Great selection on items but compared to larger stores. The pricing is a little higher but worth it if it’s the only option close also, it’s important to know that the ace and Knox does not accept returns from the ace in North Judson. They’re owned by different private individuals, so that’s somewhat inconvenient as well, but very clean store they give popcorn away, which is always nice and the workers seem very nice professional, and overall pleasant experience.

Always helpful employees. I had a sink install to do but the drain line was not correct. Thought I had what I needed but just to be sure asked someone. Found out they saved me from another trip. I did not have the right stuff. It is nice to have employees that actually know plumbing needs.

Kabelin Ace Hardware - Walkerton

My wife came here and needed a specific wrench to remove a cover panel and access a dropped item in her car.  The employees were very helpful finding the right tool and even helped her in the parking lot. Thank you!

Absolutely the worst business to deal with nobody knows what's going on at the store. Customer service is truly dead in Walkerton

I’ve been waiting for them to order me a key for my Nissan - it’s been three weeks- well I guess my order wasn’t important enough. Never mind I had to get it somewhere else.

They are on a moral high horse about wearing a mask, and there is a giant sign at the front telling you you have to wear one. Owners can do better. I’d love to have a discussion with them about mask effectiveness.

EDIT: They took the sign down and are much more laid-back about everything. I appreciate it and have changed this review to a five star review

Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware

This is a nice, although relatively small hardware store. It's easy to find what you need, and the staff are fairly helpful.

Every time I enter this Ace Hardware someone greets me with a question about how they might assist me.  I find this to be so helpful and it makes the environment very welcoming. Great store!!!

Always friendly and extremely helpful. Store is always well stocked and clean. Overall one of the best hardware stores that I have been in.

If you need fasteners this place hands down has the best selection in Marshall County...

Kabelin Ace Hardware - South Bend North

Purchased a chainsaw from their former location on Ireland Road three years ago. I only used it that one season for about 2 weeks. I brought it out of storage today and had a problem getting it started. I brought it in to the  Roseland location and Mark came to the rescue!

He was more than just helpful, he was informative. He took the time to educate me on how to start it in the future. He even pointed out that I had installed the chain backwards after I had removed it to clean the bar before I put it into storage. He happily grabbed some tools and reinstalled it correctly! Wow! What service! I am very happy with my experience with this company! Thanks again, Mark!

I have made trips to this location for several home repairs and projects with great experiences and customer service..until today. I made a quick trip with my daughter for some masonry anchors knowing I’d need to ask some questions in order to get the correct items. The man “helping me” was anything but helpful. I asked several questions to seek the items I was looking for and asked if there were alternative options in the store that would work. He explained how anchors work (because apparently, women don’t know that) and because I didn’t bring any hardware with me, he was unable to find me what I needed. I asked if there was a better option in the store where I could buy new anchors hooks, screws and apparently that wasn’t an option? When I was standing directly by an array of eyelet hooks and

I really hope this man isn’t the manager because he is laying down a legacy of disrespect that is simply asinine.

I love a true hardware store.  This is been my hardware store for 20+ years.  While it is no longer Hills the new company still provides the hardware I need. However the staff is less than helpful.  Always playing video games on their phone or on the company computers.

I called to see if they could do a project for me and ended up recommending another business due to the specifics of my own. I really respect that. I will shop here again

The workers were really helpful. They had just what I needed: a small bag of cement. It was a torn bag but it's probably the right size for what I needed. It was placed inside another plastic bag so it wouldnt leak out over the car. They gave me a 15 percent discount because of the condition of the bag.

I called in and before I could even try to get answer for my question on a door lock. The rude lady that answered the phone Hung up on me. I didn't even get to finish asking my question. ABSOLUTELY the WORST COMPANY I have EVER dealt with before. If ZERO STAR was an option I would rate it a negative star. Seriously the lady had the worst customer service skills I've ever encountered.

