Alexa at Blo Blow Dry Bar by the Galleria in Bee Cave is amazing! I’ve been coming by to see her weekly when I need some help looking and feeling my best. She carefully washes my hair and really gets in there for a lovely head massage. She expertly blow dries my hair and styles it into curls that last me for days (honestly a week). I just returned to work after having a baby and really need help with caring for my hair. Coming to visit Alexa weekly saves me hours every morning and I can focus on my baby before work. Thank you, Alexa!

I visited this salon on a short trip to Austin. Alexiss was awesome. She recommended multiple hair products that were great for my hair. She was patient and took her time completing my service. My hair came out beautiful. I would definitely recommend and  visit again when in the area.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but felt it was warranted for anyone looking to get an updo for a special occasion. I arrived on time for my appointment, but was asked to wait 20 minutes to get started (not great when you’re the host of an event). The makeup artist did a nice job on my eye makeup, then it all went downhill.

I asked for a modern French twist with NO product application. Think sleek and shiny, with some loose ends. Nothing complicated whatsoever. The first stylist proceeded to rip and pull my hair with tiny elastic bands redoing it several times before asking a senior stylist for help. Not sure why you would need rubber bands for a French twist?

Once the second stylist stepped in, my hair got teased and sprayed to oblivion. She asked me to trust the process…well that’s the last time I’ll be trusting anyone that says that. I left with about 20 pounds of hairspray, texturizer and what looked like a bridal updo from the 80s with ringlet face framing curls.

I was practically in tears that night attempting to remove 700 pins and comb through the rats nest she created. I’ve washed my hair three times and  can still feel the product residue from what they used in my hair.  That will surely be my last visit to this place. Very disappointing for $85+ tip.

Blo Blow Dry Bar is fantastic – the staff is always nice and the hairstyles they create are great. Plus, their service is so efficient, making it easy to get in and out quickly. Highly recommend!

I love having my hair done at the Hill Country Blo Bar, it’s always a stress free, relaxing experience and I always leave with a great style!

Drybar - Indianapolis Downtown Bottleworks

This was my first time visiting this Drybar location and it lived up to my expectations. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming and after a stressful afternoon the complimentary beverage was much needed. Sydney did an amazing job styling my hair and it stayed in place for the next two days (despite travel and humidity). I look forward to my next visit!

Lexi did an amazing job with an up-do request! I showed a picture of the inspiration, she consulted with my hair type and style what would work and checked with me throughout the process to make sure I liked the style and fit. I really appreciate how consultative she was and she gave me tips on how to manage with my gown. Thank you!!

My favorite location between this one and the one in Keystone. Always a great experience and I'm always blown away with how quickly they lay my hair down! It takes me 2 hours alone and it takes them 1! :D The Double Barfly membership is worth it. One of my top favorites is Ashley N!

For context, I have semi long thick 3C natural hair. I get either the straight up or the Manhattan. My hair last at least 2 weeks if I manage it well at home.

My blowout from Sasha W was great! Every strand was perfectly smooth and bouncy, and she took the time to give it volume and shape it around my face in a way that felt so flattering. Highly recommend!

I’ve gone here twice. The first experience was great, she was done quickly and she listened to my requests of no product in my hair. The curls stayed in for almost two days and looked stunning!

The second time they were sweet but didn’t listen when I said no product and my hair didn’t curl right and it didn’t stay. Trust me, your clients know their hair no matter how good you think your product is. It did smell good though :)

Blast Blow Dry Bar

Emily blow dried and styled my hair perfectly and she was so gentle!! I nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed. Highly recommend!

It can be tricky to find a blow-dry bar for your hair if you are a minority. However, having extensions really helps, but every blow dry bar I have been to knows that any hair that does not have extensions needs to be blowdried straight and it needs to be on point. My mistake was asking for my hair curled like SJP as for my first time here, I should have stuck to the basics so that I could review then based on the blowout. As it stands, when I turned around in my chair, I had to request that my hair be brought forward and that my actual hair be curled. Needless to say I had to course correct as soon as I got home as my hair was quite frizzy and my edges were not straightened. While the curls were nice, I have worn this hairstyle a million times and it has definitely looked better. I would be willing to give them another shot, but only for a blowout. As I was sitting in the chair, I noticed another stylist named Sam doing a blowout with multiple brushes, which is what I am accustomed to having lived in Chicago for 7 years. It remains to be seen how Austin measures up.

