The Honey Baked Ham Company

Boise recently got a Honey Baked Ham Co. on 2/20/23, I stopped by to check it out. I wanted to share these pictures with you, so you would know what to expect if you visited the store. Having never been to a HBHC before, I was surprised to see they have family meals available, as well as ready to make soups, condiments, and a large freezer case full of meats, side dishes, and desserts. I tried The Ham Classic ($8.49) - Honey Baked Ham, topped with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and hickory honey mustard, on a flaky croissant. I wasn’t expecting an authentic croissant, but my bread was dry and my sandwich would have benefited from a little bit more liberal use of mayo and hickory honey mustard. The ham was okay. If I was going to rate my experience based simply on the sandwich, I would give it 2 stars. However, I’m going to bump it up to 3 stars because the service was excellent! I think it’s important to give this business some slack because it is relatively new, and I’m sure like everyone else, they’re having a hard time finding people to hire, as well as challenges in maintaining their staff. I also think it’s hard to rate a business based on one menu item, and everyone can have an off day. I liked that there was a lot of available free parking, the convenient location next to the mall, and the nice indoor seating. The ambience was casual. This business is set up so you can conveniently purchase and/or order items to go, or sit there and enjoy one of their lunch offerings. This business is located next to Panda Express. So if you’re picking up food to go, but have family members that don’t like ham, it would be very easy to pick up Chinese food for them instead.

Came in just to scope the place out and the owner was so welcoming and nice! The smell is absolutely Incredible when you walk in. There was no chance I could leave without a sandwich haha. Absolutely 10/10 recommend the food, and the service is 10/10 as well. If you're on the fence, get the Tavern Sandwich and you won't regret it!

Had the honey baked croissant sandwich with their potato salad. So good. Service was excellent. They also have an assortment of ready to make soups available as well as their different sauces. Would highly recommend. They are right in front of Home Depot. I thought I would share that as we had a hard time finding this great little place.

The food, the service, the menu choices. We love the turkey rolls and boneless hams. Many of their other food choices will not disappoint. They are all excellent.

I recently purchased a 1/4 ham. I had a minor problem with it. But I contacted the store, owner was very prompt in taking care of it the problem. And it was the best ham I’ve eaten in a long time. I highly recommend Honey baked Hams.