John Ward Ace Hardware

This is the modern day time of the old time hardware store.  It has just about everything you need for the season you are in and more.  It is the more that I want to share with you.  Mustard for grilling and yes they have that will make it taste like a Chilli Dog.  Dot's pretzels the best I have had. And best for last, Swamp Pop.  Oh, they have hardware too.

Great place to shop. Always willing to help. Every ace that I go to they are always helpful especially the one in Alexandria highly recommend you shop there.

Great service, as soon as I came in someone greeted me and asked how they could help. They took me straight to the items I needed. Plus they are very veteran friendly. Great store to shop.

Fantastic service and selection. This, hands down, the best Ace I have ever been to. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a  huge inventory. Even though they didn't have the very specific bolt I was looking for, I will be coming here again.

If you want to be sold used parts as " new ", then by all means. Poor management skills with a bully mentality. They need to stick to hardware and leave the automatics to people that know what they are doing.

Very helpful staff. Only place I order commercial door products from. One stop shop for commercial door products.

Batteries Plus

I've been to this location several times, for various batteries. The customer service has always been great here, but today, Sarah's knowledge and eagerness to help, was exceptional. I'd definitely highly recommend going here for you battery and bulb needs.

I brought in my Fossil watch to have the battery replaced. The tech, who seemed to be new, shattered the crystal in my watch, scratching the band in the process. I understand that accidents happen, so I didn't get upset. The manager on duty was apologetic and told me he would personally take it to a nearby jewelry store to have the crystal replaced, that the battery change would be free of charge, and the store would call me when it was ready. Over a week went by without notice that it was ready, so I called the store to check. They had lost my phone number, but told me it was ready.

When I picked up my watch, the replacement crystal was nowhere near the quality of the original crystal. It had a scratch on the inside, and it is flat whereas the original was curved. Those things wouldn't normally bother me, but the crystal is so thick that it sticks out from the face of the watch and makes it look cheap.

I decided to roll with all of that, though, and just chalked it up to a lesson learned. It has been two months since, and now the battery in my watch is dead again. The staff were all very polite, which is why I'm giving the store two stars, but I'm not thrilled that they tried to make their mistake right with the cheapest repair possible.

Second time around. Asked for a replacement for ETX14L.
Got an Extreme T14L.
Got home, opened the box and low and behold... no HARDWARE!!!

REFUNDED after wasting $20 in gas to drive back and forth, plus lost sleep time since I have to go to work at 9 tonight.

Everybody else wants $140 for a lesser battery, particularly 2 auto parts retailers. Not AUTOZONE, Oddly enough...

Employees are great!  I have always had a great experience. I just took my phone in for a screen repair. Tasha was so great to work with! So kind and helpful!

I have a lifetime warranty on my key fob battery. I was in the store for less than five minutes and the lady had my battery replaced and I was out the door.

Inventory is not accurate on website, so when I drove from out of town to purchase a specific product, it was not there. I was basically brushed off and told sorry with no care or concern or even a suggestion to help me find what I was looking at another location...funny how customer service "these days" seems to struggle no matter the age of the employee...

Always helpful staff. Rather knowledgeable. Wide selection of tools and equipment. The new building is much more open and carries far more inventory than the last. Dave is especially helpful and knowledgeable.

Needed keys made store closes at 6 i get there around 5:30 and already closed . I will just go to home depot from now on so i wont waste my time

Horrible service. Sold me the wrong item and then refused to allow the return because I foolishly opened the package to use it.
I just spoke with someone from the store and it would seem that an  employee lacking knowledge was the issue.

Went in here to get some long colored screws. The guy instantly came over to help me find what I needed. Took less than 2 minutes and I was in and out the store. Good local store, I’ll be back.

I received absolutely great service at this store.  A battery was ordered for my phone and the technician installed it in about one hour.  I was given the exact price before the repair was even started.  I would not hesitate to go back for any future repairs.