Wow, I'm at a loss and hate to leave a one/star review but this place is just that HORRIBLE that I have to warn other (potential) victims.  Sorry for being dramatic!  But I've sat on writing this review for some time now and I'm still bothered by it.

As other guests will see their reviews are mixed and somewhat outdated -- unfortunately, I learned afterward that their five-star reviews are for some stylist's that no longer work there.  Clients have been (literally) burnt with curling irons and well their customer service is nonexistent.  I should have known better but I was in a pinch and visited them with an open mind.  I mean everyone can have a bad day, right?  And some people can be unreasonable when writing reviews.

I just needed a blowout (wash + style) and my go-to blow dry bar was booked (poor planning on my part, I'll admit).    I decided on the "curl me up" style -- the shampoo was decent and my stylist was friendly enough but what was horrifying is when I witnessed my stylist pull a brush from her station drawer that wasn't clean...in fact it had someone else's hair still on it!  I had to ask if she was really going to use that brush on me!?  I also noticed that the other stylist wasn't cleaning their brushes after their clients -- I guess this is what they do here but it's seriously disgusting and pretty sure a health code violation of some sort.

I'm all about supporting local but I will never be okay with subpar cleanliness -- there is just no excuse for this!  Lessoned learned. Will not return.

These ladies are magicians. They saved my wedding. Hair and makeup for 8. Super fast. Fun to be around. Easy to work with.

Just had a blow out with Eden and my hair looks phenomenal! I normally get a blow out on vacation so I don’t have to fuss with my hair and I am so glad I stopped here to get my hair done! Cute spot, too. Will def come back next time I’m in town! 🥂

Drybar - Indianapolis Keystone Crossing

Pros: my online appointment wasn’t there and they got us in anyway which was good because we drove 2 hours for a photo shoot that day in Indy and it wouldn’t have looked good with bed head!
She did a great job and it looked good initially. She was professional and nice.

Cons: we asked how long it would hold and she said at least 2 days. It started losing curl after 2 hours and was frizzy and not looking too good 3-4 hours in. The photo shoot took place over an eight hour span so the hair will look different in each location. $96 with the tip for it not to last was disappointing. Not sure if there is an isolated incident or common.

The  hairdresser was very kind, professional and fast. I wish they were all like her, I'm sorry I forgot to ask her name, I was too happy with my hair.

Honestly this was probably one of the worst hair experiences I’ve ever had. I have very long, thick, healthy hair. I have never had a problem with my hair holding curl. I had a major event on the day of my blowout and treated myself to my first appointment at Dry Bar. My hair was fried by the curling iron. I mean so bad that I had to smell it all night and even after I took a shower my hair is still smells like burnt hair. It’s also now after a shower all stringy and and dried/burnt. Not only all of that but I think she realized what she did and sprayed my hair with “shine spray” which made my hair greasy on the top of my head and made me lose any curl she put in. She then said “it’s not really what you asked for but it looks good.” So I was left with straight burnt smelling hair without the style I asked for all evening of my event and on top of that my hair is destroyed. The stylist was nice but she did not do what I asked and fried my hair. I called my normal hairstylist and will now have to try to do a deep conditioning treatment and probably a cut to try to save my hair. This was the absolute worst experience.

Love this place because I always get a great blow out. This time Matt did my up right. I told him that I had to shoot some videos this week and he put some extra special pizzazz into it. My hair is long, curly and very thick. It needs some serious effort to get it to look nice and I always think the stylist at Blo do a really solid job. This photo shows my hair two days after Matt did my hair. Still looks great!

TLDR; I've been to this location MANY times and had a horrible experience on my most recent visit - I will not be returning ever again because of the extremely poor customer service and complete lack of decency I encountered from the manager.

