The Dry House

We had two girls from The Dry House come out to our wedding venue to do my hair, along with the hair of my 5 bridesmaids. They did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job not only giving us each a unique style, but also making a style that fit each girl perfectly. The were very professional, timely, and fun to work with, and I highly recommend them for a wonderful experience!

The absolute worst blow out I've ever ever had. Not only did my stylist burn my scalp with her hairdryer the entire time but I could not believe what I walked out with. I asked for light beach waves and showed my stylist a photo of what my hair has looked like before with beach waves and she said she could do it. I walked out with a matted mess of curls that had my family and friends laughing at how ridiculous I looked. What a waste of time and money. (See below for photos)

While visiting from out of town I decided to visit Dry House for my first blow dry bar experience. It was a great experience. The staff was nice and the blow dry was so relaxing. I loved my style. I went with a curled style and it was perfect. I will be going back next time I am in Nashville.

I have tried many places in and around Nashville many years prices range from $100-$300, yet nobody ever done amazing hair blowout and style as Joshua and Ali did. And Ali did my haircut last week and she did an amazing work. She listened carefully during consultation and really provided haircut and style the way I wanted. I understand it’s not easy to make everyone happy, but that’s the beauty of offering Services by trying the best, following up and acknowledging the mistakes and providing as best as you can. They have been really nice to me and prices are reasonable.

My bachelorette party made an appointment here over 2 months ago - I have obsessed over the Dry House brand for years and followed them from afar. To say I was looking forward to this appointment is an understatement! Myself and another girl in my party had Alex. She was incredibly rude, did not speak to either of us & distracted with the other employees in the salon. I am incredibly disappointed after driving over 5 hours for my most anticipated activity that this is how we were treated. The rest of the staff was amazing, so sweet, and welcoming. The staff did comp my blowout after I voiced my concerns - which was beyond the call of duty and the reason for my 2 star review instead of one. I just wanted to leave a review and let anyone know who may be coming from far away.

Waxing The City

Waxing the City is by far my favorite salon in the area. The staff is very professional and personable. Brooke was my waxer and was fantastic! Brooke always made sure to take the time to educate me on proper skin care for before and after your appointments to be able to achieve the best results for future appointments. I highly recommend Waxing the City!

Randomly closed??? Tried calling multiple times, and then just drove by to see if I could do a walk-in appointment (totally fine if they were booked, nbd) but the door was locked. This was on a Monday afternoon, so normal business hours. Kinda frustrating. Nothing on the voicemail about them being closed either.

**Update: the business called multiple times and texted multiple times from multiple phone numbers after I left this review to try to schedule me for later in the week. I however received services elsewhere.

I had Michelle! She was very nice very patient and attentive, their late policy is a little pushy so the couple times I’ve come and been late from work they were really nice about it and still allowed me to come. However my first experience was a little long about an hour, but very informative and very clean, and good enough. My second time however I booked 4 weeks after and there was a significant amount of hair leftover on the front that she did not get as well on the top and sides, she convinced me that the $10 bikini mask would be “life changing” but put it on and then immediately flipped me over without allowing it to dry. The mask did feel nice, but maybe not $10 worth of good considering a nickel size amount was put on and then immediately rubbed off. I sadly more than likely not be back or recommending it again unless somewhere else is booked. It was a nice experience as a first time customer, but the second time was just mediocre and $80+ that wasn’t worth it, and I still have to go home and clean it up myself.  She did explain that she won’t go over a place more than twice to get hair, but I’d rather her get the hair than just leave half of it there as I don’t have very sensitive skin, and that IS the service I’m paying for. I also was under the impression that I was supporting a nice women owned business, but it is indeed owned by a middle aged man, which was a bit odd to me. But to each their own. I am rating this based on my good first time and very expensive not worth it second time.

WTC is by far my favorite salon. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, policies are clear and explained, and the facility is kept clean and tidy. The staff is very professional and personable, and they do not pressure you into up-sales. I've seen several different staff members for waxing needs, and I've not had a single bad experience once. One thing i love and respect about the staff is they take the time to educate you on proper skin care for before and after your appointments to be able to achieve the best results for future appointments. I highly recommend WTC.

Michelle was my waxer and did a fantastic job! I get the Brazilian done, which is nerve wracking in itself, but she was very professional, knowledgeable AND comforting. This is my 3rd time booking with her and have finally found my forever person for this service. Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Drybar - Brentwood Hill Center

My hair was an absolute mess when I walked in. I was in such a bad mood that I forgot to rub in my concealer! The receptionist quickly got me seated and brought my choice of beverage (coffee with cream). I was met with pure kindness and grace. Alma did a fantastic job. She was gentle and skilled. I recommend the scalp massage add on. I highly enjoyed my experience and will be back soon! Thank you for making my day better!

I have some fine straight hair and no Dry Bar where I live.  Getting to have a great blowout is always a treat when I travel to a big city! My stylist  was fantastic and fully understood the assignment. My selfies don’t do it justice but I love the way my hair turned out!

I had a great experience w/Alyssa! This was my first time, and I was skeptical that they’d know how to handle my 4c textured/curly hair. Alyssa was great! Took her time and the scalp massage was chefs kiss!  I loved my blow out!

My hair is thick and curly.  I left the shop feeling like a million bucks.  I got the old fashioned style.  I enjoyed the styling and the elegance of the shop. I enjoyed sipping hot tea while getting my hair done.  It was wonderful.

Janelle is the best!! She takes her time and great pride in fulfilling the client’s desire.  She’s fun to talk to and the whole experience feels like the best self- care possible! I always love the finished look!

