I had been traveling through the area recently and visited this facility less than a dozen times and was informed by the owner himself that I was making his “paying customers” uncomfortable because I was only using the restroom, stretching and had one workout. I have Silver Sneakers through my disability insurance that covers access to multiple gyms across the nation. Never have I been so disrespected and discriminated against by an owner. He disclosed that I accessed the facility “9 times” and since I was not the “home location” through Anytime fitness that HE and HIS facility were not getting paid for my access, the home location in Little Rock was receiving the payments. Due to the lack of profit he was receiving through my insurance he chose to ask me to leave which was completely inhumane. I had parked outside and slept in my vehicle presuming that it was a safe location for a female vagabond to sleep safely but apparently his patrons chose to classify me as a “homeless eye sore” because they weren’t getting paid directly for access to this particular location. As I explained myself I mentioned that I was pregnant, to which he responded, “you can tell.” He was extremely rude and mentioned that he was going to cut off the key card access to that location and I rebutted, “there’s no need, I won’t be back after being so highly disrespected.” I must also mention that I have been accessing gyms nationwide for nearly two years now and am always the type of patron that sanitizes the equipment, avoids interactions, is non-confrontational or combative and always considerate of the facility and those that frequent them. The fact that he chose also to reprimand me for eating a salad and wearing flip flops to use the restroom only contradicts the fact that they sell foods and drinks at this location. His lack of compassion and humanity was staggering but then again, “he wasn’t getting paid for my visits,” and individuals with a capitalistic mindset already know they don’t need to show compassion in order to manipulate others into financing their greed. Congratulations for the review and I do hope that next time you “remove someone” that you get to know them prior to demeaning their reality. I disclosed that I have been living out of my vehicle for over a year and a half, to which he quickly retorted, “if you haven’t managed to get your life together by now then this isn’t the place for you.” Not only did the owner discriminate against my homelessness, pregnancy and disabilities, he managed to expose his compassionless reality in the process of trying to belittle me. I wouldn’t offer any facility ran by arrogant, misogynistic money mongers my financial support and neither should anyone else that understands humanity and compassion. “It is a business,” after all or so the owner clarified. As nice as the interior of this facility was, I would never recommend that anyone step foot in such a dark and money oriented environment. Your health is Ian’s profit and he’s not interested in anyone’s health, both physical and mental, but he’s more than willing to accept you if you’re lining his pockets with financial gains.
Great gym for the size. The owner Lynn is always there until 7 unlike many of the other Anytime locations. She keeps it super clean, always talks to her members, and also listens to our opinions about new equipment. Also, it's not overly crowded which makes it a much better experience
No better than planet fitness and it’s 4 or 5 times the price so I really don’t see the point. The water fountain is gross and they charge 50 cents for water so you can either refill your own bottle at the gross fountain or pay for a water. They constantly hold classes at night in the only room where you would be able to stretch or do free weights and they do not consistently post a schedule as to when those workout classes take place. As a result, if you workout after work on weeknights, then you have absolutely no way of knowing whether you will have the room available to do your free weights and stretch.
I give 1 star because I’ve given them this feedback before and no action has ever been taken. They don’t seek improvement...you get what you get.
Excellent gym. Nice and clean. My only complain is your pec fly/rear delt machine. I've been in many other anytime fitness's and said machine, when in rear delt mode, never had as much slack as the one in your gym. There has got to be some kind of way to increase full range of motion and set machine on the last adjustable slot. Feel free to get back with me.
Very unprofessional with horrible communication. The owner of Anytime fitness in Bryant owns the NLR location. They closed without telling the members. Never sent an email. And I was still charged for the month of November. I will never use or recommend anytime fitness again.
