The only saving grace to this place was the location, nearest the airport? I don't know about gouging but I paid $5.99 a gallon. The main reason for my rating is that it too about 15 minutes to pump in less than 5 gallons of gas and when I started smelling a stronger smell of gasoline than normal, found that the pump had not stopped when full. I estimate about 1/4 to 1/2 gallon spilled to the ground since the auto stop did not work. Moreover, the receipt did not print, and therefore had to waste even more time waiting in line at the register.
The reason this particular station? $6 a gallon? $7 for premium. I got like two. I drive for a living. I get a tank of gas every day. I paid $3.04 elsewhere. As others have said, they are definitely price gouging here. I don't even agree with price gouging as a general economic principle, but this is outrageous. I bought like 2 gallons and went on about my life.
I'm completely disgusted with this business. Never have I seen such obvious price gouging. The owner(s) are a disgrace and are taking advantage of travelers. This really makes me sick. On 11/27/23 I chose to fill up my rental car's gas tank; based on convenience to the Phoenix Airport Rental Car Center. As soon as I pulled up to the pump, I regretted that decision. At that time, it was too late to fuel up at one of its competitors. I paid $5.99 gallon for 87 octane gasoline. Since filling up at Shell I have done searches on other stations in the same area. The other filling stations were all far below $4 per gallon. Never again will I fill up any gas tank at a Shell station. They lost a customer for life. I will be filing a complaint with AZ Attorney General's office. Congratulations!

$5.99 is gouging and obviously Shell Corporation is NOT genuine about making things right. Months have gone by and the situation has not changed. As I found out yesterday. Stay clear of this location and possibly other Shell stations.
Utterly ridiculous gas prices. If you need to return your rental car, please go elsewhere. These guys are absolutely gouging customers based on the proximity to the Rental Car Return Center. $5.99/gallon Sunday when all reports in the area are sub $4. You have been warned!
