We booked our August 2023 excursion with them for whale watching.We had our 5yr old Son with Autism, they where wonderful with him & so accommodating. He had a blast! Captain Paul was extremely knowledgeable awesome captain! Very entertaining & the experience was amazing. We seen orcas (killer whales) plus seen the humpback whales (8to10 together) eagles, blue heron. It was a very adventurous day. We loved all the sightseeing we loved all the information that we got about Alaska, the different tribes, the whales and we learn things that we didn't even know about whales!  It was a great experience definitely 100% would recommend. 10 out of 10!!! We will see you again in September 2024! Thank you 😊

I’m so glad we went with Hoonah! We had the best time with Captain Paul! We saw Orcas, humpbacks, otters, and much more. He was an amazing captain and had so many good stories to share about the land, animals, and way of life in that part of Alaska. I’ve already recommended this excursion to so many friends.

We had such a good experience with this tour company.  Captain Paul was an excellent guide for the journey.  He was so knowledgeable and personable.   I knew within the first 15 minutes of the tour that we had gotten our money's worth on this whale watching trip and we hadn't even seen any whales at that point!  It was really nice being on a smaller boat with less people.  The boat was filled to capacity (about 30 people) and we were able to find great spaces to take pictures.  Whenever there was an animal encounter, Captain Paul stopped the boat and we were allowed on the front and rear decks so we could take pictures.  We saw a bear, multiple humpback whales, sea otters, and sea lions.  The transportation from Icy Strait Point to Hoonah and back was on a comfortable shuttle bus.  If you find yourself in Icy Strait Point, do yourself a favor and skip the cruise ship tours and book with Hoonah Travel Adventures.  You won't regret it.

We took this excursion from Icy Point as it was only whale watching open since we booked late. Excellent choice. Had an amazing adventure seeing whales up close. Had no idea as they came up unexpectedly right by us. Saw seals and otters. The captain and co captain were excellent. Nice vessel as well. Thank you for an awesome excursion!

We did the whale watch tour through Hoonah Travel Adventures.  Denise was our skipper and Christi was the cabin attendant.  The boat was small and could hold 18 passengers which made for a more intimate feel.  The interior of the boat was heated, and blankets were available.

Within a few minutes of leaving the harbor we were in the thick of a humpback whale feeding frenzy. I can say with confidence that I've never been on a whale watch that has gotten me so close to a whale.  I felt like the tour could have maybe been 1 hour longer considering the cost.

Thank you to Chelsie for making our stay in San Andres even more fun with a variety of tours. She kept in contact constantly and was informative. We took several tours; parasailing, white boat party, VIP Island tours and a day trip to Providence and Santa Catalina Island. We recommend this agency and even though you may read some negative reviews, do not hesitate to contact Chelsie! 😉

My experience here was really good, we got great service and hospitality. But the main thing is they did not try to rip you off with the prices which is very common on the island so I appreciate that and gave a tip. No complaints and I would recommend it if you want to book a tour.

Milton was an amazing professional. And very honest! I felt very safe doing business here instead of with the random people at the pier. There was rain at the last day, one of our boat trips was cancelled  and he gave our money back without questioning.

Not foreigner friendly at all. I went in to book a tour to Johnny Cay. I was looked at in shock when I entered, like "omg, a foreigner". I told them in Spanish that I'm looking for a tour to Johnny Cay. Mind you I said "Johnny Isla" but still, anybody would pick up on Johnny, or so you would assume. Anyway, while one woman just stared at me, the other asked if I wanted a "vuelta" which in my vocabulary means return (as in ida y vuelta), because of course I wanna come back the same day. To make things more confusing this was also written under "Johnny Cay" on their tour board and the price matched others I've seen.
Anyway, I Iearned the hard way that there is something like an island tour on San Andrés that's called "vuelta a la isla", attending the tour the time and day mentioned I then found out that this was going to be just that, a drive in a bus to places I visited myself the day before.
While this may be absolutely clear to native speakers, it isn't to everybody. I don't expect anybody to speak English here, hence why I speak enough Spanish to get around and understand spoken Spanish without an issue, plus if I say "Johnny" this should be an indicator no matter what else I say. I think this also happened because the one woman was just staring at me (she may have been new as she had to ask the other for the change etc) and the other was still finishing with some other customers at the same time.

