Kosta's Restaurant and Bar

So i had the steak tips, unfortunately I wouldnt recommend them. They're drowning in not so great gravy, flavor was just bad, plus they were overcooked (asked for medium). Waitress was great and everyone was friendly.

Kosta's Restaurant is a delightful escape from the usual American fare. Whenever I crave flavors reminiscent of my hometown, Varna, Bulgaria, I always choose Kosta's. The Spanakopita & Gyro, paired with their Greek salad, are absolutely my favorites. The establishment cleverly offers two sections: a spacious dining area at the front, perfect for hosting large gatherings or renting for events, and a cozy bar at the back. Both areas have their own bars but serve the same delectable menu. Parking is never an issue, and the staff consistently impresses with their warmth and friendliness.

Great tasting gyros. We tried both chicken and lamb gyros and they were great. The salad with Greek dressing was so fresh and delectable. Don't forget the baklavas warm with sweet honey and nuts. Highly recommended.

If I'm being honest, that was the worst tasting food I've ever had at a restaurant. Their restaurant in Old Town was delish however, the Brewer location, the same dish, wasn't good at all. I had steak tips and veggies and mashed potatoes and all of it was no good. Not sure what they did differently but yuck. Hey the raspberry iced tea was really good tho! Like really good. Our waitress was great. There was no one else in the restaurant tho. Beautiful inside, fireplace and all. Just the food was gross tasting.

I was a big fan for years, never a bad meal. Things started going down hill during the pandemic (understandable), but it's never really recovered. Sometimes it's still pretty good, but more and more frequently you end up with tepid (or even cold) lasagna or buffalo chicken mac n cheese with barely enough cheesy goodness to cover the noodles. It used to be an easy recommendation, but the quality is way too inconsistent to do so anymore.
