I did a quick breakfast here before I hit the road for a trip. This is a cute little restaurant right outside of Charlotte. The service was impeccable. I love the home vibe. The food and coffee were delicious. I had the basic flip side breakfast. Definitely worth a visit.
The good: everything
The bad: couldn’t finish eating it all
Stopped in here two days in a row because the food was so good. The Flipside breakfast is an easy go to. Try with wheat bread if you like to dip your build and egg sandwich. Eggs were great over medium, over easy and scrambled. The cheese grits have great flavor and so does the gravy that comes with the biscuits. The bacon was great and even it was overshadowed by the flavor of everything else. The quality of food here is that good!
If you have a sweet tooth you MUST try the cinnamon crunch waffle. Tons of flavor but balanced and not overwhelming.
Will be back to try everything else including dinner.
First stop in while passing through on a business trip. Stopped in right at opening for breakfast....
Up front, the food quality and ingredients are top shelf and the chef team are killing it!
I was impressed with the creative menu options (what drew me in) and the flavors didn't disappoint. I'll be even more adventurous next time and try the shrimp n grits or lobster omelet.... but this time I had biscuits and gravy and hash and eggs which are some of my favorite dishes.
The biscuits and gravy were stellar...top 3 I've ever eaten... that gravy!! Just bring me a bowl of it!! Surprisingly the ham tasso really perfects it ... well that and its well seasoned!
Yes the biscuits were good to of course! And fresh!!
The hash was really good too...pork was insanely tender, chock full of fresh veggies. The eggs were over cooked a few levels but it didn't detract from the taste even a little.
I love stopping in local places, not just because they deserve our support, but they can surprise you with their sophistication and excellence!!
Our breakfast here is always delicious and we always have great service. Our server today was Justin and he is very attentive!!! He made me the perfect iced coffee!!
When visiting family in the area for Thanksgiving, we were looking for some place to eat the night before. This topped the list and I was told it was some of the best food that could compete with NYC and other large cities. My brother said they usually go on Sunday for the brunches that are crowded, so we called to see if we could get a reservation. They were not crowded and we sat down with 8 people. Started off with a hazy pale ale to go with the crab cakes and truffle fries. These crab cakes stand up to the ones I have tried in Maryland. For my dinner, I went with the Lockport NY Beef on Weck that was on a small bun, but came with a punch from the horseradish and a side of greens (one thing I miss about living in the South!). If you are not into greens, get the sweet potato fries that have a sweet brown sugar taste. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals and we had enough to take home to other family members that did not join us. It is some of the best food and I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. Don't be turned off by the strip mall feel, because you will be surprised with excellent food and service that is Southernly.
