Drybar - Lower East Side

The staff seemed very nice, but I paid for a blowout with loose curls and what I got was... not that. It looked somewhat okay when I left, but within an hour the curls had completely fallen out. I was left with weirdly tall hair at the top, then straight hair with two awkward bump outs near my face. It looked like I'd just woken up from a nap lol. So I ended up paying $70 to wear a ponytail to my event.

Avoid if you’re a natural girly (3b-4c) you will probably get dirty looks and some stylists will not be delighted to do your hair.

I’ve been coming to Drybar the past 5 years for my annual blowout but I won’t return.

My appointment for myself and guest were not accommodated because the salon was booked and stylists would need 1.5 hours to complete a blowout. That is fine and expected, however I put in my notes when I booked days prior that the stylist would need  extra time for myself and guest due to our curl types.

I also called an hour before my appointment to let them know I’d be 10ish min late and was told that would be fine. Ultimately, we were unable to be accommodated due to our “thick hair” and time needed. We traveled over an hour to not be serviced.

However, I will say the receptionist was kind enough to offer to book me the next day but I did not want to risk traveling to the city again to not be  serviced. I would’ve been understanding if staff were transparent and I was told prior to arriving that the salon was overbooked and to reschedule.

DO NOT COME HERE. If I worked here and had a customer who came in and I happened to do their hair like mine was done, I would've stopped and tried to make it right.

I asked for the old fashioned which I have had done before (they used rollers) and it was done correctly there. This time, it looked like I had curly hair and the stylist had the audacity to tell me that this is what I asked for. Also, anyone who curls hair knows to that the curls need to go outwards on both sides. She curled my hair the same direction for all curls. There was no mirror for me to check up on how she was doing or what she was doing until the end when she spun me around to see the final product.

Would not recommend. Terrible experience. It was for a tv show premiere and now all the photos will be there forever.

My stylist had so much attitude from the second I walked in the door. I didn’t say anything rude to her and really made an effort to be overly nice, but only was received with more and more attitude. Maybe she had a bad day, but my hair came out horrible and I felt uncomfortable the entire time. Definitely will not be back.

Totally obsessed with dry bar lower east side , and the manager Brandi she is literally the best , she understands perfectly what I want and make my hair looks ready for the runway , plus the best vibes ever ! Such an experience

Blo Blow Dry Bar

I have been going to Blo Amsterdam for years and I have no intention of ever going anywhere else. Genesis is one of the best hair stylists I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot as someone who gets their hair done weekly). Not only does she manage to tame my very thick, coarse, natural hair into a sleek straight style but she also listens and has built a deep trust. Genesis is truly talented and I’m so glad that I found her.  Call Blo and ask for her, you will be thankful you did!

I had overnight pin curls done here and loved them! It was a first for me.

I explained to the stylist that afternoon that I would be flying out in the evening to attend a morning wedding and needed a style that would last. Originally, I was planning on just getting a normal blowout and meeting my head wrapped in a scarf, but the stylist recommended pin curls. So I may have looked a little silly at the airport, but it was all with it. I'm glad I tried something new!

The curls lasted three days and nights, at which point I just wanted to wash my hair. I believe they could've gone longer. I did sleep with a scarf every night to make them last.

This place has always been hit or miss.
It’s a convenient location so I’ve given it far more chances than it deserves, but now I’m done.  Worst blowout ever.  Only thing worse than the blowout is the attitude in this salon.  They have an attitude of disdain for the customer.  When they ask how your blowout was if your answer is negative be prepared to be treated as if you’re the problem, not the untrained amateurs working there.   Terrible salon.
Wonder if the owner knows there are reasons they’re not busier.

I hope this location is embarrassed. Every customer was turned away from their mirrors until the very end and it’s clear why. Spent almost an hour putting beautiful curls throughout my moms hair, only in the last 15 minute to pull the sides of the hair up into I don’t know what and hide what she spent the entire time doing. I will have to say the staff was  and friendly but I didn’t go there for dinner, we went to have my moms hair done and it was nothing other than disappointing. Are these girls licensed stylists????

Emma and staff went out of their way to make the perfect prom hairstyle. The blow out was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

Dyanna Spa & Waxing Center NYC

I have visited this nail salon in midtown Manhattan for spa manicure and jelly pedicure. Affordable and effective! This place offers fantastic manicure & pedicure services.

