The UPS Store

Just as others have stated, they refuse to honor pre-paid SHIPPER packed packages and insist the sender is responsible or subject to their made up charge. I do not like to leave bad reviews because according to the man who stated their policy, he independently owns this location. I would be happy to support that, however, I could clearly smell alcohol on him and that leads me to believe he makes up his franchisee rules on the fly. I am shocked nobody has turned him in before now and can only hope he has time to sober up before he leaves.

First, let me say I have never written a poor review of any business - until now. I went in today and was told the charge to tape my package was $4. $4 for tape at a shipping store! I left, went home and taped it, and returned. Then, they could not scan the code for the label I had on my phone. While standing there, I received a new code from the vendor, and that one did not work either. When I say they were completely unhelpful, that is an understatement. They just kept saying, “That’s not our code, so I don’t know” over and over until I left. They did not spend one moment trying to solve the issue. Ironically, I went to the Urbandale UPS Store and they knew immediately how to handle the label. They were so kind, polite, and helpful. Beaverdale UPS lost all of my future business today.

Came here with a package and a pre-paid label in hand. They explained that they charge $4 to tape the label to the package. Not kidding… it’s an extra $4 charge if you want them to tape the label (that you printed out) and affix it to the package (that you assembled). I’d rather drive the package across the country myself than pay these guys $4 for a few inches of tape.

This place was actually great. I walked in and they were slammed busy. i said "oh boy its gonna be awhile. i better block off my afternoon". then i read some mantra on their desk about how they love their jobs and their customers etc etc. and said to myself "hm thats kinda cute. i wonder if they practice what they preach or if its just corporate team building jargon". turns out, they do. the people working there had an energy that said they were there to help. they were turning and burning people lickety split. 1 girl even came from behind the register and started serving extra people without a register. she saw what needed to be done and did it. and as a result of their hard work and positive attitude, i was out of there fast and happy. that is what business is about. nice!

I’ve been stopping here since we bought our house a few blocks away 8 years ago. I’ve done shipping, returns, and printing. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, helpful, and gracious. Even during busy hours, or busy times of the year. They are ALWAYS professional, and usually with an added dose of kindness. I don’t know how they built such a wonderful team, but every person here is lovely. I’ve never had anything less than *excellent* customer service. I won’t go anywhere else!