I left the tour and went to the beach instead. Very misleading and absolutely not foreigner friendly, booked this tour elsewhere now.

Unfortunate. They lie! We went personally to the agency where we were looking for smaller tours (fewer people on the boat) and the agent told us that it was around 10/15 people. We paid, went to the meeting point at the suggested time and then the mess started.
Our tour said “Jhony Key VIP”, but VIP had absolutely nothing! The boat that used to be for a MAXIMUM of 20 people, turned into a boat with almost 60… disorganized, without stairs, with elderly people and children getting on anyway… to make matters worse, the man who called himself a “guide” started the trip saying that he would take us follow until the end, before reaching the first stop (until then it would be Jhony Key, but they ended up going to the Acuario), he “offered” to go to the barrier reef for an EXTRA cost of $15,000 per person… claiming that they were the “only ones who could take us there”, since no one had asked for it, nor was it part of the tour. Clearly a blow they must be used to applying. With the refusal of most of the passengers, they left us at the Acuario where the guide NEVER showed up AGAIN. I reported to the agency who told me to “return immediately” when I was already on the high seas. Now that I've seen the note from the agency, I understand everything. Bad service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Alaska Helicopter Tours

Honestly one of the most spectacular Alaskan tours I’ve experienced. The greeting and check-in at the office was simple and easy. The gift shop was well stocked with unique and and fun item from the local area. About 10 minutes after check-in the staff preformed a very in-depth safety briefing specifically for the aircraft we were flying in today, after the meeting we were introduced to our pilot Will. Will greeted everyone with a smile and chatted with all of us as we walked down to the aircraft. He assisted all of us one at a time and made sure we were all comfortable and safely seat belted in. We all put our headsets on and Will made sure we could all properly communicate and we were off. Once airborne Will immediately started telling us about the geological history of the Knik glacier, however he suddenly had to change the subject to point out a black bear on the mountain with also with 4 mountain goats just uphill above the black bear. Will circled on both sides of the wildlife to allow all the passengers enjoy an equal view of the wildlife. After that we flew up to 3 separate landing areas which were all vastly different where we enjoined spectacular views, drinking glacial water, and short hikes along the ice. I would highly recommend the two hour tour as it offers some of the best scenery Alaska has to offer. Special thanks to the AHT team for providing us with outstanding service, safety, and a memorable trip of a lifetime⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

UNREAL. This experience I will remember for the rest of my life. The helicopter flight to the glacier was amazing and the pilot pointed out wildlife and other scenic things.

When we arrived at the glacier we were met with two amazing guides. They were funny, caring, and went above and beyond. They suited us up and gave my friend and I the adventure of a life time. Words truly can’t describe how amazing it was. They took a ton of pictures for us too.

The flight back was also amazing and we got to see different things.

This company rocks and I will be back!

We had a blast with our pilot Cody exploring glaciers with Alaskan Helicopter Tours.  Top notch outfit , safe, new equipment , and breathtaking views . We also spotted moose on the way back from the glacier.
The time it took to get to their site from anchorage was 50 min each way, but their driver Theron made the drive seem much shorter sharing stories about the the area.
Overall , one of the highlights of our trip.
We will book again and highly recommend.

Highly recommend this trip! We took the glacier dog sledding adventure and it was incredible! The helicopter ride out to the glacier was stunning and we saw 2 black bears on the way. Dog sledding high up on a glacier was a once in a lifetime experience! We got to visit with the pups before taking a different route back to the lodge with even more stunning views and saw some goats along the way. Our pilot Bailey and our musher Emily were both super friendly and knowledgeable. Overall wonderful experience!

Had a wonderful experience on our flight. The weather didn’t cooperate, but the team was great with presenting options and didn’t try to pressure us into a decision. We ended up with the Grand Knik tour and man was it awesome. Our Pilot Shad was super cool and did all he could to make the flight smooth and enjoyable. He also made sure to point out the wildlife, and points of interest. Would give him a solid 10/10!