Adam is the absolute best! I come in completely stressed with 1000 things pouring out of my mouth, and suddenly I am loaded into a peaceful zone. Lol.  I have only seen him a few times over several months, and he remembered exactly what to do with my hair.  The BEST!!

Blo is the BEST! I’m sold on their excellent customer care and stellar service. The stylists are all talented and you can’t go wrong with the  package membership- it’s a great deal!

I had Crystal today and she was fantastic! I got the extra head message and it was definitely worth the extra. Thank you for doing a great job on my hair!

LOVE my hair after Amber works her magic!! The Blow Blow Dry Bar is AWESOME!!!! I'm part of their Mane Squeeze Membership Plan, which provides you with 2 blow outs per month; however, I typically go every week because I love how they make my hair look and feel.

I love this place! Monica does my hair almost every time and she is the best! It’s my favorite appointment of them all! If you want a beautiful blow out ask for Monica!!!!!

I had an event pop up and was so glad that Spencer and Merry were able to fit me in on such short notice! They fixed my root regrowth and got rid of all the brassy tones my blonde had taken on. They were both very sweet and always made sure I was comfortable!

I’ve been using Staley James at Hairbair for almost a year now and have always walked out with a beautiful head of hair.  Everyone there makes you feel welcome and cared for.   They also have great prices and great products.   I never have any issues getting in with Staley even at a last minute notice.   Definitely a five star treatment in my book!

The salon is beautiful and the employees are extremely well trained. I always leave LOVING my highlights. Merry has done my hair for years. She always delivers exactly what I want.

Barnette's Salon

I truly appreciate this salon so much! The service was outstanding and everyone was very kind. But more importantly, they respected my religious restrictions and created a divider to allow me to get my hair done. Moreover, they even had females holding the towel up when they shampooed my hair in case anyone can see from afar. I truly appreciate them so much and will definitely be returning. Thank you, Amelia and the whole team, y’all are amazing.

Amelia was the best hairstylist I have ever used. She captured the look I wanted perfectly, listened to my concerns and gave me amazing tips on how to maintain the health of my hair and how to style it. I would recommend her to anyone who has a need for a new stylist. I will be taking my entire household to this salon.

So we have been out of power since this morning. I couldn't imagine how to use the hairdryer and curling iron without any power at home. Not sure when the power will be back, I called the salon nearby and checked if they have any openings.

Praise the Lord, I was able to get an appointment at this salon. My hairdresser (Gaddy? Hope I spelled her name correctly 😂) was professional and good at communicating with her customers. And the most important of all is that this salon follows the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 very well (which impressed me a lot!)

I enjoyed their service (the greetings, free beverage, the clean environment, spacing out the customers, shampoo massage, hair products, hot towel...,etc) so much. There wasn't anything that I could complain about. I have been to several salons in Jackson, and this Barnett's salon is the best salon in town! Why didn't I visit them earlier? The entire service I received was definitely 10 out of 10❤️❤️

Taylor completely rocks. Plus I missed my appointment right before she had her baby which means I had to get my hair cut at a place that pretty much sucked. Reagan filled in and was freaking awesome.

Had a regular haircut today with Nicole, and as always, it was great!! I’ve been going to Barnette’s for several years now. Lucy was just amazing, and when she left to be with her kids she connected me with Nicole who is just as great. She always gets my highlights just right… and I always get tons of compliments on them. Front desk staff is always friendly as well. Great place!

Peach Purrfection Wax Studio LLC

My experience was amazing! Tandra did a full Brazilian in only 12 minutes and did not miss anything! The studio is clean and absolutely beautiful inside. Highly recommend!!

Such a great experience, better than any other place I've been to. Tandra puts you at ease immediately, and is done so quickly! Under 15 minutes for a full Brazilian. Could not recommend more!!!

I stumbled upon Peach Purrfection when someone mentioned it in a Facebook group I'm in and thought I would give it a try since it's pretty close to where I live and oh man I am so glad I decided to check this place out - I am not going to go anywhere else for waxing from here on out...

The space is cute and Tandra is so personable and nice to work with! I don't feel self conscious at all and the whole process is painless, quick, and effective.

Best service I've ever had.  Waxing studio is clean. Booking is easy. Owner is professional and explained step by step. I felt at ease. Would recommend 10 out of 10!

Great advice, took time to listen to what I wanted to do and what I wanted to achieve long term. Gave what he would do and options. Also some other recommendations for my hair type. Did an awesome color job, got my hair looks amazing, great hair cut, and scheduled for next appointment to put a treatment to help my hair with frizz and taming my curl. Then extensions….anyone wanting a great salon should go here!! Ben is BOM!!!

Ben is so awesome! He is very  professional and easy to work with. It’s always a fun experience when we (my husband, son and myself) have our hair done. He doesn’t rush and he’s a joy to be around.  His work is meticulous and we are happy when he’s completed our appointments! We love him and it shows he really has a heart for his profession and his clients. We’re always spoiled by him!

Megan is a breath of fresh air! I have been desperately searching for a good hair stylist to wrangle my hair and after years of searching, I found her! She is a delight and very professional! She does a fantastic job with all of the services I get and I always LOVE my hair! A+++

Mallory was super personable and made a great first impression. She gave me the perfect haircut and did a great job of communicating what she was doing and why. She asked a lot of questions about my hair care and give me a lot of pointers that were greatly appreciated. I’m excited to try the aveda night serum she sold me for my split ends. 5/5 experience and will definitely be back to visit her. Oh, I also had issues trying to book my appointment online and somehow the manager knew that and called me and got me in right away. Talk about wonderful customer service! Thank you!
