I recently had the pleasure of visiting the REI store in Portland, Oregon, and it was an experience worth sharing. It is a great one-stop shop for every recreational gear/tool you need. I love the experience here since there are so many amazing friendly and knowledgeable staff here. It is a two-level building offering gear, clothes, and shoes. I highly suggest this store to anyone

The employees were very helpful and knowledgeable without being stuck up. Friendly without being overbearing, and they were able to help us find exactly what we needed without trying to sell us things we didn’t need. They also have a nice accessible entrance that was easy to navigate with my mobility aide, as well as any uneven ground is marked with high contrast tape, so the store as a whole was accessible.

Staff are very nice and great product.  5 star review.

Have been shopping here for a couple of years since moving. Always friendly staff with helpful advice. I’ve only had one bad experience here but it was an employee I haven’t seen since. I generally enjoy my trips here.  Sometimes stock can be hit or miss especially on common sizes but still, a well run location that’s worthy of your money.

Upon my last visit I was greeted at the door by an associate behind the desk. The friendliness, attentiveness and intentionality notably made my day. Appreciate his humor and attitude as I was checking out as well. Great associates like this man is what set retail establishments apart. I will be back to shop at this store!

I was checking out one of the treadmills that were on display and seemed like was available as a demo to use. I previously saw someone else using the demo so I went to try it myself as well. After 5 seconds a white male worker tells me ‘Don’t touch it’ in what seemed like was a rude tone. I was confused because there was no sign saying to not touch it or no barrier blocking people from getting on it as well as the person using it before. Please visibly show whether or not displays are available for trying out next time or have more clear rules. I am assuming racism upon this incident.

Went there Thursday afternoon for kids basketball shoes.  It wasn't busy but jees, the guy working in shoes really didn't want to work.  He pointed in the direction of the shoe sizer for kids instead of showing us, then did so begrudgingly.   Then disappeared for a bit to the other side until we could flag him to get sizes.

The last straw?  After bringing the display shoes so he'd know what to get, he asked us to put them back.  No.  Not trying to be an entitled customer but for heavens sake, when I had a similar job I never would imagine delegating what I'm supposed to do to a potentially paying customer.  I could return them to the display.  That guy?  Lazy.  So... my kid tried on the shoes to test the fit and we just left - with everything there for him to *GASP*... do his job.  Won't be back for shoes at least...

My Son got a great pair of Kyrie Basketball sneakers today...however, the staff at the shoe dept are not very helpful and one girl was just plain rude, we asked her if the sneakers came in the next size up she quickly scanned the box we already had of the smaller size, looked it up and said "No", then she just walked away?!? WE SPENT OVER $120.00 FOR SNEAKERS AND LACES!!
It Would have been nice for her to ask us if we needed anything else or Im sorry, etc...

The young man who helped us got my son his shoes and new laces and walked away. He Never checked back with us?!
I blame the store for not training these "kids" or for hiring unpleasant people. I don't wonder why online shopping is so popular now.
The check out area is awkward, the cashier was pleasant but we had to "ask" for a bag to put our purchase in?!?! WHAT??
The store itself is clean and organized, however the Mens bathroom was a complete mess my husband said. The Women's bathroom was fine.
Happy my son got his new sneakers but it wasn't a great visit....Im disappointed.

Jacob B and his buddy would rather stand around talking then offer 30 seconds of assistance to help a customer with a very basic request to find a pair of sneakers. Would not recommend anyone come here, would give 0 stars if that was an option.

Avoid this Dick’s at all costs. The staff and manager are not helpful. Placed an online order and went to pick it up. They said it wasn’t ready and for me to come back. 🤔 I said okay, well, I’m here, so should I get it myself? I went to get the item myself and cancelled the online order. The employee even went into the back room to see if the item processed and came back to tell me that it wasn’t ready. They could have gotten the item and processed it in that time. Ridiculous.

I found what I wanted right away, but there was only one chaser for about 20 customers. Make sure you plan for a long wait when visiting this store. Stood in line for almost a half hour. If I wasn’t really in need of my purchase, I would have left…

We bought three Spring Season Coats today all at what I consider to be value-priced. Last year we purchased two bikes that were on sale. The salesperson spent a long time with us and pulled many colors and styles of bikes from the back room to satisfy our needs. The bikes were assembled before the day they were promised. On pick-up day, one of the handlebars was mis-aligned. They immediately fixed this without any issues as well as installed a kickstand on the other bike. With the rewards points we were able to purchase some additional accessories at no-cost. Service was great.