Outlining my experience:
- I had an 8:15am appointment for a blow dry on Friday, and when I walked in, the manager told me she changed my stylist and was going to have the new employee do my hair for "practice" because it would be a "challenge" with my curly hair and that she would shadow her
- I was kind enough to let the new girl practice on my hair even though I was in a hurry; It typically takes me 45 min to get my hair done.
- 30 minutes into my blow dry, I received an urgent call that I had to take from a family member telling me my Aunt passed away (a 40-second call)
- 30 minutes after that, I received another call (less than a minute) I had to take regarding the same matter. (My hair should've already been done at this point). However, this time when I hung up, the manager rudely told me to get off my phone because they were fully booked.
- I was obviously upset because of the rude tone of the manager, but I let the girl finish my hair; the manager never came to check on us and never shadowed her
- She finally finished my hair at 9:50am- it took an hour and a half, and it was not at all the beachy waves I asked for. There were still bumps and curls at my roots. I did not have any more time or energy to waste
- I checked out, tipped my stylist even though I was unhappy with how it turned out, and turned to the manager to explain to her why I had to take the call. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she didn't mean to come off that way - I told her, "I've been to this location many times, I never use my phone, but this was an emergency because I found out that my Aunt died. I understand that you have a business to run, but I'd recommend leading with empathy because you don't know what someone might be going through," and her response was, "But we're fully booked today".

That response told me everything I needed to know about this person and is exactly why I will not be visiting this location ever again. There are plenty of other blow dry bars in Austin, like Blast or Drybar, where you can get a beautiful blowout with better service.

Went for a classic blowout on 12/8/23 and was pretty unimpressed. I get blowouts pretty often and was surprised by the lack of care from the stylist and then she curled my hair towards my face in ringlets when all I asked for was a classic blowout. Ended up having to fix it back home - either give more direction to them or go to another salon.

I was unable to make my appointment due to locking my keys in my car. I made 6 attempts to call the salon to communicate the issue to see if I could still come in even if I would be 10-15 minutes late. No one answered the phone so I decided to not risk them being closed once I got there. I understand the late/ no-show policy and I will take the loss but please answer your phones when someone has an appointment to be able to communicate. You can’t send an email saying “We missed you at Blo! If you are unable to make future appointments we would be grateful if you give us a call or shoot us a quick email to cancel your blow out…” when no one answers the phones.

This location is okay. My first experience was fine. My stylist was very quiet and did not talk to me. I showed a photo of what I want and it was close enough. I prefer the Circle C location a lot more to this one! Definitely go there if you can!

I called to cancel my appointment the day before, after I tried to cancel via the app and it directed me to call the salon directly. No one answered the phone, so I left a voicemail. The next day I am charged the full price of the service( in fact they tried to run my card so many times it triggered fraud and I had to get a new card) even though I attempted to cancel and followed the directions the app gave me, which was to call. I tried to call again to fix the situation because while I MAYBE should have been charged the $25 fee I definitely should not have been charged for the full service as I did call the day before to cancel. No one answered, so I left another voicemail and sent an email. At this point no one has tried to return any of my messages. Terrible customer service. I filed a dispute with my bank for this charge.
The first service I received was good, but this put a bad taste in my mouth so I won’t be returning.

Drybar - Downtown Austin

I came to this location for the first time about 2 weeks ago and Victoria was nice and she did such a good job blowing out my curly hair. However, when I went back yesterday I had a terrible experience. Allie was rude, made the experience uncomfortable, and couldn't work with my curly hair. I would say this place can be really good it just depends on what stylist you get. My experience with Allie made me really anxious so I'll probably never be back.

Really happy with the service. My curly blow dry lasted and was done within an hour by Gwendolyn who was professional and skilled - great considering my type of hair (thick and highlighted). Nice salon with very comfortable wash basins. $100 included crown tonic ($25 scalp scrub); blow dry for long hair ($59) and 20% tip.

I had a great experience! Everyone was so nice! It was so relaxing the whole time from getting my hair washed to the blowout to the curling. I told her my hair falls out of curls easily and she helped me decide which style would be best for me. It looks wonderful and now I want to come here all the time!
My only negative was the phone number on google doesn’t work so I couldn’t call to ask if they validate parking, but they do validate if you park in the amli garage!

