Took my 6 month old son here and she did a wonderful job! Helped us keep him distracted and made it a wonderful first haircut. She also cut my daughters hair too and gave her a memorable time also, by ending the hair cut with such a cute braid and some red glitter!!! I have always loved going here but this last time was the absolute best!
Came for my daughter's ear piercing and no regrets. I fully expected my 6 y/o to back out but the 2 girls who did the piercing were friendly, positive and quick and they were done before she had time to get too freaked out in the chair. A week later and my daughter's ears are healing perfectly and she's loving her new earrings. Everything was clean and the piercing package was completely reasonable. The included squishmellow is one of her favorites. Thank-you for a good experience!
It kills me to have to write this review. I wanted this to not be the case but unfortunately here we are. My wife had heard of Shear Madness doing birthday parties and with this place being where my 5 (soon to be 6) year old daughter had her first haircut my wife booked them for my daughters upcoming birthday for her and her friends. When asked, the employee told my wife the most advance required was a month but my wife wanted to make sure there was no issues so on 10/25/2023 she booked the party for 12/9/2023 at 3pm. Perfect. My wife then proceeded to call them twice in November not only to confirm the date but to confirm other things as well. No issues. Perfect. So when my wife received a call on 12/2/23 asking when wed be coming in that day, we were confused. Well the employee states that Shear Madness has booked the party for 12/2. My wife told them there must be a mistake and explained the various confirmations to the employee to which she was put on hold. When the employee came back she told us that a different party was set for that time slot on that day and that the only option they had was to switch the party to 1pm. Now would this normally be a problem? No. However, this is a WEEK prior to the party and all invitations have been sent and people shifted things to make sure they could be there. So we're upset and to us it's unacceptable and we asked if there was any way to fix this for the time and date we booked. We were told we could take a refund. We avoided that since our daughter was super excited and we wanted to try and figure this out.We were told to call on 12/3 to speak with the manager, Nikki. Well my wife calls on 12/3 and wouldn't you guess that Nikki is busy and she can't talk right then. Ok so my wife waited till closer till the end of the day and called again to once again hear how Nikki was busy. Now frustrated, we asked when will she not be busy and we were told to call 12/4. So my wife trying to be reasonable called at opening hoping that Nikki would maybe be able to take the call at that time. Well she couldn't and we asked once again is there a good time to call and finally we were told around 345pm. So we finally called and got Nikki. Well you see Nikki apparently was not having a great day. She flat out told my wife there was nothing Shear Madness could do, that she didn't believe my wife set the date and confirmed it prior, and that "her girls" would never try to help with this on their own let alone offer a refund. So we asked what could be done and again offered this nonsensical 1pm slot which was ridiculous. We then said we definitely want our refund now since they're not going to give us what we BOOKED and CONFIRMED only to hear Nikki and "her girls" couldn't authorize that and Nikki would have to speak with the owner. So we put in the request for a refund but Nikki didn't seem all that enthused to really do anything to help us. We want a resolution but based on Nikki's people skills that probably won't happen. I'm sure people have had positive experiences here since my daughter did. But clearly behind those experiences there's something very ugly behind the scenes. How many manager could not only see how cruel and disrespectful this situation is is beyond me, but Nikki made it very clear Shear Madness really doesn't care. My advice? Go somewhere else. Don't let your daughter be let down by people like this let alone be exposed to them. This is an awful way to do business and when you have to pay extra after the fifth child (my daughter has 7) the only thing I could think as to why they are allowing this is because the other party is one big paycheck for them. I'll update if they resolve, but let's be honest, companies like this won't fix anything. UPDATE I do want to thank Todd the owner for reaching out and refunding us as well as trying to accommodate and going as far as sending gifts for our daughter. That was extremely nice and appreciated. But Todd you deserve better than who is representing you as a business.
This was a 5 but I recently had to put a 2.... The first visit was amazing, our second was mediocre, and now when I call asked if they would be able to take a walk in today...without a second thought they instantly say we are booked for the day. There was no attempt to see if there was any cancellations or even offer to has us walk in but can't guarantee there's no wait which I would of been fine with since we were sitting in a car in the same parking lot for an hour.. The willingness to even give good customer service was avoided.
However when I go on the website it states

I'm all about customer service but this was disappointing.
We have always gone here for all my children's haircuts. Our last visit was for my youngest 1st haircut. With the package, you get 2 sets of pictures with a lock of hair. Our hair dresser was such a sweet woman and didn't rush through my babies haircut like some hair dressers do with small children. She also took the time after to help me get the right hair product for my other child. She went above and beyond and was thorough going over the products they had for what I needed. I would 100% recommend to others, and will be making future hair appointments with Charla.
