The Basement Gym

Thankful I was able to come as a guest to this amazing gym. I felt like a kid in a candy shop with the amount of machines and equipment available. One large room had free weights, squat racks, and a variety of other machines. The other room is more open has a minimal amount of cardio equipment but plenty of open space for functional fitness needs. There was childcare available but I did not personally need it. The gym staff was super friendly and loved their jobs there. This rustic looking gym had all the right lighting for that confidence boost and plenty of mirrors for those gym selfies. The price of the membership is adequate for what they offer. I would 10/10 recommend and will be back again!

LOVE! I love the basement gym so much!!! i’ve been coming here for a little over a year and i’m really sad that my time here is coming to an end (off to college). this was a wonderful place to begin my fitness journey. I love coming to a small gym because i love to support small/ local businesses and i love the feel of a smaller gym setting. Everyone was always kind and welcoming, it is always clean, and it’s great to be able to grab an apple on my way out! not to mention there’s usually a cute dog for me to pet in between sets !!!!!!

One of the worst gyms I've been to. Almost every aspect was bad. I checked this place out and could not be more disappointed. Will be looking for a different gym and not looking back. Anyone that is serious about lifting or their health goals should consider elsewhere. Everything from the gym to the management was not so great. Environment wasn't great and the people were condescending and rude. Would not recommend.

I use to go attend planet fitness before training at The Basement Gym. Night and day difference. The staff is incredibly helping in any situation that comes. Daniela is the best personal trainer I’ve worked with and gives motivation in the best ways possible. The Basement has specialty equipment that I’ve never seen in any of the box store gyms like Xsport, planet, or even lifetime. If you are serious about your goals, The Basement Gym is where you need to be!!

This gym is great. Nothing but the best. I have been a Xsport member for over 10 years and going through all of the issues with personal trainers and customer service, I was looking a change. After checking this place out, I could not have been happier. Didn’t even second guess joining after talking with John and getting setup for personal sessions. I have been going for a little over 6 months and have not looked back. Compared to what I was getting from personal training at Xsport to here, is night and day. I blasted through my plateau and have been continuing to push the bar higher and higher.  Having a trainer that pays attention and evaluates you on a day to basis was such a changer compared to what I was used to. Words cannot fathom on what this gym has done for me over these past 6 months. Such an amazing gym and great management! Anyone that is serious about lifting or their health goals should come check this place out! Fantastic environment and great people! Would recommend to anyone!

I have to say I had a great experience with theses great people. They had awesome costumer service helped me out the last 3 minutes I walked into there Medical Store. They all offered help with my son's crutches. Thanks to the great staff you have.

Last night I was desperate for CLA after the gym. I had wanted to start it right away. It was 15 mins before closing and Amaal welcomed me in right away. He stopped what he was doing (nightly cleaning) to help me. He was very knowledgeable and didn't mind that I asked a million questions. I also had questions on protein mixes which he suggested what would be ok, good and better. He wasn't pushing a sale but wanted to make sure I was comfortable with what I was looking for. In the morning I called to speak to a manager and Gerardo answered the phone. He again was super friendly and helped me with other questions after I wanted to praise Amaal. I had the gastric surgery twice and need a lot of protein. Both suggested the same thing and said to look into it before purchasing it. I usually go to Vitamin Shoppe but was blown away by the customer service at GNC and will now be a loyal customer. Thank you Amaal and Gerardo for your assistance. It did not go unnoticed.

Gerardo is full of knowledge and well verse in the subject of health. At first he is not talkative, but with good reason he is not there to try to sell you something he is their if you need his help. Once I was able to let go of the brands I felt loyal too and take suggestions from what he was offering I was able to save money and grow knowledge of the products. I highly recommend talking to him and using his knowledge to better seek your own goals in fitness and in health. I would usually shop online for most of my products, but with fears of brick and mortar stores closing I don't mind paying a little more to keep this place open.

Gerardo is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly! He knows what makes good products what they are and how they stand out. He is so welcoming every time I come. It is a little bit of a drive for me but it is well worth it for the expertises and service. Definitely the only place I’ll go for my stuff !

I usually go to vitamin shoppe but I happened to come across this GNC on my way to caputos. I was surprised to see that they really dropped their prices from years ago when I was a member with them. They also have some brands I've never seen before. Their variety is great and the prices were the same or better on almost all my vitamins. The cashier was much friendlier than most stores I've been to. I'll definitely be back.

This store provides me with excellent customer service and always gets me the products that I need. The associates here aren't pushy and really get to know you and what you are looking to accomplish with your health and wellness. Definitely will be coming back in the future!

