Cranky Hanks Pizza Bank

First time visit, based on recommendations. Ordering on phone was very fast, the person answered all our questions, very polite easily understood, when asked when it would be ready, it was exactly done when said.
The building was easily identified, well lit and clean. The owner greeted me, we had a nice discussion, and he was appreciative. The pizza was very good, and we will be returning and highly recommend this business.

This pizza is absolutely worth the drive!

We were visiting my brother in Cedar Rapids and he was like "Let's get pizza" and I wasn't really feeling it tbh. Then he was driving forever out into the hinterlands (like 15 minutes or so, but it was through fields) and I thought he was definitely taking me somewhere to kill me. We ended up in this cute little (tiny) town of Shellsburg at Cranky Hanks Pizza. My brother ordered a large sausage (no discussion) and I have not had pizza this good since  Frank Pepe's in New Haven (totally different style tho). This is the BEST Quad-City style pizza, hands down, I've ever eaten, and definitely some of the best pizza I've ever had (including gorgonzola pizza in Florence!). To top it off, the owner heard my daughter and I were newbies, so he brought us a slice of their famous (for a reason!) cheesecake.

Sigh... when you need destination dining, or just a great reason to order out again, this is it!

We visited cranky hanks for the first time Friday night, the place was busy but we were still able to get right in and find a table.  Waitress greeted my wife and I very fast and was friendly.  We ordered the meat lovers and it was fantastic! Fresh tasting sauce and the crust was cooked to a perfect crispy outside but soft inside.  The breadstick style they cut the pizza is very nice and easy to eat with either your hands or fork! The homemade cream cheese pie was as good if not a tad better than the pizza!! One of the biggest surprises for my wife and I was how reasonable the bill was considering the drinks, appetizer, pizza, and desert! Can’t wait to go back!!!

We tried Cranky Hank's for the first time tonight and LOVED our experience! We loved finding quad-city style pizza nearby and it was so flavorful. Bonus that they have a ton of variety and options to choose from! The staff were so nice and we enjoyed our conversations with the owners. The environment was welcoming and everything you'd expect in a small-town restaurant. We do pizza every Friday night and can't wait to add this to our regular rotation. I highly recommend and definitely will be back (with our friends and families!).

This is such a hidden gem that I can't believe it was my first time dining there tonight!

The moment we walked in we were greeted by Keith who is so jovial that his presence makes you feel right at home.

Our server was extremely knowledgeable and attentive.  We wanted for nothing the entire time we were there.   She had great recommendations from the menu.  The way the serving staff and the owner interact shows me that he has a lot of respect for his employees and they do for him as well.  You don't always find that in restaurants.

Now for the food.... the cheese bread alone told me what kind of experience I was going to have with my pizza.  it is a perfectly hand-tossed dough that is neither too thin that it crumbles or too thick that it is still doughy.  The cheese is so melty and gently pulls apart showing me that they use a quality product. The marinara alone was impressive as it didn't taste like just tomato sauce and had the perfect level of seasoning and spice without being too overpowering.

These are all great bases for a perfect Pizza as you know.  The owner was nice enough to suggest that we could do our pizza a little differently than normal since they were a little slower. We did half Love of Greece and a quarter taco and a quarter sausage mushroom.   This pizza was cooked to perfection despite having three different types on it!   The meat to topping ratio was spot on!

I literally felt like I was having an orgasm of flavor in my mouth!!!!!

They also offer a locally made cheesecake which is the perfect amount of decadence without being too much after such an amazing meal!

The only downside I could find and it isn't much of one is that they are only open two nights a week.  I would much rather go back several nights a week because once you've had their pizza you'll want it everyday!!

I am happy to report that they gained a new regular and I will be happy to send anyone there for pizza.

It was well worth the short drive from Cedar Rapids for the quality of pizza and service we received!

McDonald's

So I went inside to get 2 iced coffees. Ordered through the kiosk because they apparently will not help you if you are wanting to order at the counter. After 15 minutes of waiting I go up to the counter waited a good little bit to get a employee to assist us and we say we are waiting on our 2 iced coffees one was a latte well the latte machine was down and wouldn’t be up for 20 minutes that’s something I would like to be informed about. We got our coffees the one that wasn’t a latte all the ice was melted and the latte one wasn’t even a latte we just settled for something else since we was in a hurry. The staff was not very friendly and seemed impatient. I personally recommend people to go to the downtown one on Main Street. It’s usually better service and better product. I really hope this one gets better like it used to be.