I stumbled upon this salon last week by by chance and I am SO GLAD I DID! The staff is so attentive and professional, it was truly one of the best facials I had in a while. Completely relaxing, the space is clean and soothing. I will definitely be back, maybe even for a couples spa date !!

I have been going to Dayana SPA for a couple of months now. It is the only place that delivered an outstanding result after multiple acne treatments. Very effective and the price is really affordable. There is no such thing as staff pushing sales onto you (like in many other places). They have kind and friendly workers that  provide the care you deserve. 5/5 stars would recommend to my friends and family.

Lovely spot with friendly and well-trained staff. I get a brazilian wax here and always have a great experience. It is hard to find a good place when you are a man, but these guys are 100% worth a visit. The pricing is competitive. 10/10

I am a male and I been coming to Dyanna spa for my manicure ,pedicure and  hair removal - waxing. This is the best place ever . I feel so comfortable there and they do a very good job. Highly recommend  for all waxing needs -specially Brazilian wax.

Drybar - Nordstrom NYC

Eleonora, the hairdresser who did my hair, was friendly but not knowledgeable. The overall experience was way below my expectations and definitely poor.

Starting with the washing, I only received a quick shampoo that lasted less than three minutes and was very rough. There was another lady getting her hair washed at the same time, and just to give you an idea, she started before me and finished long after I did. I even questioned the hairdresser about whether my hair was properly cleaned, and she simply replied, 'It is, it is, don't worry!' She offered to do another shampoo, but she had already conditioned my hair, and I decided to trust her.

The styling, unfortunately, was no better. She didn't use any products on my hair before starting to blow-dry it. Instead, she used a brush that still had the previous client's hair on it!!!!!!! Once I pointed it out, she seemed surprised, saying, 'Oh, of course, sorry!' She removed the hair and just left it on the table in front of me. That was truly disgusting!

On multiple occasions, she accidentally burned my ears and scalp. She apologized, but then didn't change anything.

I specifically requested a curly and voluminous hairstyle, but despite her efforts when I told her my hair was too flat, I left with only the tips curled. I was so frustrated that at one point, Eleonora told me, "You seem nervous, don't be!" Well, I suppose it's easier said than done. Within a few hours, my hair was mostly straight.

Lastly, I went to Drybar for my wedding anniversary, hoping for that extra pampering. Unfortunately, nobody seemed to know about the occasion or that it was my first time at Drybar. It was disappointing that they didn't acknowledge the notes written when booking.

Overall, it was a far from relaxing experience, and I will definitely never go back or recommend Drybar to anyone else.

I've now been to 3 dry bars in NYC and as all I feel are pretty unfriendly, Nordstroms stylists are the absolute worst. They don't even know the products they sell. How does a guy give someone a blowout that asks for stick straight hair and he never even uses a flat iron and when asked was told he's the professional.

In the end, I was the most pissed at myself for giving a tip...this experience finally proved to me/gave me the confidence to blow out my own hair for any occasion😉

My blowout was fine but customer service is awful! I applied a $10 coupon as a new customer and it was never reflected on my final bill! I called to store and they did nothing about it! I am not coming back!

The manager here is magic!!!! She created a stunning hairstyle for me!

This location in Nordstroms is so easy to get to plus everyone was so friendly. Rita was amazing! She did my blowout she was so personable and professional. I loved my hair!! I would highly recommend Rita and Drybar! Thank y’all

Drybar - Thompson Central Park

I’ve been 2 times to Drybar in two different locations. Both times they did a very good job with my hair. Featured in the photos here is the lovely Maceo who took care of my hair (you can see the outcome at one of the photos here). They will offer you complementary drinks while you wait but be sure to arrive on midweek otherwise the place can be pretty crowded. Also, to avoid long waiting time you should schedule appointments online. Or try to arrive as a walk-in on midweek.

I’ve been to other dry bars and had good experiences but it seems like booking an appointment here does not guarantee staff will be there to honor the appointment.

I booked an appointment on a time crunch for a special occasion for myself and my mom and was told no stylists were there for either of us. By 20 minutes after our appointment, no one had showed up and we had to leave.  I would not recommend this location if you are looking to actually get your hair done.

Vincent is the man. He did a fabulous job on my hair. My mother had hers done as well.. it looked less than fabulous but not only did Vincent offer to give a little more volume to hers.. he over heard us possibly not making our dinner reservation. So he asked his coworker to take care of my moms hair. I don’t run in to many people with a sense of urgency and care. I HIGHLY recommend this gentleman. I would become a loyal customer to him if I still lived here. Bravo from start to finish. Vincent!

