Clean, friendly environment! Our waiter was very kind and knowledgeable of menu. The Sangria was refreshing. I ordered the All You Can Eat Shrimp with a side salad. The side salad was fresh and just the right amount. Next as an appetizer we had Crabby Cheese Fries, they were worth a try, but not something I would personally order again. The shrimp was delicious they were out of Tequila Lime Shrimp so I ended up getting Crispy Dragon Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Grilled Shrimp Skewer, Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, and Walt's Favorite Shrimp! If you enjoy a little kick, try the Crispy Dragon Shrimp. If you want something that is simple not buttery, nor greasy the Grilled Shrimp Skewers are delicious simply delicious. Also, if you’re a coconut lover like me try the Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp,, I get these every time!

I don’t expect a lot from the food bc we are in iowa and it’s a little unrealistic to think that it’s not going to be frozen but the calamari was freezer burnt. The server was great though. I went to the restroom before leaving and trusted my kids wouldn’t cause too much trouble looking at the lobsters. I came out and Mike was getting a lobster out to show my kids. What an amazing experience for them!! They didn’t stop talking about it all night. Awesome job Mike!

Decent seafood for the Midwest. We usually stop a couple times a year, but go early for dinner as gets so busy. Service was great. Enjoyed taking home some extra cheddar bay biscuits.

My husband and I went out to eat at the Ames Red Lobster on Dec 24 for Xmas and our 15th wedding anniversary. We saw our waitress just to order. We were in a booth right by the kitchen door, and could hear her laughing and talking the whole time. The food was horrible. We've been to Red Lobster a lot so we know how stuff normally tastes. We both had the shrimp pasta but the shrimp had tails and the pasta sauce was the consistency of paste. We both had shrimp scampi and there was barely any sauce and the shrimp were rubbery. All of our food was half cold, even the plates were room temp. When we wanted to pay and leave, our check didn't show up on the machine at our table. We waited 20 minutes and finally my husband got the hostess. We could still hear out waitress talking and laughing. The hostess had to fix our receipt because it was at the wrong table. Our waitress finally came out as we were leaving but didn't say anything. We planned to do some shopping but went home because I got very sick. I sent Red Lobster a message on Facebook and was ignored.

I've never gotten crab legs that were too salty to eat until this trip. Even the replacement batch was hardly edible. There probably isn't a lot the staff could have done to avoid that happening but it was disappointing. The service was great though and everything else was pretty good.
