We used PuroClean when our daughter's house flooded.  The owner, Brad came out himself to access the conditions. He was very professional and personable. The company was very easy to work with and suited our needs on everything that we did  or did not need. I have already recommended them to a friend that lost her house in a fire.

PuroClean was hands down a class act organization, answering our call after hours and supplying our family with an air scrubber when we were in need. Brad, Colin, Carlo and Angie Gilmer were the best and we could not have remedied our situation without the timely help and assistance from the PuroClean team!

Allstate sent Puroclean and Mr. Dan to save the day! We had been dealing with Allstate and fighting for them to finish repairs connected to water heater damage sustained SIX weeks earlier. The first abatement team did not remove insulation and low-balled a quote for repairs. Our contractor could not work because of this. Finally we got Allstate to send a different abatement expert: Puroclean. They were friendly and caring. Mr. Dan was always a text or call away.
They did take a little longer than expected, and didn't clean the floors from all the sheetrock powder, but Mr. Dan ensured workers were working during the job, stayed in contact with Allstate, and sent a nice card with a personal touch afterward. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Orlando and Mike were so professional, polite and extremely helpful with all the questions I had. They were on time and got everything going to dry out our floors quickly! They have also been back daily to check progress and to make sure we didn’t need anything. I highly recommend PuroClean!!

Sears Garage Door Installation and Repair

Ray was on time and completed the maintenance check of the double garage doors very quickly. While I was glad he found that everything was in good shape, the $178 charges were hard to swallow for less than 30 minutes of service time. I know your flat fee is not time based but I am less likely to have you come out annually at that high price.  Overall, however, I appreciated that you provided next day, and very professional service, when I contacted you.  Paul

Great service!  Nick L. was my technician and he was very efficient, knowledgeable on installation and very polite. After everything was installed he walked me through the working of everything and even oiled my existing springs & cable. He cleaned up the area & removed all the old parts. I will be using this company for any future garage needs.

Ray was able to fix my broken garage door within 48 hours of the first call. We had already talked about replacing our old opener, so I asked about what they had available. He had a new opener with modern features available to install, and there was no pressure to do it on that visit, but we decided to go ahead with it.

He serviced our aging rollers and track that probably hadn't been touched for a decade. Friendly, answered all my questions, and cleaned up completely. Very satisfied, would recommend Sears and Ray to my friends and neighbors.

Cable snapped and we needed service right away. Sears Garage Doors had someone at our home within an hour. They followed up with texts and emails on technician arrival , service needs, estimate and invoice. The technician was knowledgeable and had the door up and running in no time. Highly recommend Sears.

My technician Robert arrived on time, explained to me my options, and efficiently fixed the problem.  I appreciated the text ahead of time letting me know who would be coming, and I like the 3 year warranty.  I had called a different place before this and the guy was a no-call no-show during his window.  Sears came highly recommended from other people in my neighborhood.

Our garage was destroyed in an accident that left everything looking like a tornado came through. Puroclean knocked on our door, and the first thing they asked after introductions was "is everyone okay?" That compassion didn't fade one bit in the months that followed as they handled everything from estimates, clean up, demo, and cataloging through insurance, permits, rebuilding, and inspections.

Their team of professionals worked quickly and did quality work that will last a long time, and looks beautiful! One of the best things, in my opinion, was being able to communicate easily through every step of the process. We knew what was happening when, and they even planned around a surgery I had in the midst of everything. They were great to work with and I'd have them back any time (though hopefully without a disaster next time!)

PuroClean of Des Plaines was efficient and thorough. Not a happy time to have to have a company come in and clean up our basement after the northwest side Chicago flooding on 9-11-22. Joe and Charlie were so pleasant and understanding throughout this painful process. Joe documented the damage throughly and communicated clearly. The company was super easy to work with. Puroclean of Des Plaines was a sigh of relief in the emergency event that happened in my basement. They responded to my house within an hour. They were quick and thorough with the whole process. PuroClean Disaster Mitigation

These guys were very professional. My wife and I just purchased a home and were unaware of a broken sewer pipe in the basement. Puro clean cut out and discarded the mold ridden drywall and thoroughly explained the steps needed to be taken to restore the room. Water had gotten beneath the vinyl floor and I was encouraged to replace the entire basement floor when only one room was affected by the water damage. We had gone back and forth for a bit and I did feel they were too pushy regarding this topic. Attempting to perform a much larger job than what was required for he remediation. I understood the logic, but I felt they didn’t have my best interests in mind. The entire topic was dropped once we found out insurance wouldn’t cover the damage. Aside from this the work that had been performed was great and the team was very efficient, polite, and professional.