I’ve been to about 7 Drybar locations, this was BY FAR THE WORST, I had a very negative experience. Every single time, and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME, they are ALWAYS AT LEAST 45 minutes late minimum. This is the absolute WORST Dry Bar location I have ever been to. Would give zero stars if I could. In the business of customer service I feel "fashionably late" it still unacceptable. This is extremely unacceptable. Not only was my appointment not on time but I stood in the front of the shop and was not greeted by anyone. While I was getting my hair washed to two employees we're discussing how much they disliked their job, how they were searching for new jobs and that one employee was going to go back to her old job at the Drybar - Thompson Central Park, I have straight hair, you dont need to PULL and STRETCH and BREAK my hair to get it straight, it is hard NOT to have it by straight but this girl caused so much damage, She was rude from the beginning, throwing the menu book on the counter and asking, "What do you want?"  She barely washed the hair, sprayed water in my face, On top of that, the receptionists are absolute trash. Rude and unprofessional. I will never go back to this DryBar again.!!!!!!!

Love this place! Upbeat, fun, professional, everyone is friendly and you get to drink champagne while you get your hair blown out. Who could ask for more! I got the Manhattan of course!

Where's the 6th star? The best waxing experience every time, practically pain-free. Lana is an absolute professional when it comes to Brazilian waxing for men. I'm one of those people who doesn’t like to chat at the salons, but visiting Lana is like catching up with an old friend. I found Dayana SPA through high ratings almost 6 months ago, and am so glad I gave it a go - could not recommend more highly. Must-go.

Wow! The full body hair removal service exceeded my expectations. It was thorough and left my skin feeling amazing. I can't wait to show off the results!

12/3/22 I went to my appointment at the 39 street location midtown Manhattan. The lady working there that day stated she thought it was an Asian person coming because of the name that I put on the booking.she was the only employee there at the time. I said to her maybe you shouldn’t stereotype and she got quiet. She claimed to not have enough time to service me and I stated that I could go somewhere else. I didn’t come there to be rushed or half service. She stated that she could do what I booked. She seemed to be rushing the waxing and I wasn’t cleaned properly after. I felt sticky. The bathroom isn’t in the facility so if you need a massage it’s best to do that before you undress into the robe.Then when it was time for her to do the Swedish massage she acted like she was afraid to massage me. Then told me it was a larger price when the website says a different price. She acted like she didn’t understand what a Swedish massage was. I haven’t ever experienced this type of service. A Caucasian lady was sitting there when I got dressed after the massage and the employee was doing her nails. I normally love coming here and using this company. I’m not sure what this employees issue was. And yes I am black amongst other things. This shouldn’t have happened.

Can I just say that Lana is absolutely incredible? She is so nice and made my experience unforgettable, even though a Brazilian wax can be a bit awkward. I have been to multiple waxing salons, but Lana sets the bar very high and she makes my day each time. I am really happy with the results and will be back here again next time!

Drybar - Midtown East

I booked with a specific stylist months in advance. When I got there, I was told she called in sick. This was not true. She was told by management to stay home because they were slow. Knowing I booked specifically with her, management took it upon themselves to switch me to another stylist without 1st consulting me and giving me the option to cancel my appointment and book elsewhere. They are liars and the stylist I was assigned to did not style my hair as I asked, even after showing specific pictures of what I previously had done

It was a horrible experience do not spend your money here. I had my hair done for an an engagement party. First, the woman did a completely different style than what I asked for and blamed it on my short hair. The manager stepped in and had someone do it correctly. Second, I got home 30 minutes later and my hair is flat. The curls did not last more than 30 minutes. I normally have wavy hair that holds up curls but this didn’t hold up. My hair looks like it was flat ironed and now curled at all.

Terrible service. I was a 3:15pm walk in on Sunday the 3rd of September. Sign outside store said 7pm close and walk ins welcome. Both stylists were working with clients but acknowledged me so I took a seat. Half an hour later as both clients were finished eftpos issues held up one stylist. The other had a very disgruntled client so disappeared out the back. At 3:40pm the first stylist said “oh I thought you were waiting for someone”….”we close at four”. I said your sign says you are open until 7pm! Response was “sorry but staff shortages mean those aren’t our hours anymore, you need to leave because we are closing”. Unbelievable. The stylist could have stayed and done my hair given the circumstances. If that was my business I’d be appalled at the staff attitude to customer service and brand reputation.

