Most of the staff are very pleasant. Some are too talkative and spend too much time looking at products while they are scanning them, because they find them interesting. I often get double charged for an item so I always check my receipt now. And at this time stock is very low or out on a lot of items.

Just really going down hill in customer service all around. The employees are too busy chit-chatting to do their jobs correctly. the photo department can't keep orders straight and then still can't walk the photos to the front desk after "they couldn't find them". Super disappointed

The most truck-friendly Wal-Mart I've ever visited - there's even designated parking on the north side for maybe 15 trucks. I went inside to shop, and thanked several employees for giving drivers a place to park, and was told "We appreciate truck drivers", and that trucks are welcome to park overnight. I almost shed a tear. A stark contrast to many Wal-Marts across the country that are taking the opposite position, probably due to the small percentage of slob drivers that ruin it for the rest of us. This location is taking care of drivers - let's return the favor!

What I like is that it has parking for a big truck. If you park your big truck please be respectful. I don't want them to take this away from us. Great people inside. Nice selection of cheese. The baguettes are awesome. Angus beef, filet mignon, all kinds of fish. Thanks.

It's a great stop for truckers. Right next to a truck stop and they allow truck parking. They don't have Walmart's new microwave ready meals yet but the deli always has some great options

Professional Music Center

Great store, very helpful staff. I've been buying strings and getting minor service here for a while, and finally decided to buy a higher end acoustic.  Staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, letting me play any/every guitar they had, with no pressure whatsoever to buy.  As often happens, I had a couple guitars in mind but ended up falling for a different guitar once I tried them all in person.  I now have a Larrivee that I will play for years to come.  I highly recommend this shop.

I truly love this place. Trent Litten and his staff are very helpful. If they don't have it on hand they are more than happy to order it for you.

Whether you play Acoustic guitar, Electric, Bass? They have it. A wide selection and upstairs an Acoustic Guitar room for players with more experience and expensive taste.

Great guitar shop! Stopped in on my way through town needed a power supply and an adapter. Super friendly environment with a nice selection of gear to suit just about any needs.The dude even pointed out I had a mono adapter when checking out. This was helpful since I needed stereo saving me later frustration as I was able to grab the right one from them. Not only do they have the goods they were looking out for folks as well!

This is the best staff at a music store in my experience. They answered all of my newbie questions with zero judgment and bent over backwards to give me a good deal on the guitar I got. I could go on and on, but this should be your music gear go-to if you live close enough to the Des Moines Metro.

This is has to be the busiest WalMart in the state. Parking can be a difficult. It is pretty easy access off the interstate. Can be challenging to find an associate for help. They all seem to be in the self-checkout area.They have someone checking your receipt when you leave. I never stop though. They have cameras and associates watch as you check your stuff out. I never stop. I’ve used the curbside pickup and it was pretty fast. They usually have at least one option for what I’m looking for. Produce is pretty basic and not always the best selections.

I have never been treated so badly by a team lead! Was there Thursday around 530. And had a decent cart of things.  Waited in the self check outs and then after finally checking out. My bf was trying to use his 15 percent off coupon.  It wouldn't work. The cashier came over. Couldn't suspend my transaction so had to cancel it , she took me to her team lead.  All she had the audacity to say , many times,  you need to just go wait in the line. Said very rudely  I explained I already rung up everything, but it got voided , again she said you need to go wait in a checkout lane , if you don't like your job find another oe..  extremely rude!  Don't know her name but started with a C..  will not go back to that location. No reason to be disrespected, could of been more professional.. I was thinking of transferring to that location  but no thanks

my friend and i went there for a girls day prep trip and Timber was working the check out. She was amazing! usually people are sulky about self checkout workers but she made our day so much better from the amazing attitude she has! such a bright employee and it was much appreciated :)

They got me on 2 accounts! They never fix charges that they have charged the wrong card constantly!!!!! I have 1 leg and just had my big toe amputated and said I need to come into the store and they never have carts for me to use much less any one disabled!!!!

Very helpful Employees with great customer service. I’ve been to a lot of Walmarts and have not received customer service like I did at the Windsor Heights store, It also seemed pretty clean to me. I’ve seen a lot of other stores with trash all over the parking lot and trash inside the store and cluttered. That was not the case here.

O'Donnell Ace Hardware

I Love Ace hardware! It's a smaller more intimate environment and the customer service is unbeatable. I appreciate the employees knowledge and teamwork. O'Donnell Ace Hardware happens to be about a block away from my home and super convenient. The staff is more than happy to help you find what you need and I'm never apprehensive to ask for opinions or even how to do something. I'm never steered wrong and always leave a happy customer!

