Conestoga Mall

I've been shopping here for as long as I can remember.  We'll never step foot in the new Conestoga Marketplace, it's a shame how they've treated the decades old mom and pop businesses.

The current condition of the Conestoga Mall is an eyesore. What happened?!

Back in the day, you could become distracted shopping for power tools and lawnmowers with dad at Sears, realize what time it is, run like hell, make it just in time for your 5:00 movie, and then sit down with the family for a nice dinner from the food court at the end of the day.

I remember when I was young and the excitement I would get from seeing Santa Claus sitting on his throne in the center of the mall. I also remember browsing the wonderful world of Radio Shack with pretzel in hand from the PretzelMaker. Man those were the days.

To those who recently took ownership of the mall, please don't let the memories be forgotten. Save our mall! Can't wait for that Target store to come in!

Went and saw the new Top Gun movie.  They need more employees there.  Not very organized.  Some of the seats had no arm rest cushions.  And the floor in the isles were sticky in some areas and slick from butter in others.  The movie was good though.

This mall was great, but it is being taken down and Bing replaced with
Other which Is a huge bummer.

This mall feels like it is dying, the Hilltop mall in  Kearney is way more worth a trip. Not a ton of stores open, lots of empty sites.

Best Buy

I bought a laptop on sale for $499. A kid bit the screen and broke it. (I didn't buy the extra insurance) but they wanted the full price of the laptop $765.00 to fix the screen.
The kid that helped me gave me great service and was very knowledgeable when I bought the laptop. I will never make a big purchase from them again.  And they charged me $35 to tell me they wanted more than I paid for the laptop to fix it.
I was told it could be$300  and I was ok with that but...
Are you kidding me!!

Absolutely disappointing headphones are not even the same model that’s on the box none of the features listed on the box or even available with this model of headphones. I live 90 miles from the nearest Best Buy drove out there thinking I would get something decent. Probably not shopping at Best Buy any more. One other thing I have been charging for hours and they say low battery no charging cord with it not worth my time or aggravation to re-drive 90 miles to return them. My only hope is that someone at Best Buy sees this and offers me a complete refund without having to drive there.

Dec 1st 2023, store is tucked away on the backside of the mall, which seems like it is under some fairly heavy construction, that said, the store itself is really nice, bright, tons of merchandise, I could spend so much money in there it's dangerous. From the inside you would never guess that it shared any of the other parts of the mall under reconstruction. Staff was insightful, polite, and honestly just fun to make small talk with. 5/5 do recommend.

Been here a few times and always get great service. Employees are eager to assist! In there last week & Javier was great. He was not able to help me but he gave it his all.

We ordered a dryer, opted for curbside. They said no more than 10 minutes to bring it out. Waited 20 before we decided to go in and check. 3 employees standing right by front desk having a casual conversation.  Continued to ignore us, and continued talking, finally one walks away and a guy greets us.
He said " oh ya, we got the order, we're just super swamped in here".  Store was basically empty.
Oh and the best part...
While we're waiting,  one of their guys in a GeekSquad van rolls up beside us, has some kind of freak out in the van on his phone, sits there, smokes a cigarette in the van.  Just seems pretty poorly managed to me.

State Glass

Very professional and awesome customer service! Dropped off an item for repair and was done in less than a week. Went to pick up and was carrying my baby in his car seat and has not only 1 but 2 of the employees offer to carry my small item out to my car for me! Thanks for the fast friendly and thoughtful customer service!

The to go place for anyone needing custom cut flat glass for auto restoration. Same glass as others at one third the cost

Great experience as it always has been when I've gone there!  Prices are the best I have found and always surprise me with how quick they get things done.  Highly recommend!

They are very professional and timely.  We've been using their services for many years.  They have replaced glass in lot of different equipment for us at work and my own personal vehicles as well.  I highly suggest them for your glass replacement needs.  Two thumbs up!

Big O Tires

Justin and the team did a fantastic job with my travel trailer. I called up early in the morning, and they were able to fit me in. When I arrived, they jumped right on it it did a fantastic job replacing all the tires and getting everything put back together. As promised, they did it as soon as I arrived, since I had an 11-hour trip ahead of me. Thanks again for the quick and excellent service!