After the 3rd time yelling at someone from the counter we finally got a 12 year old to take our order. There were only 3 people in the lobby and we stood there for 10 minutes waiting on someone to come see us. The manager, who was working the line, looked at us 3 or 4 times and never yelled for someone to go up front to check on customers. Food was typical McDs. The bathrooms were filthy and I didn't even go cause they were terrible.
Don't k ow who the manager is here but they need to learn how to do their job and make sure their restaurant is running smoothly. Will never stop here again!

People are nice, I think they forgot their supposed to be the cheep fast food tho. If u customize ur burger count on it being wrong every time, if u ask for mayo make sure to say "light mayo" cuz other wise it'll me dripping mayo out the sides as soon as u pick it up, only reason I eat here is for their toys in the kids meals when they have ty beanie babys, Pokemon, or the boo buckets. Also their stock for those toys is super limited so even knowing it's supposed to last a few weeks they could be sold out of the toy in a few days....

We love this McDonald's. The food quality is wonderful. It is way better than the one we have. If it wasn't so far, we would eat here every time we wanted McDonald's.

Picked up dinner for my friend and I, the service was good, but a long wait in drive thru, and food was good!!

Hooters

When we arrived two waitresses acted like they didn’t want to wait on our party. Group of 8 and we ordered appetizers and entrees and each had our drinks refilled once and all drinks were empty for most of the time there. Never asked how our orders were or they turned out ok but wanted us to help her win a contest by buying deserts for the table. Overall service was 2/10. Service 2/10, portions 2/10 and taste 2/10. Will definitely choose other places in Fort Smith to eat at.

We had a party of 8 and service was SLOW. They weren’t crazy busy yet our drinks were empty pretty much the whole time. Our server never cleared our plates. Now the food: the burgers had no seasoning and the wings, the honey siracha sauces was SO good but the wings themselves, I’ve never seen them so small. Just seemed really chintzy for what we were paying for them. I’ve never been to the fort smith location but overall it was pretty underwhelming and kind of a waste of money.

I had the chili cheese fries and 10 naked wings medium sauce with ranch and my son had 16 boneless bbq wings and curly fries. They gave him a free cup for ordering over 16 wings. Prices are very high. But it was a good time with my son. He enjoyed the view. 🤣💯 I do wish they had old pictures up of Hooter Girls and celebrities.

Don’t believe the hype, this place sucked, waiters rushing to leave early, the close your tab so I can go home type. I’m visiting town, thought I try it after many years of not, the buffalo shrimp was def the worst I’ve had. I remember the batter being a lot better, the shrimp here was crumbly and soggy. Everyone pretty much hanging out, place is always dead. There’s a reason for that management 😉, the place down the block was better.

It's a very nice Hooters. Kinda hard to get in and out of but it is what it is.  The food is a little below what I call Hooters quality, compared to others I have been to (about 20).  Service is always the issue here. I have eaten here about 10 times over the last few years and the service is always very below average. I have been in by myself, with family and with friends. Just slow, inattentive service.

Wendy's

I want to praise the workers at Wendy's on S Zero St in Fort Smith AR. Some how on door dash I had everything removed when I didn't want that to happen I wanted to add stuff on to it. So now I am up at Wendy's after calling them they told me this stuff happens so often so I can come up & have it replace just like I wanted it. These guys have been so sweet to me about it.

Michelle & Ashley the managers were so understanding & so sweet an nice to me. They even made it up to me they didn't have to do what they did.

So thank you to Wendy's on S Zero St in Fort Smith AR.

Was pleasantly surprised, friendly cashier, food was good, I've got no complaints, as with a lot of other fast food places.

Best tasting burger amongst major hamburger chains! I've been eating at Wendy's since I was kid! You can never go wrong with Dave's Single with Cheese!

The window worker had such a poor attitude. "what do you want?", sighing and dramatically leaning on the window when driver turned to set his wallet down. Yelling at her coworkers as well, such an awful experience bc of this single person. Do better!

Customer service here is not pleasant. No smiles. Short and quick with taking orders. Fries were cold.

Chick-fil-A

I had just picked up my MIL from the hospital and I hadn’t eaten all day it was 2pm.
I asked for the market salad and told the lady I had an egg allergy. She wrote it in the ticket.
We got our food and drove all the way to van buren to drop off my Mother in law then went home. Put my toddler down for a nap and finally sat down to eat. Exhausted, hungry, and I pull out my salad and it has a freshly cut hard boiled egg. Right on top. The salad doesn’t even come with eggs. But I guess they decided to ruin my day. Won’t go back.

