12/26/2023 I reluctantly went into this store ( I had a bad experience with a racist cashier who basically accused me of stealing my own foldable hand cart. I’d stopped into the store after taking packages to the neighborhood UPS store sometime ago.) to look for scotch guard. The price on the shelf has $9.99 . I go up to the cashier and it rings up as $15.99. I tell the cashier the price on the self. (No drama) He calls for a price check. It seemed be taking a long time. I walk back to where I located the item thinking I could help the employee find it. I see him changing the price. I didn’t get a chance to say a word. The rude employee turns to me and coldly says the price tag was old. I would get the item for $9.99, this time, but if I come back I wouldn’t get it for that price again.( Why in hell would I comeback and ask for the price I now know is incorrect?) I was stunned by how rudely he was speaking to me. ( I still had not said a word.) I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m a customer trying to purchase scotch guard! They failed to change the price. If I had been spoken to politely, I would’ve thanked him for honoring the lower price. That’s not the end. Instead of saying excuse me to walk past, he literally flattens himself against the shelves and slides past me. It was ridiculous. I spoke to the manager and he seemed clueless. The people I dealt with have horrible interpersonal skills. Once upon a time this was a pleasant place to shop. The staff were polite and knowledgeable. Now I am reluctant to enter the store. It’s horrible.

I called in to ask if they carry an item, I was told i would have to wait because he was helping a customer. I agreed. He told me the items name . I asked how much. He responded he didn’t know off hand and that was all the information. This is insane to me. If you walked to get the item, how much more energy would it take to scan and find out the price? Customer service is at an all time low.
5 stars for Jessica!!!! Very helpful today looking up a product for me and calling the Tacoma store and reserving it at the counter for pick up.
She actually saw I was looking around and asked “Can I help you find something”.

This place has a good selection of items you would expect to find in a hardware store of this size. The prices are competitive.
More importantly, they offer great customer service. Just earlier today, I went into the store looking for specific kind of bolt. I don't know very much about bolts. The staff member helping me spent the time to find exactly what I was looking for and handed it to me. He was courteous and helpful throughout the entire interaction. My total purchase was $0.65, and the whole time I was treated like a valuable customer.
