Colorado Springs CrossFit Pick It Up

I had a couple of great drop in experiences at Pick It Up Fitness this past week. The workouts were well planned by two obviously experienced coaches. I was greeted by each coach and even the owner of Pick It Up Fitness. The other members were welcoming. The coaches checked to see if I understood the workout, had any injuries or any additionally needed scaling options. I will definitely return to Pick It Up for future workouts.

Absolutely love this place. I've been around the country in the military and have tried multiple gyms but this one is the best by far. The owners and the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, personable and nice. They've helped with a poor shoulder of mine and are always looking out in case of injury. They will always have adjusted exercises in case you don't feel confident enough (handstand push-ups are scary...!) and even have workout activities throughout the year (Halloween, ROW-vember, etc).
It's all in good fun and the other members are awesome as well. 5 star place for sure.

I've been attending Pick It Up Fitness for over a year and a half now, and it's been nothing short of a game-changer for my fitness journey. This place has got a vibe that's encouraging, friendly, and infectious in the best possible way.

Seriously, the best gym in Colorado Springs. I spent a year trying out different CrossFit and group fitness classes in Colorado Springs and nothing compares to PIU. The community and coaches are amazing! I live across town now but it’s worth the drive. Definitely recommend this gym!

The gym might be good but the billing company they use sucks!!! They are scammers. I'm sure the gym owners know about NAC, they should use a different billing server. They just steal your money away.
I been trying to cancel my membership for 4 months now.

Colorado's Pro Gym

Amazing gym full of the best old school equipment ever made. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend checking it out.

I love...love...love this gym. It is a old school gym. It has some of the best old machines. The new machines they have today have too many pulleys. So you are getting a lot of help when lifting. Th older machines also hold you in place, no cheating.

I love the real old-school weightlifting gym vibe here.   I prefer it over a typical fitness center.  I just wish this place were bigger.  Some of the equipment was also in need of repair.

Great serious gym. Great old school equipment. Good atmosphere for anyone who needs a serious place to accomplish fitness goals. If you hate the corporate gym environment and are in the Aurora area, check this place out.

Been lifting at this gym for about 18months, absolutely love it. Friendly members, barely crowded and have all the weights and machines you need.

Hot On Yoga

Previously I had done a few yoga classes and was looking for a place that I could go on a more regular basis. I signed up for the 1 week unlimited to get a feel for what the classes were like. I enjoyed the physical and mental benefits of the classes, and found that it was also a great work-out and kept coming back for more. In just a few months my flexibility and endurance has greatly increased. I really like all the instructors who are always encouraging and clear in their directions.  Mike is a master teacher and is very particular about each pose being done safely to the degree that one is able. If you have never been to a hot yoga class I would highly encourage you to at least give it a try. You may find, like me, that you really enjoy the practice and the health benefits that come.

Went to HOY for multiple classes while on a business trip.  Excellent booking and website.  Facilities are great! Mike and team were friendly, professional and welcoming!

I'm new to yoga. Friends mentioned hot yoga, and that intrigued me. I enjoyed it so much that I went 9 times in my first week. Hot yoga is great, but I sometimes don't feel up to it. I've enjoyed every type of class I've tried. The variety is awesome. For me, all yoga is good exercise, not gruelling, with the best stretching, and mental recovery from the stresses of life. The instructors have all been great. There is plenty of room in the lobby for stashing your stuff and benches and chairs to help you transition in and out. There are also changing rooms. Do it to take care of yourself.

Absolutely loved the prenatal workshop! Danica was such a calming, supportive, and peaceful presence. Exactly what I needed as I'm advancing in my pregnancy!

I can't say enough good things about HOY and all of their wonderful instructors. I've made so much progress in the few years that I've been going there that have not only translated into better overall physical condition but a much better mental well-being and outlook on life. Everyone there is top notch, super helpful and encouraging no matter what level you're at in your yoga practice. I can't imagine what life would be like without my weekly sessions. I'm so grateful to have found this studio and I would recommend them to everyone.