The food is pretty good, but not stellar or anything. The service was decent when we went through the drive through.
It's a good place, nothing terrible happened, I'm just not that into Chick-fil-A, so take this review as just my opinion.

Employees were very sweet and helpful but the big hullabaloo over their chicken sandwich... I just didn't get it. It's okay not any better than other chicken sandwiches I have had. But the price for 4 small chicken strips and small waffle fry and a lemonade was $12. Prices are crazy high everywhere to eat out.

I took my 6 yr old neice to Chick Fil A on her birthday. Turns out it was he first time there. She wore a button that said its my birthday. The lady that took the food to the table made sure to point out the fact it was her birthday. While we were eating our food she came back and asked if she could give her a birthday present. Of course you can! It made her entire day. When we got up from eating my niece was like look there's a cow just like mine. Chick Fil A gave her a mini cow and a free dessert. The cow just like hers was a painting on the wall. I told her they love cows here. My niece then replied why is their name Chick Fil A? I told her it's because they want you to eat chicken instead of cows.

I had an amazing experience here dining in. The workers were extremely nice AND ACCOMMODATING! Everyone was genuine and happy to be serving the guests. It was a joy and treat to slow down and eat here with my baby. She was too young for the play area but she got a new book with her kids meal and was very pleased. (You have to request a book for a child under 3) Thank you Chick fil a staff.

This was one of the best Wendy's I've been to in the whole Ozark Branson area! Super clean lobby, the service was amazing and the food was delicious! Very happy with my experience here and highly recommend if you like a quality Wendy's experience look no further!

I stopped by this Wendy’s on my way to Branson expecting an average burger and fries and let me just tell you, my expectations were exceeded. All of my food was hot and fresh, my fries were good and seasoned, my burger tasted like an actual burger and was seasoned very well and I think I can honestly say it’s the best burger I’ve had in a long time which is shocking considering it came from a fast food chain. I was very impressed and would be glad to stop at this Wendy’s again!

The customer service was on point. Karen took our order and was super sweet!!!!

I went to pick up a Doordash order this morning around 7:45. The door to the lobby was locked. I checked and pulled on it 2x. I went through the drive-thru line, as the app tells us to do. The girl rudely told me I had to go inside. I told her I tried going inside and the door is locked. She told me the door wasn't locked. I let her know I pulled on the door 2x with no luck and needed the order, as well as letting her know I had nreason to lie about the door being locked. She said she wouldn't give it to me through drive-thru. I told her I wasn't going back to the lobby and I needed it through the window. She yelled at me that, "You can just sit there all day then". She finally said with a rude tone, "Fine. I'll go get your order" and got off the speaker. The lady at the window wasn't much friendlier.

I wouldn't lie about the door and I wouldn't go through drive-thru when it's desired that we go inside. Unbelievable, rude, unnecessarily inappropriate service from Harrison Wendy's this morning. Very sad that people are allowed to treat others like that as they represent a business, especially.

Way better than a few months ago. They didn't refuse to cook well done bacon this time. Great.

Shell

Convenient location but sometimes their machines can be very slow. Like, slower than slow. Overall it’s safe neighborhood and decent inside so I will go here but if not in a hurry I’ll go down the road a bit to Casey’s- plus, more variety in gas at Casey’s.

Thieves! They stole my card info and charged my card for $120. Even if i bought a full tank of gas $60, a pop $2, and a bottle of Titos $20, my bill would never have been that high. Working with police and my bank to bring charges.

How to begin, I have no idea who is running this place anymore but that older lady in the am with the short hair and glasses is rude as rude can be. No patience, no idea what customer service means & etc. I can’t believe she is still there and no one else has complained about her yet or if they have why(?)is she still there. Heavy set lady begs for change and shots and seems to be whacked out all the time. The ladies who do chicken are NEVER clean looking and the chicken taste/smells like it’s been sitting out all day. The tall skinny man is a joke he plays several different roles to whoever he is talking to and then turns around and complains about that person after they leave heard him many times. Older lady with long hair seems pretty nice she’s just short on patience sometimes. Lady with short black hair, lady with bun and the big built guy are super nice. You always see those 3 go the extra effort for us. I’ve been secretly shopping here for 5.5 months now to get a good review and not a happy with my findings. If their was enough space write my full review I would be glad to. The mean(understatement)older lady and the chicken ruined it big time personally. The only reason I keep going if I absolutely must is the two lovely ladies and the big built guy. I always hope they are working if I have to stop their. Store in a whole itself is falling apart, bathrooms are halfway decent but have been nasty a lot lately, store + not handicapped accessible at all. This place is a joke minus a few good people. Gas pumps are slow and cc machines work 30% of the time outside and you can’t read the screen. They charge you a buck for a cheap mask, if you don’t have one you get yelled at like screened at once by this tall lady with long hair. I was completely shocked she was allowed to act like that as an employee. Prices keep getting higher and they are already high priced enough almost double other places. If you can stay away. I used to frequent their quite a bit before I decided to take this task of a review and the changes going on are not for the better and clearly visible. Time to change for the good. Sometimes no change is not a bad thing. Your changing the wrong things. Fix the store, fix the chicken (fresh), fix the pumps, fix the bad employees, then people would come back.