PureClean is truly a trusted Professional company. I had mold developed in our home , the owner came with his Employie she inspected it , he provided immediate recommendation for the family safety , he contacted the insurance company and immediately started the work
I believe this company cares. I believe this company wants to do the correct thing and the right thing for its customers.
In addition for the repair aspect of the project, the company brought me general contractors that were extremely professional. They did a wonderful job in my basement and basically it was done in a very fast paced.
I am a business owner and also what I have viewed out of pure clean is the number one thing they care truly they care About the customers, safety health and getting back the condition of the home as it was and better.
Without any reservation, I would recommend them to my mother, my brother, my sister besides my friends believe me I tell you this company is the best I’ve ever had to use because of one thing they truly care that’s the difference

I came home to a broken water line and it was a disaster. I called my insurance company American Family. They recommended Pure Clean. I called Pure Clean and they were at my house  within an hour. They had 12 fans and 4 dehumidifiers with them. They proceeded cleaning the area up. It was on Friday, They came back on Monday and did the demo work on the damaged area. They were done in 2-3 days. No mess left behind. I would recommend to anyone to use this company. Very Professional. Very thorough. Rosh the Supervisor was awesome as was Jose one of the demo Guys. But all in all the whole crew was great. They are a amazing company!!!

Puroclean located at 12540 S. Holiday Dr. Alsip, IL, team provided TERRIBLE results. The work was intentionally delayed by this company. Date of loss was March 21, 23 and finally completed by this contractor November 2023. This company is representative of Poor communication, very poor workmanship, and intentional extended delays. Much of my personal time and money were lost because of this contractor. There was so much additional damage in the process of this contractor and his team working on the restoration. This is not a contractor I would consider for changing a lightbulb. They were paid a little of $44,000 and yet the workmanship is terrible from uneven drywall to cracked granite counter tops. Terrible experience.

Defender Steel Door & Window Company Chicago

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company has done nothing but lie and give me the run around! The ONLY good thing was the guy who installed it. He was SUPER nice and helpful!

I made the mistake of not thoroughly inspecting the door before paying because by the time I could look, they already had the person on the phone for the final payment.

Like 15 min after the guy left I realized there was a crack on the glass and scratches all over my door… not what I expected for over $4k.

When we agreed to use the company we were told 8-10 weeks because we have a VERY special order door. That was no problem. At week 12 I finally called and Pam said “it’s special order, they shouldn’t have told you 8-10weeks”. That’s all well and good, but they had and I had had NO contact to the contrary. So I said “had we been informed it would take longer we would have been fine, but there was no communication.” She just continue to argue with me and told me “two more weeks”.

At week 14 I called again and got the SAME run around and rude attitude from Pam. I did go kind of Karen, but we were now 4-6 weeks past the date. At one point I hung up because she was being SO hard to work with, but called back and apologized and was told she would get us a discount for the trouble, but it would be ANOTHER 2 weeks.

About a week later we did get the call to schedule and were so excited we didn’t think to ask about the discount. The man who did the installation showed up on time and was super nice! While he was installing, I pointed out what appeared to be a scratch. He assured me it was just from the plastic and he’d be able to clean it off.

When he was done I was rushed to pay and didn’t get to do a thorough inspection. About 15 min after he left I called Pam and informed her that there was a Nick in the glass and scratches all over. On an over $4k door that had been up for less than 15min, I expected it to be perfect.

She asked for pictures to be emailed as a reply to an email she had sent me, which I informed I hadn’t received. She provided me an email, so I sent the pics. The next day she emails me what she was supposed to send the day before and says I didn’t open it so it must have been in my junk. When I informed her that I never got it and asked about someone contacting us about the door, she said she made a mistake with my email address and Bob from service would call.