Martial Arts Advantage

We love Martial Arts Advantage. The knowledgeable instructors are patient and the place has a sense of a family atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The instructors are dedicated to helping our little ones in every way they possibly can. Teakwondo is a great option for teaching respect, disipline, perseverance, and boosting your little ones confidence, with the added benefit of them being able to protect themselves, shall they ever need to!

Excelent place to take your kids, It´s the only place my baby is happy since our move to the US. The instructors are amazing

This is one of the best places for any child who needs a boost in self-confidence and self regulation. It  should have six stars! The Owner is a highly trained martial arts professional who teaches the students critical,  life long values in honesty, resilience and fitness. You can't do better. Any child struggling with physical, attentional or socially issues due to covid, school or home issues would truly benefit from Martial Arts Advantage's amazing team of professionals.

Love this place! Better yet, my children love this place! New goals, new experiences, and new motivation. Staff are encouraging, but insist students earn their achievements. I’ve seen a difference in the kids since starting their programs and have wonderful expectations for their discipline, character, and integrity.  You can’t buy self-defense,  self-discipline, and self-confidence and my family is getting much more than we imagined! Thank you to the staff and owners for their daily attention and dedication!!

Planet Fitness

Said they are open 24 hours and arrived at 550 on a Thursday. Closed, no sign on door besides one for holiday hours, just lights off and locked.

Today i am writing this As I was leaving the staff was no where to be found it was a short girl with light brown hair. She wasn’t doing anything but sitting there with a blanket and always leaves there so many people at the front desk waiting for her and she’s no where to be found until last minute. they are hiring people who don’t do much and sit there not doing their job.Also she’s always not in the building she’s always walking from the back or walking thought the front door. She seems to have an attitude anytime I pass by her she’s also never in uniform always wearing a hoodie and slacks it makes no sense to me how my favorite gym can hire new employees that  don’t do any work or give off energy that they don’t want to be there. I’ve never had issues with pass night shift employees which is the time I usually go, there needs to be rules with new employees especially if their not doing their job.

Incompetent staff at this location! If you’re trying to cancel your membership MAKE SURE you get the confirmation email BEFORE leaving the location or the irresponsible “supervisor” will not correct their own staffs mistake. Make it easier for someone to end their membership and make sure you have competent staff and supervisors who can correct the errors THEY have made. Will not be participating in this poorly managed gym again.

Clean and chill atmosphere. Front desk always greets every time and very helpful as well. Definitely worth getting the membership there.

I was a member of this location for the last 7 years, dating back to when they acquired my memberships from a smaller gym that went under. Largely, my time here was nonmaterial. I came, I worked out, I left. I never had issues with staff or other patrons, and I simply don't care enough about what others are doing to be watching what they are up to. However, last week I was needing some customer support from the staff because my payment card changed but the app wouldn't accept the new one. I went in early expecting to spend some time on this, but the service was pretty abysmal. I was asked to wait as the person at the desk was assisting someone else. No big deal. But then she asked me to wait so she could ring up someone she seemed social with because they were "just buying a drink". I said sure, then after helping them she immediately took a phone call and walked off. After returning, she then helped a second person who came in after me. 20 minutes were wasted. I left and got my payment issue adjusted at the Austin Bluffs location. I cancelled the next day after signing up for another club, as I had been thinking of leaving due to the overcrowding anyway. All in all, kinda a bummer way to end a 7 year membership. On the other hand, PF is PF and you get what you get for $10-$20. That's not meant as a slight or diss, just that it is what it is and for that rate its good.

Anytime Fitness

I loved this gym when I went. I'm military and since Peterson has opened their doors 24hrs now, I decided to go for free over paying a membership to a local gym. Was just a smart financially choice and I think many of the local military gyms are looking to do that eventually. In any case, this location is amazing. The equipment is awesome and always well kept. Shout out to the guys who work here for allowing me to vent from time to time. Amazing gym though.

Have been going here for about 6 months. Been a great gym. The crew is always friendly. They are almost always cleaning or working with a client doing training. Sometimes can get a little busy but I’ve never had to wait more than a couple minutes for any machine or set of weights. As with any gym, they may not have one or two specific machines that you want, but there are plenty of alternatives available here. Has not interfered with my progress whatsoever! Clean and convenient access with a friendly staff. What more can you ask for?!