Very good store to go to for tools and home improvement stuff. The customer service here is very good with no complaints. I just got in and out with the supplies I've needed and then some, definitely coming back in the near future.

Great customer service.  Sam provided a lot of details regarding models EGO battery powered hedge trimmers and line EGO string trimmers.  I bought both.

Close by to my residence, and prices are not bad. Also friendly helpful staff.

It's smaller so, makes shopping easier plus staff is always available and helpful/friendly which you don't find in the bigger stores. So for most hardware needs I go there first.

Cappel's Ace Hardware

Great customer service. Went in there looking for a tap. They didn’t have it in stock. Was browsing their Stihl equipment. Gentleman was extremely knowledgeable and helpful on their equipment and different things to do to prolong the life of my equipment. I will definitely be purchasing items from them when I am in the area.

Had key made & it worked fine. 🚴🏼‍♂️✌️😷

Sales rep Joe was extremely helpful went out of his way to get me the information that I needed and I will be back to order the barbecue I was looking for

Great store to be a shopper, but terrible if you’re an employee. I recently left this store due to drama caused by another coworker that was newer than I was and the owner and manager sided with her when I didn’t start stuff, they don’t care about their employees at all and have no loyalty to those who work hard there. I moved to the norwalk store and was then let go for being sick. Terrible management and handling by owner🙄 Another employee I’m in contact with Aalto was just let go because of the same girl starting things with her.

Great Ace Hardware, as per usual! The employees truly care and try to help you with anything you may need, starting the moment you walk in the door. Are the prices the cheapest? Not always, but they tend to carry some premium products so their pricing isn't out of line. Plus, you're paying for convenience. I am always willing to spend more if it means I don't have to waste half an hour driving across town and back to save a dollar at a big box store.

Ace is the place!! If you feel like avoiding the big-box stores or just need something in a flash O'Donnell Ace hardware is the only spot you need. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and can help you find just the right items for your project.

Went online to find the bike lock I wanted, verified my local ace hardware had it in stock, then picked it up in minutes. Hassle free.

It sure would be nice if, on a Sunday afternoon, I could grab a weed trimmer and case of ice cold beer at O'Donnell Ace Hardware.

I recently went in for them to replace all four of my tires, we had some problems getting the appointment set in stone and that wasn’t anyone’s fault but technology, I finally get my car in and I wonder around the store as I’m waiting for my car to be done. After the service I check my receipt and they charged me for TWO warranty’s that were NEVER discussed with me (it literally says on the back of my receipt ‘our promise to you, we won’t over charge or do anything without talking to you about it first’ more or less) causing me to pay out an extra $100 and they didn’t even use the tires I bought offline so they almost charged me for another full set, will definitely be going elsewhere for car maintenance from now on

Always have what I need here. Today I came to find some Christmas presents for my son. And got everything I wanted and more.

This store has REALLY gone downhill.  It's difficult to find anyone to help.  At least until you go to the check out.  SELF-CHECKOUT! Because there is very rarely an actual employee working a checkout lane.  Instead,  they stand around the self-checkout area in groups of 4-6, playing on their phones.  On the rare occasion that they pay any attention to the customers,  its to stand over your shoulder as you do their job for them while they get paid for doing absolutely nothing!!!

This store deserves a 0 rating. They are severely understaffed. The cashier's are so slow it seems they are trying to get the shoppers to self check out so they won't have to do anything. There is practically no one on the floor to help customers, and if you are lucky enough to find someone they act they are too busy. Wal-Mart needs to shape up and serve the customer better

This is the best Wal-Mart that we have shopped. Today, there were SO many employees stocking shells, so many employees offering assistance, so many employees appearing to actually enjoy their jobs. This is the only Wal-Mart I ever want to shop.

I stopped in over the weekend because I was looking for Mrs. Meyer's Acorn Spice hand soap. I called the University location because they're closer to where I live, but the helpful woman who answered the phone, told me that the Beaver location was the only one of their stores that had this particular scent.

So, I headed over here but I couldn't find that scent. A young employee asked me if I needed help and I told him my plight. He checked and said they had six in stock somewhere in the store. He went to look for them. A short time later he came back with someone who I assume was the manager. He assured me they were looking for it. They just didn't know where in the store they were. After some time later he told me he couldn't find it but he offered to take my name and phone number and would call me if they found it. I thought that was very nice of him to do that. I've never had any store manager do that before. I was very impressed. In fact, when I haven't been able to find a product in most big box stores and ask an employee for help, they usually give up after 30 seconds and tell me they must not have it if it's not on the shelf and don't even check in the back for me.

But my visit wasn't a total loss because I found my all-time favorite Mrs. Meyer's hand soap there—the Iowa Pine scent. I felt like I struck gold. I have never been able to find any of the seasonal scents (which are way better than their regular scents) in any of the big box stores like Target. When I looked on the shelf here I even saw more seasonal scents than I've ever seen before. I was in hand soap heaven!