The gas nozzle was was busted and did not shut off while i was filling up my car and by the time I looked up and saw gas pouring our if my car charged me $58 for gas that poured all over the ground and then then girl working told me they can't refund me. This is not right it only takes $37 to fill up my car. I will never fill up my car here again and I have been a customer for over a year.

The Purple Cow

Always worth stopping by!  The best ice cream!!!  Has beef jerky and all of the butcher shop goodies that anyone could want!!  So so so good!!  A must stop on any of your trips through the area!!!

Everything in the store is high quality and flavorful. Great place to buy gifts of small batch sauces, pickles,canned,bottled,fresh  and frozen foods including lots of bacon types. The purple cow also sells great homemade ice cream by the cone ,bowl, quart. Very fun place to stop!

Visiting from California into this place selling beef sticks w/tomato  and black cherry ice cream was too good to be true. Foremost- the sweetest staff there! I eat ice cream maybe 5 times a year or less. …. And this black cherry 🍒 was the creamiest n dreamiest ice cream with extra large cherries. It was delicious and a large scoop!
The beef sticks were very tasty, and I plan to go here on each visit.I have to watch my cholesterol and the nutrition count mattered to me at my age. We ate these for days while fishing.
Other goods : frozen meats of various kinds and frozen pizza.
I can imagine how good they must be.
Some good tasting interesting retro  cornflake candy bars too !

Pizza Hut

Not been in quite a while. Decided to try their Melts so I ordered The Chicken Bacon Ranch. First bite I found something in it that almost made me throw up. I'm not sure what it is, but it was not chicken or bacon.  It had been cut in dices so I'm thinking it was in their chicken.  When contracted their reply was sorry here is $10 credit.  Barf, why would I want to eat there again.

Very nice well kept Pizza Hut. Stopped in for lunch and had the pizza buffet.  Pizza were fresh and hot and the food bar was generally kept full. The salad bar was good and was lacking a few items that you would probably see on salad bars at bigger restaurants. I always notice the buffet never has your bigger crust pizzas only the thin ones..I guess that extra dough cost to much lol. We would go back.

I placed an order at 6:37 tonight fir take-out.  Told wait was 20 minutes l. Reality was 1 hour.  Yall stink and I'm actually scared to eat the pizza now because of the staff working in conditions of no air conditioning working in the building.  I don't blame the staff it's a management issue

The staff was great, the pizza was fresh and piping hot. Best of all was my salad. Great job ya'll

We had a group of 50+, called about an hour ahead of arriving and they reserved the party room for us and started pizza, having it all ready and waiting when we got there. The staff was exceptional as was the pizza!

Very very rude! Literally just ignored us in the drive thru! Went in to find food, Noone wanted to help! Very rude. Finally got our food and for once in a long food was good but don't make up for the behaviors of them! No they had Noone in the place!

I ordered my food in drive thru. Paid. Then was told to park in spot 3. Waited for 15 mins. Went inside to check on my food. Manager acted like it was no big deal. I got no apology. And to top it off I didnt get my apple pie. Horrible experience!!!

The food is generally good. Place used to be just fine to visit, but not so much anymore. Good luck getting an order taken, the people behind the counter are pros at ignoring customers. Half the time when you do finally get someone, they'll come out from behind the counter just to show you how to use the kiosk. Sorry but I don't work for McDonald's and damn sure don't want to. And if it's night shift, better hope you're not in a hurry, because they sure aren't.  Have waited 20+ minutes with only 1 other person in line.

About three months ago my sweet tea had a baby roach on the inside of the cup. The manager was notified. Today there was a bug found in my frappe. This is twice in the last couple of months. I recommend going anywhere else but here.