Long overdue review! I've been a long time customer of Drybar and have visited a number of locations across Texas and New York.

I frequent the Drybar Downtown pretty often (it’s my home base now) and I've always been so happy with my experience and the stylists I've worked with. I can't say enough great things about this location!

I frequently visit dry bar especially the Las Vegas location. I came in to get my hair done for a funeral and within two hours my hair had completely fallen out. I came back and was charged another $35 when they weren’t even busy to have some more curls put in. It didn’t even take them 10 minutes to do. I would have been better of getting a curling iron closer to where I was and doing it myself instead of now having spent $100 plus tip just for my hair to look like it should have for $59 plus tip!!!!

Parlor Beauty, Blow Dry & Color Bar

I was in Austin for a work trip and was recommended to Parlor Beauty Bar from the front desk lady at my hotel. Parlor is a super cute place, it is very warm and inviting. I had my appointment with Nicolas. He gave me one of the best blowouts I have ever had. It’s the next day and I’m in the airport and it still looks perfect. Thank you Parlor Beauty!

Nick Rocco made me feel so comfortable and welcomed upon my arrival at Parlor, from start to finish I was feeling like a million bucks! My blowout turned out so chic and smooth, it was exactly what I needed. I felt so confident and beautiful I will never forget my experience and I will be back for more NO doubt. I have had my hair blown out for events with Nicholas twice now, and I have never received so many compliments. Nicholas has decades of experience, is so skilled at his craft, and will leave you feeling like a supermodel. Nicholas is warm, easy going, listens to exactly what you want to achieve and then makes all your hair dreams come true. Cannot recommend his services enough!

I came in town with my sister, and heard from her friend about Parlor beauty bar.  Our stylist was very helpful to us, Nicholas was able to blow dry my hair and style the way that I wanted.  My hair normally doesn’t hold a curl, but my hair was still curled the morning after.   Thank  you!

I showed the sylist a photo of the blowout style I wanted and verbally described it as "volume with soft curls." They ended up blow drying my hair flat and using a straightener to make waves with straight ends. It looked awful, unfortunately. I politely told the sylist that I didn't like it and wished I had gotten what I asked for. They said that if I showed them a photo of what I wanted that would help. I was so confused because I did at the beginning of the appointment and got the exact opposite of what I asked for. It hurt to have to pay for the "blowout" that wasn't a blowout. I had to rush home to shower and restyle my hair before the event.

Radiate 60 Hair Collective

This salon is truly an oasis. It’s beautiful, clean, and feels like a retreat every time I go. Every staff member is so welcoming and warm. I love getting my hair done here. I always walk away feeling like my hair is healthy and put together!

One of the only things that makes me go to the suburbs! I’ve been going to Radiate 60 since it opened and wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. Krystal is a true artist and she has high standards for the other stylists at her salon. Beautiful space with good people, good service.

What a great hair salon! Its beautiful and such peaceful environment. Truly genuine people with your best interest in mind as a client. They are looking to give you care for your hair journey over the long haul and not just keep up with the fads. And the owner is a total gem!

Great experience-can’t recommend Krystal enough. She asked questions to understand what I was looking for, gave suggestions, and made a plan with a few options. Tiffany is absolutely amazing - I won’t go anywhere else to get my hair cut!  She is extremely talented! I recently got a trim with her and I left the salon feeling amazing! Not only is she an expert at cutting hair, but she also does an excellent job with color, as this isn’t the first time I’ve trusted her with my hair! I am beyond happy with my highlights that Madeline put in my hair today, the energy was amazing in the salon I loved that everybody was laughing and having a good time, the results were literally amazing and she also made sure I was 100% happy with the result of my hair. I got compliments the whole way out the door and on top 2 more while running errands right after because it looked so good from total strangers! I definitely have found my new salon and stylist.

Tiffany is amazing! I am kind of a picky perfectionist and it’s extremely rare for me to find someone I actually like and trust to do my hair.  She is it! She always has my hair looking amazing! She also does amazing lashes. I have the prettiest blonde I’ve ever had in my entire life.
