It’s so nice to have a yoga studio in the Harris Ranch area! Studio Lotus’ New Bown Crossing Location is lovely. The teachers are terrific and I’m looking forward to trying all the new classes they plan to add!
Erika has created a phenomenal space, with various offerings. The instructors are wonderful and mindful of any physical limitations one might encounter, assisting in modifying your practice and cultivating a peaceful atmosphere for success.
Studio Lotus is my favorite place to practice yoga in the Treasure Valley! Both locations (Downtown Boise + Bown Crossing) are gorgeous, up in the tree canopy, with huge windows overlooking the mountains. There's no snobbery - every class is a mix of regulars, dabblers, and visitors. Super easy to just drop in! So many good classes: I swear I learn something new about myself every time I practice with Jackie, and Justina's classes are like free therapy. All of the early morning options are great for folks with office schedules, with bonus views of the sun rising behind the foothills!
Lotus always seems to have its logistics/admin in order, which makes the experience seamless. (Somewhat rare in the yoga community!) One quick note: Both studios are on upper floors of shared buildings, and their entrances are not exactly where the address indicates. Downtown has most of its parking toward the Washington Street side of the block, with a shared entrance in the ground floor carport. The Bown Crossing location is essentially above Flatbread, but the Lotus entrance is on the BACK side of the building, which you can only access from the parking lot off of Riverwalk Drive. Once you get there, you can't go wrong!
If you are traveling through Boise and want to take a yoga class, DON'T go here. They charge high drop-in rates and then they charge you $5 for a mat rental on top and you are paying to clean it yourself after class! I pay the same price for a drop-in rate on the East Coast and I don't pay for mat rentals there. I think Studio Lotus Yoga pricing is unfair and if I return to Boise I'd go to the Yoga Tree of Boise where the drop-in rate is $13. As for the actual class, it was fine. Taylor had interesting transitions but it wasn't a challenging flow.
I did a “Slow Flow” with Erika truly an excellent class!
Erika does an exceptional job of dropping you into the present before moving you through a flow linked with breath. Continually encouraging you modify to meet your personal daily needs. I’d highly encourage anyone to add this class in their yoga journey.
I love the studio and the community around it - Namaste
