British Swim School at 24 Hour Fitness - Altadena

Miss Mai has helped my 3 year old granddaughter learn to love the water! She was very apprehensive when we first started lessons, but now she floats on her back and puts her face in the water. I highly recommend British Swim School’s staff and swim program!

Parking and facility very convenient.  Instructors are caring and able.

Kiddie Academy of Harrisburg

I HIGHLY recommend Kiddie Academy to any parent looking for excellent childcare. I have two daughters that have attended the center since it has opened and I have had nothing but great experience with the owners, director (Ms. Jen) and my girl's teachers. I have had my girls in many other daycare settings and none of them compare to the care my girls are receiving here. The facility is clean, everyone is so friendly and my daughter's needs are being met.

One of my daughters has special needs and they have been so accommodating and accepting of what she needs in order to be successful. Her therapists are welcome into the school and are able to provide her the services she needs as well. The owners have made my husband and I comfortable and have answered all of our questions and met our needs since day 1. Kiddie Academy is by far the best child care facility in this area.

This daycare has been fantastic for me and my child. My child is in the three year old room and learns so much. The teacher in the threes room is very good at what she does and has amazing lesson plans. My child truly enjoys this daycare. This daycare is focused on curriculum, which was super important to me, and in this room, the teacher delivers. She is always so warm and welcoming, very engaged and interactive with the children and has her room set up for success. I love that I have camera access and every time I go to check, my child is engaged and happy and the teacher is engaged with all the kids. I also love walking into the facility and being welcomed by the management team. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I would highly recommend this daycare! Best in the area after a LONG time!

This daycare deserves zero stars. They hyped this daycare as a curriculum-centric day care, a daycare that is known for its curriculum and lesson plans, yet every time I look at the camera, there are children, including mine, who are not engaged at all. The teachers allow the children to just lay there and not do anything all day. Why am I paying for my child to go to a daycare then? There are two-three teachers in the class and only one teacher is doing it all while the others just sit there. This place needs to hire better staff! This makes me wonder if management is even doing anything about this or even cares. My child is not learning anything but bad behavior in this school. In the previous daycares, my child has been engaged, active, learning to the fullest potential. We saw this daycare and knew the reputation it had so we decided to enroll our child in here and it was the worst decision we ever made. Go find yourself and your child another daycare! This place seems disorganized from management as well. I don’t see the director anymore so it seems like there’s a high turn over rate. I also see new teachers coming and going. Not a good look!

I understand that my kid can not get personal attention as there are other kids too. I believe if all the teachers in the class can have the same work ethics and care for the kids like the one teacher in my kid’s class, my opinion wouldn’t be this strong. I don’t see my kid doing any work book or doing any curriculum.

I do NOT recommend this daycare for children. The parents were promised better care and better education for the children as well as being promised lower costs for daycare fees. Their old director which they had fired in the first week was the only one who was truthful and HONEST. The real owners though? are very JUDGMENTAL and very insensitive ESPECIALLY when it comes to children with disabilities. There have been SEVERAL parents being questioned by the owners of Kiddie Academy as to basically why their kid has that disability and/or receive certain services for their children. I, myself was one of those parents. There was also a comment made by the owners saying that they would put all the children with disabilities in one room singling them out from the other “normal” children & not have them play as if they aren’t normal children.. The owners of Kiddie Academy are VERY insensitive and they don’t care about the children. They are more worried about the money going into their  pockets and not fixing actual problems. This place is just ridiculous. Even worse having several teachers quit in the first couple weeks of being open as well because of how it’s ran, and what’s being actually said behind closed doors. Do NOT send your kids here!

Absolutely horrible daycare, I worked here from opening and my son had attended as well. The owners are extremely disrespectful and just want your money. The constant  criticism and judgemental comments coming from the owners will overwhelm and drain you just how it did me. They even went as far as to telling me how to raise my son. 0/5 stars.

Tierra Encantada - Ford

My son has been at Tierra Encantada for 8 months, and has loved it! He has the biggest smile on his face at drop off and pick up and adores the teachers in YPA.

He says every animal he sees in Spanish, and is learning more every day to the point where he’s teaching me Spanish!

We've referred a family friend and would definitely recommend Tierra Encantada to more families!

Our daughter started at Tierra Encantada about six months ago, and she LOVES it. I was pretty nervous for her to start daycare because she had been bottle hesitant, but the teachers are amazing. Somehow, they got her to take her bottle, and within a week, she happily too a bottle with no issue at each feeding. So glad we decided to go with Tierra Encantada!

Tierra Encantada is our son’s second home! Nicolas feels loved, has lots of fun, eats healthy food, and learns every day! He not only loves his teachers, Ms. Macarena and Ms. Maria, but also the entire TE community and his friends! He started 6 months ago at TE only speaking Portuguese, but now he also speaks Spanish and English! We, as parents, really appreciate the school’s curriculum and the fun, warm, clean, and beautiful environment. Our son is always happy to go to school, and that means everything to us! Gracias, Tierra Encantada!