Miller's Landing

Myself and my spouse, Bryan stayed at a vacation rental offered by the Miller's in November over the Thanksgiving holiday in Seward Alaska and honestly, I cannot say enough about how gracious the Miller's were, how beautiful the home itself was that we stayed in, how beautiful and breathtaking the views were no matter the time of day, the environment as a whole was just phenomenal and I just have to say that I cannot wait to go back, we both can't wait.
Thank you to the Miller's for sharing their slice of heaven on earth with us! It was much appreciated.

Fantastic weekend at Miller's Landing! I stayed at the Ocean Front Inn suite. It's perfect for a couple of friends or a small family that doesn't need a lot of room. The view is spectacular and there is a BBQ with a covered deck. Millers Landing helped me book a last minute shore fishing trip with Mason. He was excellent. I'll be back!

We stayed on the campground and I will be gracious and not give a review.  This review is for my fishing charter with Capt Dustin and Quin. I had a great full day fishing with these two.  All six of us on the boat limited out on all our targeted species plus lots of extra fish. These two know how and where to fish.  I was at the resort the next 2 days and watched the boats come in each night.  Dustin and Quin out-fished all the other Captains every night.  I would request Dustin and Quin exclusively when coming to Millers Landing.

I have been taking trips down to Seward and staying at Millers Landing for 5 years now. I have tent camped, RV camped, and booked multiple cabins and beach front properties. I have taken a couple of their guided kayaking adventures, and my husband has gone with friends on their charters the past two years. This year we booked their Bridal Venue (technically we booked it last year) for our wedding ceremony. The whole experience was a dream...the rain not joining us until after the ceremony helped. We did have one minor issue, but once I addressed it, not only did the event coordinator handle it, but I was also contacted by both owners who personally ensured the matter was understood and taken care of. We love the location, the attentiveness of the captains and charter crew, the event coordination, and now have a new respect for the owners of this amazing get-away spot in Alaska. They are kind, gracious, and attentive. We will ALWAYS use Millers Landing for our Seward adventures!

Amazing paddle trip! So much to see and the seals showed up to entertain us. Mitch and Aleura were fantastic guides who provided top notch service and knowledge of the glaciers. Always felt safe and they were really friendly. Would really recommend if u are up for a long kayak ride with nature!!

Denali ATV Adventures

This was one of the best activities that we did in Denali.  We had a group of 16 of various ages who participated.  The team leading this event was awesome.  I wish we could have included this activity everyday of our trip.

If you are looking for great views, lots of smiles and some great family fun, check this group out.  I personally guarantee that you will have a great time.

Awesome experience. Danny and Danny were amazing guides and made the trip even more fun than it already was. The weather was great and we got to drive up hills through mud and rivers and got to learn things at our stops. They are also one of the cheapest ATV tour groups in Denali but the experience was still absolutely great. It definitely was my favorite thing I did while in Denali.

We had the most amazing time on our tour! Stephan and Kammie were fun and knowledgeable guides giving us lessons about the history and geography of the area. My son was thrilled at the chance to ride his first ATV, and got lots of great encouragement from Stephan along the way. We would definitely do this tour again and highly recommend it to anyone else looking for some Alaskan adventure in the great outdoors!

My husband and I had the best time on this tour!  Neither of us had driven an ATV before this tour.  We chose to do the 3.5 hour tour on the 2-person ATV and were able to switch back and forth at various stops along the way.  We enjoyed this as we could both drive for a bit and then relax while the other person took over.  Our guides Stephan and Devon were great.  They were informative and were happy to take pictures at the stops.  They also gave us very specific instructions on how to (and how not to) safely operate the ATVs.  No one on our tour had any issue sticking to these rules.  In reference to some other reviews that said the tour was slow, we hit 30 mph multiple times and thought it was a blast.  Highly recommend.

Fun fun and more fun! The guys are phenomenal and this was a great way to get off road and see some of the backside of Denali. Dusty, wet, dirty… But so much fun! Going through the wet and dry river beds was a blast. The guides provided nice stops and great history of the location. Highly recommend.