Here it is now a week later and NO ONE has contacted us. When I called today, Pam rudely said “I told the owners, he will contact you”. I said “right but I’m calling because you said that a week ago and still no one has contacted us”. To which she said “everyone is gone for the day, I’ll bring it to his attention first thing in the morning”.

So now this company lied about how long it would take, gave us the run around, didn’t give us the discount they said they would, lied about who was informed, and is giving us the run around on getting it corrected.

AVOID THEM! I’m doing everything, since installation, in emails as well because I have a damaged $4k door that the company appears unwilling to do anything about.

Love my interior and exterior door couldn't pick out anything better. They looked so good the house look even more and more richer. Thank you for all the work that you have done defense are still doors and windows. Also the young man that came by and did the job fantastic young men.  Knows exactly what hes doing very pleasant. Also thank you so much a guy continued the bless you and your workers. I have read other people remarks about their doors being rested out after one year. I hope you still Honor the lifetime warranty that you talk to me about. If not please give me a call that's Explaining in more details.

On March 7, 2023 I made a down payment of 300 for a window. Bill came to my property twice prior to installation. Today April 11,2023 Steve came without the proper tools to install my window. I told him to leave. I asked if he could come back later. He said he had his tools inside another truck. If it was possible to come Thursday. I told him no. Update Steve came back and installed my window. I called and spoke to Angie and Pam. They contact the installer. He was able to complete the work today. I’m pleased with the owner from Defender Steel Door. We spoke and we both agree that sometimes things happened. Thank you sir for showing up and having a respectful conversation.

I purchased 2 doors early spring of 2022 the cost $5,000 and in less than a year these doors are starting to rust in several places. I called customer service and was told to lightly sand paper the door and paint the area. This is totally unacceptable    After my initial contact, A represinetive by the name of Pam later called and asked me to provide pictures.  I sent immediately to her, It's been a week I have not heard anything from Pam since, I sent follow up emails and phone calls no reply.  The previous doors I purchase from Sears 25yrs ago the cost no where near they did not begin to rust till year 20 this company does not stand by there product. To avoid an unpleasant experience,  Save yourself TIME and MONEY shop somewhere else.

My experience with Defender was great! I initially spoke with Pam to schedule my consultation. Very easy and convenient. Neil came to do the consultation. Excellent! We
went over the various options and the process of ordering the entry door. As I did my research with other companies Neil kept in touch and was open to any new questions I had. Once I decided to order the entry door with Defender, Neil was patient with me when I changed the style of the door from the consultation. Geoff came and installed the door. Very nice and did a great job. I will definitely use and recommend Defender in the future. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about Paul Davis Restoration. After meeting some unscrupulous contractors, my insurance company recommended Paul Davis. Once I met Derek, I was immediately put at ease and knew I was in good hands. Derek was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly trustworthy. Derek exemplifies the true meaning of providing customer centric service. Derek was very accommodating and listened to my concerns about mitigation equipment and providing a timeframe of each arrival. Derek always provided next steps and there were never any surprises. Derek called each morning to check-in. Derek made an introduction to our project manager, Louie who was equally professional and wonderful. Louie showed up each day and physically checked each piece of equipment and moved things as needed per the moisture readings. He always kept me abreast of his findings and we always felt like we knew what was happening at each turn. Our mitigation team was also exceptional. They were extremely diligent and hardworking. They cleaned up after themselves and we couldn’t have been happier with how tidy and neat they were. I have even raved to my friends and family with how impressed I am with Paul Davis Restoration. When your whole life turns up side down, it is so nice to have a company like Paul Davis Restoration that knows exactly what is required to mitigate the damages and makes a terrible situation so much better.

Working with Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling has been an incredibly positive experience. We typically do not leave reviews; in fact, this is a first. My condo flooded in September 2022 and I had severe water damage to both my 1st and 2nd floor!
The Paul Davis team was responsive from the moment I spoke to them on the phone while other companies told me it was days before they could come out!
Juan and the clean up crew did an amazing job cleaning up and drying the water.
Brandon, Justin and Tyler were there throughout the reconstruction process which took 6 months.

