Psistaria Greek Taverna

By far the best Greek restaurant in Chicagoland. Maybe in the US. And that’s coming from a Greek family. We celebrated a college graduation. Big table. And big time service. Our waiter was like a symphony conductor. The food was the most authentic we’ve had. Felt like we were back in Greece. Honestly the octopus was better than in Greece. It was a special night and they delivered highly recommend this place.

The food is flavorful for sure but some quite salty. The lamb broilers combo is quite generous to taste two types of chops. The accompanying green beans and fish soup were supreme. The Greek salad is standard but the lemon 🍋 chicken soup is yum albeit quite salty. Overall it is a fabulous dining room with renovated decor. The serving staff is so friendly. Valet parking only . Our server was amazing but his bussers were not. The food is authentic and portions good for the price. Lots of oregano though. Place was bustling on an early Sunday afternoon.

I had the chicken kabobs and they were very good. Not the best I've had but very good. A few of my family members had the fried fish. I didn't care for that at all! And I usually enjoy fried fish but not that. I wouldn't recommend it. Everything else was very tasty. And just FYI, they only have valet parking.

Congratulations to this Greek owned family restaurant!!!! Tasty food but the Karydopita and the Ekmek were out of this planet! Πολλά Συγχαρητήρια