I was very impressed with how clean and bright the store was. They have a large selection of Yeti tumbers and coolers, too. I love this store! I wish I could give this review 6 stars. These guys know the true meaning of excellent customer service; something that is sorely lacking in most stores these days. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

An awesome neighborhood hardware store. They usually have everything I need. They are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Great people.

I bought my Ego mower here and had great customer service at the time of the sale and with a warranty issue

I am done ordering online from this company. Whenever it says so many of an item in stock, then
when order is completed and card charged, I get an email saying item is out of stock.
This has happened several times.

The staff was extremely rude and couldn't be bothered to help in any sort of capacity

Johnston Ace Hardware

The older man that works the cash register thinks it’s okay to call women with short hair “Sir”. Then when he knows he made the mistake, doesn’t apologize. He just grins. It wasn’t clear to me if he thought he was funny, or if he was just ignorant. Either way, it was hurtful and rude.  I would be willing to bet that he doesn’t call men with long hair “ma’am”! They clearly do not teach customer service or how to actually be helpful in this store. Also, the prices are unnecessarily high. Will not go back.

Never had any issues! Went to get coating for the Cornhole game I made for my bf and wasn’t even sure where to start. I had a product and the staff helped me took for it. He also provided other suggestions and was very knowledgeable. I was carrying my 2 year old and he carried my products to the cash register. Very friendly staff!!

Unmatched service, I am in there several times a week for service on chainsaws chains, etc.. They always get the project completed in a timely manner and communicate throughout.

Love these guys.  I hope this location stays open forever and ever. It's truly a great store.

As soon as you walk in, they ask if you need help.  I always need help, and they are lifesavers. Literally. They made sure I got the right WATT light for my aquarium so my fishes don't die.

Run away! They carry the brand of pool we wanted and love the pool but, this Des Moines franchise is very unprofessional and don't stand behind what they say.

First of all everything we agree to in our pool proposal didn't matter if they didn't put it into the contract. So multiple things didn't get done or were at an extra cost. And somethings in the contract they refused to do. Contract said they would put back any fencing they removed, they didn't and I had to have it reinstalled after they wouldn't. No temporary safety fence was installed during project even though it was in contract.

Concrete was done very poorly and we were overcharged. We were told we would only be charged for what was installed once final layout is done at a price of $21 a sf which is $4 over other professionals in the area. First they needed extra money in advanced of the pour for thick edge to create a wall around 2 spots. They only pour a quarter of what was planned. Poured almost 100 sf less of the slab we were charged for. They were going to pour  slab on bare dirt in a lot of areas. We got them to hold off on pour so we could get it prepped properly and run drain pipe outside of slab which they had just buried half way across the patio to be poured. After we ran plumbing and worked on moving a lot of dirt and rock and sent pictures to the foreman the said they would fix the rest. Some things they did some they didn't. Patio pitches the wrong way so nothing we can do next to removing and having someone else do it.

Charged us for pool permit and then had us pay and pull the permit with city and didn't give us a refund.

Pool lights were to include electrical and transformer which we did not receive transformer had to use our own and had to supply conduit and run it our self for bubblers.

Kept being told someone would be by for chemical start up and balancing never happened till it was time to winterize the pool. So for the month and a half it was open we had to do all water treatment.

Company has very poor in-house communication one person says it will be taken care of, while another says it's not included even when it is in the contract.

Posting this I will probably not get any warranty work if needed on pool but can not believe anyone would do business this way. After all was done I have heard stories from other pool companies while seeking a service provider of other peoples problems. Really wish somebody would have posted them. To save us this heart ache.

Before you spend over $90K on a pool project talk with installed customers not service customers.

Prompt, professional swimming pool contractor!  Delivered on-time project and continue to provide excellent service after the install.  Have now opened a full-service branch that can take care of all of your pool needs.  Highly recommended!

Shawn and his team installed ours 3 summers ago and we enjoyed working with them to build our dream pool!

I give 2 stars because our pool works. Otherwise they’d get one star. They were very hard to get in contact with & when we didn’t we never got a definitive answer & it would always be changing. They never finished the job as our pool was being installed at end of season. Come 2023 opening our pool we found they put a lock on our system to where we had control over nothing. They preach customers for life but only seeing negative reviews. As a customer who wants their backyard to look beautiful & be proud of. Consider another company due to premier being unable to fix & complete their mistakes leaving us with the final repairs.

not very efficient in working through paperwork and responsive on email. I also would watch out for their sales event.

i had revised my review, to 4s it looks like they improved and installation is on going so far experience has been good
