My daughter has a planet Fitness membership for when we travel. We had to travel from Long Island to Athens Georgia for a family emergency so we were using planet Fitness to shower only. One of the guests bullied me over a disability issue and because we are disabled. The staff did nothing. One of the staff, Billy, gossiped to this person about me and then spread it all over the place. There are water problems when you try to take a shower, the showers run cold when someone flushes a toilet which is illegal and violates code, and you have to run more than one shower to heat up the showers enough so that you can take a shower. Billy harassed me one night about running more than one shower at a time to keep the showers hot and shut off the showers which left my daughter with a cold shower. She is disabled and medically fragile.
But the worst was when an employee named Emily started screaming at me because I had parked my SUV and trailer at the curb so my daughter could run in to use the bathroom. We sat at the curb for a couple of minutes and my daughter, who has autism, had some difficulty organizing herself. So she went back and forth to the trailer a few times to get what she needed. I only parked the vehicle at the curb because the parking lot was so full that we would have to have walked in about 20 or 30 cars to get to planet fitness. Usually, we come when it's less crowded and I'm able to park a little closer using two spaces. When we shower I never park at the curb, I park further out and just walk in despite my handicap license plates. Planet Fitness has no space for long disability vehicles like vans.
Emily was hot under the collar and started yelling at me and then eventually screamed at me so loud that my daughter, who was in the handicap stall in the locker room could hear her all the way across the club. But the funny thing is that she couldn't hear my voice because I only raised it slightly in response to Emily's refusal to reasonably accommodate myself and my daughter. We are both disabled and due reasonable accommodations under the Americans with disability act. Emily kept on and on and I finally told her to call the police. She knows them well because she dates a cop who frequently will spend a couple hours at a time in the club hanging out at night with her. She didnt call the police
My daughter cannot go into the club without a caregiver and I'm her caregiver. By banning me from that club, planet Fitness has effectively banned my daughter but they are still billing her for her membership.
This is on the heels of a planet Fitness in Selden New York cancel my membership because one of their employees screamed at me when I asked them to plug in something. It didn't matter that they plugged in everybody's phones for charging but this guy got really nasty at me and I stood up for myself. Obviously, when you stand up for yourself, despite planet fitnesses whole agenda against bullying and body-shaming etcetera you no longer belong at planet Fitness.
Planet Fitness doesn't want to give reasonable accommodations, it doesn't want to accommodate disabled people, it doesn't want to live up to all the hype that it posts on its walls about no bullying, it doesn't want to discipline members who bully other members and most of all it does not fire its employees when they bully guests, especially when the guests are disabled.
Aside from violating the Americans with disability act, this franchisee is owned by a company in Massachusetts. That means that they also violated Massachusetts state law regarding civil rights for disabled persons.
If you have any self-respect I would stay away from this club in Athens and I would stay away from the Planet Fitness chain.
All I did was park at the curb for about 35 minutes. I once saw one of their employees park at the curb for an hour and she told me she parked at the curb every time she worked there at night for six or seven hours. I bet they didn't ban their employee.
This is just a picture of my car and trailer taken while we were traveling on our way to GA.
Josh, Shannon, Kaitlyn make being a client there a Fantastic Experience 👏!
Clean, Never had to wait for a treadmill or bike. Love the Free Weights (I'm64).
Could use a Decline Bench, Curling Bench for free wright's. Love going to Planet Fitness, after being a member of Omni & Crunch where I became depressed and didn't want to workout anymore. Planet Fitness is by far the BEST GYM!
I joined this gym after moving here over a year ago. My employment moves me around a lot so I have the opportunity to compare this gym with other Planet Fitness. There are 2 areas of concern: The stairmasters stay broke and there is always an excuse for them not being repaired or replaced. The supply chain is not an excuse anymore because other Planet Fitness gyms repair their machines expeditiously. The second concern is the cleanliness of the men’s restroom. The young guys in the front simply hang out in the front but do not take any pride in cleaning the restrooms. Many days it is deplorable.
Great place, nice people and awesome equipment. Literally that one 30 min workout room can change your whole body’s physical appearance drastically!! This place is fun no changes needed!

Had a great time in the 20 minute area. It’s been a while but always enjoy how clean PF is. Not overcrowded either.
