Parked right at the stairs of the university, I’d say this is great lil spot to grab a casual bite with friends. It has a small family style restaurant vibe and the food was good. The portions were bigger than I expected for the price, so great value. I think the soup was my favorite.
It seems to be always busy, so plan to try it on a weekday rather than the weekends.
We ate there twice yesterday and both times it was very good food and very reasonable prices. First I had the full meal deal for 85$ and later just veggie soups to tide us over the night. A little away from the maddening crowd. Right in front of the university stairs. You can’t go wrong here as long as you’re not too fussy.
The food is quite slow and waiter places the wrong order for drinks which I could accept since I don’t speak Spanish, but the fried fish is raw, actually is also acceptable, everyone make mistakes. The thing I don’t like about restaurant is when I told owner the fish is raw, he seems doesn’t care and just pointed kitchen and said something, no sorry no explain
Really enjoyed the chilaquiles with two eggs and refried beans. The green sauce is amazing! The meal also includes orange juice, coffee, and a bolillo for 68 pesos. Such a great deal! We’ve also had the enchiladas and those were delicious as well...starting to sense a pattern here.
The service has been incredibly fast both times we dined here. They are attentive and bring whatever else you request out to the table promptly. We also love that they don’t nickel and dime for ever additional thing (I.e., extra butter or a refill of coffee). We’ll definitely be back for more food!
Nice little breakfast and lunch place. So affordable and they know how to cook eggs to perfection. They roast their own coffee so I bought their organic coffee before also. Lovely place!