Tierra Encantada is a truly special place where you feel like you can trust each and every person to truly care for your child. We have an infant who is in a small class room and receives a ton of attention all day long! The food is excellent for our child, too! The best thing about Tierra Encantada are the people. The teachers are thoughtful, attentive, and give the little ones so much love; and the staff is always extremely supportive and responsive. We feel like our baby is in an extension of our home 

I am the grandparent of a little boy treated callously by people both at Tierra Encantada’s Alexandria Ford franchise and the Minnesota corporate office. With direct knowledge of a situation that our family found to be painful and frightening, I am compelled to address the response to the review by the child’s mother, “Integrity Matters.” First, the reviewer did not allege maltreatment. Rather, she became seriously concerned when school personnel seemed to be hiding something from her that was captured on a video. Second, it was the child’s parent, not the business, who contacted the state licensing agency. Third, after viewing camera footage (a clear video, not a grainy, distorted version as the parent had been shown), the inspector cited Tierra Encantada for safety violations. She describes observing multiple children (specifying that the reviewer’s child was not one of them) engaged in unsafe behavior in the indoor gym, while four staff members present did nothing to intervene. The inspector’s report is public information. It is available on the Virginia Department of Social Services website, where Tierra Encantada Ford is listed under its business name, Alexandria Day Care LLC.

Meanwhile, when the three-year-old asked his mother repeatedly why he could no longer go to his school, she tried to explain what had transpired in a way he could understand and would cause him the least additional hurt. He told her, “No, no, Mommy. I wasn’t hitting my head. I was pretending to be a pachycephalosaurus.” The little boy loves dinosaurs and knows their different traits. He had been imitating a “Baby Pachy” cartoon toddler song on YouTube.

Tierra Encantada could have been the kind of place the company’s marketing, and a response to Integrity Matters’ review months later, profess it to be. The actions of people in charge, however, both at this franchise and in the Minnesota corporate office, speak louder than their words.

My son is a drummer and joined to apply his years of lessons into a real band situation that the other music lesson place did not offer. He LOVES it. Staff are fantastic and he has made some great friends here too! Highly recommend.

Our child is thrilled going to DC School of Rock. Now he wants to go every day. The attention that he gets is unbelievable. Thank you so much to Chris and his team for delivering marvelous experience for our kids. Keep up the great work!

Beware! While the program might be interesting, the Cleveland Park location is poorly run and it will bring you more headaches than benefits.

Owner contacted me about working there, was rude and inconsiderate on the phone.   Very disappointing.

The best music school ever. I would give 10 stars if possible. My daughter started because she was a very shy kid and all attention and care of the teacher made her a much more happier and self-confident child. Music can make magic on someone life. Now beside a happy kid, I listen to awesome guitar music as bonus! Thank you so much School of Rock Alexandria!

We have 100% appreciated how hard School of Rock has worked to open and keep classes on schedule this last Covid year. The method app has been a good way to communicate assignments and keep my teen boy on track. Thanks all for the good work and even better concerts!

Welcoming and supportive staff. Instructors are professional and positive with the kids. We love the performance aspect & that the kids are able to work together as a band. Highly recommend!

Kiddie Academy of D.C. - West End

Kiddie Academy is the best!  Every day, I knew my children would be safe and loved.  Every day, I knew they would learn new things and I could continue that learning at home after receiving their thorough report in the evening.  My children always came home happy from Kiddie Academy and often didn’t want to leave!  Kiddie Academy is a true win and I am deeply appreciative for the time we have spent there over the last 9 years!

Kiddie Academy is fantastic. They provide a very fun, loving and exciting environment for the kids. Ms. Vicki, one of the owners, is very approachable and responsive to any questions or feedback. Highly recommend this daycare.

We have been very impressed with the curriculum and focus on real world topics. We started to see our children's development bloom immediately after enrollment and I attribute that to the incredible care and learning at KA. Every teacher has been absolutely amazing and gained our complete trust. We love it here!

Our son started at KA when he was 15 months.  Since then, his speech and skills have grown tremendously.  He looks forward to going to school everyday; and we couldn't be happier with the teachers and staff, who are incredibly nurturing and attentive.

We love Kiddie Academy.  Our son started at 4 months old.  The teachers provide good communication and let you know how our little one's day went.  They work hard to provide a loving and safe environment.  They also work with the children to encourage them to reach milestones.   During Halloween, Valentine's day and other similar holidays they provide fun events for the children.  Other activities include weekly walks to the library down the street.  We love seeing all the photos and videos during the day while our baby is in daycare.  Highly recommend!

Our son has had experience with guitar lessons and performance program - both have been great since the very beginning few years back. Material at guitar lessons has been evolving together with skills, and School of Rock does a great job arranging gigs (performance program) that we see as both purpose of and reward for the learning. Also, as a parent, I really appreciate that SoR has always been a very encouraging environment, especially if a kid is into rock genre.

School of Rock has made an amazing difference in my life. My background includes many years of choral music and band, but since a very young age, I had always wanted to progress on the piano.
After my first piano lesson at SOR, I was playing a Beatles song, and had learned the magic of using a chord-based method. To broaden my experience, I chose to play and sing in the performance program, and have come a long way musically.
Thank you teachers, admin., and fellow bandmates at the School of Rock for the fantastic journey!

A lot of talented students playing various instruments, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, Rose is extremely helpful to answer all my questions. There are many options to join a band plus many performance opportunities, which attracted my son to go there. My son really enjoys playing and learning at School of Rock.

The staff here are lovely. They were very friendly, encouraging and kind. My niece absolutely loved her time here. Watching her get excited about music was amazing. Though she is currently not taking classes anymore, I hope she’ll be able to in the future because watching her here was magic!

SOR has been a wonderful community for my young rocker! I'm constantly impressed by their performances, and their support of each other.