Probably the worse hair styling I have ever had. My hair is naturally wavy. I asked them to simply define a few of the curls.

After 2 hair stylists (thank you manager of the store for at least trying) and a lot of burning smell in the air the receptionist was the cherry on the top: she was rude beyond belief!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Let me start off by saying I am not the type to write reviews but my experience warrants it. They had an attitude the second I walked in and I heard the front desk lady to refer to me as the "Latino one" when my stylist asked who I was. When I showed my stylist the style I wanted (which was just a traditional blowout) she said she could not do that and the only thing she could do was straighten or curl it. I eventually said she can just straighten it. While she was straightening my hair, she burned the back of my head very badly to the point where I now have to use a Silicon scar gel for the scar. She did not apologize or even acknowledge the burn after I flinched and let her know she burned my head. I booked the appointment for a guest as well, who showed up on time but they claimed she was 5min late as that is when the front desk got to her and they refused to style her hair (and they still charged her for the full price of the blowout). After my hair was done and I paid via gift card, the front desk lady did not even say thank you or have a good day, she just tossed my gift card back at me. I am honestly appalled and have never experienced this type of treatment, please avoid.

Nicole did my make up last night, right before I had to attend a benefit.  She make me stunning!  I did a full face $50-$60.  Well worth it!
She's amazing, she took me as a last minute client, picked a great color palette for me.  I got so many compliments. Definitely going back!

Hello! What a disappointment!
Days ago I made an appointment for a blow dry and eye make up. The hair was alright, however I couldn’t understand the fact that HOW ON EARTH, if you are a salon owner, not have any kind of eye liner available in your salon? Not only that but also the fact that the make up employee didn’t know how out on an eye liner at all??!
I’m leaving my biggest sadness in this review section!

This review is for 74th location and Lexington Avenue. Why the hairdresser did a good job to my daughter’s hair. She took more than one hour to finish her job, and overcharged me for the time, saying is our policy to charge you with extended time, if things go over one hour. Something never clearly stated online. Called business, complained, she told me the manager will call back and they never did. this is the first time it happened. Be aware it happened in this location compared to the other blowbar locations in UES I have tried.

Had a great experience here! I've never done a blo bar / dry bar, but wanted to look nice for a wedding. Mika (potentially not the right spelling) was my stylist and I was super impressed. My hair doesn't really hold a curl but she styled it in a way that the curls and style held and looked great all day and through the end of the night. It even looked great after sleeping on it. Will definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised at the service! I had a young girl by the name of Victoria who had impeccable manners- I know my hair and it’s tough for me to trust anyone who does it. I made her do my hair 4 different ways. She never lost her cool and smiled throughout the entire process and kept asking me if I was happy with the result. Super disappointed in the blow out I had. The woman was new and it was incredibly awkward. I gave her a tip for the nice scalp massage but the actual blow out is flat and weird, no shape or definition to the waves. For “volume” she blew my bangs straight up, which just just making them fall weird on the side of my head now, but didn’t put any volume in the crown of my head. I don’t think they hire professional hair stylists. I also don’t think she used the conditioning treatment listed in my appointment. This place is the equivalent of going to a shady nail salon where you’re being rushed in and rushed out by people who may or may not know what they’re doing.

Always have a great experience here! I have long thick curly hair and my appt requires extra time but Hanna always takes care of me, doesn’t make me feel rushed and does an AMAZING job.

I expected good things based on price. Every curl fell out in 5 minute walk back to apartment even though I’d said yes to product and hairspray. I would have appreciated some warning that it was likely.

If I could give this business 10 stars, I would!  I was in NYC for my son's wedding, and I was nervous about doing my hair myself.  My daughter-in-law tried them out for a blow out, was satisfied, and I felt confident in going there.
From start to finish they were professional and very kind.  It was 11:00 am and I was worried about my hair holding for the 4:30 pictures, the 5:00 wedding, and the reception following.  They gave me the option of coming back at 2:00, dressed and made up, so that my hair would be all set.  I didn't really like that idea, so they devised a way to keep my very fine, somewhat curly aging hair in place.  Two women (I'm sorry that I don't remember their names) spent loads of time on me and really seemed to care, and when it was finished, it was gorgeous! Although it was a very windy day and we took pictures outside, my hair stayed in place all day and well into the evening.  I got more compliments on my hair than I did on my dress, and I only wish that this salon was closer to my home.
I am truly grateful to these hard working women who know their craft and care about their clients.  Kudos!