Last summer when my condo caught fire, I was completely devastated. Thinking it would never happen to me, I barely knew anything about restoration. That’s where Justin came in and brought a lot of light to my situation. He explained everything in great detail, expedited many processes, helped me choose the best products and solutions and on top of that, CARED. He truly cared for my well being and for everything to wrap up smoothly without any added stress to me. The process was long and he exceeded expectations every single time. We contacted Paul Davis after finding water dripping from our basement dry-walled ceiling. It turns out our dishwasher was leaking and we didn't know how long it had been happening...A team was to our house the morning after I called and the work began immediately. Our project managers, Derek for the water mitigation team and Justin for the remodeling team, were both very professional, responded to questions quickly, and had great communication throughout the project. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to get the appropriate workers to the house for each step of the process. The crew from Paul Davis as well as the subcontractors for the remodeling were all considerate of our space, knowledgable and efficient. Tyler did a great job with the trim work and all is looking back (or better) to the original condition.

Florida .  Chad Holland and Jim starwalt (Milwaukee ) and Blake (fox valley ) were incredible in assisting us in the worst of times . Sanibel was cut off from mainland as the bridge collapsed so those 3 went above and beyond to coordinate getting equipment and people via boat over to assist our cleanup . It was an extremely challenging job . Chad , Blake and Jim communicated with our association and owners to mitigate and keep mold out of our complex . 5 star job ! Thanks PD

Beyond happy with my new roof. Crew was professional, respectful, skilled and spotless clean up after ward. However the real spotlight here is PDR and my rep/Reconstruction Estimator, Ryan....he went so far above and beyond with the job, like dealing with a thirdparty (solar company who was less than cooperative), and helping passed normal job requirements would cover. THANK YOU!

I am the biggest fan of Lavell and his team at Paul Davis Restoration of Lake County. We had not one, not two, but three totally random and unrelated water events in our house in 2023. (Burst pipe in the basement, different burst pipe from a water filter in our kitchen, toilet on the 3rd floor spilling down to the 2nd floor.) Boy was I happy to have these guys helping me. I've also recommended them to neighbors who have been pleased. The team communicates well, they show up when they say they will, they leave the place clean when the leave each day, they respond to feedback and requests, they even gave me helpful suggestions for how to repaint the basement to make it look more modern. I have total confidence in these folks. They know how to mitigate water damage and to prevent mold. Preventing mold is the most important thing you can do when you've had a water leak. Call these folks right away, right away, and they will move mountains to get to you and dry out your house so you don't develop a mold issue. Whew! I cannot thank them enough for their great equipment (if you've never seen the wild stuff they use to save a hard wood floor, you'd almost ENJOY watching the process), their attention to detail, their willingness to get the job done quickly, and their communication. They rebuilt some custom made bookshelves along an entire wall, working from pictures, and I think they look as good or better than the original. Also, they worked well with State Farm, which was involved in the burst pipe issue. Please note that you want the Lake County folks. All Paul Davis are not the same. I'm sure others are good, but we had the best experience with this specific team. Shout out to Picasso & team for their painting & support, as well as to Lavell. Also, the cleaning crew was particularly cool. They did a great job AND they were delightful. One last thought....it's a little unnerving to have people in your home when you can't supervise them directly the entire time. We had no issues with them being in our house. Nothing was ever missing. Our home and our belongings were treated with respect. We felt okay with them in the house with our teenagers and our pets. All around, we're highly satisfied with the Paul Davis Restoration of Lake County and give them two thumbs up!

Perfect quality, made an estimate and they stuck to it. No surprise payments for final payments. They had a budget and stuck to it. Workmanship by George was great, and management by Tim was always responsive. They are always available to take your call and touch base.

Paul Davis Restoration has  excellent follow through, great communication, and provides a clear understanding of the progression of the project. They are one of the most highly organized companies I have ever dealt with.  I have had the pleasure of working with Jim and Anthony, and both are stellar!