StretchLab

Brenda & her crew are excellent! I feel like they are family! Today I came in really hurting and spasms. Natalia worked it all out, took her time & got me feeling sooooo much better. Thank you Natalia for fixing me! You all rock! 💜

Unfortunately my experience with Brenda and her employee; Shannon was one of great disappointment. Shannon was extremely rude when it came to freezing my acct due to medical reasons.
Brenda may have well condoned her employees behavior as she had zero sympathy when I relayed what happened.
I am sure this is not what Anthony Geisler had in mind for StretchLab as the CEO and Founder.
My advice, try another location!

Great experience here. Never heard about this place until I was in town for a work trip. And boy did they deliver. I only had time for a 30-45 minute session. If you're in a similar boat, I suggest focusing on 1 or 2 areas that you specifically want stretched.

My "stretcher" (not sure what to call them) was very friendly and made me feel at ease. I'm a firm believer that any kind of muscle release work is therapeutic both physically and psychologically; we had a good discussion during the stretch.

I also got homework!! Stretches to take home.

The stretchologist took the time to explain the stretching techniques and how they would benefit my body. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and with a newfound range of motion.
I also appreciated the clean and comfortable environment of the facility, it added to the overall positive experience.

I highly recommend this place!

Tried a package. For a guy that loves to workout 5 days per week but not stretch this was a huge help. The team there is fantastic and moves you in ways you didn’t know you could. Very relaxing but also gets you stretching more on your own as you learn some new tricks.

National Karate & Martial Arts

Very Nice Place , Excellent Training!
They know what they are doing! Fantastic Institution. My daughter absolutely loves going to lessons and views it as the highlight of her week. The staff is exceedingly professional and are great with kids. We have only been with the school a short while and have seen huge improvements in our daughter day to day attitude and ability to follow step by step directions. Also helping her establish a higher level confidence and self esteem. The facilities are great and well maintained.

My kids have been taking karate at this school since 2018. I would definitely recommend this school as the instructors are helpful, good with the kids, and want the students to succeed. As an added positive, my oldest child has a learning disability and the instructors are and have been GREAT with him. Although the instructors want the kids to succeed, they will still make them work hard to achieve their next belt.

National Karate has been one of the best things I’ve decided to start! I started in 2012 and still go today. The martial arts they teach is so useful and detailed…I’ve had to defend myself in real life before and thanks to NK I knew exactly what to do. Taking class there feels like one big family and I absolutely love the instructors there! I highly recommend beginning your martial arts journey at National Karate!

We love National Karate!  The self defense, discipline and responsibility being taught are all valuable life skills for our son. The instructors are all great with the kids!

National Karate at Aurora helped my son and daughter develop their confidence and their self-discipline. Mr.Mazzola, Mr.Lopez and Ms.Choice make a great combination of teachers who help the kids in making the learning fun! Definitely recommend NK here at Aurora for kids (and even their parents) to learn martial arts.

Anytime Fitness

I found this place through my roommate and when I finally decided that I needed to work out she suggested this gym and it has been the best decision of my life! I am not afraid anymore of just being myself there and all of the staff ( MY GIRL JULIA) all are wonderful people who really make this place come together! I cant imagine going to another gym ❤️

Great facility! Super clean and has everything you need. Having gone to their other location on Rte 59 for a few years, I would expect nothing less from this ownership group. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a gym.

Great clean workout facility. Has three single bathrooms and two of those bathrooms have showers. All the equipment is well kept up. Plenty of free weights but the gym also has alot of machines. Great music selection running in the background that is clean not too load that you cannot talk or listen to your own music. Friendly clients and staff.

This gym just opened up and is the third Anytime Fitness I have gone to.  The gym is larger than most anytime fitness gyms I've been to and has a good assortment of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment.  There are a few kinks still being worked out at the gym, namely the door and some minor water intrusion, but the facility is brand new and this is common with new structures. I'm confident the gym will meet all your fitness needs and is a much appreciated and needed facility in this area.

I have been a member with anytime fitness for 3 years. This morning I decided to take my nephew to the gym with me, so we went to a location near his home. I didn’t realize that there was an age restriction due to past memberships that I have had at places like planet fitness and so forth.

We were using an equipment near the office when all of a sudden, a short man with long hair tied back approached us and said “Excuse me did you sign in?” I wasn’t sure what he meant by that because I used my key fob to enter the building. I replied “yes we did”, he then asked if my nephew was my son and i replied “no, he is my nephew.”
Then he asked me “if my nephew was 18” which at that point I started seeing where this was going. I replied “No”

He then made a gesture towards the door that we have to go in which we did comply to. I’m not upset that we were kicked out because I understand that my nephew is a liability. I guess I’m a little upset because of man’s tone and grin while telling us to leave. This could be due to a nervous reaction possibly. Some people aren’t comfortable being the bad guy under the these kind of circumstances or it could be due to a lack of confidence. I just believe that there is a more comfortable way for the both of us to have that conversation instead seeing a gesture pointing to the door with awkward posture. I can say it was uncomfortable for all three of us.

As we were walking out I would have appreciated something like I’m sorry have a nice day or anything but we just walked out without any sort of salutation.