Great place to get gear. Prices are high but quality is good for shoes and sports equipment.

What a disappointment. Nothing is reflected true in terms of stocks. Totally waste of time. Staff don’t have any knowledge on the goods. Be aware of this store!!

Kittery Trading Post

Such a sweet place I have to say. Came for boots and they had such a great selection, they even had Chippewa loggers in a size 22! I really enjoy this place it’s so cool. Might come again soon with more people. I also really like their gun selection it it big and wide with just about anything you’d need. This place is waaaaaaaay better then bass pro shop by far. I highly recommend checking this place out.

This place has changed since I was a kid! Wish we had one of these on the West Coast! This would be my go to place for just about everything! You can find almost anything here from clothes to foot ware to hunting and fishing gear to guns to bikes to surfboards to bogey boards to fudge and saltwater taffy to…need I go on? You get the point. Really nice, helpful folks and great prices with plenty of sales items!

For those from the West Coast, think of Cabella's on steroids. If you're from the Maine/NH area, I guess there is no comparison to anything. Perhaps the biggest outdoor/sporting goods store I've ever been in. Three floors of stuff. And it's not just sporting goods/outdoor items but lots of househood food items to boot. Huge shoe and apparel section. It's almost like a theme park but for the outdoor persons. But honestly, most of their stuff the average person is not really going to need. Not unless you're a hardcore outdoor enthusiast.

Need jerky, they got it. Need an AR15 with a cog scope and silencer, they got it. Hungry and want lobster roll, they got it. Huge sneaker and clothing selection. Also great big and tall section.

This place is a must visit whenever we travel to Maine. Usually spend a couple hours shopping and a few hundred dollars each trip. Today, I purchased yet another pair of hiking shoes, Oboz are super comfortable and lasts a long time. Smart Wool and Darn Tough socks were another must purchase. Clothing selection is phenomenal, camping gear is second to none, and the recreational items available are insane!

Decathlon

We bought a kayak 1 month ago but we could use only twice because we couldn’t find any calm place to use kayak in Galicia. In the web page it’s writing we can come back to product within 60 days. For these reasons, we wanted return the kayak. The guy who is responsible from kayak for return process, he was extremely ice out and attention is zero. I paid by card but they didn’t want to pay back in the same way. They paid with gift card.

Please remember, if you have the same problem ask to him/her to show the difference same product they are selling and the product you want to return

You know decathlon. Cheap plastic and fabric-made stuff sold at prices that we perceive as good for what we pay. You get what you pay for or even less, that's the rule of the game. Usually I return most of the stuff I get as I get hooked by the price and then realize what a waste of time and money when I get home.

Guess there's nothing you can't find regarding any sport you can think of.... amazing. VERY friendly and helpful staff!!

Decathlon Parque Astur

A smaller Decathlon compared to others, but they still have what you could need for the sporting outdoors world.

Good shop, very diverse assortiment. I think it is hard to NOT find what you need. And kind service from the shop employees.

Decathlon Lugones

Great store with very good prices for entry level material for a wide range of sports outside the football and rugby. Helpful staff. A real shame that their bike workshop only repairs Decathlon branded bikes. We used to take our bikes there and the mechanics were great.

The best place I've found to buy clothes. Cheap price and good quality. A lot of discounts!

Good place to get your gear if you've just taken up a sport and don't want to pay top brand prices.

Decathlon Gijón

Very disappointing. Looking for some trainers but rather than putting them all in one place they are spread out all over the store. We gave up and went to the Sports superstore next door and that was ridiculously expensive. Went home trainer-less.

Although I didn't purchase my bike from this Decathlon store, the mechanic was more than happy to replace the faulty part. Very friendly and efficient. Thank you! 😊

Wherever you go to a Decathlon, you are guaranteed a positive experience in the constant range and price of products. As I mentioned on the Lugones store, good price for entry point material, if you are serious about the sport, there's other place you should go.

Decathlon has virtually everything you need in terms of sports equipment. Everything from bicycles, to diving suits, to camping equipment. Clothing, accessories, sports equipment, etc. And all at reasonable prices. It's a one stop shop.