I can’t speak highly enough of Justin and his team. Justin knows what he is talking about when it comes to taking your truck to the next level. He was very informational about tire sizes and offset.  The team at Big O gets it done quickly and makes sure it is done right the first time, that is why I chose them. If you want great prices and great service you know where to go. Big O.

I have purchased tires here before, but based on my most recent experience I will not be back to the store again. I needed an alignment for a car and after I told him why it needed an alignment, they decided they were going to charge me extra for it because I had replaced the control arms on my car. Then they decided they would not align my car because the tires were too worn. Considering the alignment is done off of the wheels and the tires has no impact on the alignment this is completely ridiculous then the fact they wanted to charge me more because I put my own parts on a car is also ridiculous. I had the alignment done at another shop without any extra charges and with worn tires without a problem. I got tires at a different shop as well.

Stopped out due to noise in daughters car.  Very courteous & informative!!  Justin had car checked & good thing!!  Previous mechanics work was shoddy, and potential issues previous mechanic should have told us about could have caused an accident!!!  One of the guys dropped us off at home and took car to be fixed--very awesome bunch of guys!!!
We will be moving ALL vehicles to Big O Tires for all services!!!  Props to Justin & all the crew!!

I can't thank you guys enough. LEO you help us out and hooked us up. I don't know if you knew it but I had just had surgery and was on our way home still 200 miles away. You had us in and out (30mins) before I could even get comfortable. I can't Thank you enough for helping us with our tires. Thank you for being admitting that the original tire was mismaked and you where up front and honest and help my hubby find the right tires to get us home. We will Definitely be back 100%. Thank again guys.

Jims Gyros

4.7 is high on the Google reviews..  They did not offer Tzatziki upon ordering gyro.  They should if they got it.  They use shredded cheddar not Feta. No onions or tomato is used on gyro.  It wasn’t bad but not what we expected; it’s not a gyro.  It’s more like Taco Bell with gyro meat.  We’re traveling through.

The person who took my order was very nice, but felt like they were new. When they asked for help from a coworker the coworker didn't seem very friendly.
Restaurant was loud and wouldn't be pleasant for dine in.
The Gyro I ordered was really bland compared to other Gyros I've had. The fries that came with it were equally poor and indicative of a fryer using old oil.

SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! :( Moved back to GI and Jim's was at the top of our list to hit up, it was our anniversary, so we were excited as usual to go. We went on a Monday evening at 7:30.

They must have switched owners again because I've never seen such poor everything there and I've eaten here for YEARS. First, price. Sticker shock. Yikes. Their usual "combo special" is now $11/$12 and $9 for just the gyro. I don't mind paying top dollar if it's a great sandwhich but that is far from what we recieved. $20 for two chicken gyros. The pictures speak for themselves. There was 8 bite sizes pieces of chicken and near non existant toppings. Also, a menu pic for reference.

Second. Dirty tables and only two other folks eating in there. No more "Frank's Red Hot" on the tables. Only extra large Heinz bottles with nearly anything even left in them and a large portable AC running in between two tables by the wall and a clearly disorganized dry storage area near the restrooms.

Save your money, your appetite, and make the trip to Nick's gyros in Hastings next time. You WON'T be disappointed! Sadly, this was the straw that broke the camels back for Jims for us. If the original owner who takes pride in his food and business returns, absolutely we will be back.

Friendly, helpful personnel made my meal extra enjoyable. I ordered a greek salad, and it was worth the $9. The portion was large and the food was fresh. The dining room and restrooms were super clean.

Great place for a reasonable and filling lunch! I usually get the traditional gyro combo with fries and a drink for just over $11. The only thing that would elevate the gyro would be tzatziki sauce instead of sour cream.

A-Plus Chem-Dry of Central Kansas

They did a great job and were quick and efficient cleaning a large area in our parish hall and parish offices!

They were quick to respond to our request for an estimate and to set an appointment for the cleaning.  They removed the coffee stain and the dirt from our high traffic areas.  It has now been a couple of weeks and there is still no sign of the coffe stain coming back.  They were very professional and friendly.  They were eager to please.  We really liked dealing with a local family owned business.  They had excellent work ethics.  We highly recommend them.  In this society you get what you pay for and this was money well spent to help save our carpet.