This incident occurred today 8/12/23 roughly around 8:30 a.m.

Would give it a zero if there was an option for it. $58/month membership and the hydro massage is down. Planet fitness you pay around $20 bucks and everything there is up and running. pretty ridiculous. Also, the men's bathroom shower is not working properly. The water runs hot from the showerhead for 2-3 minutes and then starts to cool up. Unacceptable for $58/month!!!

The best gym that you will ever find. I use to never go to the gym now im motivated to go all the time. Everyone is so nice and friendly and it's a great atmosphere with amazing owners!

Love it here.  Feel like I'm home when I walk in.   Great gym.  Just the top quality equipment and staff you need to get and stay in shape.  Staff is awesome.  Highly recommend.

I’ve been to many gyms. I stopped by this one to check it out and sign up.

They do not have sales reps available all the time however, a Personal Trainer did show me around after Mark the owner told him I was on my way to check it out. (Thanks by the way.)

This place has a lot to offer in the space it uses from machines to free weights and of  course there’s cardio equipment too. Everything was very clean, well organized, and didn’t see any broken equipment.

They have tanning beds, massagers, and much more!

Small, well equiped fitness center located in strip mall, that is open to members 24 hrs per day 7 days per week. I have been a member for over 1 year. During that time I have used a trainer for 3 months to get well aquainted with the equipment and develop a routine that fits my personal fitness goals. I attend 3 times per week and have trimmed my body fat while adding muscle and losing weight in the process. Like many others, my dues are paid by my health plan. I am in in my mid 70's and my doctors are very pleased with the results I have achieved and maintained.

The staff is wonderful. Incredibly helpful and caring. My flexologist, Victoria, has helped me feel so much better. I am able to do so much ore than I was before I started. I even convinced my mom to sign up. She had her first session and feels better than when she wakes in.

Nice location, very clean inside and staff were very nice and informative. My first appointment was with Chelsea, and she was awesome!! She answered all my questions and seemed genuinely interested in helping me. Highly recommend!!

If you are looking to improve your fitness and overall physical and mental well being .. Checkout Stretch Lab.. In only 4 sessions (50 mins each) I have experienced drastic improvement in my lower back and neck pain! Chantel is amazing!!! The experience  is trans formative  for your physical health, and informative in helping you to understand how to maintain the improvements you have made to your body!!!

I went there for the first time this past week. The team was great and very informative about the benefits of stretching. Scheduled a 50 minute intro session and felt so much better after I met with Victoria. Eased the pain in my neck and lower back as well as my legs.

As soon as I heard about Stretch Lab I immediately contacted them to learn more.  After talking with Stepphanie I decided to join.  The facility is very clean and modern.  I have worked with Melvin for all of my stretch sessions.  He truly understands and listens to my concerns and is able to make the stretches have a meaningful result. I have seen a difference in my golf swing.  I highly recommend Stretch Lab to anyone that is looking for a great way to improve flexibility and overall quality of life.

By far this is the best GNC that I've been to! Upon entering, I heard peaceful chatter amongst a customer and the owner of the shop. When the customer left, I was immediately greeted by the owner Jeff. Jeff was extremely personable, authentic, and catered to all of my needs and questions in the easiest fashion. I felt very confident in my decisions to buy new products as a result of his genuine expertise. If you're looking for an amazing experience at a vitamin and supplement store, then this GNC is the place to get your products!

Jeff (Owner) is awesome. On work from out of town and he was not only knowledgeable but very welcoming. If I’m  in town again, this will be my only stop for supplement needs. Thank you!

The staff is great it's just to bad they have to work for the owner. He was incredibly rude and thought that by insulting other brands he no longer carries it would discourage me from refunding a product he does sell that I was not happy with. It was an uncomfortable experience.

I cannot say enough good things about this company and their staff. Respectful, accommodating, compassionate, honest and trustworthy. I have been employed there for almost 4 years and I would recommend caregivers to this agency as well as families in need of care for their loved one.

Our family had the most positive experience with Visiting Angels Home Care. Pat, the head of the company, is the most caring and flexible director. The “angels” that came to care for our loved ones were truly that, angels! My siblings, parents and I grew close to these lovely caregivers. I would highly recommend this company. They were a huge gift to us when we were in need.

All I can say is that I wish we had found Visiting Angels of Plainfield sooner! This office truly went above and beyond to make my mother in law feel comfortable and dignified, and always treated her with the respect and the care that she (and everyone) deserves. From the friendly availability of the people in the office, to the dependable and incredibly caring caregivers, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone in need of care for a loved one/respite for themselves. Thanks again for treating my mother in law as though she were one of your own

I love Visiting Angels!  The best company, I ever worked with!  The  office team is wonderful!  They listen to you, encourage & we have regular trainings to keep our skills up to date.  I love how they, also set up clients & caregivers personally.
