Old Shawnee Pizza-Shawnee

Starting to wonder if one of our favorite pizza places cares about its product or service. It’s bad enough that you have to call in 3 or 4 times before anyone will even answer the phone to take an order. The website is hard to navigate. Tonight was the topper. Picked up our Tuesday special Large Pepperoni and it was overcooked, dried out and hardly edible.

Attended a party in the party room. Pizza and salad were excellent. I love the pizza crust style, thicker but still crisp. Also loved the garlic knots and the chicken wings were surprisingly fantastic! I especially appreciated having our own drink machine in the party room. Everyone had a great time. Definitely a great place for a party.

The pizza was very good and the mini was surprisingly filling. I didn't get a picture of the pizza, because I focused on enjoying it apparently, but I got a Pic of the salad and their house dressing. It was tastier than it should have been, their house sauce is bomb. The building is quite old, though I don't remember how old. When you go to the basement the wood paneling reminds me of the basement of my grandparents. I suggest stopping by for some food when you have a chance.

Good pizza in a typical pizza place atmosphere. I went on a Wednesday late in the afternoon, so I encountered not only the large crowd there for the two-for-one deal on medium pizzas but also the guy doing close-up magic. So if those elements aren't part of your ideal dining experience, maybe choose a different day or get take out. The pizza, on the other hand, is worth the price. Great flavor and good portion sizes. The service was friendly and efficient.

We had chicken alfredo and a pepperoni pizza. Both were very good. Our server was attentive, but wow her voice was so loud it was like she was yelling all the time. We liked the old style pizza pub feel here. Although this place is far from where we live, we'll likely return. UPDATE, we returned again on October 24, and we had the same server. She was excellent, and I'm bumping my Service stars from 4 to 5.
