They work on your car. But you look at your car, and they leave black finger prints on it, and the coolant flush is everywhere under the hood. Drive away smell the coolant burning on the engine. Very sloppy business. Never going back. Had get car detailed to clean their mess. I should just took it to the dealership instead.
I brought my car in today to get a purge valve replaced today. Steve told me the only choice was for an AC default. I have NEVER had issues with my AC in the past. I told him I wasn't concerned with that. He said "it won't pass emissions with that fault. We can do a diagnostics for $39.99.". I told him to go ahead. I came back about 90 minutes later and they had "charged the AC system" at a cost of just under $500. The tech told me was it blowing warm before? It's ice cold now. When I asked Steve if it was common practice to do a $500 job without customer authorization, he said, "I can just let the coolant out now if you prefer.". When I got in my car and drove away, the AC blew warm. It blew soft. It seems I've paid $500 for them to break my AC.
I think it's fair to say that I'm angry. I've wasted my whole morning (came back to the shop) and they are "checking it." I'm now supposed to come back the next time I get a code for the purge valve. I'm not sure I will. **** Update. They corrected the a/c issue saying it needed to be reprogrammed, but I'm certain something was not reconnected correctly. It works great now. I did return my vehicle today for the purge valve engine code. Hopefully everything will go well. If so, I'll update my rating again.
*** Second update. Steve get my purge valve replaced quickly and gave me a fair price. There was a bit of confusion, but in the end, they took care of my problems....
I have gone to this Midas for umpteen years. Steve is always helpful. I have trusted him with my Toyota for years. Now my Kia. And I just met Chaz today too. Very pleasant & helpful.
