On a whim my husband and I stopped in today to see if we could get our brakes replaced figuring we would need an appointment. We were gotten in right then much to our surprise!! Both gentlemen at the front desk were professional and courteous. Couldn't ask for better service. Even got to exchange some stories for a laugh or two which passed the time. Thank you Marcus! And on a last note....the brakes are working perfectly. Keep up the great work. Thank you for a pleasant experience today.
I had my air conditioner repaired at the Tampa store in August of 2022. In July of 2023, the air conditioner went out again. The manager of the Tampa store told me I was able to bring the car back to the Winter Haven store to have the repair done, because the stores were dually owned. Since the part was still under warranty, I would just have to pay for the labor.
Thankfully before visiting the store, I decided to have the car diagnosed at Chevrolet to make sure the compressor was the issue. They confirmed that was the ONLY issue.
When I arrived at this store at noon on Friday, they were not able to locate the part to fix my car by closing time and I would have to leave my car there for the weekend to be repaired.
When I picked the car up on Monday, a rat had chewed a hole in the front seat over the weekend. The hole measured 2.5” x 2.5”. The rat also ate my sons IPad cover, chewed the underside of the passenger seat and ruined a children’s book.
The manager, Jonathon, was super apologetic and admitted that when they acquired the business they had a huge rat problem. He said they would repair any damage that was done.
That Wednesday, I took time off of work to have the car fully inspected to make sure no further damage was done.
I originally wanted the seat replaced but the owner refused the replace the seat, only to repair, which I finally accepted. I took off work and searched all over to find a place to repair the seat but the hole was too large for anyone to successfully repair, without it looking totally botched. Each place I took it to, suggested placing a new seat cover over half or the whole seat. I finally accepted that I would have to get a cover put on the bottom half of the seat and that it would not perfectly match the rest of the seats in the car. The new cover would be part leather and part vinyl.
A month after leaving the Winter Haven store, the air conditioner went out again. Since it was within the 90 day warranty, I could take my car to any Midas to be repaired.
I chose a store in Orlando, who noticed the Winter Haven store had not done the repair correctly. They replaced the compressor and other minor issues the Winter Haven store had done incorrectly.
Literally a month later, the AC went out AGAIN! I was so fed up with Midas I took the car to a repair shop that I knew I could I trust. Within about 45 minutes they let me know that the compressor was broken again and that Midas had used a cheap repurposed part. During the repair, they noticed that the line to the compressor had been bent (most likely by the Winter Haven store to get their cheap part to fit). That was why the compressor kept breaking. They were able to bend the line back into place, but warned me that it may break again in a couple years or so. I spent another $1050 at this store.
This was obviously caused by the Winter Haven store because the bent line was not noted on the original diagnosis from Chevrolet and that was why the air conditioner kept going out.
I submitted both bills, the vinyl repair bill and the bill from the car repair location who fixed my air conditioner, to the Winter Haven store. The owner of both locations is refusing to pay for the air conditioner repair and is only offering to pay for the seat repair, which is around $500.
As a business owner, I know the value of good customer service and taking care of clients. I feel like a nobody to them and have never felt so mistreated by a business. I have taken multiple days off work, had my air conditioner break 3 times within a three month period (during the summer) and had my car eaten by a rat and all they are offering me is $500 to just repair my seat?!? Wow.
They will lose far more business from would-be future customers reading this review than it would have cost them to just pay my $1050 repair bill along with the seat repair.
Please do yourself a favor and avoid both of these locations at all costs.
They have no concept of what an appointment is. My first appointment was on Saturday at 2:00. Just before 3:00 they told me that I just needed 2 (rusted) exhaust bolts cut off and 2 put in their place. I was told the job would take a half hour. Apparently no one could do it then. I was asked to make an appointment for Monday. I made an appointment for Monday. When I came in they took my key and information again. 10 minutes later I was told they wouldn't be able to get to it that day. I will be taking any further business elsewhere.
