We loved our visit to The Wetlands Institute! The staff were truly outstanding and gave us good, informative information on our visit. The grounds are lovely and there is a lot to see and experience packed into this place! The lecture on horseshoe crabs was interesting and our daughter loved the wetlands walk and the aquarium exhibits. We loved the view from the top portico overlooking the Wetlands. There is a small gift shop here as well. The Wetlands Institute made for a nice excursion on our vacation and gave us something to do on a rainy day!
This was a fun place to visit and learn more about the wetlands and its wildlife. Friendly and helpful staff. Thirteen aquariums with various creatures like eels, dogfish, shrimp, seahorses and an octopus which proved to be most entertaining. There was a discovery area with information on Terrapins and horseshoe crabs. If you're up to it, there was a steep spiral staircase to an observation deck on top the roof overlooking the wetlands. Prices during our visit were $7 for seniors, $8 adults/teens, $6 children 3-12, children under 2 - Free. This admission includes all the areas above. Outside is a walk over the wetlands on a boardwalk path. This is included in the above admission fee or for a suggested donation of $3 if you don't pay to view the inside areas. We visited in the afternoon for nearly 1.5 hours.
It was gorgeous, and you can definitely tell that the workers care about what they're doing! Can't wait to go back however I must warn you all! Bring bug spray because you will be attacked by bugs-
Absolutely worth going, keep up the good work!

It’s a nice place to take kids or adults by a car or a bus. They have a ramp for handicap and a
small gift shop. The place has a salt marsh aquarium & teaching tank. They have science activities and crafts. They have picnic tables. You can use your phone to listen to talks about
Creatures and flowers outside. They are open over the weekends from Nov.- May then everyday the rest of the year. The people that work there are great at teaching you about the
animals. The Cape May Free Zoo is not far so take a picnic lunch for a fun day!
