Beautiful scenery and secluded. The air con above our bed leaked on us during the night. Ended up pulling the bed away from the wall with great difficulty. The sceptic system does not handle toilet paper so be aware. I ordered fish for dinner and it was well undercooked. I was quite surprised by this as I often cook fish at home and it is the simplest ingredient to prepare. They graciously offered to redo the dish but everyone else had finished and enjoyed their dishes. They gave me a nice slice of flan for desert, on the house. Overall we were enchanted by this location. We observed whales in the distance as the sun was setting. Breakfast was delicious, coffee the best.
I really want to like this place... The food at the restaurant is excellent. The location is also amazing, so long as you know what you are in for in this area. We did, and yes, the roads are rough, don't come to the area if that's not what you expect. The Crossroads restaurant (I'll try to post a separate review) has great food and Ari, is a gracious host / server. However, the hotel itself is in a significant state of disrepair. The room cleaning seemed very good, but the building is falling apart. The pool had garbage, rocks and growth in it and clearly was not in a state for swimming. If we had been informed in advance that the pool had issues, it would have been appreciated. The sliding doors were almost inoperable. I'm sure it is hard to get good maintenance staff, but this was the worst of several nice properties we stayed at and we were quite disappointed. We booked one of the ocean front suites and could barely see out the windows, which desperately needed to be washed. The room itself was quite stunning as you can see in the pictures, but when you get up close, it is not what we expected. We would come back for the restaurant, not for the accommodation.
What an incredible experience! Listening to crashing waves from the Sea of Cortez with a black velvet blanket of twinkling stars above was breath taking. Felt welcomed immediately, even though we arrived after dark. The staff was attentive and great with knowledge of the area, including recommendations for snorkeling. The food exceeded my expectations for an operation so remote. The fact that they run into town and acquire everything multiple times a week shows the dedication of staff to keeping high standards. Room was minimalist with great art, clean and up to date. I wouldn't mind taking the bed home with me!
This place is beautiful! The entire staff is super helpful, it’s a very modern and as esthetically pleasing environment. You get to hear the waves all night long. We got to visit with the owner herself this morning and to hear her stories was something you just don’t get everywhere. The food is simply delicious. I will certainly come back here some day!
The restaurant was so good! Amazing sea bass fish tacos and guacamole. What could be better than a meal like this, sitting beachside and watching the whales?