So far so good! As many people mentioned this gym is very clean and organized which makes it an attractive place to workout for me. Smaller gym but it has all you need and is very lowkey which is great for me. Thanks Joe for taking the time out to work with me! I’m happy with choosing this anytime fitness location thus far

Joe has been so helpful and amazing. I’ve learned a lot from him with my recommended gym routine. He always answers my questions and goes above and beyond. His knowledge and expertise have been invaluable to me, especially starting over in the gym. Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and guidance in helping me get back in shape and reaching my goal! Also, the gym itself is great! Very clean and well equipped. I have everything I need there to complete my workouts and more. If you’re  not at this gym, then you’re missing out. Highly recommend!

This a a great location to work out in. Have been coming in for about 6 months now and have worked out early mornings and after work as well. Place is very clean, all the machines are in great condition, staff is very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to start/continue a healthy life style. 5 stars all the way (too bad I can’t give them 6!!).

ROOT TO RISE YOGA

Root to Rise is a welcoming place for all levels of yoga experience. The teachers shine positive energy with sincere words of support for both physical and spiritual health.  Whether offering alignment guidance or inviting intention reflection, all of the Root to Rise staff are warm and dedicated to foster a loving community inside and outside of the studio.

I LOVE this studio! It’s is a great, caring and kind community. The teachers are all Knowles and fabulous, and there are so many different classes to try. Something for everyone. Hot, tai chi, vinyasa, sculpt, sound bath, meditation, and a space for treatments like acupuncture, massage, reflexology and more. Definitely try a class and see for yourself. You won’t regret it.

Wonderful experience - studio is gorgeous & everyone is so friendly. My fave class so far is the heated power yoga taught by Karen - she is an amazing instructor! Keeps you flowing & working up an amazing sweat - super challenging while encouraging to rest when you need it! 🙏

Love this studio!!  Beautiful space with an expansive variety & diversity of yoga class offerings. The teachers are well trained and very friendly. The owner is lovely and extremely committed to this community! I am humbled and grateful to be a new member. Come check it out.

You have lots of choices for yoga in Denver but I can assure you none have the warmth and community (and fun!) of Root to Rise. My first hot yoga class ever was here, and I've been back for 250 more.

Yes, there's literal warmth with a state-of-the-art radiant heat/humidity system that will keep you challenged during hot yoga with a consistent experience. But truly, you become part of a family. And it is beautifully diverse one - you'll practice with women and men of all ages, levels, and backgrounds - everyone can feel at home. Each instructor brings their own personality yet weaves in the consistency of their own training. And every instructor is absolutely committed to helping you grow in your practice.

The schedule is consistent with some seasonal variations and offers plenty of options for early risers, candlelight, and in between - I suggest trying a variety of different classes to find what fits best in your life.

One-hour hot classes fit into busy schedules, and longer, more traditional sequences (75/90 min) are offered as a great way to mix things up and really grow in your practice. In addition to hot, here's restorative, flow, aerial, and lots of special offerings as well.

The facilities here - showers, lockers, etc. - are super nice and very thoughtfully appointed. The owner is a wonderful person who puts her everything into making this experience great for you day in and day out. Pro tip: an annual membership will result in you really wanting to take full advantage of all there is to offer at Root to Rise!

24 Hour Fitness

I use the Olympic platforms mostly.
They have 6 platforms but they are 3 doubles that face each other.
No mirror to check your form.
They are setup by the reception desk and entrance doors. So it's drafty and cold right now.
They only have squat bars w center knurling.
They don't have a bench to use on the platforms.
I don't fit on the benches by the dumbbells. The bar hits the face of the safety pins when arms are locked out. So I can't unrack the bar properly.
I would like to use the safety bars on the platform racks because I workout alone. And I can change the height of the J cups to the proper height for me.
The power cage in the rear corner needs some TLC. The safety pins are bent and are hard to change the height of them.
The men's locker room is decent, could use a refresh.
The sauna works, but 2 of the 3 interior lights have been out.

