I went to the store over a week ago and purchased a refrigerator. The delivery was scheduled for the 9th, and it never showed up. So I called the store and asked what's going on with the order. Unbeknownst to me, the salesman in appliances Rick sold me a fridge that was already sold to someone else. So I spoke to a manager, Jesse, who "fixed the issue" by giving me a delivery date of the 13th, again it did not show up. Went back to the store and spoke to the assistant manager Danny, who then gave me a delivery date of the 15th. It showed up today, all scratched and dented. There was no protection around the fridge, just the box thrown over it. I highly recommend that you do not shop at Lowes in Lewes Delaware and take your business elsewhere. It is absolutely ridiculous to go through this much trouble for a refrigerator.
*Edit 11/17* I attempted to get a refund put back on my lowes credit card and was told a blatant lie by an associate at customer service. He told me none of the managers know how to put a refund through the system, and only 1 person in the entire store knows how and told me to come back Monday when she's working. This has to be the absolute worst experience at any retail store I've ever shopped at. The amount of carelessness from associates to management is shocking. Makes me wonder how these inept people became managers.
Ordered a washing machine online and was supposed to have a delivery on December 23rd, 2023. We received text messages throughout the day confirming the delivery and that they would be here between 1:30pm and 5:30pm. At 2:30pm we received a text from the delivery driver that he wasn’t coming because the washer looked damaged. I asked him to deliver it so I could take pictures of the damage. Delivery driver never showed up but did send a text picture of the machine. Called the Lewes, De store and was on hold for over 35 minutes, just to be hung up on and had to call and wait again. Finally, after someone answered, they said it wasn’t their issue and I would need to wait for the delivery driver. No one ever showed. Called the 24th of December and was told to wait and call back on the 26th of December. Called in to the store and was told the delivery driver never returned the washer and we can’t start a refund until they bring the washer back. Called the delivery driver and he finally responded that it’s not his problem and will return it when they get time. Everyone keeps passing the blame with no accountability.
This has been a huge hassle and I will never purchase another appliance or home service through Lowe’s.
Update: Called the store on the 27th and 28th after long waits on hold, we finally got to speak with someone. Store is refusing a refund since the washer has not been returned by the delivery team. I called the delivery driver and was promptly told “Don’t call me and talk to Lowe’s.” I explained Lowe’s needed the washer back and they are refusing a refund. Driver responded “Not my problem, I don’t have anything on my truck.” Called Lowe’s again and my wife spoke with the store manager. Manager instantly refunded the purchase price after we explained we are disputing the charges for non delivery with our credit card company.
Just went to Delmarva Appliances in Dover, ordered the same washer, lower price, and will be delivered on Tuesday. Very disappointed with our experience.
For a big box store, we’ve gotten good service from the appliance department. James and Josh helped us and provided us with information and all we needed to get a dishwasher!
Now—we’ll see if the dishwasher arrives!!
Worst experience @ a Lowe’s in my living history. Employees are beyond rude & even my cart was taken as I went to venture for another item; almost a grand in sales they lost on that cart! No willingness to aid consumers and any simple questions are met with resistance. Entire staff needs retraining on basic customer service skills.