We were in quite a bind trying to move into our new home and found heavily soiled carpets. ChemDry came highly recommended from our realtor and exceeded our expectations. The staff make sure the pet stains were completely and thoroughly cleaned.  Very friendly and trustworthy and did a tremendous job!

We have had A-Plus clean our carpets for many years.  The Team is very efficient and always on time.  They spot clean the heavy traffic areas with amazing results.  The carpet dries in about an hour and looks like new every time.  Thank You A-Plus Chem-Dry.

Love A-Plus Chem-Dry!  So professional and great to work with.  They got out stains that have been dried in and made our carpet like new.  I wouldn't use anyone else!

Rolling Hills Zoo

Great little zoo that you can do a walk through or enjoy the Tram ride for a few dollars more. They have an indoor walk through exhibit that shows animals from around the world, never knew Polar Bears were that big.

This is a nice little zoo. The walkways are easy to navigate (but there are lots of of geese so watch out for the goose poop). When we visited, there were only a handful of other cars so we had the zoo more or less to ourselves for the visit. The enclosures all look clean and the animals appear to be in good health. This zoo doesn't have the largest variety of animals but we had a good time seeing what they do have. There is some construction and renovation going on and I look forward to seeing what it's like when it's done, especially the reptiles since that was closed when we came.

What really impressed us was the museum. The dioramas are amazing! So many animals in dynamic poses. They even had a piebald fawn! I would come any day just for the museum!

This place was cool. You could get pretty close to the animals. The museum is fully crazy if you're fully tripping. Don't enter until you come down a little.

They have sensory bags for free!! So thankful bc we forgot my daughters earmuffs. Took the tram and it was fantastic on a hot day. Loved the museum using the boards to find everything. Lots to look at. Really enjoyed the kids play area and I was really fond of the salt water tank. Next time we will walk.

You know they have animals.... but the zoo also does a Fathers Day car chow every year!! The red car i posted here is owned by the Walker family who started the zoo! I added a couple more of my favorites for your pleasure! This is a great zoo and museum, thanks for putting on the car show!

Love's Travel Stop

This Loves does not live up to my expectations when compared to other Loves.

No fenced in dog area. The dog area does have poop bags but it is muddy and full of poop. Lots of poop.

Trash cans were full.

Bathroom was dirty and small.

It does have an attached Dairy Queen.

I would pass and wait for a different travel stop.

So this is the only Loves that I have ever stopped at that I have been told driving a sprinter van that I can not park over night. Been doing this for 3 years. First time for everything so if you drive a sprinter van steer clear of this location they will make you leave.

My husband and I truck and this may be a small loves but it's our favorite. Everytime we come here the store is clean and quiet. The women's bathroom is always exceptionally clean which I appreciate. There's additional parking across the street since the parking lot is so small.

Very nice Love's. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Has 3 different restaurants and nice amount of seating. Laundry is also available with nice amount of machines and space. Shower was very clean as well as the restrooms. Easy on and off to 70. Small amount of parking and fuel bay is tight.

Not that great of a Loves. It’s near midnight and the staff are unpleasant and the store is hohum feeling. Like it certainly was another station, small. Wieners were shriveled too. One to avoid on my next trip.

Shell

Nasty nasty nasty, severe lack of cleanliness at this store. Public bathrooms were disgusting and despite being well staffed during the day no one keeping them clean. Store is very disorganized and cluttered. Laundry room is down. Semi parking lot has humongous deep potholes and needs to be repaved. Popeyes is ran by a bunch of kids but they were nice. Shower bathrooms were no better and had prominent dookie splatter. This is why I detest Petro: lack of attention and disregard for its patrons.

It was great except for it wouldn't give me My receipt at the pump other than that it was all good

I really enjoy Poppies Chicken but, This place exhibited such incomitance even before I ordered that I decided to just leave hungry without placing an order. I was the only customer in the restaurant. The person behind the counter did not seem surprised when I told him I was going to go somewhere else.

Clean environment, very rude staff.. The woman attendant casually ignored me as I politely asked to pay for gas on my pump, only to ask her several more times. When she did acknowledge me, she was short and snippy talking with me ( the only customer)
I have no idea what type of attitude the day staff may have - weary evening traveler's beware, it may be best to visit the gas station across the street.

A great stop for restrooms, drinks, snacks. Has laundry and showers for OTR truck drivers.
