a Friday and there was only one other customer, so the wait time wasn't long. The man behind the counter was very friendly and patient as we decided what to order. You can also buy a wide variety of grocery items from the Mediterranean area, as well as fresh baklava, hummus, and bulk olives!

The whole experience was a bust. The food was over cooked and the smallest portions you can imagine. When I asked for my money back, they refused. They let me walk out the door, knowing they have my money and that I didn’t touch anything I ordered. I have never been treated so disrespectfully at an dining establishment. I would never recommend an experience like this. DO NOT EAT HERE. I will be telling all my friends, and then some.

Wild Birds Unlimited

If you like birds, or just want to have birdsong in the morning, these guys have everything you're going to want.  I picked up some seed that will appeal to my favorite wild birds, blackbirds, and a fantastic wine stopper that sings birdsong when you pour your beverage.  I joined the discount club, because the kids and I will be back.

Great service and selection. Staff was knowledgeable about the products and local birds.

Midas

We have been customers of Midas for more than six years and have always received excellent service for our vehicles - currently a Volvo C70 and BMW SUV. The manager Ann and lead mechanic Bill have our trust and loyalty for years to come. You will always receive an honest recommendation for repairs needed and a fair price for their excellent service. I cannot rate this particular Midas location high enough or say enough good things about their customer care. Repairs are never fun, but somehow I always leave there with a smile.

My appointment was at ! PM for an oil change I was out by 1:35. Very kind to answer all my questions. I did get down to Kasold and 15th. Turned my car off and when I got back in it made a light clicking sound all the way home even when I put it in park. I'm just hoping it's nothing serious as I also had to get new tires today. I seriously doubt this had anything to do with the oil change and the guys were great. I plan on going back to Midas in the spring to get my brake fluid drained. If my car still runs by then.

An excellent place for car service and inspection. Friendly staff and reasonable charges.

Ann was incredibly kind and flexible when I needed an oil change and windshield wipers replaced right before they closed. She never made me feel like an imposition, she didn't try to upsell me, but did alert me to things I should consider getting repaired before winter. I was blown away by her service and will be back in a heartbeat the next time I need car help.

They are always so good to be. From my break replacement in my Jeep Grand Cherokee to letting me know there was nothing wrong with my Hondra CR-V and there was no charge for today. I

trust the people in the shop and the front desk team is incredibly kind and helpful. This is the only place I will take all of my vehicles. Thank you for being a place I trust and a place I’m safe.

Walmart Supercenter

This place is a disaster and we avoid it all we can. 90 percent of the time they have people panhandling for money on their lot, their store is filthy and cluttered with inventory items, and multiple times the price tag is not correct. Yesterday, we went there because of a special Christmas event and did a little browsing. We saw a Christmas tree on display that my wife liked. The price tag stated it was on sale but nowhere did it say display model only. I carried the tree across the store to find out it was full price: I eventually spoke to a manager who was rude and disrespectful. It was my final straw with that store.

Watched the Deli staff purposely stock items in the wrong place because they were out of stock of that item. Asked her about it and she said she didn't care.

She intentionally filled the space labeled turkey sandwiches with another sandwich simply because they were out of turkey sandwiches.

I don't think that's professional or right. What do you think?

the WORST shopping experience ever!!! Some small man ran me over with a blue cart!! When I said ow that hurt man he hate crimed me!! I used to work at walmart for 10 years!! This is Gail Lewis!! I am a veteran of this corporation and demand not to be treated this way by short men!! Then I turn around and every employee looks more unhappy than me and I had just been ran over!! I will just go to dillons

Dropping off my daughter at #KU to start college, had a few things to grab for her, found what I needed at reasonable prices.  Good Customer Service from my cashier as well.

I was informed that I could not receive cash back for my return that I paid for with a debit card w/pin. Even though it clearly states that you can in the Walmart Returns policies. I was informed that the management has chosen to change that policy. How is that possible? No one could show me a policy that stated that the management could just change any walmart policy at anytime. I'm in town on a business trip and the customer service employees were very rude and very uninformed on Walmart's actual policies. I never spoke with a Manger.  Some kid named Jade informed me that their management changed that policy and would no longer assist me.
Their employees need to be trained better and more informed on Walmarts policies.  Hopefully I will never have to visit this store again.

Very nice atmosphere inside it was clean and Zen.
The level of help offered for someone walking in knowing nothing about Birkenstocks was amazing.
They were very patient as I had a lot of questions and was unsure.
They took their time and I left with my first pair.
I would definitely recommend coming inside and figuring out the correct option rather than guessing online.
This is one of those things that it is better to see and feel in person.

the people here are super nice and helpful. i very highly recommend. in addition to birkenstocks, they carry a line of handmade leather bags - backpacks, satchels, totes - that looked really cool. overall, definitely worth the drive from kc or topeka, etc.

Great customer service and excellent communication. I been looking for a pair of gray London Birkenstocks for a long time. This was the only store that had them in stock , and they were on sale.  This store is awesome.

They couldn't fix my first pair of sandals even though they said they would have my info on file. Went over with my ole sandals and was told they couldnt repair. Bought my second sandals here but couldn't get anyone in the store to assist me the first time, she was too busy helping the white folks. I went there to try and buy them. Went another day and finally got help...worker lied about how they NEVER have their Birkenstock sandals on sale so bought the second overpriced pair. Less then a month later they had a sale on them. Never helpful and bad record keeping lost me my ability to get the 💯 guarantee on my first pair repair. Now my second pair suck and never stop smelling regardless of how many times I've cleaned them. Don't waste your time and money!!

Footprints has been my go-to Birkenstock store for more than thirty years. My first, and only, visit to this mecca in Lawrence came after driving 600 miles through a blizzard. The drive was a nail biter and the visit glorious. While I have yet to return to the store, I have purchased more Birks via mail from them. They do great mail order/Internet service. Once you know your size, you can live a thousand miles away and shop like a local.

More importantly, the Footprints team offers Birkenstock repairs. Mick is a craftsman; he's kept a couple of pairs of Birkenstock shoes of mine serviceable for decades. Just recently two pairs came back from the shop and are ready for more wear. Not like new, but serviceable and ready to comfort my feet as I go about my day.

The shoes in the pictures attached to this review are more than 20 years old. They have just returned from Footprints from another repair session. New life has been breathed into these shoes. You may think you're paying too much for Birks, but with a little love from Mick's hands, they may be the last shoes you need to buy.
