Celebrated my son’s birthday here. Called ahead for a table, but it wasn’t busy when we arrived. Service was friendly and informative. Tried a wide variety of items on the menu. Everything was great. It’s definitely not the Americanized sushi joint from the burbs, as they offer quite a few more authentic items and ingredients. The prices reflect being in downtown St Paul, as we expected, but the service and quality made it more than worth it. Will definitely be back!
One of the best meals I’ve had since being here in St. Paul. I’m from California ( Los Angeles) and I was looking for something comparable. This place did not disappoint. Tasteful sashimi and great service
I'm a sushi noob and I don't know anything about it. However - that damned "spicy salmon avocado cut roll" they serve there is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Stupidly delicious.
I've eaten some of their other stuff and it tasted good, but I'm not adventurous. Their tuna was delicious, salmon also, but really nothing I had was as good (for my palate) as that silly spicy salmon avocado cut roll. But you know what? Do you wanna go someplace where everything is good (which is here also) or do you want to eat one thing that is so good it's worth the trip?
Due to covid I wasn't here in a few years. Mistake. Goto damn Sakura and order the SSAC roll. If you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. Don't order hand roll, just cut roll. Goto Sakura.
The first place I ever had sushi about 30 years ago ( when they were in Galtier) and still one of my favorites. The chefs are true pros. When you order Ama Ebi and they automatically include the heads, you know they’re the real deal. Probably been here at least 75 times over the years, and I’ve never been disappointed.

The food is mediocre, not bad but won’t blow your mind. Rolls are hit or miss but bento box was tasty.