This gym is so gross. The women’s locker room is always dirty. Mold on shower curtains, toilets always clogged, hair balls, trash. The pool area is gross also. Not sure how often they clean the pool but I’m always throwing hair balls out. The tile looks gross and moldy. I know it’s an older building, but it seriously needs a face lift. Even just a deep clean would help.

Do something about all these beer garden people parking in the 24 hour parking lot. They leave no parking for the people who are actually going to the gym and makes it really inconvenient.

This gym is so disgusting! They never clean the bathrooms, the saunas, nor the machines. Further, there’s black mold in the men’s locker room. There’s an odious stench that never goes away. Overall, It’s not worth it. Even planet Fitness is cleaner than this gym. Also, there’s no AC. In the summers it gets extremely hot. If I could give this gym a 0, I would. Stay away.

This gym is truly one of the worst gyms in the Denver metro area. It’s a shame because it used to be one of the best. I’ve worked here in the past and love the community, but new management and front desk staff have made this place almost unbearable. Machines are broken, the sauna seems to be a health hazard, and the bathrooms are not much better. I hope they can get this place back on track but right now, it’s not worth a membership. B Pilates Boutique

I have taken Pilates reformer classes for years.  Recently I dropped my membership with a large Club near me.  I signed up for a "Class Pass" to try out other reformer classes in town. Having already taken classes at B Pilates, I wanted to compare quality, pricing, availability, etc.  This is my conclusion:  B. Pilates is hands down the BEST Pilates studio in South Denver (probably all of Colorado!!)  I've taken classes from Sara (co-owner) for many years and I've been spoiled!  She takes in consideration everyone's unique fitness levels, injuries, etc and customizes the movements when necessary.  She is positive, encouraging, and lots of fun. Each session I've taken is unique and never, ever boring!  B. Pilates also offers Yoga, spin classes, private sessions, semi privates and classes.
Look no further.  No other studio comes close.

Real Pilates from real people. The instructors at b. pilates are so knowledgeable. I first worked with Sara when I was very de-conditioned. She challenged me without making me feel less-than. As I get stronger, she continues to find my areas of opportunity. This is not some flash in the pan fad workout studio. It is real Pilates.The work you will do here is significant, and can change your mind and body if you commit to it. Thank you for helping me "b" my best!!!!

D1 Training Greenwood Village

D1 Training Greenwood Village has become my favorite place to train! If you’re looking for a gym that offers one-on-one coaching or group athletic training with amazing, knowledgeable, and motivating coaches, you’ve found the perfect place. Workouts are built around building your overall athleticism by improving  strength, flexibility, mobility, and energy with comprehensive daily workouts. This gym is clean, spacious, and stocked with top-notch equipment. D1 even offers a variety of class times to fit any schedule. I highly recommend you come try it out and I hope you get hooked as quickly as I have!

I've done several different types of group and personal training programs, and this is the gold standard. Every coach is highly knowledgeable and personable. I appreciate that they are always encouraging and ready to provide modifications or additional guidance on movements. Workouts are challenging AND effective. Also, there is such a great community of people. Only con is I've never been able to slip by with slacking..

I started a 6 week challenge with Coach Sophia to help me get back into the flow of working out. I did not expect to not only reach my weight goal and develop a healthy relationship which the gym, but I have become part of a community that is more than supportive of each other. I didn’t think I would like a class setting however, there is no better feeling then when you’ve forced yourself to get out of bed for a 5am class and you are greeted as soon as you walk in with enthusiasm, ready for others to see you put in good work! The entire team over at Greenwood Village is amazing and although I am not currently playing a sport, if I ever decide to in the future, D1 has more than prepared my strength and endurance for it. Highly recommend!

From my first contact with Court at D1 training, I could tell they really cared about their customers. After working out there, I knew that this was somewhere I would love to become a regular at. Both of the trainers that coached my group really pushed me to work as hard as I could while also doing a great job improving my form. They truly care about making you a better athlete and an overall healthy lifestyle. Very personable throughout the workout too which was awesome! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get a great workout in with great people!

I was in town for work and went to a couple classes during D1's first week of business. I really enjoyed the classes. Coach Jeremy was really informative and focused on form, which was important to me since I hadn't done some of the exercises before. Good variety of strength and cardio exercises, and we were encouraged to work at your own level. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.
