Lakeview Ace Hardware

Phenomenal hardware store with extremely helpful and friendly staff. They have everything you could possibly need for your home fixes and DIY projects: paint, gardening tools/potting soil, lighting, cleaning supplies, auto supplies, power tools, screws/nuts/bolts/hardware, lumber, key copying, air filters, water filters, and so so much more. This store is very well stocked, so be sure to ask someone for what you need, because they most definitely have it!

Stopped in to look for a Christmas tree stand to (hopefully) replace perhaps the single biggest cause of holiday anxiety in our home - the wobbly screws in our current stand that barely keep our tree upright each December. I mentioned this to Russ, who immediately introduced me to the Krinner, the gold-standard for Christmas tree stands. I was making my way to purchase it when I got a text from my mom that she had already bought one at another Ace location based on overwhelming recommendations! I didn’t end up needing the stand, but I left the store knowing I would be back soon, and I would be in good hands with Russ and the rest of the staff. After my first visit, big endorsement for the customer service, friendly atmosphere and selection of quality products available. Thanks, Russ!

I’m a huge fan of smaller hardware stores such as the Lakeview Ace Hardware for the knowledgeable employees they always seem to hire. Yes the bigger box stores often carry a wider array of items but when you’re looking for something small and random, those places never seem to know if they even carry what you’re looking for and more often than not don’t seem interested in helping me either. Hardware stores like this, I truly appreciate and they’re locally owned franchises so it’s money coming back into the community.

Man who helped me was very rude, and bent the key I asked him to copy. I was unaware one of my keys were not able to be copied and he was very rude when he informed me. As I thanked him for helping me he curtly said goodbye. Go to the Ace on Broadway and Cornelia instead.

A plastic bag strap buckle broke, but I wasn't ready to give up on the free canvas bag I received from an employer in the 1990s. Luckily, neither was Russ at Lakeview Ace Hardware. Russ suggested a metal replacement to reconnect the strap, and to my surprise, he actually got down on the concrete floor to hammer the new triangle piece closed for me! I have been to this Ace Hardware location many times since I moved to Buena Park (an Uptown neighborhood) in 2004, and I have consistently received outstanding service. I highly recommend Russ and the rest of the team!
