The Maui Ki’ia Chocolate Estate was one of my favourite places to visit in Maui! I did the 3 piece flight with Sake and an additional 5 pieces for good measure. It was all so good, I wish I could have tried them all. Our server spent so much time with us and explained every detail of the chocolate process and pairings. To finish off the day, I had a cacao sorbet, it was so refreshing.
We did the tour with Shay, who did an amazing job! She knows the history of the company and was able to explain the entire farming process step by step and able to answer any qtwe had. Being a tour guide myself, I can be critical on a job well done. I highly recommend this tour and Shay as your guide. The tasting I. The tree house was a perfect addition to the tour.
We stopped in for a quick iced coffee and a cookie killing some time in the afternoon before dinner and they sent us upstairs. What a hidden gem. We had gone on the tour last year, but didn’t have much time to sit and enjoy this afterwards. We didn’t partake this time, but there are also adult beverages available. Great parking and everyone was super friendly.
We did not do the tour so I can’t provide feedback on that. We are locals and stopped by the store on a day trip to the west side. It is very clean and pretty on the inside. It really is a unique place and cool to have as part of our businesses here in Maui the prices are expensive but it is a one of a kind artisan experience.
I really enjoyed this chocolate. You can taste the care and attention to detail that went into producing it. I recommend the tour with tasting to anyone. If you can't make it to Maui, you can certainly order a sampler pack to try this delicious chocolate. It is on the expensive side, but it is produced in an ethical and sustainable way, which is a much more expensive way to produce chocolate.
